- Ms

I LOVE traditional Christmas Carols! This is the PERFECT album if you love the songs just exactly the way they were intended to be :--)

- Fantastic!

As much as I was loathe to listen to and like Susan Boyle, I really like her singing style. I especially like her rendition of "Don't Dream It's Over", originally by Crowded House. I origianlly listened to this song performed by Sixpence None the Richer and fell in love with it. I just love how Susan added a much more orchestral and choral feel to it, making it poweful. I feel that, after listen to Susan's performance and Sixpence's, Susan put's so much more depth, feeling, and meaning into the lyrics. I also really liked her performance of "Hallelujah". "The First Noel" was just beautiful! Susan sang it so gently, and delicately, really placing the listener into the True meaning of the Holiday Season. Brava, Susan, Brava!

- A Beautiful Voice

Ms Boyle has such a pure sweet sound. My only criticism is that her vocals are almost secondary to the background music. Her voice seems a step softer than the music. Her voice doesn't pop the way it should though out. another reviewer called the performances uninspired. I think that is a good way to put it. The music is good, the voice is good, but it lacks the emotion and feeling it should have.

- Eh. Sophomore jinx?

Don't Dream It's Over is the most beautiful and original interpretation on this album. The rest has the pace of a diurge, even the usually mid-tempo Do You Hear What I Hear is slowed to molasses. Ugh. I'd rather listen to something else over the holidays.

- please dont give as a "gift"

no denying she has a great voice... however, this album has no christmas CHEER to it. its slow and feels like every other person who redid these songs. it doesn't feel like Susan put herself into any of these songs... its too bad wish her the best though.

- Holiday Hit

Nice gift for my sister who enjoys her. She's not my favorite singer as I tend towards the improvisors not the traditionalists which I believe Ms. Boyle to be.

- Awesome

Susan Boyle has a beutiful voice and this album shows her talent. Definately a 5 star singer!

- beautiful voice, yet lacking depth and emotion

I was dissappointed with this album. Susan has such a lovely voice, yet this music is flat If you want to hear Halleluja done with emotion, listen to Jeff Buckley, A side note... hallelujah is definitely not a Christmas song. Listen to the words.

- Simply Beautiful

I am not into purchasing christmas music as it is never the same as you heard them growing up, but as big of a fan I am of her talent, this was simply an outstanding album!!!!! I would recommend to anyone to pick up this album. Thank you Susan for bring the world your beautiful voice.

- What happen?!

I loved susan's strong and powerful voice. I spoke to me, it made me feel something within me. And now i must ask: what happened?! The strong woman that stood up and proved to everyone there that thought negetivly about her wrong. She proved that you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover. And now i don't feel a thing. Its beautiful don't get me wrong but where is that bright, full of sound that i heard on that stage. I want that susan boyle not the soft one the loud and proud one

- Great Holiday Album!

It's so great to see someone like Susan hit it big. Too often we see musicians hit it big because of their apperance rather than voice. Susan comes from such humble roots and is an insperation to us all. I hope her next Album will be of original material! Good Luck Susan! I hope "A Perfect Day" hits the radio stations soon.

- Superb in all the right ways

Her voice as soothing as ever with all it's feeling and comfort. A gift to listen to someone who actually knows how go sing.

- Awesome, but unoriginal

I love her voice it is very beautiful, but I just wish she would start recording her own music, she can't get by with making copies of good sofa forever!

- Oh the Gift you Have

Amazing, Boyle was sent from Heaven above. This is a must have. Her voice fills your soul with peace.

- SUPERB

Susan is just a gift from God . She is superb. ! Just Unique! God Bless Her!

- Really not much different from her previous

Susan Boyle has returned again with 'The Gift' which seems like it should be a christmas album, but it's not really. Again, ole' Susan starts out the album with another cover, which turns out to be Lou Reed's 'Perfect Day' which once again is ruined by Susan Boyle's slow, old touch to it. The second track is yet another cover, which is 'Hallelujah' which is much too over the top for what it is, she just glams it up so much with the background singers, & everything. In the end, 'The Gift' is another Susan Boyle album that really isn't that great.

- "The Gift"

Truley a Gift I found in this CD. What a heavenly voice and truley this focuses on the blessing that God has given her. We are all blessed to hear her sing.

- What a disappointment!!!

Susan Boyle has such a powerful voice but she seems to be holding back in the album. I found it to be very melancholy and down right boring. I can't believe I paid money for this.

- Wonderful and Warm

This album is wonderful, warm, amazing, and a GIFT to life. It is a gift because of these songs. These songs are not hers, but wonderful for whoever sings them. Good job, Susan. And you should NEVER make fun of these songs ever because, these are the songs of the Lord. Sing to him like we ALL should, Susan! You go girl!

- Almost but No Enough Punch

This is good album to listen to but it seems to be missing the FIRE that the Susan Boyles of the World bring. The I Dream a Dream shows heart and Passion and, of course, sheer Volume. This is good, but seems to miss that Knock you Off Your Feet and Take Your Name attitude that we know she is capable of doing. My rating is Average (which really means that I expected so much more - probably a 4 to 5 stars for an Average performer) so Susan, get to work, prove to us (and Simon Cowell) that you can Bring It On again.

- I had the pleasure of meeting Susan and ever since then....

She is unusual, yes - but does she have talent? truthfully? You have to say a resounding yes. She is very kind in person also I am not sure what these negative reviews are about. She looks well normal... but nothing normal about her talent. I laughed when someone said this is "manufactured" are you mad? Susan is not a product of of some hit factory or image consultant .. you get a normal person who has up until now not had a great life and wasn't taken seriously as a signer making it good. Its a true success story and she is famous for one thing as to why we are here on Itunes... her music. If you like listening to talent then buy this album. By the way my brief meeting proved one thing... she is a genuine person.

- The Gift

Enchanting!

- Rocklover

I AM a fan of rock. Forme to be blown away by classical music is a rare thing.

- Borred

I find this album very dull and borring. almost depressing!!

- Beautiful Voice

Always soothing. A pleasure to listen to. I never get tired of listening to her clear, soft voice.

- She has a gift

For those of you that don't know Susan, she is a rare gift to mankind. I rejoice in her talents. Thank you Susan. And for the naysayers, I would like you to find this amount of success.

- Pure Beauty

This truley showcase her crystal clear voice, untouched by the technological gimmicks on which so many singers rely. The production is a spare canvas against which her pure, gorgeous vocals are displayed to wonderful effect. BRAVO!

- The Gift

Weird! Susan Boyle has a beautiful voice. However, I wonder if she really understands what some of the non-holiday selections are really about. If you read the liner notes, she does admit that "Hallelujah" is an abstract choice. But she presents "Don't Dream it's Over" as a party song, yet sings it so slowly and sadly that I can't figure out what kind of party's she's going to. And "Perfect Day" is a song about a breakup. Bizarre choices. I'm all for abstract choices and irony, but I don't get this.

- Ashley ....

Its an amazing album... #3 is actually sung with my husbands partner on the ambuance amber stassi. As for she did an amazing job.. She has nothing but good things to say about Ms. Boyle so she is just as beautiful as her music.. Please take time to listen to her music and let susan introduce Amber Stassi....

- Must Have For Susan Boyle Fans

Susan Boyle covers classic Christmas favorites on this, her second album. It is a wonderful album for her devoted fans as well as for someone who would like to add a new Christmas album to their collection. Although the arrangements of the songs are not incredible, Susan's voice is. This second album might lack a little of the magic of her debut album, however, how can you not love her voice and enjoy listening to anything she sings? As the title suggests, Susan's voice truly is a gift.

- Amazing

Fantastic album, she has an amazing voice

- I'm Speechless!

Thank You LORD for the Incredible Gift Know as Susan Boyle!

- Very Nice Follow Up

Susan Boyle's voice evokes emotion and is easy to enjoy. It need not break new ground nor stun the world with something novel. Just listen and appreciate.

- Nothing like it

There is absolutely NOTHING like this in the music field. She has found a niche and it is beautiful. Her voice is so pure and lovely. A lesser singer could never upstage Lou Reed on his own song, but she has with Perfect Day. While Lou's is incredible and full of feeling, Susan's is lithe, sweet and piercing. The entire album is so completely set apart. Just listen to a few and you will be won over.

- Auld Lang Syne!!!!!

What a wonderful rendition of this classic song..... Well done! Mostly a rehash of good or awesome standards and two of the songs could not be called Christmas songs but overall a good solid effort. Those reviewers who gave this a single star need to give better reasons other than the lack of songs only sung by susan Boyle.

- Garbage

Utter garbage. Good music for a hotel bar though

- Heaven sent!

My wife made me get this for our Christmas party. I am glad I listen to her!

- Yuck

Awful

- Talent and Grace

This album is a showcase for a woman that feels the music all the way to her toes. Sweet spirit and enjoyed the harmonizing with the larger choir - very inspirational. I am glad the Lord has opened this door for her.

Love it

- A gift to me!

My mom recently passed away and the song she used to sing to me as I was growing up and continued to sing throughout life was "Make me a Channel of Your Peace." Imagine my surprise to find out this song is on Susan's Christmas CD. Thank you, Susan for that gift to me!

- Beautiful Music and a voice that can sing it.

Susan Boyle is certainly a phenomenal singer. Though she is relatively new to the industry, got there in a flash, and for sure is still a diamond in the rough, her voice is perfect for this genre of music. A shocking surprise on this album is the remake of Crowded House’s “Don’t Dream It’s Over”. I love the original but Susan’s version is nothing short of angelic. The rest of the song selection provides a subdued, sweet and mystical trip through some of the more common Christmas Songs. It is certainly a journey to enjoy. Bravo Susan!

- Hallelujah!

Susan Boyle adds a restrained, yet peaceful touch to this album, but crosses me as the type of artist who scrambles for the last two or three songs to make a complete set. After listening to the complete album I thought it 50% effort, 3% the pure joy of singing, and 47% random selection. I mean, what does "Don't Dream It's Over" have anything to do with Christmas?

- like wat the hell

wats so good about this anyway my teacher always plays songs by her and they just make me go to sleep like really

- Great as lullabies

Susan has a very soothing and pretty voice. This would be a good album for you if you like soft quiet music playing in the background while you cozy up to the fireplace. Unfortunately, this is not what I wanted. I wanted to hear power behind her voice but what I hear is a quiet and sweet voice song after song. There is not a single song that is upbeat and lively. Each track sounds very similar and I have fallen asleep every time I have played this album! Cures my insomnia! LOL

- Love it

Beautiful voice

- Not So Hot on Previews at least

I haven't and won't buy this album, as I listened to the 30 second previews of all the songs and was very disappointed with it. This woman has a Wonderful voice, but the engineering of the album makes the music as loud or louder than her voice, which is a real mistake! Her voice is a jewel that should be front and center stage, and should not be covered up by music that is too loud compared to her voice. I'm disappointed with the sound of the samples at least (plus I'm underwhelmed with the choices of songs for the holidays, as most of these songs are not 'traditional' holiday songs, at least not here in America!). I hope she comes out with another album and better engineers who give her voice center stage like it deserves!!

- Doesn’t Disappoint!

Beautifully done. Glad to add it to my Christmas music collection

- She is the one…

I I only work (I am a graphic designer) listening Susan Boyle… So motivating!!! No words, just feelings... Thank you Susan for being so inspiring..
