- Incredible

Never gets old for me, top 3 for me with rush of blood and viva la vida.

- i love coldplay and when you listen to them it brings back memories

this is straight facts

- Listen to Midnight people!

Come on, listen to Midnight people, it is a really good song.

- Amazing

This album is amazing! so many good songs, midnight, magic, ink so goooood!

- Come on!

Just to let you know, this album is an introspection in Chris’ mind. This is not, Rock AT ALL but still, it’s Coldplay, what they are at that moment. Melancholic, Sad, Let down, Emotional. If you are thinking that Coldplay are still the same band with all the years passed, music released and experiences, then you’re completely lost in you’re thoughts. Get back on experiencing the flow of the songs, the lonely guitar riffs, and angelic voice of Chris. I can understand that you may not like it, but you just can’t say it’s “NORMAL POP” cause it’s not. It has actually a soul. Take a listen 😉 Love and Peace ❤️ ✌️

- Masterpiece

Not many albums that can be played from beginning to end non stop.

- Something new

Coldplay tries something new in every album. It's a modern version of parachutes, but I must admit it's not as good

- Late Arriver

So grateful to have Coldplay music in my life I like it all. Like another reviewer captured so well.... i want the progression and change ... I don't want the same album again and again This is great. I am no expert but I Just bought the kaleidoscope EP. Seems to fuse the old with the new and it is so good. So good Thank you for the music. Please don't stop.

- takes awhile

let it grow on you.

- This is it!

Of all coldplay albums i feel like this had the most meaning in it. The songs all had a sad and solemn feel to it and it was extremley powerful. Really enjoyed this album as it marks the time when coldplay not only explores a new genre of music but also signals the near ending sadly

- Just beautiful!!

This album is one of my favourites of all time. Highly recommend you listen to it.

- What is this?

They really dropped the ball with this one. This album is actually terrible.

- Blegh...

So bad. Can I get a refund? There is nothing creative on this album. Sounds like a monkey could have written it.

- Great

It's a great album. I like the vibe. I don't get why there's a lot of bad reviews in this.

- Ghost Stories

Inspiring

- Yes.

buy it.

- Jj

Coldplay never let us down...again a great album!!!

- At Least they Tried

Coldplay has been and will remain one of my favourite groups of all time, and this album is why. Even though the album was lacking in the ways viva la vida or mylo xyloto had to move an audience, Coldplay realized that they are still growing as a group and did not settle on their last peak. They continued trying to move forward and progress their music. Although the album was pretty bad, Coldplay still gets massive kudos for not accepting where they were musically and trying to move forward.

- Coldplay

I've always been a fan of Coldplay, but as of late my admiration for their beautiful music has been taken to a whole other level. I remember my first ever concert when Coldplay came to my hometown. I remember when Chris Martin decided to sing my favourite song, the song that always brings me to tears, Us Against the World, only feet away from me. Lately I've listened to all of Coldplay's albums, even their oldest album titled "Ode to Deodorant". What I'd like to say is that during my listening I truly began to understand and embrace the beauty of not only Coldplay's music, but in all music in general. One thing that I admire about Chris Martin and Coldplay is that their music is raw and true. And in the latest circumstances, with Chris Martin's divorce, it would only be fair to release an album that stayed true to who he is. I'd like to remind all those haters to remember that the beauty is about the purity of the music and that this album is what Coldplay has become. I love their old albums and I love this one as well, and by now means do I intend to undermine anybody's opinion. All in all, this is a great album just like all your others. Keep it up Coldplay. And thank you for creating the memory of a lifetime. Thank you for all the beautiful songs you've created in the past and hopefully many more to come in the future. Thank you Coldplay. P.S. Lately I've been loving Strawberry Swing. Wow!! What a great song!

- The one song

I only heard the song Sky Full of Stars and I love it. I haven't heard the rest of the album and I don't think I want to and will hear it.

- Cold play's dark side of the moon

This album is Cold Play's dark side of the moon album. In 20 years from now this album will still be listened over all others very very pop and alteady outdated Cold play's albums. Also Amazing musical details for my audiophile side in me.

- What happened???!!!

I am a big Coldplay fan but this is just electronic sound, it's like they have no inspiration anymore:( What happened to the songs like Clocks or Viva la Vida or Speed of sound or Every teardrops a waterfall??? I love you Coldplay, but this just wasn't your best work. Some people are saying, "This is the way songs are like now" but songs by Coldplay were supposed to be different, that's one of the reasons I fell in love with your music. But I don't believe Coldplay is lost forever, anyone who believes otherwise isn't a true fan.

- ?

They've lost their touch. There is nothing more to say.

- Love it!

I've been a fan of Coldplay since day one and I think that every song they produce is amazing. I love this album even if it's a bit different of the others.

- A Sky Full Of Stars!

It's the one I love of this album. Only 9 tracks. Why? I want something like "Viva La vida"!

- Great album

Wasn't sure to buy this album or not but went with my gut and downloaded. Have to say its damn impressive and Coldplay continue to grow and mature and the music speaks volumes. Defo 5 stars from me. Can't wait for the next album !!

- Beautiful Album

I think this is my favourite album by Coldplay because of the dark vibe it has to it. Would definitely recommend

- One of their best

To me it is a different and new Coldplay sound, but you can hear some familiar vibes from earlier tunes. Nice, cool album for a relaxing listen.

- Amazing.

Coldplay is the heart. It always describe what I feel.

- Love it!

Not sure I understand the negative feedback. I really like this album. Great album!

- Love it!

Short n sweet! Magical! Can't get enough. Call it magic!

- Ghost Stories

Meilleur album de l'année

- They changed

Coldplay definitely has changed, and I do like some of these songs but I miss the older Coldplay ( because there definitely is no songs as good as Viva la Vida on here ). I hope they go back to their older style.

- Wow

Perfect just perfect

- Been here awhile.

They have slowly crept into the pop vibe of music oppose to their magical alternative music. I would give one star based on the sound of the album as it is well horrible. But I appreciate their hardwork through these years and their old songs so I have to give three stars. I know the old Coldplay will not return but hey at least I have their old songs. Better than nothing I suppose.

- Okay

When I heard the first few new songs before this album came out I had such high hopes but after listening to it, its only mediocre, probably my least favourite album although i will always love coldplay I hope they step it up for their next album.

- Great Album

I have never bought an entire album on iTunes before. I usually just pick up individual songs from various artists. I am not a huge Coldplay fan although I have liked various songs by them now and again over the years. It seems like a lot of hard core Coldplay fans are disappointed with this album and they are certainly entitled to their opinion. All I can say is that I keep listening to this album on my bus commute to and from work and the time just flies by. I feel like I am listening to a story. A story about love, and heart ache, and hope. Well done Coldplay. Well done.

- Hojin

What an album. Personally think it's the best album yet. Combines the sound of Parachutes with some nifty producing.

- Coldplay new CD

Very different from other albums, but I love it anyway! Soft music.

- Disappointed

I really miss their old style; not just the feel of their old songs but the genre. I don’t think Coldplay qualifies as alternative these days it’s too pop and dance-y.

- Un chef d’oeuvre!

Cet album de Coldplay a été pour moi une révélation. La chanson « A sky full of stars » est un pur chef d’oeuvre de même que le reste de l’album.

- Wow!

Whether you believe this album was born out of the ashes of a failed realtionship between Martin and Platrow or not (the lyrics would suggest so) Cold Play has one again created an Album that draws you in and keeps you drawn in from start to finish with songs that are both unique and familiar....AWESOME ALBUM!

- Doubter at first, but now I believe

I'm a huge fan of old Coldplay (X&Y, Parachutes, Rush of Blood) and didn't want to give this new album a chance. After I bought it and listened through all of it I really liked it. It's different - don't even think of it as Coldplay, just good music - and I appreciate it the more I listen to it. Some of the tracks are duds, but some are amazing - Oceans and O for example. It might be a breakup album but for some reason it makes you feel good listening to it. It's chill, easy to listen to, and unpretentious. It leaves me with hope for Coldplay afterall.

- It's fine

So I read the other reviews and almost everyone rated this album poorly. The first thing I have to say to those people is OH BOOHOO so maybe it's not the Coldplay we all know and love but the songs are still rhythmic and beautiful. If this album had come out by anyone else most people would like the songs themselves. All you Coldplay fans are to caught up in Coldplay's old songs that you're not even really listening to the songs. Yes, it's not what I expected either from Coldplay but the songs are beautiful and all you fans out there should stop putting down this album. Overall, I like this album and I'm glad Coldplay is pushing they're boundaries a little. :)

- Sweet

I am a fan of Coldplay since their debut album. Mylo Xyloto was disappointing and shallow. It seems they were solely focusing on becoming big at any cost. The quality of their music was not up to their talent. This album is more mellow and it totally fits who Chris Martin is. They finally gave up the thrashy/pop sound that was completely drowning his voice. I originaly rated the album badly when I heard the first release: 'Magic'. That song is bland, repetitive and depressing. However, I encourage you to listen the rest of the album. It is worth it. An album to fall in love with Coldplay again. :)

- You can do better music

Coldplay used to have many good songs per album. In this album, I think there are only 2-3 good songs which is no good. Maybe it's a breakup album, so we are not expected to hear many, many happiness. But good luck on your next album, you are able to make good music. (and please, don't change your music genre, just evolve)

- Coldplay

I have heard these guys for a while and even though the style of this album might be a bit different from there Earlier ones it still is great. Including master pieces such as Magic and Ink as well as True love.

- Definitely different, but still worth a listen.

Coldplay has certainly changed since the days of A Rush Of Blood To The Head and X&Y, but in my opinion, I like each of Coldplay’s albums in different ways. Ghost Stories has a different sound to it alright, but as I listen to it more, the more I find myself enjoying it. Well done Coldplay — all of your albums are fantastic.

- Will gain it's due recognition with time

Many long time fans of Coldplay seem to be disappointed with this album based on the reviews, but this album has gained Coldplay a brand new fan. Coldplay was never the kind of band that I would be into, but since I heard the first few singles off the album, I became very intrigued by the sound of this album. Ghost Stories as a whole is a darkly beautiful, in a way understated album that builds off an atmospheric sound and maintains it's cohesiveness through not just it's musical resonance, but through it's lyrical narrative as well. It's a very well put together album, that will perhaps gain acclaim once it begins to 'grow' on people; as is the case in most great albums. I love magic, another's arms, and sky full of stars. It's very rare, especially in contemporary music, that a whole album can tell a story and make the listener feel like he is a part of a dialogue or narrative. Ghost Stories is in that sense a beautiful album, as the aforementioned songs are the focal points of the narrative. Overall, I really enjoyed this album, and it made me fall in love with music and the art of album making once again. In a time where singles and meaningless lyrics are dominating the music scene, Ghost Stories is a gift to those who seek meaning in music. I will definitely be checking out more of Coldplay's discography after this album.

- Progressive Coldplay!

Was skeptical at first. I'm glad I've given it several listens. You need to forget the old Coldplay or you'll be disappointed. It's a different kind of Coldplay for sure, but it's nice to see the band moving their sound forward. For better or worse (for some) I like direction the band has gone in. Looking forward to the next album already to see where they take their sound.

- Haunting!

Its simply beautiful music. ❤️

- Touch you deeply

Amazing album, soulful, passionate, powerful and sublime. Coldplay is truly the worlds very best at this moment.....

- Love this album!

Its great that there's always something a little bit different with each album Coldplay release. This is a very easy to listen to album, and it gets top marks. Am lovin' listening to it over and over

- Just beautiful!

Love this album!

- Kinda Disappointed

I have got every song by Coldplay since they first came out. Unfortunately Mylo Xyloto started to go away from the genre that I had grown to love. However I was still excited to hear that they were releasing Ghost Stories. Unfortunately like most good old bands these days, they have swung very much from an alternative sound to a pop sound. Leading me to only enjoy the track Midnight on this album. I am thoroughly disappointed that my favorite bands continue to swing from this style to a pop style.

- Amazing 😱

This is truely one of there best albums

- Best Album Yet

The album is amazing, every song, especially the hidden track are perfect. Well done Coldplay :)

- Greeeeeeat

U guys are amazing OMG pls come to Australia if you go on tour. Great album, worked hard on this one :-) u guys are my inspiration :)

- A little disappointed

I understand that Coldplay tried to go for a different sound in the album, though I am really not a fan. I loved the energetic, bubbly sound they had before and now I am just disappointed. Some of the songs did grow on me after a while, but I really hope they go back to their 2008 sort of sound!

- Cold play is awesome

The last two songs are really great they put force into singing it which all the other songs lacked a bit

- unoriginal and uninteresting

Coldplay can occasionally do something interesting. But not this time. Sounds like the well has run dry. And what is it with 'A Sky Full of Stars'? It starts off okay and then descends into an insipid, stale Euro-trash dance beat. Memo: Coldplay are one of the most overrated bands of the last twenty years.

- The best ever - full of beauty!

My heart sings listening to this album. Thank u for creating such an exquisite collections of songs… Keep creating from the heart & you will never fail! H

- 💙COLDPLAY💙

I can't find a song I don't like and I am quite picky... I love Coldplay in general, but this is really to my liking. It had some nice soft music ( nice to relax to 😃. )

- Coldplay - Ghost Stories

"The idea of Ghost Stories, for me, was "how do you let the things that happen to you in the past – your ghosts – how do you let them affect your present and your future?" Because there was a time when I was feeling like they were going to drag me down and ruin my life, and the lives of those around me. I was very lucky to meet a very good sufi teacher who started to introduce the idea of "if you sit with your experiences and the things you've been through, they alchemize." At the time he said that, I didn't really know what that meant, but I trusted that it would work, and the more that I was learning about that, the more music just started flowing through." -Chris Martin Ghost Stories is... a different Coldplay album, to the say the very least. Fans of Coldplay are used to the big booming noises, not too rarely a sick guitar riff like in 'Fix You' or 'Violet Hill", but Coldplay have always had soft songs. Coldplay brings their soft songs out in Ghost Stories, with A Sky Full Of Stars being what I would call the remains of Mylo Xyloto and the Coldplay that fans may be more familiar. This is definitely not a band you'd play at a club, as everyone would get super bored and probably go to sleep. But Ghost Stories is an experience best served in a listening session. Whether it's alone or with someone, you'll certainly get more out of it. Coldplay are always ambitious to try new things, and some fans may leave and others may come in. Now onto the songs of the album. The album starts with 'Always In My Head', which is pretty slow and settles you in for what's to come. 'Magic' the first single from this album, is in the number 2 slot, and is enjoyable with a steady lay out. 'Ink' is a small little song, but it's very colourful and grabs your attention with the acoustic guitar and beat that sounds different but cool. 'True Love' which is the third single from Ghost Stories, is a moderate speed song, after your second listen, you realise how depressing the song is and the guitar plucking at the end is satisfying. 'Midnight' which was one of the first songs revealed from the album, isn't your typical Coldplay song. Chris and co are autotuned to robotic sounding levels, and may seem boring to some, but the synthy bit at the end is good to the ears, especially live where it's made to look like Chris is playing a harp. 'Another's Arms' sort of returns to the style of Always In My Head, but just about a different topic. The song is enjoyable but might not be remebered so highly like some of the other songs. 'Oceans' is a very simple piece, with a guitar and a beat, if you can call it that, that sounds almost like bells. Electronic bells. Violins come in at later stages to make a satisfying piece, but there is a minute of build up at the end of Oceans into the next song which is annoying if you're sitting down and listening to it. 'A Sky Full Of Stars' which is the second single from this album, is probably the most familiar piece and least familiar piece on this album. As it returns to sort of Mylo style, with an EDM influence from Avicii, it seems out of place on the album. Nonetheless, the song isn't too bad, I just feel like it fit the theme of the album. 'O/Fly On' is by far the simplest piece on the album, even compared to Oceans. It consists of a piano and a few bird sounds. Despite the simpleness of the piece, it is beautiful. There's something about the way Chris sings this piece, like it feels personal with the audience. Just to clarify, the first part of the song is called 'Fly On' and after the two minutes of silence in the middle (which is a bit long for it if you ask me), O starts playing. It would've been just as easy to make two tracks but that's just me. Overall, Ghost Stories is a great album; Coldplay went for something different and you have to be a fan of all of Coldplay's work to enjoy this album at it's finest. Selling nearly 3 million copies of the album already is a pretty big thing in this day and age. Coldplay are always never afraid to try new things, and you have to admire them for it. If you're a Coldplay fan, check the album out, but if you're going to buy a one-off album from Coldplay, I would recommend another album because not all of Coldplay's work is like this. Well done guys; great album! 4/5

- Love it!

Great album.....again

- Astounding Music

I am absolutely blown away with this album. What an amazing singer. This is a whole new era of music.

- its pretty good

There are a couple of songs i like on the album. I understand they want to make it sound "fresh" but i miss the old coldplay

- Coldplay ROOOOOOOOOOCKS

Coldplay is one of my favourite artist of all time and I love his new song magic. You know what would be cool, If they could actually put some of coldplay's songs on my number 1 favourite show EVER, Adventure time. (well i mean the 1986 transformers movie got some real songs in it!).

- Ok....

I enjoyed most of the songs but they all sounded too similar

- seriously exceptional

This album stand out as the best soundtrack I have ever had the pleasure of encountering. My words can not express the brilliance of this albums artistic expression and the way it has moved me so deeply.

- just bad

this just sounds like a bad attempt at an imogen heap album without the creative lyrics and unique sound its like listening to one long boring song for 43 minutes

- In Love With A Sky Full Of Stars

Best Song Ever From Coldplay Please Make More Music Like A Sky Full Of Star

- What a rebound!

Great return to form from Coldplay

- Another Great Album

I love the way that this band’s music has evolved over the years. It’s great that this album has similarities with earlier albums but I love that the music still continues to take us to another place. It’s great, they take us on a journey and we follow this creative genius. Be happy go with it people and don’t make them be who you want them to be.

- Amazing

I don't know how Coldplay can keep producing this amazing music they make but it's brilliant and whatever money it costs it's worth it. I strongly advise listening to as much Coldplay as possible, they are my favourite band!

- I get it

Yeah its different! So take a little time to get into it, Relax, lay back, grab a nice drink, forget about work and all your worries and drift away to a lovely place.

- Steph Wigg

Fly On makes me cry everytime I hear it. It's incredible.

- Perfect

Coldplay has something special that not many other bands have nor ever will have and I hope and doubt they'll never lose it

- Breathtaking

Whenever I hear Chris Martin sing, I think to myself "Is this an angel singing?" That's how wonderful this band is. Keep up the good music, Coldplay!!

- Ghost stories classic👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻😊

Ghost stories one of the best albums ever! My favourite are Midnight,Sky Full of stars and true Love ❤️.

- Love it!

I'm really loving this new style of Coldplay! I listen to this album almost everyday as it's so soothing! Thank you Coldplay again for the amazing music you produce!

- Incredibly original!

I'm absolutely loving this album! It's so unique and interesting! They've explored so many new rhythms and tones..... And it all sounds great together! When I first heard that Coldplay was releasing a new album, I honestly thought it was gonna sound exactly like their other albums, but I have been very happily surprised with this new insight into what Coldplay has to offer. Amazing stuff boys!

- awsome relaxing true

fan tas tic

- Amazingly amazing

Keep it up guys amazing songs

- Mesmerising

Hauntingly beautiful. From start to finish.

- NEVER EVER QUIT COLDPLAY

This is the best band ever and I don't ever want them to quit, please Make some long and beautiful songs in your next studio album (A head full of dreams)👍

- ❤️

Love this album! Never disappoint. ❤️ Recommend it to everyone.

- Disappointing but great live!

I have had a tumultuous rship with a coldplay - loved their first 4 albums but there is no Yellow on this one - I am essentially a U2 fan but so was Chris M - I can't help but suggest Chris shld talk to Bono and co as they are due for a Joshua Tree and this does not cut it! You were great on the Voice though and set the place on fire so there is still hope...

- Soo beautiful...

Love this album so much 😍. True Love is stunning and I tear up every time I hear it. Thanks Coldplay 💙

- bit disappointing

I love Coldplay but found this album a bit of an anti climax, Sky Full of Stars is the only upbeat song on the album & the rest sounds like relaxation music. I don't think its as good the rest of their albums

- Soooooo Anti-climatic

Im a massive Coldplay fan and was so hyped for this album. When i finally got it and listened to it i was incredibly unsatisfied. Nearly all the songs sound the same. I especially dislike sky full of stars, its just not coldplay. I honestly think they should have stuck with the sounds of x&y and viva la vida or death and all is friends. The only highlights of the album were midnight, always in my head and another arms.

- I love it !!!!

I absolutely love the song a sky full of stars I play it every time when I go on iTunes. I love the album aswell.

- An Album For Broken Hearts And Dreams

Deep sad feelings and love from the bottom of Coldplay’s heart. My favourite album of all time. Makes you feel like your on a little boat in the middle of the sea, looking up at the stars with nothing around, hopping to find your loved ones.

- AMAZING!

You will love this album and it's worth every cent!

- Not what it should be at all

They've overused synthesisers to a whole new level. I've loved all of coldplay's albums before and I get that this one is meant to be melancholy and all that. And I get that they wanna appeal to pop culture with EDM, and synths and all that, but it's overdone. Martin's voice for sone reason isn't really working for the slow songs, and guitar is barely evident. These songs don't stand up to songs in previous albums, the songs that made them famous. I hope they bounce back in a couple of years time and give us the music we really want to hear. The coldplay of old.

- I love it, but one question

Why is there a huge gap between O and the ending of the album? It sounds like something missing (and apparently, there is) and it's kind of off-putting. But as a whole, love this album. Even though there are only nine tracks, I love each and every one of these songs. Especially True Love, O and Midnight. Nice work, Coldplay :)

- Garbage

Worst album ever from these lads. A rather self-indulgent piece from Chris. Tripe

- Utter rubbish

Absolutely terrible, what happened coldplay?!

- coldplay

absolutely in love with this album x

- I hate this

I like the old Coldplay songs way better than this trash👎 disappointed

- Not their best but still pretty good 👍

Even though it’s only 9 songs, I still love this album. Magic, Sky full of stars and True Love are my personal favourites but most of the others kind of sound the same which is sad. I understand why it has a melancholy feel to it as Chris Martin did break up with Gwyneth Paltrow at this time. It’s a nice way to show how you feel. Overall a good album but could have done better. 4 stars ⭐️

- Coldplay, what have you done?

This is too chilled for you guys; too laid back. You guys could have done so much better. I'm disappointed.

- Such a good band

Never disssapoint!

- Amazing

Their best album by far, well done guys! 😃

- Brilliant!

They're finally back to their brilliant best. 'Magic' is the best single they've done since 'Trouble' Thanks god they got rid of Brian Eno who for me ruined the last 3 albums with his over production.

- Kt

Amazing album <3

- Amazing

Honestly this is one of my favourite albums by you guys and I have every album even the live ones and the EP's I love the new style and the pain and passion you put into the music is unbelievable. I would have to say my favourites are O, Always in my head, Ink and True love at the moment, such well written and beautiful. The piano in O is truly beautiful and honesty I cried when I listened to it, I can hear the emotions in your voice and its Incredible 2 years well spent this album is underrated and for those who say it boring have no taste for real music not just written by some music producer paid to write lyrics that have no meaning to the artist what so ever. So people should appreciate the time and effort the boys put into this album, like for goodness sake the even do the instrumental not many artist do that these days, and I'm not dissing artist that do its just people don't take artist like this for granted. (Not Coldplay related but my mom did my user name and spelt Bieber wrong, so no I'm not a fake fan) :/

- Felt like my ears were bleeding.

I used to really like Coldplay but now I really can't stand their new album it's so boring out of tune and it kinda hurt my ears after a while. I only gave it 1 star because you have too.

- Music for the people

How can you not like Coldplay ....

- GS

Another good album from the boys, short but sweet, favourite tracks are Magic, Ink, True Love, A Sky Full Of Stars and Fly On

- Perfect

I have never been a fan of Coldplay apart from 'Yellow'. I just came across this album late one night on Deezer kind of by accident. What a beautiful accident it was! I fell in love with it immediately. It was just what I was looking for. It is beautiful, peaceful, dreamy, tranquil...I could go on forever! Just what I need when I want to listen to something soft and easy. I have been listening to practically every day and on repeat ❤️

- Beautiful

People just don't seem to understand the concept of change, artist's styles shift as time moves on, influenced by different things going on in their lives, that's the beauty of albums, it's shows the journey. The reviews on here just show how closed minded some people are, yes this album is very different to other Coldplay albums but that's because it's obviously influenced by a tough time in Chris Martin's life, the songs are beautiful and true, definitely up there with their best.

- Coldplay - Ghost Stories

Love this album. Superb!

- zzzZZZ

Great album to falls a sleep to. Yawn!

- Haters are very immature

Yes- it’s largely a sad album, but the music is beautiful, and as an album it works really well. It wouldn’t be as effective if it was filled with positive up-beat tunes like Adventure of a Lifetime. It creates an atmosphere, and the album’s title sums that up. Those who comment about how it is different to Parachutes would likely also be complaining if it sounded too similar, having to have something to complain about- just appreciate it u losers x

- Not coldplay

Coldplay as a band are awesome, and all very talented musicians. Every band wants to modernise there stuff. However this is a bad move. Its not diverse and not really "coldplay" as ive listened to all there stuff all my life. If your in some dreary mood it might work for ya

- Sublime

A sensational album

- In love

I don't know what it is everybody is complaining about. This is entrancing. I've never seen an album that keeps up a mood while including different styles of songs, and this album is godamn hypnotic. I especially like Sky Full Of Stars, Midnight, Oceans and O. Perhaps Coldplay has done better, but please take this for what it is.

- amazing

don’t listen to all the bad reviews .this album is absolutely stunning pure genius .i know its not the old coldplay this is the new coldplay and its better .there aren’t any words that i can think of to get across to you how amazing this album is .worth every penny in my opinion.

- Amazing album of ambiance

Coldplay have reinvented themselves with this album and at the same time have done what every enduring band does: retain their own unique sound. A Sky Full of Stars is a great example of this; great modern pop sound but reminds me of Yellow in terms of the lyrics. Compare this with Midnight, it is a multi-faceted album from a multi-talented band. Well done Coldplay! God bless.

- Bought my first Coldplay song

I've obviously listened to the since parachutes and liked some songs but just felt I needed to buy the latest single truelove as it sounds like mazzy star roseblood great song

- Heavily underrated. A must listen

Yes the album has only 9 songs and most of the tracks aren't as potent or vibrant as in Coldplay's previous albums but these factors should not put people off from buying/downloading this album, you will not regret it. As someone who adores Coldplay's previous albums and EMD music this is a beautiful alternative to allow for reflection or just to escape from the harsh world we all live in. A definite must buy and it hope everyone reads this review and at least gives this amazing album a chance.

- L❤️VE IT!!!!!! 😍

My favs are: - Magic - O From other albums: - Yellow: Parachutes - Everglow: Head Full of Dreams - Hymn For the weekend- same album - Adventure of a Lifetime- same album - Fun (ft: Tove Lo)- same album and some others! From one of your loving fans; Angus xxx

- Different but still brilliant

I was disappointed the first time I heard this album, but I stuck with it and now it's grown into one of my favourite albums by this band, this is the one I keep on finding myself coming back to, definitely a grower.

- Beautiful, neck tingling album

One of those albums you can have on loud via a speaker or quietly via earphones relaxing. I felt completely relaxed listeningvtibthis. Coldplay, I love your work! X

- Change isnt always a bad thing?

I do agreee with most of the other reviews - its certainly different on the ears. But, look at Muse, PATD, Matchbox 20 - many bands from the same era (1999 onwards) have evolved and found new inspiration over time - its what keeps it fresh and innovative. I actually quite like this compliation, very chilled and haunting.. if i want Parachutes, il listen to Parachutes thankyou.

- Best band ever!

Best band in the world! Every song is incredible! Love it :)

- Most Underrated Coldplay album to date

I am fed up with how much hate this album receives. I can understand that it doesn't have the 'Coldplay touch' of Parachutes or A Rush Of Blood to the Head, but some people just need to close their eyes and relax and listen to what I think after X and Y is Coldplay's best album. Always in My Head, Oceans and Midnight are pure beauty from start to finish and the only 'bad' song is A Sky Full of Stars which is a little uninspired. If you haven't bought this album, buy the three aforementioned and Magic at least. You shouldn't regret it.

- 9 tracks too many!!!

A pile of steaming manure from a band who I used to enjoy. Early albums Parachute, A Rush Of Blood To The Head and X&Y were enjoyable and I still listen to them. This on the other hand is absolute tosh. I cannot waste any more of my time trying to think of any thing positive about this album apart from it has freed up about 80 MB's of space on my iPod.

- Epic

These songs are all brilliant and all carry and hypnotic base beat and rhythm that really makes these songs great to listen to. From these songs, I really think Coldplay has brought out a great album that brings quality to our ears.

- How Coldplay became bad Ghost :-(

This is Coldplay...really?! :-(

- Amazing

Not one track that makes me want to skip

- Brilliant Album Despite Criticism

'Ghost Stories' is one of the most listenable albums I have ever come across, with every track telling a different story. The album may not flow as well as some, and 'A Sky Full of Stars' does stray from the mood of the rest of the album, but apart from that, the album is brilliantly put together. Highlights (for me) include 'Always in My Head', 'Magic', 'Another's Arms' and 'O'. This is one of the albums that you can sit and listen to any time, one that takes you on a journey. It may not have the soaring choruses of previous albums, but that is not what this album is about. It gets their thoughts and emotions across, in their own way. Ignore the negative reviews, and just enjoy the songs for what they are. 'Ghost Stories' is definitely understated, but that is how it is meant to be.

- Emotional

A brilliant Coldplay album. An acquired taste perhaps, but the more you listen to it, the more you appreciate it's unique beauty. Listen to Magic, Ink, and O for a gauge of the best, Always In My Head, and Midnight worthy of mention also.

- Go Back to how you did the first two Albums

You need to do Indie Rock not Pop i Like Coldplay but you need to do another album like Parachutes, A Rush of Blood to the Head and X&Y because they were awesome albums. Ghost Stories and Myl-oxyl-oto were a disappointment Thank You, Chris Listen to this

- Love the Vibe and mood

Well mixed, produced and some simply fantastic musical moments and hard to criticise. Although it’s easy to see why someone seeking a more uplifting “poppy” album would be disappointed. Why on earth are these reviews so negative? Don’t like the price? Torrent it and serve Apple right. Stuff their pricing!

- Beautiful

Incredibly thought provoking. Perfect.

- Their best album

Masterpiece

- Delivered as promised

Love this album to bits, every song is a sound track in my pretty exciting life.lol. But yea every song in this album stands out, very unique which makes it hard to class the album, some may argue it's not Rock, who cares though the guys are out to make good music and with this compilation they did just that. Personally the only problem I had with this release is, the songs are not enough which is why the band might have opted to do 8 concerts worldwide with this album.

- Best album

This is their most personal album ever. No fillers. Perfect album for everyone who cherish good music. Masterpiece

- My favourite

this song is amazing it is all over the place with joy love it Your a sky full of stars Sighted ben

- Have Coldplay died?

There was a lot of promise with this album. In a way it's similar to parachutes and there is a hint of what I love about Coldplay in there. But ultimately this album is bad. It's frustrating because songs just seem incomplete. Like oceans for example. Similar to high speed and we never change from parachutes but this song never develops into what it deserves to be. Honestly there is no musical talent in this album at all. Which pains me to say.

- Mixed Bag

A bit of a mixed bag - the first two tracks are pretty good but it goes downhill after that. That's not to say it's completely irredeemable; most of the songs have likeable parts but I think Coldplay have gone a little too much into weird electronic sound effects. "Midnight" is particularly guilty of this. And "Ink" provides strong competition against "42" for worst Coldplay lyrics ever! However that song has a passable tune, as does "Oceans" and "O", but they are all worsened by bland electronic synth and, in "O" an inexplicable four minute silence.

- Love Them All Again

A bit late in downloading this album months after release, but I love it. Balmy September in Edinburgh will remind me of this album. Please sir, can we have some more?!

- LOVE ON A HILL

PERFECT.

- JP Everton

I am big fan of Coldplay and I love every song but I can't stop listening to sky full of stars.

- I Love It!

I am so enthralled by this album. Coldplay never fail to disappoint and my favourite tracks would have to be A Sky Full of Stars, Magic and Ink. I always find myself listening to these tracks and coming back to this album every time I need a pick me up. This album is indeed.. MAGIC.

- Brilliance

Nine songs of pure genius, and too the other review buying the songs at 99p a track would actually cost ya £8.91, £4.99 is mega cheap, Tramp and ya can't be a Coldplay fan surely if your squabbling over pennies never mind pounds!!

- no, correction. its cheaper to buy album instead of paying £9.91.

good relese from coldplay. i wish more of there songs were less deppresing and more like A Sky full of Stars but apart from that, 4 *

- Not great. Not terrible.

Not the greatest album when you compare it to recent Coldplay records, however Ghost Stories isn't a total disaster. Some of the tracks on here may be considered weak, but as an album I feel it flows nicely. Big fan of Always In My Head, True Love, Oceans and O but I admit most of the album is missing THAT Coldplay sound. Too many average songs on here where as previous albums have been strong from start to finish. Hope we see Coldplay back at their best on AHFOD!

Ghost Stories Wiki

A ghost story is any piece of fiction, or drama, that includes a ghost, or simply takes as a premise the possibility of ghosts or characters' belief in them. The "ghost" may appear of its own accord or be summoned by magic. Linked to the ghost is the idea of a "haunting", where a supernatural entity is tied to a place, object or person. Ghost stories are commonly examples of ghostlore. Colloquially, the term "ghost story" can refer to any kind of scary story. In a narrower sense, the ghost story has been developed as a short story format, within genre fiction. It is a form of supernatural fiction and specifically of weird fiction, and is often a horror story. While ghost stories are often explicitly meant to scare, they have been written to serve all sorts of purposes, from comedy to morality tales. Ghosts often appear in the narrative as sentinels or prophets of things to come.
