Streisand's voice may have lost some of the ability to sustain those highest notes, but she knows her instrument well and uses it to make the music and lyrics work with what it has become. Just listen to "Make Someone Happy" and "Where Do You Start?" to see what I mean. The version with the quartet is so beautifully produced and being close-miked, seems so intimate to me as the listener. Here's to life! Here's to the incomprable Barbra Streisand!
This is one of Barbra's finest album. She is truly the greatest music talent ever. Wertyipasdfhj has to be totally deaf to think these vocals need work All Hail the Queen for delivering time and time again for her fans
Seriously folks, listen to Shirley Horn's Here's to LIfe from the early 1990's and then Loving You from 96. Tell me that this album is not a copy/re-make. The sound is identical or extremely close on many many tracks. I don't discount the talent here, but was expecting something a little more original from Barbra and Diana Krall. Nothing new for me here. Sorry.
Grab a glass of wine, lay back and bathe in the beauty that is. This is quite possibly the best album I have heard from the legendary lady.
Beautiful deluxe album; carefully arranged for both orchestra and jazz , Streisand is at the top of her performing talents. Depending on your mood, jazz arrangement or orchestra will appeal. Don't think twice, this album , with love, IS the answer!

This is the Barbra that I love to hear. I am glad that they have released another album with her unique stylings. I could listen to Barbra for hours and never get tired of her songs. I transferred this album to my iPod which I can play in the car and can listern to her while I am driving from here to there. Beautiful.
