Coldplay - A Head Full of Dreams

About A Head Full of Dreams by Coldplay Album

A Head Full of Dreams is Coldplay's seventh studio album, released on December 4, 2015 on the Parlophone label. The 11-track album (with an additional hidden track called "X Marks The Spot") was recorded in LA and London, and was produced by Stargate and Rik Simpson. It features contributions from Beyoncé, Noel Gallagher, Tove Lo and Merry Clayton. Lead singer, Chris Martin, explained that as the band didn't tour with the previous album (Ghost Stories) they were able to start work quickly on their 7th album “Head Full of Dreams”. The first single released from the album on November 6, 2015 was "Adventure of a Lifetime". A world tour is promised to accompany the album in 2016.

- So BAD

This is the worst album they've done!!! not their sound at all, tried something different and it just sound awful , sorry Coldplay but dont do this type of music it does not suit you guys, go back to your roots, listen how you started and the fame you got, this is not YOU!!!!

- I really don’t get the hate For This Album

C’mon How Can Anyone Dislike this Album

- A Masterpiece

Hymn for the weekend has that pizazz that just gets you off your feet and thank the lord that this group is so talented. Good job as always.

- Actually listen to some of the songs instead of reading the reviews.

I will admit that this album is a bit different compared their previous albums in the sense that they add a lot more of the sounds and beats you would probably hear in a pop album rather than an alternative one. However, that’s not to say that just because they wanted to try something new (similar to their other album “Mylo Xyloto”) means that there won’t be some decent songs on it. Although I admit I enjoy more songs off of some of their older albums (especially X & Y), I did enjoy “Adventure of a Lifetime”, “Hymn for the weekend”, and “Up&Up”. It is a drastic difference from when they first started recording albums, but it’s honestly not that bad and maybe you should actually try listening to the songs instead of just reading all the bad reviews and haters.

- Head Full of Dreams Review

To be completely honest, this is their best album. I didn't know a whole lot about Coldplay until "Sky Full of Stars" played on the radio a lot, and then my dad got this album. This is Coldplay at its finest. Nice, happy, upbeat alternative. No bad vibes here. I'm actually really surprised that the song itself "A Head Full of Dreams" isn't purchased as much as it is. Good job!!

- Strong set...

A solid continuation of all that is and has been this band.

- Head full of dreams

Could be way better if you did I with Taylor Swift!!!!

- Drunken high electric crap

This album is not for the fans of earlier Coldplay albums. It has poorly thought out lyrics and sounds like a drunk wrote the lyrics to every song. I suggest an album that returns to the roots of Coldplay. These new albums are not Coldplay they are Copycats of other artists. Make a true pre 2005 Coldplay album thanks .

- Meh

The only reason why this has 5 stars is cause of all of Coldplay's other albums (ok, most of their other albums, because ghost stories was just...) anyways if this band is going out it needs to leave the right way. I want parachutes, rush of blood to the head, that's why I listened to Coldplay. Yet lately, it feels like only one or two songs from each album appeals to me. Sure they evolve, but they evolved into a culture that never should have happened. Every song sounds the same lately with all other artists, and I want Coldplay to finally return to where they started. At least one more album I can listen to all the way. Please Coldplay, don't let me down. Down let all of us down.

- Good

Godplay

- Pentay1000

Beautiful!! Electric!! Fantastic!! They feel free to make their sound of music, without feeling and listening to criticism. They are mature in their sound unbowed and unbound by pressure! Love this album

- So bad it's impressive

Guys. GUYS.

- Horrible...

All of the 4, 5 star reviews are LIES. Those people are either in denial or simply have no problem listening to garbage. This album is one of the worst albums I've ever listened to, and this is coming from a very old fan of Coldplay! Do yourself a favor: avoid listening to this and just enjoy Coldplay's older works. Spare your ears and save your money.

- Why so many complaints??

Ok so I have no idea why there are so many people who don’t like this album. I personally LOVE every single song in this album. I think that Coldplay is getting even better, not worse. I understand how people might not like that they’re changing and want “the old Coldplay” back, but this change in their sound has been coming for a while. Just look at Ghost Stories, or even Mylo Xyloto. Coldplay has been leading up to an album like this for a while, and none of us should be surprised. Rather, let’s embrace this (amazing) album! If you don’t love it, give it a chance. It has much more to offer than meets the eye.

- Coldplay is the Best!

“Head full of dreams” One of their best albums! Love this band!

- Awesome

This album is one of the best albums, Coldplay has made 7 albums and there all good I can’t list them but I can tell you one thing, this album will help you see life in a good view and this album will put a good vibe to your life #coldplay4life

- It's not the old Colday but...

They've still done a great job with this album and showing how they can stay relevant even after all these years. Definitely a fresh new sound to listen to among all this 21st Century pop crap. Favorites in this album so far are Everglow, Hymn for he Weekend, Up&Up and Adventure of a Lifetime. Also like the remix on YouTube by Alan Waller of Hymn for the Weekend.

- Pretty good

Better than ever

- happi boi

this makes me so happy and i will love them forever

- Fantastic Album

When Coldplay said “this would be their last album” I imagined it would be the best they have made... and oh boy, it was fantastic! This is da music!

- Different yet the same.

Embrace the change. There is room for growth and shift even for Coldplay! Give it a chance.

- Another great Album

Really enjoyed cold play they have outdone themselves again with this one

- They're not rock anymore, but they are still great.

Coldplay are a completely different band now but they are definitely still amazing composers!

- Not Sure...

If I already commented but why not again! I love this album! Only actual FULL (of Dreams 😂😂) album I own! “Adventure of a Lifetime” is my ALL TIME FAVORITE SONG EVER, and “Hymn...” trails it! Proud to say #RoseBowlOct.6 #IWasThere! Great to see in person, they put on a show! Coldplay fan for life!

- It's Just Creativity

I haven't known Coldplay for as long as many of the commentors below have, but I'm liking the new direction the band is taking, I'm sure they'll be exploring new things. Coldplay never "used to be", they had some rock, but soon changed to alternative, and Mylo Xyloto and Ghost Stories are totally different from their original point, but the fact is Coldplay was never some one thing, like other bands, they change. Anyone can be a fan, it does'nt matter if you like this album or not.

- Bland awful

Garbage

- Amazing

I've bought the physical album years ago, days ago I bought this digital. This album is insane, if you wanna try some some indie music, this definitely is gonna be your best choice

- So good

Awesome

- Cuban flow 🇨🇺🇺🇸

Super cool

- pure joy

There’s something about this album that makes me feel positive about life. I truly have enjoyed the uplifting music - brings me true joy and happiness. Chris Martin has done it again. ❤️ Coldplay.

- Great as always

Coldplay never disappoints 🔥🔥🔥

- Best Band that exists

Pure talent from all the years that they have made music! Most people say that Coldplay isn’t their favorites anymore because they changed from rock to pop. But they sound amazing either way!!! 👍👍👍 FIRE!!! 🔥

- I love this!

Some of my new favorite songs are on this album. I enjoy it very much! 💕

- Such a beautiful album

It’s a work of art, Coldplay really did it with this one.

- Where’s Gwen??

His ex gwen was suppose to be on this song...where is she?!!

- Eh

Nothing like the Coldplay I fell in love with.

- Not bad

I’m not huge on this project I thought ghost stories was better than this even with all the electronic stuff in it I like that album more than this one imo

- Good album

I LOVE COLDPLAY

- Worst of all the albums...period.

Coming from a HUGE Coldplay fan.

- Catchy album with patience needed

At first I was on the fence with this one .. I’m a huge fan going back to the first album .. always loved the slow burn intensity of their previous albums .. minus the BIG ELECTRONIC BANG of MYLO XYLOTO.. After the quiet release of Ghost Stories .. they delivered on the promise of a quick follow up complimenting a emotionally intense album .. with a loud catchy pop album .. NOT the COLDPLAY I’m used to.. BUT that’s good in a way .. my tempered expectations on this album were wrong .. I found this album to be an absolute breath of fresh air .. Made me drum on the steering wheel more than any other album of theirs .. songs line ARMY OF ONE , and FUN are my absolute favorites on this record ..just as Mylo Xyloto teased what was to come with this album with the mix of pop and traditional Coldplay .. this album didn’t have to grow on me as much .. I now consider it one of my favorite CP albums .. stay tuned for the amazing follow up “EVERY DAY LIFE “

- Coldplay

This album is amazing and fresh my mom loves this album (I'm a child doing this) she loves almost all of the songs!

- Amazing!!!

This album has been out for a while now and I can't believe I've neglected to give my review, so here I am. This album has impacted my life tremendously and I'm so grateful for Coldplay and their music. They are so creative and fun and every song is an exhilarating journey and experience. Thank you, Coldplay. ❤️my only complain is the Obama crap.

- YES

coldplay rocks & all you people that will only listen to old Coldplay can go cry

- Fantastic

This, yet another illustrious album from Coldplay is new and fresh as well as being the same great sound we're used to.

- Yikes

It’s gross

- A happy album

Now in 2018 with nobody seeing this album it is important songs like hymn for the weekend, army of one, and up&up. I hope this review doesn’t get lost in all the reviews of people who reviewed before the album came out.

- To whom who say this is bad

Listen This album has lead to Coldplay’s charting success while giving the artist its theme and its increase of popularity. Here’s why until the release of “adventure of a lifetime(radio edit)” Coldplay did have the majestic “ghost stories” in major success. But Coldplay, with that album, started to into a more “75% pop/25% rock” direction which is okay, but doesn’t define what they are. Which is “50% pop/50% rock”, as they were from “Mylo Xyloto” and “Viva la Vida”

- ❤️

❤️

- Well Done

Love many songs in this album. Hymn for the Weekend is one of the best songs they’ve ever written while a lot of the others are also really good too.

- Adventure of a Lifetime

I cant say enough about this tune..I LOVE IT!!! Crank it up and dance!

- Every Song Is a Dream

This is the first coldplay album that I learned to play on piano, this album is the best, the best song is “Everglow” when u learned it in piano it sounded so Deep and Light a the same time, it sounded like a master piece. Amazing!

- Great album

This is a great album by Coldplay and they have songs on here that'll be remembered for a long time.

- Attention Coldplay Fans

Love the band......go download the Shiver album and The Blue Room...find the hidden gems of this amazing band.

- j'adore

5 étoiles

- AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING

They just are sooooo good

- Everglow👌🏻

I really didn't expect to find so much enjoyment out of this album as I have and will continue to have... 10/10 Edit This album has had over a year to sink in on me, it's different than some of their other works but that doesn't make it bad. I enjoy it but I honestly can't say I'm still listening often. Take from that what you will

- Inspiré et inspirant!

J'aime beaucoup cet album! Ça donne vraiment envie de rêver! Très motivant, inspirant, positif... Tout comme j'aime également leurs anciens albums. Je trouve ça intéressant comment le son du groupe change au fil du temps, ça permet de les redécouvrir différemment.

- Comeback!!

Wow!! I use to like Coldplay 10-15 years ago but then they had a mediocre phase for a while. However, this is the best album they have put out in a long long time. Totally worth the money.

- Dissapointing...

Very dissapointed... too much pop for my taste. I very much prefer the metallic sound of X&Y than this. Adventure of a Lifetime is good, but that's because of the bass riff. wow... I'm not used to give bad reviews to them...

- Ok

Once again an Adventure

- Simply magical!

I love this album. It just makes you feel so GOOD! Very fun and interesting songs in here. Love, love, and more love for Coldplay!

- Kayla🌺

Love this album so much!! My favourite songs are up& up, a head full of dreams, and last but not least the entire album lol 🌺🌼🌸🍀🎸🌈🌈🌈

- Good Album!

I enjoyed this album. Favourite tracks: "A Head Full of Dreams", "Everglow", "Adventure of a Lifetime", "Fun", and the second half of "Army of One". Definitely worth a listen, at least.

- Overrated

Coldplay was so good back then; great lyrics, stellar melodies. Now.....TOO MUCH MAINSTREAM POP!!!! This album was overrated

- not happy

why does hymn for the weekend not have (feat. Beyoncé) on it?? give her some recognition too

- Absolute perfection as usual…..

Absolute perfection as usual…..

- So good

Great album Everglow is SO good

- Awesome song

THIS SONG IS SOO GOOD!!!!!!!

- Head full of dreams does not disappoint

I was hesitant to buy at first but after taking a chance and a few listens really starting to enjoy this album. Enough new and enough of the old to satisfy this diehard Coldplay fan. Happy with my purchase. 😊

- Pop sound. Euuck!

If I wanted to listen to a pop band I'd listen to Maroon 5. No wonder Taraji mistook Coldplay for them at the Super Bowl 50. Still love Coldplay but...

- Different but good :)

It's great, different but it's still nice

- 10/10 for all Coldplay

any Coldplay is good music. it's about the stories told behind all their songs that should matter. love this album

- Coldplay 4 Ever

Love them and this album!! ❤️

- Not horrible, not amazing

Although I appreciate that sometimes you need to differ from the usual style of music, this album just isn't doing it for me. I really loved the earliest Coldplay albums such as Parachutes and Rush of Blood to the Head, and A Head Full of Dreams is just to much pop for me. Much preferred the earlier style of Coldplay.

- Well?

I mean I respect Coldplay as good musicians but I just can't listen to that laid back style song after song. But to get them for the half time show for the Super Bowl? COME ON PEOPLE. I hope everyone brought their pillows. Zzzzzzz......

- Too Bad

Too bad they've lost what got them to where they are! Fan since day one but slowly they've lost me!

- Bed full of screams

Coldplay is the kind of band you'd take home to mom. And she's be like "oh em gee I love him!!" Which would make you not really like him that much anymore, you know what I mean? Anyhoozle, 4 confetti grenades out of 5. This album was more fun than a barrel of Simean Flu monkeys.

- Hymn for the weekend!!

Wow- is the only way to describe this song.

- Great

Loving the fluctuation Coldplay had been bringing to the table. Last album was gloomy & slow and this one is great. Well worth the money!!! Support your artist!

- This is not the Coldplay you're looking for...

I never hated a Coldplay album until this one. Sure their are some good songs like Everglow, Amazing Day, Birds and AHFOD, but songs like Hymn for the Weekend totally ruined the album for me. Coldplay are trying too hard to be a pop band and they just sold their souls with this album. Lyrics on HFTW are just too dumb and immature for Coldplay's standards. Chris Martin is almost 39 years old, and he write songs about getting drunk and high!? I miss their old stuff with beautiful melodies and lyrics... R.I.P. Coldplay

- Hymn For The Weekend.

This song is so amazing! The whole album is amazing. I have been a Coldplay fan for the past few years now and I can say that this is one of their best albums yet. Great work boys!

- Kaleidoscope

I love this album except for the Kaleidoscope track.

- Will be another Great Album!

So far, this Album has far succeeded my expectations. The lyrics are simple and defining, the music, as always, takes two or three times listening to grow on you. Much more to be said about this wondrous collaboration but not enough words in "my head full of dreams". Well done Fellows, awaiting the North American Tour.........any day now????

- Awesome

Adventure of a lifetime is the best!

- 5 Stars

This album is great

- LOVE IT!!!

WOW! every single song in this album just left me speechless. i LOVE this album!!!

- Amazing.

Great album.

- favourites:up&up,birds,hymn/weekend,fun,ever glow.

Coldplay’s pop sound is great, I have been a fan and followed and gotten into all albums. However, and this is meant with no disrespect to their creative job and a great album, but since Mylo Zyloto, Coldplay has progressively gone more and more toward being a pop band versus an alternative rock band. This latter is much more appealing to me as a fan. I am still a fan and I get them on this album. Every song is good…but they need to go back to doing what they do best and this was done on their 1st 3-4 albums. The instrumental songs are a waste for me…I don’t even listen to them. Guys, let the D.J. remix guys do their thing with your stuff to make it pop…go back to your roots and kill it…the old music was masterful and hypnotic…Please…go back. You don’t need to fix or freshen what will never get old or stale. You have now made 3 fun pop albums…all enjoyable and frat in their own way. Time to change back or do something else but please let out your spectacular…these are all great songs but I left out one star as a message that so many fans want the old Coldplay style back…dust off and let let the old shine again!

- Disappointed

I saw Coldplay in concert a few years ago and it was amazing but they've changed... They aren't the same Coldplay I grew up listening too. They've been sucked into the pop era and hopefully they come out of it. I miss the old Coldplay 😔

- Boom

Lots of hate for this Album. None here. Coldplay is a group that has been evolving since the first while remaining distinctly themselves. Very happy with change in sound and the quality of musicianship which has made Coldplay one of the Greatest bands of our time. After being left with the emotional waves of Ghost Stories (amazing) it was the perfect way to pick up where "O" left off in "A Head Full of Dreams". The shift to a brighter sound with a little more oomph has been a very plesant transition. up & Up & UP!

- Omgomgomgomg!!!!!!!!

I am like the biggest coldplay fan in the world. And this will be the best and most powerful feeling album. When you are feeling down, just listen to my 2 favourite tracks. Up&up and Birds. Rock on Coldplay!!!!!🎸🎤🎵🎹

- Excellent

J'adore !

- Wow amazing

So incredible its just amazing! A new colored album who will certainly color the days of more than one! Sincerly, Oliver

- Very Underwhelming

This is definitely one of the weakest Coldplay albums. Tame, glossy pop production over top of very forgettable songs. Everglow is the saving grace of this album — easily the best track. I enjoyed Fun as well, but aside from those two, skip this one.

- So Good

I love the new Album ! Thanks for the good music. Hymn for the weekend Everglow Adventure of a lifetime Up&up Wow !

- Old albums are better

I really don't like this new pop sound they are trying to go for. Their older albums just seem to go better with his voice. The new stuff doesn't sound right to me.

- This is Goodbye...

Before I start I just want to say that I have been a Coldplay fan all my life and that I own all their albums. So without further ado, here it is: 1-A Head Full Of Dreams AHFD is a pretty good song, and adds an immediate impact on the mood of this album. I find this song very motivational. It reminds me a bit of Mylo Xyloto's grand finale, and so, I find it would make a good final song for this album. 2-Birds I find the beat in this song a bit odd, but not bad. I find this song okay, but it lacks something at the end... 3-Hymn For The Weekend This song is easily the worst in this album. The music is not bad, but I detest the rap style they used in this song. I find the lyrics if this song more suggestive from Coldplay than I'm used to, and very meaningless. I would probably like this song very much, if I listened to rap music. But for now, just... Don't. 4-Everglow This very good song makes up for the terrible mistake called Hymn For The Weekend. The piano riff really brings out emotion. It reminds me a bit of Ed Sheeran, but better. The lyrics are very beautiful. 5-Adventure of a lifetime This is a perfect example of Coldplay's new style, but made well. This song really pumps me up, and it actually made me in a really great mood for a few weeks. Great song. Beat that Daft Punk! 6-Fun Not my favourite song of this album. The lyrics are very touching, but the music leaves me indifferent. Although I'm not loving the actual music, I think Tove Lo made an excellent job at singing. It's probably the first time I've really appreciated just how well she sings. She complements Chris's voice perfectly. 7-Kaleidoscope Short, but sweet. This song really makes me forget of all the conflicts in the world. 8-Army Of One Ahhh, this song makes me nostalgic, it reminds me of the good 'ol years of Viva La Vida. The Organ reminds me of Lost! which is why I probably like it so much. My favourite song of the album. 8 1/2-X Marks The Spot (Army of one pt. 2) Don't like this one much very much. I would replace the 3 minutes of this song for 3 more of Army Of One. 9-Amazing Day Makes me think of Coldplay of 2000 For some reason. I feel like it Could have been better. 10-Colour Spectrum The 2015 Life in Technicolour. It replays sounds from every other one. 11-Up&Up I like the violin at the beginning. I really like it. I just fund it sad that they didn't use a more authentic Coldplay style for their Grand Finale. The end of the song really got to me because it made me realise this might be the final album of my favourite band. Before I listened to this album, I knew I would not have a song better than my favourite "Talk" from 2005. I loved Coldplay's rock style of before. I give this album 4 stars. Thank-you Coldplay, for all the beautiful, motivational, and, of course, rock music you gave me during my whole life. Talk was always my favourite song. I'll miss you.

- Coldplay

Definitely brings me back to Mylo Xyloto with the uppidety beats. Was a little worried they'd fall into the "pop" genre, however, I do enjoy the melodies, beats and lyrics. So far I really enjoy "Bird," "Hymn for the Weekend," "Everglow," and "Up&Up," which is quite a good amount for a first listening. Huge fan so I'm extremely biased, but that's my intial thoughts.

- Pure Bliss 💜

Yet another masterpiece 🌟

- This is their best

Last coupl-a-albums were so-so, but this one picked-up the pase. Nice work gang

- A Head Full of Dust

The beginning of the slippery slope down

- Omg the best

This album is so far my favourite !!

- Thought it would be better

I loved Coldplays Albums Mylo Xyloto, Viva La Vida, Parachutes and a Rush Of Blood To The Head but this Album wasn't as good as I thought it would be.

- Great song just 👍🏻

This song is so good. Even my brother and sister like it. It very cool good job coldplay

- Making me smile!

Another quality album from Coldplay, however it does take a few listens to get right into it. "Up & Up” is one of the best songs I’ve heard in years from any band, absolutely infectious and a powerful positive-message ballad. They’re obviously having fun making music still, so hopefully many more quality tunes to come!!!! in the meantime, keep this playing and enjoy every minute.

- Ornery

When you run out of ideas, just release singles every now and then, not albums with a couple of interesting songs with a whole bunch of safari-suit filler. We are your customers...and I ain't buying!

- the best album in the world

A Head Full of Dreams is OMG

- angelic

this album is honestly so amazing. ready to see them live!!

- so love this album!!!!

thank you Coldplay brings joy

- Good but too soon

I like it, but can't help but feel that if they left it a bit longer and let the dust settle from their previous album (only just over a year before), it could have been something more. Still not my favourite album of theirs but I like it. Fave tracks are Amazing Day, A Head Full of Dreams, Everglow and Up&Up. Lead single Adventure of a Lifetime took a few listens but I'm really liking that one now as well.

- Listening Treasure

Tonight I found Aladdin's cave and my ears filled with listening treasure Not a huge fan of Coldplay , but this is awesome Best album of 2016 so far !!!

- Coldplay

The melodies, Chris' vocals, the arrangement, everything about this album is brilliant. Definitely the best album of 2015. Dirty secret is it's better than Adele's...

- A Head Full of Dreams is Superb

A head full of dreams is one of the best albums by Coldplay ever! I think they definitely didn't let us down and delivered a perfect album in just over a year! Honestly I don't think Coldplay have ever made a bad album. A head full of dreams ~ Really nice outro and chorus and has that symphonic upbeat vibe, great song to open up the album Rate: 10/10 Birds ~ Really beautiful chorus and outstanding outro, this song is so smooth and free-flowing and just breath-taking. This is personally my favourite song on this album Rate: 10/10 Hymn for the Weekend ~ A Beautiful collaboration with singer Beyoncé and really brings back memories from 2011's Mylo Xyloto, only wish it was a bit longer in verse 2 Rate: 9/10 Everglow ~ Touching, simple and melodious, probably the song which brings back memories from A rush of blood to the head Rate: 10/10 Adventure of a lifetime ~ Beautiful! A very energetic anthem and 'colourful' which was Chris Martins' basic description of their album Rate: 9/10 Fun (ft.Tove Lo) ~ Really speaks the word 'fun' and who knew that Tove Lo and Coldplay were such a good combination, I never thought that this could be one of the standouts - but it is! Rate: 10/10 Kaleidoscope ~ The only song on this album I don't really get - I left this song of my playlist, I mean who would want to listen to a speech when they are getting through the day? Rate: 7/10 Army of One ~ A beautiful song which really speaks for itself and has a great meaning to it, it really shows Coldplay's diversity in music Rate: 9/10 X Marks the spot ~ Although the lyrics aren't the best, the song is really cool and showcases Coldplay's darker side which we heard on their debut album Parachutes Rate: 9/10 Amazing Day ~ Just 'Amazing'! This song really speaks to you and has string sections which are very prominent in 2008's Viva La Vida Rate: 10/10 Colour Spectrum ~ Sets the sound for the whole album, wish it was a bit longer and just exploded with colour like Life in Technicolour Rate: 8/10 Up&Up ~ When I first heard this on YouTube it was amazing and it still is just beautiful but I wish they didn't take out the symphonic piano riffs and replaced them with generic synths Rate: 9/10 Overall this is an amazing album full of standout tracks I think it is a really great album and can stand alone for itself as well as stand with the greatness with all of the other six LP's. Coldplay was really on the right track with this album and have created something, once again, subtle, beautiful, symphonic and an album which has its own theme just like all of the other Coldplay albums, listed below: Parachutes ~ Haunting A Rush of Blood to the Head ~ Melodious X&Y ~ Unique Viva La Vida ~ Diverse Mylo Xyloto ~ Colourful Ghost Stories ~ Intimate A Head Full of Dreams ~ Transcending A head full of dreams is overall an exceptional album and if it is the last Coldplay album I hope they know that they have made seven beautiful and heart-rending albums which really speak for themselves. Coldplay has never let us down and I hope they continue to make beautiful and emotional music which blows us to pieces (emotionally). A head full of dreams is fantastic and lives up to the standard of the previous six records. Bring on the world tour in 2016! Coldplay have outdone themselves this time, Great Job guys on the utterly sublime album it will go down in history! Overall Rate: 9.5/10

- Disappointed...

This album disappoints me that it was released by Coldplay. Parachutes has always been my favorite album of all time, however to think that the same band that produced Parachutes made this garbage, is unbelievable. Martin sounds like he's having heroin withdrawals. I am ashamed that Coldplay has gone in the wrong direction considering how iconic Parachutes, A rush of blood to the head and X & Y were. I am not sure if mentioning my favorite album was released by Coldplay would be manageable as the embarrassment this album brings me is far too large. 1/5 stars

- Overrated

More pedestrian rubbish from one of the most overrated bands of all time. This mob are even more overrated than Bob Seger. Really saying something here. Coldplay aren't bad, but they're just not good. Admit it, kiddies, you flock to these yobbos because there isn't much else. Go on, admit it.

- Upbeat, Colourful, Masterpiece

What makes Coldplay one of the best bands in the world is the versatility of music they produce. Each album is different, classic and unique in its own way; and represents a natural evolution for the band into the future. A Head Full of Dreams unlocks your inner desire for joy and happiness. All songs on this album are full of energy, colour and diversity.

- Bad, Bad, Bad

- Coldplay never ceases to amaze

Fantastic album again. Never disappointed buying a Coldplay song / album.

- Poorly mastered

A few of the recordings sound dull and hollow. Quality is similar to listening to the radio. Music and songs great but let down again by either poor recording or mastering.

- What is happening??

Coldplay used to be great! The hits of "viva la Vida" and "yellow" were classics, but now they've ruined everything by going into a kind of slow, soppy pop style. It's a real shame they turned out like this, they could've had so much more to give. Guys, next time make an album worth listening to.

- Unbelievably amazing

I love how Coldplay tried new things to their music in this album. The best Coldplay album since Ghost Stories!

- 😍😍

😍😍

- Best album 👌🏾

This album is so good and whoever says otherwise is either lying or has something wrong with their ears. Sorry if I offended anyone 😊 Have a great day x

- Huh.

I listen to BMTH... Cover looks awfully familiar?

- Unhappy

Unfortunately, this is not the Coldplay sound every old school fan loves to hear like the music from Parachutes, Rush of Blood to the Head etc... Changed sound does nothing for me, stick to what you started with lads. Was excited for a new album but feel very let down.

- Pretty good 👌🏻

Still think A Rush of Blood to the Head is the best album, but can't wait to go see this live!!!

- Dissapointing

Having enjoyed all albums up to and including Mylo Xyloto I was a bit nonplussed with Ghost Stories and then very dissapointed with 'A head full of dreams'. The music is now just a mediocre conglomeration of excessive electronic production and looping, lyrics are now inane and are overpowered by the music and background vocalists. Seeing in the production notes that there was collaboration with Beyonce speaks volumes. It feels like this album is just a pop footnote. Nevermind old fans though there's still 'Travis' and 'The Black Chords' if you're after that soulful sound again.

- Brings joy!

Love their unique taste this album is beautiful! Highly recommended💕

- Coldplay do it again!! Carly Coldplayfan

Each album has meaning, AHFOD an album that refreshs the mind and soul yes it says love is a drug in HFW which we can feel listen to this one. im an avid fan of Coldplay since 1999! could this b the best? the album has the band and there close ones singin too arent apple and moses great on the last track? my fave is first song! and please buy the Aussie one that is epic too!! Everglow is certainly full of gorgeous cm and then JB pure joy!! JB fans will love this Album

- Possibly the worst band ever, ever!

Someone told Chris Martin he could sing, sadly he believed them! Just dreadful

- The beat

So so so good

- Awesomely Fantastic, The Best From Coldplay Yet!!

I've liked Coldplay's music from since they first hit the music scene with their tracks "Yellow", "Clocks", and later on bring more hits such as "Viva La Vida" and "Paradise" which grew my interest towards the band even more so over the past decades. They have always had a unique sense of music and how to transfer/touch on human emotions and subjects through their songs…. which is why, i think, the boys have a successful following of fans Globally. For myself personally when I listen to 'Coldplay' it's like they are telling a story that is accompanied by vivid musical treats and a unique collection musical blends which suit the right mood of the season or a listener's emotions….. and this exactly what their most recent albums "Ghost Stories" and right now "A Head Full Of Dreams" very much highlight and the best of Coldplay's talents to date. This new album of theirs is fun, fantastic, and has a real Summer Season feel with a mix of both a party-and-chill out feel to it all…. AND I LOVE IT, THE BEST ALBUM SO FAR FOR THEM!! I give it 5 Stars. It is really great work.

- Thanks for the goosebumps, Coldplay!

Truly amazing – love the new sound!

- Maddest Bangers

Aw old mate Chris you cheeky leg makin 21/10 beats bruh

- The title says it all!

Another great album that flows simply beautifully. Sit back, turn it up and allow the music to fill your head full of dreams!!!

- Amazing

Coldplay have really thought of something different with this album and I absolutely adore it. I'm listening to 'Birds' as I am writing this review and it really lifts my spirits up. The whole album is really different but in a good way of course. I am a huge fan of Coldplay and I think they have turned in the right direction with their music. I will never get tired of the album and in fact all of their albums because I think that they are absolutely amazing. I really love how they have incorporated different artists into this album. It makes the album more interesting to listen to. I cannot recommend this album enough and I cannot wait to see what Coldplay do next!

- Thumbs up

I get that not everyone is a fan of the new sound. I love it! There's some great tracks on here, but if you weren't a huge fan of Mylo Xyloto then I don't think this is for you. The mark of a true great band is one that reinvents its sound and still retains its identity. They can't continue to just produce Yellow year in year out. 'Birds' is one of my favourites so far. Great album and still love these guys

- Noone

Jlshejhjhdnhjifjd should stick to stalking and stealing. He only understands binary, no poetry, no nuance, no coldplay..................

- #ahfod

Wow. This album is catchy, brilliant and unstoppable! From the progressive beats of AHFOD and Birds, to the brilliant guitar work from Up&Up and Fun, to the unforgettable piano of Everglow, this album is great for car trips and waltzing around the home. You will not regret!

- Another great style change

Another different style from Coldplay, with this time bringing an up-beat and fun vibe into the mix. Very different to the slower paced feel to Ghost Stories, but filled with great tracks to lift your spirits

- Coldplay- Amazing Hymn for the Weekend- OMG

As you see Hymn for the weekend was a shocker (in a good way) I love the scene in the music video and that he paired up! I also loved his other songs, I can not wait to see what he does next!

- Awesome album!

Great album for Coldplay to make a comeback. After the disappointing Ghost Stories, this album brings a new approach with colour, excitement and fun. Adventure of a lifetime and hymn for the weekend are standouts. Would definitely recommend.

- Great

Best album ever get it! 😄

- Good Stuff!

👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿

- LOVE IT👌🏻❤️❤️❤️❤️

Every song is amazing and interesting, the way how it sounds and goes. Chris Martin and his band have once again shown they are one of the best of all time.

- Ok

Ok album, that album cover seems familiar though, hmmm I wonder why

- I love it

Best song I have ever heard thank you for making this song

- Masterpiece

What I dislike about the reviews here is previous listeners, writing negatively. I find it hard to comprehend it, as this is best album by far!!!!

- perfection

It's true what they say about the AHFOD tour being the best in the world. Incredible atmosphere, incredible people, incredible music.

- Love this album!

Love the history and the meaning of each song, it's so easy to connect with his music.

- AHFOD

Another Coldplay album I don’t dislike, I like Adventure Of A Lifetime, Hymn For The Weekend, Amazing Day, Up&Up, Fun, Everglow (the radio edit)

- Songs which grow

A fair sprinkling of hit material for this to be rated 5 star. With 'A head full of dreams,' 'Hymn for the weekend' and 'Adventure of a lifetime,' already hits in their own right, and finishing with my favourite, the uplifting 'Up and Up,' this is definitely one Coldplay release you need in your collection.

- Bland

Am I the only one who doesn’t get Coldplay singing it poor and songs bland

- Um.. very disappointed!

Coldplay are a very successful band. However, this album has changed that. Coldplay was originally a pop legend. Now, out of his 9 songs, only 2 of them got the full ratings. 7/9 was actually rated half a star. Now. The songs you should buy from Coldplay should be the old ones, Adventure Of A Lifetime & Hymm For The Weekend. Thanks for reading.

- If you want to be positive

then this album is for you. Amazing band, all of them. Listen to the album as a whole and you will leave uplifted and just generally see things better. I would give billion stars if I could but 5 is the maximum I can.

- No GooD

I think what we have from now is a generation divide my nieces and nephews love it, where as I can't stand it . I'm comparing it to The old Cold Play that I knew and loved . The youngsters only know the current Coldplay so are not judging (A Head Full of Dreams) On their past hits such as paradise and Yellow , Scientist .

- ❤️ Coldplay's latest stuff

I see a lot of people complaining about how Coldplay don't sound the same with their later albums, but personally, I prefer the newer stuff! This album is great!

- Hard to say....

There are some elements of classic Coldplay in here with songs like "everglow" reminding me a lot of songs like "fix you" and "the scientist" and there are other good songs ("army of one" and "amazing day"). But they're not as well remembered as those 2 songs that you hear on the radio until you're sick of the whole album (not going to name names but yes I'm totally talking about "adventure of a lifetime" and "hymn for the weekend"). For every good element of the album there's a bad one but I still feel indifferent. If you like the band for their meloncolly style then this isn't for you but if you're wanting to hear something different, even if bland in places, then why not? It's £4.99 which is under half of the all the songs on the album and makes for a great break after the really depressing ghost stories (which is also pretty good by the way).

- One word for it..

Pure class

- Good

Some Good tracks

- Just beautiful

I L O V E this album, it's simply beautiful. Every song is a classic, I can't stop listening

- AHFOD

This album has Coldplay at their best ok the riffs are pop instead of indie every band change their sound with the times this album is amazing live it's a happy feeling Coldplay are in a great place they could sing Humpty Dumpty and make it work that is how good they are thank you guys

- U2-esque

I do like this album as it sounds like favourite band's music maybe 10-12 year back at the All That You Can't Leave Behnd time. The guitar seems coming straight out from Joshua Tree. Well done Chrisono :)

- Lost their way ?

Sad to say ... I've switched from massive fan to regrettable doubter ... This album is nothing new for Coldplay and the real creativity of their earlier music seems to have been lost. Is this album a contractual necessity to their record label or really something fresh and new? Personally, I think it could be the former. It's such a shame. Not impressed with this one at all guys, sorry.

- Amazing

Another album which you can listen to by Coldplay !

- Pretty good 👍

It’s definitely a step up from Ghost Stories! The reason I’ve given it 4 stars however is because of two reasons. The first would be that their is a mixture of good and bad songs. By bad I mean either boring or not as well executed as others. The songs in this category would, for me, probably be Birds, Adventure of a Lifetime and Fun. However, there are some amazing songs in it too like the title song, Everglow, Army of One and Up&Up along with the 2 great interludes (Kaleidoscope and Colour Spectrum). The 2 I haven’t mentioned, Hymn for the Weekend and Amazing Day, are probably in between good and bad. The second reason would be that it’s mostly what Coldplay have done before (Mylo Xyloto, Ghost Stories) which makes it less engaging. It’s good but I’d like to see more. 4 stars ⭐️

- Fabulous

Never been a Coldplay fan until I heard them at Glastonbury 2016. Then I downloaded this album! Fabulous music - fantastic song writing! Chris Martin genius!

- Phenomenal

When I first listened to this album , it took a little bit of getting used to but in the end I fell in love with it . I've always loved Coldplay and their music , so when I found out this could be their last tour for a long time I was gutted . However , a day before a concert at Wembley my dad surprised me and took me all the way down from Lancashire to see them . It was my first ever concert , and nothing will ever beat it . The colourful theme of the album looked amazing on stage , and they performed fantastically . I will never forget this experience or this album . If anyone does have the opportunity to see it , then please do - it's brilliant and it's a colourful explosion to what may be the end of coldplays work .

- Can't understand the negativity

I really can't understand the negative reviews of this album it's amazing it has something for everyone and having seen them live in Manchester this year it just enhanced how good this album really is forget the negative reviews and just enjoy the album.

- Love it!

Lifelong Coldplay listener here and I disagree with some of the reviews on here. This album is 'typical' Coldplay! You can hear a lot of references to their older tracks in nearly all of the tracks on AHFOD album. That's what makes Coldplay unique! Chill and listen to the album a few more times before ranting about an album that is well written and very infectious! Can't wait to hear what they come up with next!

- Awesome album!

New sound but I absolutely love it!!

- Cold plays Better than One Direction.

They may used to sound better before but it's the 21st century this is a lot better more catchy they have one a BAFTA for these new songs. Go Coldplay 😀😄😎🤑😝

- Absolutely amazing 😍

Just like all of your albums Coldplay, you have nailed it 😱😍

- Coldplay

I didn't used like Coldplay but I like them now I brought there the first one I brought I think they're very good. Dawn

- Perfection❤️

Perfect

- Brilliant, Amazing

Hymn for the weekend and Adventure of a lifetime are one of their best songs in the album I also think that A head full of dreams is a good one as well but I think that Adventure of a lifetime is the best

- Painful tedium

The itunes synopsis talks about 'blissful restraint'. Come on! More like painful tedium. Gave it a listen and was disappointed of the time I will never get back. Nothing new.

- OMGGGG💓💓💓

this album is the best Coldplay album so far! It's got so many great songs that you can chill, dance or sleep to! It's pure perfection, i love Coldplay and will continue to💓💓💓

- RIP Coldplay

Nothing all yellow about Coldplay anymore

- Debut album was the best

Coldplay reinventing themselves was a big mistake, music has no emotion or mood anymore and ridiculous lyrics and image.

- Coldplay

Couldn't get better than this!

- No different from the last

They need to change their sound a bit. It sounds like a repeat of the last album they had. Would not recommend or listern to again

- Miserable twats

What is it with all the haters ? Saying oh not gonna go to their concert blah blah .. Their concert this time round was history in the making they give so much back to fans .. And this album is brill 👍🏼👍🏼❤️

- Legendary

Excellently produced with such a coherent sound throughout the album. So uplifting!

- Inspirational

Most selfless and thoughtful band in the world...❣ •One of a kind• Keep up the good work guys 😘

- Oh yes

Coldplay keep it up good five star good 😊

- LOVE COLDPLAY

Great album on repeat!

- Sad...

I know that everything in life evolves, life changes, we change, i really liked coldplay... i did try to like this album, i really did, but no, im sorry guys...

- Great!

What an amazing album! One of my favourite songs is "up and up", great song and great album overall!!!!

- ❤️❤️❤️❤️

✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻

- Awesome

Best album

- To all the haters👿👿👿

If you don't know Coldplay then why expect the sequel to mylo xyloto( which they don't sound nothing alike). I'm a bipolar type 1 suffer with borderline personality disorder and when I feel myself falling either up or down I listen to Coldplay and have done since parachutes. But a head full of dreams and not just the chart hits the WHOLE ALBUM is so helpful that it picks me up on a different level so I'm so proud they produced this album and by no means I'm comparing them to the Beatles it's a British "band" not group that we should be proud because they will be around for along time. Well done boys love and respect😁😁🇺🇸🇺🇸🇬🇧🇬🇧⚜⚜❤️💛💚💙💜

- Better than Ghost Stories

There's actually a lot of good here: "A Head Full of Dreams", "Birds", "Everglow", "Amazing Day", and "Up&Up" are all pleasant to listen, especially the latter, as long as you're not paying attention to the words too much which are somewhat painfully corny. Also, the guitar playing on "Fun" is reminiscent of X&Y. However, on other tracks, catchiness is relied too heavily on which is alright on first listening but is a little dull after your first few times. Oh, and "Army of One/X Marks the Spot" has got to be the worst Coldplay song I've ever heard.

- Mr

At first i though this album to dance music like, but having heard it live at Wembley i now love it. Yes its got a pop feel to it, but its just so much better than that and full of real emotion and feeling, it will swallow you up in a moment.

- PD27

Hang up your guitars boys,Coldplay are finished, utter crap, don’t bother!!!!..

- BOYS, YOUR GETTING OLD !!!

NOT COLD PLAY - Desperation ?

- Spectacular!

I don't understand how people come up with accusations of how Coldplay have lost there touch in recent years, each song tells a story that continues throughout the album, no doubt probably one of the most beautiful albums I've heard, real Coldplay fans will love this! <3

- Poorest yet - a worrying misstep

Coldplay have regressed badly since their 2008 peak of Viva La Vida or Death and All His Friends and this confirms their lowest point yet. With the exception of the title track, Birds and Adventure of a Lifetime the rest of the album is quite frankly a messy bore bordering on a Chris Martin ego trip so bad that you barely notice the existence of Berryman, Champion and the once sparkling guitar of Jonny Buckling who are buried underneath some trite production that sounds tinny, overproduced and worst of all cheap. That's not to mention some of the lyrical low points listeners have to endure. 'Feeling drunk and high' and endless 'woaaahhs' is a far cry from the simple yet beautiful ambiguities once expressed on their second album A Rush of Blood To The Head. It will please the casual 14 year old Radio 1 listener but for long time fans of the band and all those who defended them from the ridiculous undeserved criticism of the past, A Head Full Of Dreams is a real kick in the teeth for them. Sadly on this occasion, Coldplay have merited the every bit of criticism that comes their way. Stay well away.

- Good

Good

- Hymn for Peace!

Best Songs from coldplay is cool and what is more awesome is they collaborate with other stars

- Coldplay Yan Eh!

Power 🙌🙌

- This album is SUPERB!

I love this album so much! Almost all of the albums of Coldplay are great! I love their music! Thank you for making my day everyday!

- ARTPOP

The concept looks like ARTPOP.

- excellent album! 💯👏🏼

it's just a very well-put album and a very feel-good album consisting of well-written and amazing songs. 😁✨
