- Meh

I was expecting a couple more songs for this album I feel 49 minutes isn't enough, but just like the album, it's good but not good enough. River of Fire should have been the lead single for the album, Save the intros it's a waste, Salvation was not needed. Oh Lord, No Me Importa, & Witching Hour aren't her best hits. Black Wedding & Joan of Arc are good but they could be a bit more metal. Still love the band & will support them, but this isn't the album I really anticipated for since May.

- Absolutely Perfect

Another instant obsession album, just like all the others ❤️ Loving this direction so much

- 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤

I seriously can not stop listening to this album on repeat! The grittiness of the tracks with a backwater vibe gives this album an authentic feeling of connecting to your darker roots that moves you to your very soul.

- E

I

- best album ever

literally in tears over how amazing this is and how far In this moment has come with their music.

- Instant hit

Absolute love at first listen. I love “Black Wedding” with Rob Halford. This album is very well composed and directed. Maria has found her comfort in this album. The right amount of everything for this recipe of success.

- Really disappointing

Was really looking forward to this album. Feel like it was a typical rushed pop album

- Mixed feelings

Very manufacturered and influenced. Same exact bass line in "Witching Hour" that was previously used in She Wants Revenge's "Tear you apart." Tsk tsk. The singles are good but it's a shame sifting through the rip offs that are too similar to dispute creativity.

- Ritual

Bloody amazing album!! 🤘🏻

- Phenomenal.

An amazing album. Not one song disappointed me. The music is catchy and compliments Maria's raspy vocals perfectly. And to spite what other people have said her signature screams are fully intake and used at the best possible moments giving the songs a beautiful balance.

- Loving It

Different, but I can't stop listening!!! ITM just keep getting better.

- Crap

Over produced garbage

- Sad face

Okay, I am a HUGE fan of ITM. I went as far as pre-ordering this album just because I was OBSESSED with Oh Lord.... Roots came along and the second time I listened (with lyrics) I actually LOVE that song.. so that being said, the rest of this album with the exception Witching Hour, I am pretty disappointed in the sound. /: I'm sorry, guys, but I'll stick with all of your other albums. :(

- Just completed the album

Listened to previews of all the songs and just downloaded the whole album. I was already in love with "Oh Lord," "Roots," and the remake of "In the Air Tonight." I was wayyy to excited for the remake, they did a great job. Anyway, so far the rest of the album is great. Just the perfect amount of heaviness, they always land in that sweet spot for me. I love the theme in this album with good, evil, etc. Vocals are great and varied as usual. I love the vocal styles used on this album and in their last couple albums a lot more, she can have such a beautiful voice. So sometimes it bums me out when she doesn't use the more "beautiful" side of her voice in some older songs. But when she mixes it up, it's perfect and you see the versatility in her voice. Overall, loving it so far. Great job and thanks for another great album! I would have to say they've officially landed my "second favorite band" spot (sorry, NIN will always be my number one)!

- Big fan

Love it

- Change isn't always bad.

This album is fantastic and I've loved every song from it. Sure, it's a difference from their Blood album, just as Black Widow was. But as a band, they never fail to let me down with powerful lyrics and riffs I can jam to. The cover of In The Air Tonight is one of my favorites and even my mom (a vigilant fan of the original) appreciates the power of Maria's vocals on this song.

- Enjoyable

I know a lot of people don't like that she doesn't have any screaming but honestly it doesn't really bother me that much. I enjoyed the band playing the instruments and I thought they played them well, I felt like Maria's vocals where very similar to Black Widow which is not a bad thing in my opinion. My only complaint is I don't think they showed their full potential in this album, but that's alright i still think it's a solid album.

- In This Moment-Ritual

Well they were on a role at one point but I'm afraid the lost the fire. Just not that good of an album with only a couple songs that are worth listening to again. Standout: Oh Lord

- Too many singles.

This album could have been great. But every song sounds like they wanted it to be a hit single. I like the sound effects they use, mostly the eerie sound stuff. The band also seems too far in the background underneath all of the electronic sound. Blood was a great mix of their evolution. Black widow had some gems for me. But this I cannot get behind, above, underneath, next to...etc I'm just going forward on this and pass.

- ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

- The complete package

Unlike previous albums where I have felt the need to skip a song here or there the songs on this album flow very well together, nothing feels out of place. Each song is steeped in atmosphere and emotion which makes for a truly visceral listening experience. The mixture of lyrics and the blusier sound on songs like Oh Lord and River of Fire is perfect while Maria's and Rob's vocals on Black Wedding fit the upbeat tempo of the song well. Some fans complain about overproduction but as bands get bigger their production budgets go up and In This Moment has made the most of theirs. If you are expecting Ritual to sound anything like their first 3 albums you are going to be disappointed however bands change as members age and the creative process knows no boundaries.

- Transcendence 🔮

The hype around the release of this album was very high, and this album blew that hype out of the water. It's so much more amazing than I could've ever imagined. I can't get enough of it. In This Moment has not simply released "just another album," they have transcended themselves into a new realm of music. I love the growth I see among them as a band, and I love seeing Maria give more of herself over to the music. I love them so very much. And this album is going on repeat.

- Shockingly disappointed!

The more I listen to Ritual, the more disappointed I am. I've been more excited about this album than any other all year - until now. I'm all for growth and evolving, and Oh Lord is the perfect example of a well-executed version of this. But River of Fire is one of the only tracks that sounds like what you would expect from ITM. The rest stray too far. What's with the synthesized drum machine? No wonder the old drummer quit. Where are the unique guitar riffs? Or Maria really cutting loose? It sounds like everyone is being held back. Over-produced is an understatement. Maybe the toned-down sound will win enough new fans that it won't matter if old fans are disappointed, but for me this is the most disappointing album of the year.

- I Love The Theme!

It's a perfect blend of religion and the occult. How we can all feel persecuted by many. I love "The Witching Hour" the most, it's beautiful, dark, and so uplifting to me. I will keep this as my top album for a long time.

- Dark, Deep, Emotional.

The band never ceases to amaze me. Fan since the early EP days and it's incredible to see how far they've come and grown as musicians and people. Ritual is an album full of many Dark and Emotional topics that the band has seemlessly put together to take us on a journey through their own Ritual. While the argument will always be there about the band becoming too "Mainstream", this album showcases everything and more that any In This Moment fan will come to expect. Deep lyrics, and incredible production, haunting vocals and howls by Maria, and incredible performances by each one of the boys in the band. Come take yourself on this journey to Salem and see why Witches are the new badasses on the block.

- Wrong direction

In my opinion this is the wrong direction for ITM. Too light and doesn't appeal to loyal fans. Stick with your original style.

- Preordered this

I actually preordered this album and I have to pay for everything after all this? Feels like I got ripped off here.

- Incredible Album!

If you're looking for heavy metal or dirty vocals you'll only find little snippets of it here. In This Moment decided to go in a different direction with this album and it's pretty special. Maria wanted to show off her true vocal range with this one, and prove that she can do far more than just scream. Sure she's dined some things in the passed to try and prove that but this one really takes the cake. The religious concepts surrounding the album is something g new they haven't tried before and it adds a certain air or aura to the album. Overall it's a great listen. They did amazing!

- This isn't a studio album

This is basically covers....isn't this? This is not why I fell in love with Maria Brink and ITM! Star-crossed Wasteland seems to be their peak - and they have deviated into metal-ish-pop-electronic-pop. Some may call sell-out-ish, but I can still hear something there dying to get out. Kinda feels like they are in a non-inspried box so to speak. I with would have known this was covers and saved my money - I kinda feel ripped off.

- Stick to your roots

Hugely disappointed with this album. It features none of Maria's vocal ranges that were in all the other albums. All the songs are very monotone and over produced. For a band that seemed to thrive being against the institution it seems they sold out on this album to try and be more mainstream while forgetting their mainstream fans. None of the grittiness and anger that was displayed in other albums. I guess when you hit it big you have no more anger.

- Very very disappointed

I'm disappointed in this album. It's dull, there's only maybe one or maybe 2 songs I like but other than that I am not a fan of this album, hopefully the next one will be better.

- What happened??

This band is one of my favorites and I gotta say that I'm a little disappointed with this album; I was really looking forward to it. I know and understand bands/singers need to change it up a bit however most of the songs sound the same. I've seen this band live and I know Maria has a great voice. I felt robbed of her vocal talent and it the albums more commercial. I'll still rock out to In This Moment. \../

- Disappointed

I'm a huge In this Moment fan, I have to say I'M so disappointed in the new album, too repetitive, too many computerized sounds, Maria's signature vocals and screams are NOT present at all in any songs and there are some weird filter vocal effect added in most songs if not all.... there is not a single song that stands out, and they are becoming less and less heavy with each release, black widow was a great experimentation but they kept it on the In this Moment core sound.... Ritual on the other hand .... disappointed :(

- I have stopped following this band due to Maria!

I liked this band….until I found out how full of herself Maria is. She would rather spend money on having a full time make-up artist, hair, clothing etc…. than pay her band what they deserve.

- Not impressed at all!!!!!

I have had much anticipation for this album, and I am seriously disappointed. They need to label this album alternative because the radio play ITM has had has now warped them, like many other bands that began as metal then conformed to the mainstream audience. Ironically they have a song called roots; maybe they should go back to there roots of making music, because the name does it no justice. (I know that's not exactly what the song is about). If you like a slower beat, pace, and elevator type music this album is for you. Sorry I have to definitely label them sellouts...

- YES!!!

I didn't realize how bad I needed this til I heard it. Well done In This Moment.

- More than just Maria

Everyone knows Maria Brink is a hell of a singer. Everyone seems to overlook that she has surrounded herself with excellent musicians. Chris & Randy shred with different styles on guitar. Travis is bangin' on bass, and Kent seems to add another level with his booming drum sound. This band has now released 3 great albums in a row. Favorite cuts so far are: Oh Lord, Black Wedding with Rob Halford, Half God Half Devil, Roots. I also like their cover of In the Air Tonight (although Nonpoint already did an epic cover of this song). Hopefully there's some other hidden gems on this disc because it seems like for some reason they never release their best cuts as singles.

- How is This Metal

This sounds like Adele and The White Stripes got drunk and formed a band, except they would be self aware about being another terrible pop rock band.

- 🌖🌑🌔✝️

OMG! This album is AMAZING!! 🖤 love this band SO much! I love every track (on every album)! Thank you so much for providing us with such great music!

- I am in Love - Maria is a Goddess 🤘

I love it so much! It is so beautiful and amazing- from start to finish. I cry almost every time I listen to it and am alone, because I just get so overwhelmed by the amazing-ness of the album. I love that you can hear Maria singing a little bit more. I do miss the screams, though- BUT I also am LOVING the sound of this. It feels a little more raw & I dig that. Favorite tracks are Joan of Arc, Witching Hour, & Half God Half Devil. No Me Importa is beautiful as well. The cover of In The Air Tonight is P.E.R.F.E.C.T.I.O.N. I have literally zero complaints in regards to this album. Thank you, In This Moment, and Maria for everything! 🖤🤘

- I was skeptical at first, but...

After listening to all of the album in its entirety, this album is one of ITM best so far. Although some of the tracks feel like another Pretty Reckless album, I was able to overcome that sound and take it for what it all was. Track like 'Roots', 'In the Air Tonight', and 'Lay your Gun Down' are the strongest in my opnion and will be put on repeat on my iPod. This is actually the fist ITM album that I have put fully on my iPod. What I mean by that is, I normally take off a good portion of songs I consider to be weak and I have all the ITM albums. This will be the first one of their albums that I have not gutted. I'm okay with anyone of these songs popping on my headphones when I turn my iPod onto a random shuffle when I'm walking to and from work.

- Ok

This album not really like the others. Not too bad but not the best. Love the other albums but this one no.

- Yep

They pretty much lost their edge. Just like Halestorm, they are trying too hard to blend in with commercialism and losing their identity.

- Seems thrown together

Feels like I just bought the B sides to the previous 3 albums.

- Wow!!!!

I've gradually been getting into In This Moment over the course of the last year, each newer cd, sounds better than the last, each more polished than the previous. WHile I've enjoyed them for the most port, I was totally caught off gaurd by their lattest. From the get go, I was blown away...This a great pulse pounding, fist waving ROCK CD. Each song in just blows the previous one away. I've now drank the kool aid, and a full on fan!

- sad

Was good, might not be bad live, but any life of metal has died IN THIS MOMENT.

- Ok at best!!

Sounds to techno I guess is the only way to explain it... Listened to it a few times and I could hum one guitar riff if I had to. Get rid of the computer/keyboard and plug the guitar back in please.

- Great album!

Having been a fan of this band for years I'll have to say; I was not a huge fan of their last album, but this new album is great. I've yet to find a single song that I didn't love. Definitely would recommend this to anyone.

- Ritual

As a fan since the begining I find this albumis on the other side of the spectrum of their sound. Which just sizzles with a mellotic sound that entices me to listen to more. So I purchashed the album to support ITM and look forward to see the next show. Last years performance (2016) was totally off the hook

- Junk

As a long time fan this is total radio junk. Sorry but you lost a ton of loyal fans for money!
