Zayn has grown up so much since he left the band. When you listen to the lyrics of each song from this album, it just feels great (I am not saying that 1D's music is bad). This album is worth the listen so if you have not listened to it yet then do it, you will not regret it. I am beyond proud of Zayn's new direction.

This a good album... To fall asleep to, It's boring and slow. I only made it half way through until I could take listening to it anymore & I was only previewing it. All the songs sound similar to each other just with different words and slightly different music. It doesn't showcase his real talent it just dulls it. HUGE thumbs down 👎🏻

It has a very old school, 90's and early 2000's feel that I have been needing to hear in the music industry after so long. And I love that he puts his culture in the song - intermission:flower and he sings the song in urdu. Truly beautiful album and I can't wait for more.

The approach Zayn has taken for this album really shocked me. It's a very laid back album, full of great tracks but not what you'd expect from him. I have really enjoyed listening to it and I'm sure plenty of the tracks will make fantastic singles for him in the upcoming months! Great work, nothing like what we've heard in the past with 1D.

It’s not perfect, but a debut hardly ever is. Looking at some of the ‘critical’ reviews here, it’s quite obvious to see some bias, either from people who simply hate ‘mainstream’ music, or those that are embittered fans who can’t let go of the fact that he left his group. Zayn’s approach to this album falls under the quite relaxed form of Pop-R&B that has been popularised in recent years; although not offering anything too different from the norm, there’s a definite sense of himself in the music on the album. His voice presents a deep, and relaxing tone that lends itself greatly to the genre of music that he clearly identifies with. The songs are relaxing and fascinating to listen to, and although they transition into one another (which is rare to hear nowadays), there’s a clear distinction between each. There are various parts of songs, and most notably on the Urdu track “Intermission: Flower” where Zayn’s unique characteristic shines. Throughout the album you can hear the influences from music descended from his mixed-background, and it adds a freshness to the album that makes it stand out from the typical albums and music that attempt the Pop-R&B style. Overall a great debut album, and although there’s much to improve on, it’s a solid effort. I can see him only growing as an artist, as he learns to separate himself from the manufactured beginnings of his career even more so.

Tracks are all amazing well written lyrics with some great beats. I've not stopped playing it. Love the track Wrong and tio and flower because I never expected that. I've read some of the 1 star ratings 😂 they just sound like they've all got issues. Well done zayn!

I thought Zayn hated the music he was forced to make when he was in One Direction so I don't understand why he has made the same generic rubbish for his first solo album. Out of all the sixteen tracks there is only one good one, Pillowtalk, which isn't even that good in all honesty. The worst track has to be She Don't Love Me, where Zayn sings about cheating on Perrie from Little Mix. He basically tells us all about how much of a sleez and a cheat he is. I recommend avoiding this album, it's not even worth listening to for free.
