- Marginal at best.

This album seems to continue the downward spiral of Casting Crowns' music. As a worker in music ministry, I was quite disappointed in this album. Yes, there are a few good songs on this album (O Come All Ye Faithful, While You Were Sleeping, O Come, O Come Emmanuel), but it's frankly not worth the money as a whole. The inherent honesty of CC's lyrics is overwhelmed by a pervading sense of fabrication in their overall sound and arranging style. Christmas music is essentially folk music, and one expects that folk music will speak without hinderance of the feelings of the writer/singer/musician's soul. That said, this album comes off as nearly sterile. Granted, Casting Crowns has made a name on having a characteristic sound, but I would cite Mercy Me's "The Christmas Sessions" as an example of how to make a Christmas album. Yes, it's still a studio sound, and there's a clear sense of their style, but one is left with a sense of who they ARE instead of who their record company wants them to be. This is my two cents, coming from the perspective of a music minister. I asked my wife (who has no musical training) to summarize the CD in one word. The word she chose? Contrived. Listen for it on the radio, buy the tracks you like, but if you want a Christmas album, buy something else.

- Casting Crowns has done it again!

Every single album that Casting Crowns releases is filled with inspirational melodies and themes. This Christmas album is no different. It sends the same positive message that all their songs obtain. I don't think that it's possible for Casting Crowns to not come out with a hit! I love holiday music and I'm excited one of my favorite groups now has a Christmas album. Click yes if you love Casting Crowns!!

- What I've been waiting for

So I often tend to get sick of the same ole Christmas music, but this is definitely refreshing... I only wish there were more! I would LOVE to hear Mark on O Holy Night... maybe next Christmas album! Btw, I think it was GENIOUS to put While You Were Sleeping on here. Though I've already got the song, it helps to remind me of what we're all here for.

- Loved it

I'm a really big Casting Crowns fan and I ws excited to get their Christmas CD. At first I was worried because the songs were so slow, but as I listened to the lyrics (especially I heard the Bells on christmas day) I came to really like the Cd. Their renditions on the classics are good, the version of While You Were Sleeping was great and overall the songs they wrote (except God is With us) were really appropiate for the Christmas theme. The Cd may be a little bit slower than most, but I loved the overall sound of it.

- Amazing!

This is by far one of the best Christmas cd's I have ever heard. They do a variety of things musically and they once again prove just how excellent of a group they are. "I Heard the Bells On Christmas Day" sounds like it could be a major Christmas hit and I really like the song "God is With Us" as well.

- Casting Crowns Rocks!! Come back to UMass Amherst!!!

Casting Crowns is one of the best Christian bands of all time and it is awesome that they have a Christmas CD. Christmas is truely the most wonderful time of the year and I am glad that I now get to listen to Casting Crowns enhance the Christmas Spirit.

- What An anointed Christmas Album!!!

Dear Casting Crowns Wow!!! What can I say, God has given you an authentic, anointed album that will bless everyone who hears it. I cried when I listened to While You Were Sleeping. Your music has always spoken to me. And this one and Altar to the Door has been the best ever. Thank you and Thank you for listening to God's voice and letting Him speak through your lyrics and music.

- FINALLY! A+

I have been waiting Christmas season after Christmas season for this and it has not disappointed. Casting Crowns bring the classics as well as the originals with "I heard the bells on Christmas Day" which is an incredibly well orchestrated show stopper! It really brings out the desire for this Christmas season! Thank you Casting Crowns for giving me my Christmas wish! God Bless all and please buy this album and enjoy the season with Christ the way Casting Crowns has desired for their music!

- Casting Crowns Rock!

I'm sooooo glad casting crowns came out with a christmas album!it's really cool. i havn't really listened to the traditional Christmas songs but While you were sleeping and I Heard the Bells on christmas day are just two really good songs.

- Love it!

I love Casting Crowns because they dare to be different. Their music is Holy Ghost inspired, and that's why it speaks to so many. This Christmas album is beautiful; they did a great job of picking these songs. Good Work Guys!

- Peace.

It seems that the theme for Christmas releases this year is "peace" which is a good thing considering there are two wars being fought and we're wrapping up an election season rich in partisanship and polarization. Peace is a wonderful feeling - especially this time of year - and this album delivers. The opener, "I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day" is worth the price of the album and speaks of that peace - the peace we need in this world - the peace that the birth of Jesus brings. "Sweet Little Jesus Boy" and "O Come, O Come Emmanuel" are incredible also. Buy this! You won't regret it - especially if you're a Casting Crowns fan.

- 5 Stars.

I have always been a man of few words, this will be no exception. Simply Amazing and Beautiful.

- Powerful

I am a real fan of Casting Crowns and was excited to hear about this album. I really like Mark Hall's voice and CC's style. I also love Christmas carols no matter who they are sung by so needless to say I was quite satisfied with the album. I heard the Bells on Christmas Day, God is With Us, Christmas Offering and Sweet Little Jesus Boy are not your typical Christmas songs and that is what made this CD so powerful. A great group, with great songs, its well worth the investment.... I just wish they had of put more songs on it because I am always disappointed when its over...!

- Do we really need this?

I liked Casting Crowns first album. It was good, creative, and fresh. When their second release happened to be live recordings of the same songs the next year...I started worrying. Lifesong put most of my worries to rest. Another solid piece of work, similar but different all by itself. But...once again, I guess CD sales just weren't enough from it by itself...so we got some live recordings, and people dug a little farther into their wallets. But wait! A third studio album was going to be released the next year...and sure enough the year following that, another package of those songs being sung live. And now, a Christmas album? What's next? "The Best of Casting Crowns"? Maybe after that we could have a "The Best of Casting Crowns: Live"? If you really like the music from this group, then cool for you. But please, please, please don't fall for these marketing ploys to get you to spend double for something you've already heard. If you want the 1432438th version of Silent Night & Joy To The World...then enjoy. Otherwise, save your money, and wait for "Casting Crowns: Live From Atlanta, Again"...

- Glorious Album!

This album is an amazing Christmas album! Full of the love and hope provided at Chirstmastime, Casting Crowns delivers a great change to glorify the Lord in this music. Worth every penny!

- flyingcats2

Okay, okay, I suppose... But I Heard The Bells on Christmas Day was truly not the solemn song it should be, yes While You Were Sleeping was okay, God Is With Us is not a Casting Crowns moment. Not a classic to be, I wouldn't buy it-sorry!

- Casting Crowns Has Done It Again

I have never heard Christian artists more capable of reaching into our hearts and touching them for Jesus. I thought I would come here and maybe buy one or two songs from this album but no, I want the whole thing. Their music is amazing, once again.

- Wonderful Christmas Album

I am so excited that Casting Crowns has a Christmas album. They are all great songs and I will enjoy listening to them for years to come.

- Great!

This sounds great I can't wait to hear the whole thing!

- Another Awesome Casting Crowns Alboum

They did it again!! Casting Crowns has made another great album, this time a Christmas theme. I usually don't give an album five stars, but this is one of the few exceptions. Not every song is in itself is five stars, but overall the album is. In several songs they begin with a piano, and the melody is just so nostalgic it reminds me of good times as a kid around Christmas time. I love the choice of songs bringing about, not just a christmas theme but an album you can worship to. Casting Crowns is one of my favorite bands and with Mark Hall, Megan Garrett and Melodee DeVevo's voices, it gives these Christmas favorites a deeper meaning, a worshipful twist. If you get the chance, I would recommend you buy this album, they really do have a heart for God.

- Casting Crowns Gets an A+ Fourth Time Around

Casting Crowns rocks. I love their messages and their non-christmas albums. Buuuuuttt....... THIS ONE BLOWS THE CHARTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THEY'VE DONE IT AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! To those of you who complain that "oh it's only a christmas album" and "it's just a money ploy," think again real hard, and real fast. Not only are they the fastest growing christian band, but they are absolutely, incredibly talented. Please listen to the album before you critique it. Don't make assumptions!!!!!!!!! Please, please, please buy this album. My favorite songs are "I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day" (absolutely awesome with the kids choir) and "While You Were Sleeping." (Not just a 'horrible redo' off their "Lifesong" album, but the original version.) This is a must-have for Christmas! Jesus Rocks!!!!!

- this christmas

nice blend of traditional and new stuff, you guys do it well every time.

- powerful

this album is the best it can be very powerful for those who believe in God this album can speak to you through the music

- Peace To Earth

Well, I Did Not Think This Album Would Be Good, But I Decided To Listen To Some Of It On There Website... I Was Amazed, To Be Truthfull, But Some Songs Dont Sound Just Amazing. But Overall I Like It, Five Stars.

- Still keep amazing me!

i Love Casting Crowns. I started to listen to them about 2 years ago and they still are my favorite band. This cd is a great christmas cd and everyone should own it. It has some classics and some other great songs. Great buy!

- Truly Blessed!

Casting Crowns is truly blessed! What a wonderful addition to my holiday music collection! "I Heard The Bells..." is AMAZING and so different from any version I have ever heard.

- Mediocre

I like only about 2-3 of the songs that Casting Crowns does overall, but once again their sound here is another mix of melodies in minor keys that create dark, depressing images. They need to do brighter sounding music.

- Joy to my soul!

Christmas time, is the perfect time, to tell the most important story and the voices of Casting Crowns give the Greatest story ever told a special resonance. It stikes a chord that makes you want to hear more. When I first heard this album my thought was, Thank You!

- Casting Crowns + Christmas Music = GREAT ALBUM!

I hadn't even listened to the 30 second clips, nor looked to see what the song titles were before making a decision to purchase this album! When I knew they were putting out a Christmas album, I knew already that I'd be purchasing it. I love Casting Crowns. I love Christmas Music. What more could a girl ask for?

- Buy a few

So some of this cd is your typical Christmas music, but "I Heard the Beels On Christmas Day" is an absolutely amazing song! The new rendition has a completely original sound and the children's choir on the chorus is awesome. This cd should be bought solely for the purpose of listening to that song.

- Amazing. :)

I love Casting Crowns. I have had the blessing of going to church with them for over a year. I will always be a fan! This album is just as good as their others. I love how Mark Hall can bring such a fresh vibe to these classic songs! Buy it. It's so worth it. :)

- Worst Album Yet

This is thier worst album yet i would'nt give it any stars if it were possible Needs more effort!!!

- Awesome

This is their best CD yet. To me it is uplifting. I hope this is helpful to you.

- Wow

This cd gave me so many chillbumps. I love the original version of "While You Were Sleeping." Casting Crowns could have just slapped ten Christmas songs on a cd and sent it out, but you can tell that they put so much into this album, and it paid off. Thanks Casting Crowns and keep up the great work!
