LINKIN PARK - LOST IN THE ECHO

LOST IN THE ECHO by LINKIN PARK Song Info

"Lost in the Echo" is a song by American rock band Linkin Park, from their fifth studio album, Living Things. The song impacted radio stations, as well as a digital download, on October 5, 2012. The song was written by the band and produced by co-lead vocalist Mike Shinoda and Rick Rubin. It received mixed to positive reviews from music critics. In the video "Inside Living Things", it was revealed that the working title of "Lost in the Echo" was "Holding Company". The band recorded the song in March 2012. In an interview with The Huffington Post, Mike Shinoda, the band's rapper and producer, stated that the song "was one of those moments that defined what this album was going to be about." He also expressed his surprise when, despite the band's dislike for songs that sounded like their earlier material, appreciated the song, saying: "The thing about 'Lost in the Echo' was it sounded a lot like what the 'song' sounds like, I think. When the guys heard it, I kind of said to them, "What do you think about that?" and their responses, for the first time in a few years, were pretty good. They were like, 'Yeah, we hear the merit. Let's develop that idea. Let's see what we want to do.' I said to them, 'You know, this is like a real moment for us, now, on this album.'"

- ok

nice album cover thats all I have to say really...

- Awesome awesome awesome

I think this is defiantly one of there best albums yet.i love there new style.awesome :)

- Strong Start, Flawed Finale

Classy start to this mature sounding Linkin Park in 'Lost in the echo', with it's catchy synthesised sound. But the last 5 songs lose the grip that the first half of the album has on you. Overall, the first 7 tracks keep your ears pleasantly surprised by the new Linkin Park sound, and hold this album above an average rating.

- Awesome

Linkin Park have definitely taken a step forward from their previous record and produced 12 new tracks that make this album simply incredible. With amazing tracks like the classic-feel of Lost in the Echo, the folk inspired tracks Castle of Glass and Skin to Bone, the extremely brutal yet rocking Victimized, soothing ballads Roads Untraveled and Powerless, rap-centric Until it Breaks and the awesome return of guitars for In My Remains and I'll Be Gone, this album simply cannot disappoint. If you were somewhat disappointed with this album, I feel sorry for you. I can without a doubt say that Burn it Down is the worst song on this album, however I still enjoy it. A definite 5/5 and second best album behind Meteora

- Mean album

Awesome!lol

- Finally!

They have finally returned to their roots. As good as Meteora and Hybrid Theory. Awesome album!!!!

- Awesome

Linkin park is clearly still fighting in the music market, and with albums like that they'll make it to the top. Great album.

- Living things

I've been listening to linkin park since hybrid theory and it just keeps getting better and better

- A Thousand Suns part 2?

An ok start to the album with the obvious favourite 'Burn It Down' and 'Lost In The Echo' the other tracks sound more or less like fillers. The second half sounds like a continuation of 'A Thousand Suns' - which to me was pretty forgettable, so you'll know how I feel about these tracks. Anyone wanting Hybrid Theory and Meteora Linkin Park will give this a miss (that ship has sailed, an it doesn't look like it'll be making a return for sometime). All that's left now is 'Experimental' (more like 'Confused') Linkin Park.

- Best LP Album EVA!!!

This new album by Linkin Park is AWESOME!!!! Love the new type of music they do. It's unique! Favourite song from this album would have to be "Burn It Down"

- 10/10

Churr LP good to see you back on track!

- Amazing

Living things; amazing album. Reminds me why linkin park is my favourite band, not a single song on there that i don't like. Love the new direction they're taking: this did not dissapoint inthe slightest :) well worth the purchase.

- Alright

I like their older albums better though.

- Bet yet

I love linkin park, and this album... (i'm lost for words) I love it, their best yet, well done boys!

- Best Album Ever!

I love the direction Linkin Park have taken, every track on Living Things leaves you speechless and makes you wonder what their next album will be like. Every album Linkin Park have done have brought them to the amazing LIVING THINGS. Best ever!!!

- Good oldeys

They have returned to how they started beasty as! Just as good as meteroa and hybrid theory! Finally!!!!!

- worst Linkin Park album ever!!!!

Linkin Parks worst album 2 date, old fans of their music can say goodbye 2 the Hybrid Theory and Meteora sound and can now get use 2 drum and base tracks. honestly this album is even more unforgettable than the last i wouldn't waste my time!!

- Different but still good.

I can't express how much I hated this but now I gave them a chance and they have redeemed their selves because i have listened to them so many times.

- Amazing

This album is what I have been waiting for. Their old songs like What I've Done was getting tiring. Although one song isn't very great the rest is amazing.

- For everyone rating this one star for LINKIN PARK branching out to new styles

LINKIN PARK has remained true to themselves; they aren't mainstream crap or anything of the sort. You never were a true LINKIN PARK fan if you think their new work is crap because of a different sound, as that is the only reason they are still LINKIN PARK.

- Shut up haters!

I loooooove these songs on LIVING THINGS, Lost in the Echo and Burn it Down are amazing! Just simply awesome! If you were real fans of LP u would learn that bands can change and if ur a fan u will usually evolve with the band and still like them!!

- Disappointed

I'm sorry I'm completely disappointed and feel like I was totally lied to by your editor in his iTunes notes. When did linkin Park become a soft spoken ballad band with rap? Go back to your roots guys, take advantage of your lead singers multi octaves he can hit well and great rhythms by your guitarist and kept up with that awesome drummer of yours. Hands down worst album! Go back to hybrid theory and your hit single New Divide! I had high hopes

- Don't be fooled.

This original album is great, and I'm not a set genre person, I like a wide variety of music genre. However, don't waste your money on the Linkin Park "Recharged" album REMIX. The Remix of "Living Things" has a static and distorted sound that doesn't do the artists justice for their music.

- Why is everything in all caps

On my i pod it is so stupid i have the old linkin park song that weren't in all caps but it thinks that just becuase they all caps their stuff now that they are a different band

- LIVING THINGS Review

LIVING THINGS is a great album as well because all of the tracks in this album are amazing I love the album covers that LINKIN PARK has used in there albums.

- Great Evolution of LP's music

I don't get why a lot of people are comparing the past with the present. This album is great because it is something new and gives a different perspective to what LP is capable of other the music type which the first few albums provided.

- AWESOME!!!!

This is my favorite Linkin Park album EVER!!! There's not a single track on here that I don't like. Skin To Bone and Roads Untravelled took a bit warming up to, but it happened. Lost In The Echo is amazing withthe perfect combination of Chester's singing and screaming. The juxtaposition on this album is great, like going from the horns-throwing, drum pounding, full-rage song that is Victimized to a soft, smooth ballad of Roads Untravelled. Perfect!

- Pretty good

Not the best but a pretty good album. I enjoyed most of the songs and bought a few. Its not the greatest but I was not dissapointed.

- One of my favorites!

This is by far one of my favorite Linkin park albums!

- Excellent

It's so good I love it

- Awesome!

This is my favorite album better than minutes to minute in my opinion. It has a great sound to it that I crave. Not sure why it is averaged to be 4 stars as ratings. Castle of glass, I'll be gone, burn it down, and lost in the echo are awesome and would definitely recommend them. This is better than the hunting party. I wish they would make some more music with a similar sound to this

- Yes

One of the better albums they have created. :-) new sound that works for them.

- Another one for the books..

still doing what they do best..GOOD MUSIC.. Linkin Park will always and forever be my favorite band..LINKIN PARK!!!!!

- great album

Really great album, even through I did not like it when it released, it's not like Meteora or Hybrid Theory, but the songs are still great!!!!

- Good Album!

A ton of great songs. But it's still not the Linkin Park we all know and love!

- Why is everything in caps?

This has got to be my least favorite Linkin Park album. At least Minutes to Midnight and A Thousand Suns had its few good tracks (Given Up, What I've Done, When They Come for Me, The Catalyst, Wretches and Kings) but the only one I really like on here is Castle of Glass, and even that one took many repeated listens to grow on me. This album isn't my style, and I can admit that's the main reason I don't like it. But A Thousand Suns isn't my style either, yet I actually like ATS (I know, unpopular opinion) because it was creative and alternative. But I feel like this is mainly pop. I don't know. But my main question is: why is everything in caps? I had to edit all the titles because my OCD was driving me insane, lol.

- Nice! (lol the editors note)

Uh return to roots? Far from that haha. This is actually a continuation of the electronic sound from A Thousand Suns but with now a more Alternative Rock/Pop Rock sound to go with it. And less interludes either! Just one, "Tinfoil", and it's rad! "Burn It Down", "Roads Untraveled", "In My Remains" and "Lost in the Echo" are my top picks for this. Great album! Just wrong idea in the editors note hence why this is at 4 stars lol.

- Love it

This is what introduced me to the band, easily five stars

- Great!

LINKIN PARK IS AND ALWAYS WILL BE THE GREATEST BAND OF ALL TIME!!!!!!!!!!

- Just awesome

Almost beats out Minutes to Midnight as my favorite album. Definitely worth a listen.

- Yesss

This album is amazing because it has a good combination of rapping, screaming, and electronics, with some rock.

- LOVE

LOVE. ☺️

- Amazing

This album is amazing! Keep it up Linkin Park

- Yes

Thank you Linkin Park. This album is what I needed in my playlist. Extremely riveting, thought-provoking, and inspiring. Has a new meaning every time I listen to it. Keeps me motivated throughout the day. Marvelously done. A+.

- Love this album

I like every album by these guys but this one really stands out, each and every song just fits perfectly with each other they all fit perfectly in this album too.

- Sweeeeeeeeeet

It was amazing . I was jamming out to the whole album

- I'm sorry...

But you guys just don't get what LP is doing, their changing their music so that we don't get bord of their roots. But some of these songs have messages that few people I have talked to can find. Most of them are people with similare experiences as I do. I like them for that reson

- ..

^_^

- Who are you?

Linkin Park. Give it a little more time. You think the blend of electronic, alternative and metal is overdone but it is just the beginning, though it doesn't feel that way I would imagine. Hunting party feels fabricated, what happened to the strong melody? Embrace the music you want to listen too, if that is hunting party, then so be it (reluctantly).

- Cool

I originaly bought this album for In My Remains but I ended up liking the rest of it. Songs I reccomend are Victimized, I'll Be Gone, Castle of Glass, Lies Greed Misery, Powerless, Skin to Bone and of course In My Remains. You should definatly buy this album. Keep it up Linkin Park.

- Itunes is dead wrong

If you like their older albums, you will not like this.

- AWESOME

More like Hybrid Theory and Meteora, only with electronic

- Another linkin park lover

Really the whole album, is worth buy it. LIVING THINGS is a 2014 must have records

- Roads untraveled

Favorite song roads untraveled love the album

- Questioning the caps of the entire album

Now don't get me wrong, this album is good, but it seems to me that whoever was in charge of the titling of the songs and album accidentally hit the Caps Lock when typing up the album. That's just me.

- Another disappointment

What is going on with these guys? Hybrid theory and meteora were by far their best albums. I get that they were experimenting for a while and trying to move with the times. But their music was timeless. This album seems to try to please old fans but without the energy and confidence they once had it falls flat. Hopefully the new one is better but I'm not holding my breath

- Still Awesome

Great album, idc what people say even though it wasn't as rock and roll as people expected it was really good and most likely my favorite album.

- this is NOT roots

This is crap. Linkin park lost a fan until they go back to sounds before minutes to midnight. Rip any good music from them

- Hehe

I met Chester Benningtons wife and son on a Disney cruise... SWAG

- Awesome Album

I don't care what people say but I think this album rocks!

- They have mastered their own creation.

Linkin Park was great from the start. After Minutes to Midnight i did notice a bit of change in them. I thought it could be improved a little more if they worked on it for a year or so. And here they are with LIVING THINGS. I really never expected Linkin Park to become a sub-genre in Alternative or Rock music. They created their own mixture of EDM, or Rockstep. LIVING THINGS may drive some fans away, but it will bring many more fans closer to Linkin Park.

- Awesome

First off I want to say that this album is very underrated. Sure it's no hybrid theory or meteora but it is better than ats. Lost in the echo-(5/5) one of my favorites. Great mix of electronic and rock sounds. In my remains-(5/5) probably my favorite on the album. Burn it down-(4/5) Good single. I really like mike's raps on this particular track. Lies greed misery-(3/5) while this track has LPs old rage, it's just not a great song, but it's not terrible either. I'll be gone-(5/5) very good song. Sounds like minutes to midnight or meteora to me. Castle of glass-(5/5) beautiful song with very deep, meaningful lyrics. Victimized-(4/5) It sounds like it came right off of their first two albums. At first I hated this song but I warmed up to it and now I think it is great. Roads untraveled-(5/5) just like castle of glass it is very emotional and deep. Skin to bone-(3/5) meh Until it breaks-(4/5) Tinfoil+powerless-(5/5) I'm just going to count these as one. Very very good song.

- Love it!

I really like this album! It's an interesting album. I did not go into it looking for Hybrid Theory or Meteora. Those albums came out over a decade ago...I don't expect LP to recreate those over and over. That would be boring. I really appreciate all the experimenting they have done over the years though. I am surprised every time I listen to their new music and that's what kept me a fan for all these years. This is definitely something new. Loving Castle of Glass, Lost In The Echo, Roads Untravelled, and Skin to Bone. Lost in the Echo reminds me of a very evolved Hybrid Theory song in a way. I think to stay an LP fan you really have to be ready for anything. To help gauge my opinion and its relativity to your tastes: I'm one of those fans that actually really liked A Thousand Suns...Wretches & Kings is an awesome song and I maybe liked one song off Minutes to Midnight (Given Up). I would definitely recommend this album though! Especially if you like LP's electronic side.

- Great!

This fits with the transition of LP. Nice improvement from ATS! Yes, it is kinda pop-like, but it's definitely not considered pop.

- Energetic and very emotional

Linkin Park is one of a kind, as in they are like a chameleon. Over the years they have changed their style of music a lot; they experiment and always seem to come up with something new. That being said, I don’t own all their albums (not by a long shot). I was (am) head over heels with "Hybrid Theory" when it was released, I love “Meteora", and I like most of “Minutes to Midnight”. Everything else after and in between these albums has not really been my taste - and this is very important, as many of the reviewers here seem to forget this simple fact: Just because YOU personally don’t like an album (or any piece of music for that matter) does not automatically mean it is bad. It may be different from what you like at that point in time, but bad would probably be the wrong choice of words. I have mostly stuck to the first albums of theirs, which is why I am very late to the party of “Living Things”. Is it like “Hybrid Theory” or “Meteora”? Not really, though, from my personal point of view, I understand why the iTunes Store review says people who like these albums would take to “Living Things” as well. The album is extremely energetic and forceful, poetic, personal, and highly emotional. There are certain pieces and musical arrangements that are vaguely reminiscent of Linkin Park’s earlier days, but you won’t sit down and feel like you’re listening to a new version of “Hybrid Theory” or “Meteora”. And I applaud Linkin Park for that. I can appreciate their music for what it is, and even though I haven’t been able to emotionally connect with their albums between "Minutes to Midnight" and “Living Things”, there is one thing I know for sure: they are likely the only band I will always be able to connect with at some point in time, because, let’s be honest: we all change. We evolve, and with it our likes and/or dislikes for certain things. And just as my or your taste in music changes, so will (should) a band’s taste. I’m glad Linkin Park doesn’t sound the same anymore they did when they released “Hybrid Theory”. I have that album, and whenever I want to I can listen to it and fall in love with it all over again. And now there’s “Living Things”. Even though I’m three and a half years late, I love this album; maybe even more than “Hybrid Theory”. In the end (pun intended) it doesn’t really matter how others rate something anyways, all that matters is whether or not YOU like it. The only thing I would ask you to do is to approach any of Linkin Park’s albums without any expectations. Simply let the music play and see if it speaks to you. If it does, great, if it doesn’t, don’t be mad or disappointed. I’m sure there will be some album in the future that will.

- Nah

IT was ok, to say at the most. As I was Growing up, Linkin Park was one of The main parts of my childhood. We listened to it in the car everywhere we went. The, out comes The Minutes to midnight album, And Im like "What the Heck" Later came A thousand suns, Which Sucked in every aspect. After, there was THe hunting party, which was okay, but neat not Meteora, Or Even close to hybrid THeory, But as good as Living things. Needless to say, its better than all albums after The Jay Z Collision course, Burn It down is fantastic, but everything else was generic Alt-Rock. LP, I used to love you, But After A Thousand suns, youre dead to me. If youre reading this , stop trying new things, and get back to what everybody loved, The first 2 albums. (PS: WHERE'S MIKE SHINODA?!?!?!??!)

- No.

These guys will never be good again.

- A Spark of Hope

Some people don't believe that there is any of Linkin Park's old sound in this album, but I disagree. There is the perfect mixture of their old sound and their new sound. What people need to realize is that bands change; instead of bashing what Linkin Park has done that you might not like, just enjoy what you do like. Great album.

- Burn it down is good...but...

well this album missed the mark for me. I didn't purchace the last album before this and now I'm sorry i purchased this one. It didn't have any real emotion for me. Burn it down is great. But the rest of the songs almost seem like Bsides. That is just my opinion. Making a great album is no easy task.

- Finally

Linkin Park remembered how to make an album!! after Hybrid Theory they just fell apart, Metoria wasn’t bad but just wasn’t all that good either. Anything after that they just sucked, BUT NOW LP is back with a way better album then they have ever released. Welcome back Linkin Park we have missed you!

- wow...

these guys are the definition of sell-outs.. sad to say because they were my favourite band during the hybrid theory/ meteora days

- Not bad

I have to agree with most of the comments already listed. It is much better than the last. There's a few really good songs on this one but the first two albums are still the best LP I've heard.

- Awesome

This new linkin park album is awesome I lova linkin park :D

- Just why?

This is why my age group, teens, listen to such bad music, good bands such as LP, turn to techno, dubstep, or pop music, instead of good music like metal, punk, or rock. LP you were great but now your just simply ok. I'm ok if the chorus is rap and the rest is Nu-Metal, but when it's almost entirely rap and there is one or two bit's of Nu-Metal I just don't mind it as appealing.

- Meh, nothing special to me, sorry guys...

If they weren't riding previous success, I don't see very many people giving this album a chance. I was really hoping they'd get away from what they did with A Thousand Suns, but more or less it's the same sort of thing. It's great to try things, but you got to keep in mind your original fan base and who followed you from the start. There's a reason this band got so popular, they just seem to forgot what that was...

- Are you sure it's a mix of Hybrid Theory and Meteora?

If you ask me in my opinion it sounds like a mix of Hybrid Theory and Minutes to Midnight. It's not quite their roots at all, the Nu-Metal they did before is their best stuff. Now don't get me wrong I like Linkin Park, I mean Figure.09 got me hooked on the band but now they seem to move away from their best work. All in all, it's a good album but I think the Linkin Park fans are missing the true work of Hybrid Theory and Meteora.

- M'ouais...

Je m'ennuis des vieux albums...

- Still Can

Only song that keeps me from leaving iTunes is Burn It Down

- Gotta love the path that LP is taking

I wasn't a big fan of A Thousand Suns and kinda lost my interest in LP, but after hearing Living Things, LP is again on the top of my playlist. I really think that LP has found the sound that will represent them as a band. Some people hate in LP for their new sound and want them to go back to their old routs. All i have to say to them is that bands do change over time and its wrong to hate on them for doing so. There are barely any bands who sound like they did from when they started. Ask yourself if u were the same 8 years ago!!! Good Job LP can't wait to see what you do next!!

- what happened?

dont get me wrong i love them! but i miss their old music this sounds more conformed than different, the only song that i really like is burn it down, its the closest to the old linkin park.

- whats with all these mopey fans?

Does any one else grow WITH the band? i have LOVED everything Linkin Park has ever done, i was a fan from back in the hybrid theory days and im still a solid fan now, i love how theyve changed and expirmented -they are ARTISTS that is what ARTISTS DO! <3 how many bands stay EXACTLY the same? the songs on this album are haunting and beautiful!! always a delightful treat for the ears :) Im extremly happy with Living Things, its wonderful. thanks for everything guys~your music changed my life.

- Close

Something missing, not the same as second album but still a great band

- Welcome Back LP!

Amazing, simply outstanding. So happy they bounced back after a terrible A Thousand Suns. By far my favourite Linkin Park album. All the songs are outstanding and well done.

- Mixed Emotions….

I feel like there is too much techno or Dubstep in these songs. In my opinion they should go back to the sound and styles from Meteora and Hybrid Theory. The album though is not terrible.

- Still can

No matter how many times I listen to the previews, I still cannot find any reason to buy this album. With the exception of Burn It Down, none of the songs do anything for me. They all seem flat and boring, and without substance. It's as if LP are just going through the motions on this album.

- Better

I was hoping they would do better than 1000 suns and they did but not as good as high bread theory.

- Amazing

Great album, combined textures of the old and new linkin park

- awesome awesome awesome

man another amazing album

- LP's new Hybrid

I've been an LP fan since the very beginning. Like many fans I feel their best and most inspired music was on the first two albums. Hybrid Theory and Meteoria had a true synergy and feel, combining the best parts of Mike's rap with the band's overall talent for hard rock, all blended with Mr. Hahn's skill as a DJ, sampling and playing magic on a keyboard. I understood the need to explore new sounds for the band; a band just like a person has to mature. Minutes to Midnight may have diverged from what made the first two albums great, but it was still an amazing accomplishment for the band. They showed more depth and understanding for music, as an art, than any previous album. LP still produced solid and appreciable music outside their normal comfort zone; such as Shadow of the Day and The Little Things Give You Away, while still having old crowd pleasing favorites like What I've Done. A Thousand Suns their next original album continued their maturation and development as a band, and unfortunately diverged too far for many original fans (to an extent myself included) but I knew this to be exploration. The talent was still there, as exhibited by Chester, in an absolutely phenomenal live performance cover of Adele's Rolling in the Deep -damn balls'y move covering a woman's pop/soul song as an all male "hard rock" band. If you are an LP fan and have a diverse taste in music I recommend checking it out. I call this album LP's new Hybrid as it finds balance between their original albums while still maturing into the band they want to become. In My Remains, and Castle of Glass throw back to the old while Powerless gives hope for what is to come. Perhaps their best and most balanced album yet... I hope this album strikes a chord with both the old a new generations of Linkin Park fans. I for one look forward for what is to come. Cheers, and thank you LP

- Best Band In The World

CRAWZY AWESOME

- AMAZING!!!

Absolutely love it! Every song is amazing!! Won't be disappointed with this amazing album by a awesome group!!

- Sick album

Title says it all...

- SCREW HATERS

One word: Godly.

- Mind blowing

This album is excellent, Linkin Park definitely one upped "A Thousand Suns" I really think the songs are great and that they did such an amazing job and they did not "changed their style" they simply toned the volume down, so that they could turn the epic p!

- a good album

Its a good album. I like half of the songs. The other half are average. Of course nothing beats albums 1 and 2. Its a different beat and feeling.

- Very good

Not as amazing as the first two but this is generally a very good album

- :(

I was really pulling for LP to go back to its roots... "Lies greed misery" pretty much sums it up, not the song, just the title. The description of what this CD promised was a lie, the only reason I could think of as to why LP would put this crap out is that they're greedy and misery is what they put me through while listening to this... I can't consider myself a fan of LP anymore, I understand growing and developing as a band but this is just terrible!

- Nothing new at all

Horrible album, a couple tracks worth listening that become dull almost immediately. The rest of the album borders between annoying and unlistenable.

- Love it

:D I Freicken love this Album, they are all good but this one completely rocks!

- Burn it down

I still love linkin park, but I miss the music they used to do. I suggest you buy burn it down instead of the whole album.

- The Perfect Fusion of Musical Styles

Many of the negative reviews seem to imply the band should never have evolved or changed in any way, but personally I think this album represents the culmination of years of experimentation. I think they have finally nailed a perfect balance between the fusion of musical genres. "Lost In The Echo" will appeal to fans of the classic Linkin Park albums, but without their necessary evolution, stand out songs like "Castle of Glass" and "Skin To Bone" would never have come to be. For me, this album simply solidifies that Linkin Park are masters of music regardless of its genre.

- Great

This is the only linkin park album I like. The others are to slow and repetitive

- -_-

Linkin park is gone. L P, I miss u! -_-

- Best Album Since Meteora

This is by far their best album since Meteora. I've been listening to this album on repeat since I got it and the sound is fantastic. The lead in on Tinfoil and then to Powerless is simply a fantastic and powerful piece of music! Absolute masterpiece!

- Depends on your interests

If you liked A Thousands Suns you'll probably like this, but is NOT like Hybrid Theory. A good album, but they've grown to be more pop kind of sounding over the years which is personally not what I'm looking for from them

- Love LP! Great album!

Amazing album! Better than last one. Worth it! Love it! I bought 2 of them for collection.

- Great

Burn it down was an awesome single, and I generally love every song on the album, some of their old music is good but it's where THEY want to go, if u don't think this album is 5 stars, take a hike.

- A few gems

I find there are only 3-4 tracks really worth the money but as a long time fan I bought the whole thing. It is definitely a step in the right direction. Bring on the harder stuff and the deep stuff but "leave out all the rest" ... Of the alternative emo

- Yet another disappointment…

Hybrid Theory and Meteora were unreal…I listened to that CD in my "walkman" over, and over, and over, until the player burnt out…..until you guys return to your old roots…..I refuse to download any more of your crap. If I wanted to listen to your "up-to-date" albums….I'd download coldplay. Another let-down guys….. sigh….

- Meh.

There are really only four good songs on the entire album. Whoever wrote the review that said, "Linkin Park returns to its roots on LIVING THINGS" was lying.

- Love it!

This album has some really good songs like LOST IN THE ECHO. I love have even though they have changed they still seem to find a way to hint a bit of the old LP. Beauty album!!

- Best LP to date!

Best LP to date. I've been a big fan since Hybrid Theory and I love how the guys have still kept the edge in their songs, but evolved at the same time. The textures and depth in the songs are amazing! "Burn It Down", "Castle of Glass", "Lost in the Echo" and "Lies, Greed, Misery" are amazing! "Victimized" is definately old-school LP with Chester ripping out the vocals. Totally worth the download AND purchase of disc!

- Love it!

I've been a LP fan for years. did not love all of the last albm but I do really like this one. No it's not Hybrid Theory and they have evolved. They don't just stick to a formula and hash out the same stuff over and over (like most of today's crap music). There are some really strong tacks on this album and is plays great in the car CRANKED! Helps me drown out the losers next to me listening to Pitbull and whatever else is their flavour of the day ;-P

- Worst album ever!

Linkin Park gets worse and worse every time they come out with something new! They said this would sound like their old stuff but it CLEARLY doesn't! Really disappointed!

- Awesome.

Personally I think this album is great. Yeah it's not just like lp's old stuff it's kinda like a mix between old and more recent stuff. Living things is a great album.

- Best album yet

Love it, the lyrics are so intense & full spirited.

- Disappointed again!

How do you even relate this to hybrid theory and meteora. I don't know what happened to Linkin Park, but this is disappointing... This whole album is a let down after iTunes tells you "they went back to their roots"

- it's Great

Linkin Park are "Great"

- What an Album

From the start to the End, I just can't stop my head beating with these beats. Awesome!

- Franchesco Bruxelles

Linkin park roxxxxxxx!!!!

- Derkinfinity

It's 140 Rs because this copy of album tested by iTune and also this version is highest bit rate. Awesome. *・゜゚・*:.。..。.:*・'(*゚▽゚*)'・*:.。. .。.:*・゜゚・*。

- LOST IN LP

Amazing record LP......WOW!! & Thanks LP #LinkinPark #AlwaysAmazin' :)

- Not their best, but one of THE best of 2012

Linkin Park brings us their 5th studio effort, with another change in their sound. Although this time, the change in the musical direction implies visiting their old roots, and blissfully blending their previous styles into a complex, electronic and multilayered effort. One minute into the first track, "Lost in the Echo", is enough to throw you into a chasm of nostalgia, refreshing memories way back to Hybrid Theory. The tracks which follow, especially the piece de resistance Burn It Down, surprise your ears with the most unexpected ecstasy, yet you feel the absence of the spark present on each and every track on a LP record. It's only when you enter the "Castle of Glass" that you get the goosebumps of awe that so few tracks in every millennia accomplish so easily. The following track, "Victimized" is the polar opposite of its predecessor: heavy, brutal, hard hitting and, well, short (hence its codename Piledriver). A couple of folk songs (Roads Untravelled, Skin to Bone), an instrumental track (Tinfoil) lead us to the not-so-concluding "Powerless"; ergo: the longing for a closure you are left with after spending 37 minutes with this brilliant effort by Linkin Park, which just falls short of the finish line.

- LP

Roads Untraveled and Skin to Bone are easily the best songs. (In my opinion).

- LP

Epic!!

- I love linkin park then anyone else

The Best thing about linkin park is awesome because who ever likes what I said write me a comment please

- Amazing

Can't stop listening to it!

- Awesome

Linkin park at their best!!

- Stop calling this "progression"

I hate when artist distance themselves from the sound that made people love them, yes I agree that as a band you must grow and mature and change. But if it doesn't work, stop trying to force too many genres together. This electro stuff worked in moderation with tracks such as "what I've done" and basically "the transformer" soundtrack. But seriously this stuff isn't progression this is just slapping sounds together and trying to make them fit. It doesn't work. I'm not saying go back to old Linkin Park but I can't buy the "progressive" movement they claim to be taking. The lyrics are still "I hate my life and my ex girlfriend" the same as old linkin park just wrapped in a "radio friendly" sound.

- Best so far

This album is awesome! Their best one yet (apart from Hybrid Theory, as their first). Not a bad song on here. Listened to it over and over for the past week and still not sick of it!

- Living things album Awsome

This album is awsome!!! I like Burn it down

- The best album i have bought in years!!!!

HOW IS THIS ALBUM NOT NO.1???.....Bought the album two days ago and have listen from start to finish a dozen times already..can not get enough =P. LP at its finest. <3

- Stunning Album

Great album and big LP fan. Good mix of songs like their older albums. Castle of glass and powerless easily the best songs in the album. Looking forward to the next album

- extreme disapointment

extremely disapointed, the prerelease of burn it down got me excited for the new album but the rest are the songs have no flow and very soft, songs like numb were your highpoint.

- A Great Album

Nice to see LP continue on their way of making great albums, with more importance given to the telling of emotions they have surpassed the typical 'Nu-metal' genre

- Cheaper at jb

It's $14.99 at jb hifi people

- Awesome

True, they have changed their sound but they are still awesome! This album is a must have!

- A bit disappointed

Big LP fan, but I'm starting to really dislike this "electronic rock" stuff.

- Welcome back Linkin Park! You've been truly missed

A fantastic return to form from these gentlemen. Living things is a truly epic and powerful album with songs straight from the get go that make you bounce and dance not too mention how the album follows from one song to the next superbly with no interruptions and very little breaking in terms of keeping the energy up, and this flow effect is most notable with individual songs such Lost in the Echo, Burn it Down, Lies, Greed, Misery, Castle of Glass and Victimized that will become fan favourites. In a sentence, Living Things is a complete album; very well constructed and built it has taken the experimental design of A Thousand Suns and got it right with a throw back to hints of flavour from Hybrid Theory, Meteora and Minutes to Midnight. This mixture has generated such a fantastic new sound for them that the album can easily become addictive, its easy just to slip the disc in to your CD player and just let it run through all 12 songs! A must buy that will please both the casual and the hardcore Linkin Park fans and could easily be the biggest and best album for 2012!

- :)

Honestly speaking, I liked their old stuff much more, possibly because that's what made me fall in love with Lp in the first place. But this album isn't bad this somehow has influences from all their albums especially "a thousand suns" I have to say that they sound like theyve gone mellow and not really rock anymore. But I still love them. Just wish they released an album like meteora and hybrid. Just saying.

- Simply awesome

Love all LP albums, have followed them from the start and they never fail to disappoint. Well done guys. xx

- Linkin Park <3

I'm a huge Linkin Park fan and am so glad that LIVING THINGS is a great album. A Thousand Suns was a total let down, so i was worried if LIVING THINGS was going to be any good. Thankfully, yes! It's really great! There's deep lyrics, personal feeling and an awesome range of different styles.WOO LP!!!

- Terrible.

I have been a Linkin Park fan for a long time, and for them to release a album like this is very disappointing. Linkin Park fans want their old sounds back, If i wanted to listen to songs like this i would just turn on American top 40. Would not recommend this album.

- Best Album Ever!

I've loved Linkin Park for a while and even though I am a devoted fan this is the best album EVER!!!!!

- Happy

Great album, really enjoyed it, to the people who spoke their own opinions about the album, good on you for speaking up. At the end of the day it all comes down to preference, I listen to a very wide range of music so I didn't see to many issues with the mix of sounds they've had in their music in the last few albums..

- Amazing

best albumen they have my made 10 out of ten

- 6 STAR

Just fantastic, incorporating old and new with some killer vocals , beats and rym's ..... LPU FOREVER.

- Best Linkin Park album since Meteora

I've been a dedicated LP fan since Their first album Hybrid Theory. Their third album, Minutes to Midnight disappointed me and A Thousand Suns made me lose faith in a great band (however I have grown to enjoy A Thousand Suns as a concept album). I was a little unsure of which direction LP would take with this release but after giving the album a complete listen, I must say they're back in form!

- Back to form

I really love the album - reading around the net about its release, the band refer to it as a combination of all the albums so far and they're absolutely spot on. I'm much more a fan of the first two albums as opposed to the more electronic sounds of the second two albums, but Living Things blends them all so well. A big, catchy album with signature Linkin Park sound - still pushing those unique boundaries since Hybrid Theory.

- Linkin Park has done it!

I was always a fan of the old Linkin Park; you know Hybrid Theory and Meteora. When Minutes to Midnight and A Thousand Suns came out, I was a little disappointed. They were turning slower, showing their maturity which wasn't great, to me anyway. But this album has set their standards! Linkin Park has once again built up themselves to make an incredible album. "Powerless" will NEVER leave my head! Thank you Linkin Park for such an album! <3 ~

- Won't Match

I like the album… but I bought it elsewhere and it won't add to my iTunes Match so, yes, I am dropping a star.

- Amazing!

Well done guys this is a great CD, love it! love the way they can change their style without changing it so much that they are still the Linkin Park we love and still as awesome as ever!

- Awesome!!!

LP has always made the best musics.. Thanks Lp!!

- Bringing All Albums into One BIG MEGA Album

One way to exlain: Hybrid Theory + Meteora + Minutes To Midnight + A Thousand Suns = LIVING THINGS the Kings of Nu Metal are back with to their roots with the hardest hitting album since Meteora. using the Screams and Rapping from Hybrid theory and Meteora, and combing it with Minutes to Midnight's Rocky Riffs and A Thousand Suns Electronics you get one hell of a album. Whether you're a Fan of their Earlier or Latest Work, This album will blow your Mind!

- Bravo

One band one million sounds brilliant

- meh

Too electronic for my tastes

- Awsome

Need to make more songs like lost in the echo and in my remains

- Pretty good

Pretty good. LP fan since hybrid theory. Living things is a pretty good album. A little bit of there heavy stuff has krept into this album. THANK GOODNESS there isn't any songs in this album that go for 30 seconds "A thousand suns" Similar sounds and beats to a thousand suns. But the style of the music is caught inbetween old and new style such as minutes to midnight. Mike and Chester don't really have a song where they calibrate together. Such as hybrid theory and meteora. But its good to hear from you guys again. You have been my favorite band of all time. You never disappoint me.

- It's pretty good

I think lp has really tried hard with this album. Every album from linkin park always has an original sound, even minutes to midnight (their most radio friendly album) was still kept fresh, what I love about linkin park is they keep changing the type of Material they make, yes I do think they changed for the worse on a thousand suns, to be honest I thought that album was rather over produced with way too many pointless interludes, it was also very slow and repetitive. But this album, living things is a huge improvement, it's much more energetic, the lyrics are more meaningful and every song is different. I really like at how they have reincorporated all their past albums while still keeping a brand new sound. Although I still like hybrid theory and meteora more, I definitely think that is a solid album. Well done lp!

- LIVING THINGS - AWESOME

LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! To me there ARE songs akin to those from the beginning - which is why I've followed them from the start. We obviously all have albums that we prefer - but I'll be playing this A LOT! Thanks guys.

- Absolutely Amazing!

Wow I can't believe how well Linkin Park managed to pull this off, each and every song on the album is great and beautiful to listen to. An easy 5/5 from me! Keep up the great work LP!

- Perfecttttt<3

Yeaaaaaaaassss!! :D

- Awesome

To be honest I just heard about Linkin Park a week ago from some of my friends and I thought I'd check em out. Now this band is definitely one my most favorite bands they are totally awesome! And for all those people who don't like this album because it has a few soft songs in it they have no taste. If there is a song that just has deafening music and a guy screaming they suddenly fall in love with it. But it doesn't matter that Linkin park has released soft songs in this album because they are GOOD songs.

- Finally...FINALLY!

Yes I'm a fan like you who heard catalyst off their thousand sun album and thought 'sweet new linkin park album Im gonna get it!' but was diasappointed...but after getting this album they have definately redeemed themselves. Its a great album. You can feel the old energy from the first song till the end. They've come a long way. Well done boys. FINALLY!!!

- Awesome

Great album from LP. Burn it down, lies greed misery and especially powerless are the best. Tinfoil was an absolute waste of time

- amazing

just amazing

- awesome review

with a mix of old and new linkin(mostly old) park this album does not fail to impress, all of the songs are good and don't lack in anyway if you are any sort of linkin park fan you will love this album

- Amazing!!

Awesome album, in my remains, ill be gone and burn it down really hit the spot the rest are hit and miss

- It's LP leaking into obscurity

I've enjoyed the experimental nature of the previous 2 or 3 LP albums but felt disappointed by the hit and miss nature of them. I remember being so much more excited about LP so many years ago...

- Great songs

I like every song in this album but victimized. Linkin park never disappoints me

- Its good

I love burn it down I like listen to 24/7 it's my alarm clock and everything :)))))))))))) Were building it up To burn it down Cant wait to burn it to the ground I was convicted.........................

- Wow.

In my opinion their best album yet. Yes, better than Hybrid. They have such an awesome mix of the electric elements of A Thousand Suns and the epic rock elements from their other albums like Hybrid. I'm in love with this new approach they have to their music. A must buy for ANY Linkin Park fan, new or old.

- GREAT! BEST ALBUM YET!

why would anyone rate this anything but 5 stars. It's LPs best album yet!

- Masterpiece

It is truly amazing, their combination of rap and back to some of Chester's screaming roots all mixed in make it fantastic, a must buy for any LP fan you won't be dissapointed <3

- Good

Its not as good as their earlia albems i admit, but everyone is really complaining about this, i think its a good thing as i wouldnt want to hear a repeat of their ealrier albems.. this ablem is defiantly better than their last a thousand sons.. so good on them!

- Fantastic!

Linkin Park have always been and still remain one of THE greatest bands on the planet, FACT. This album is certainly a notch above 'a thousand suns', and has a great variety of sounds within its armoury. I have to admit their first two albums are my favourite, however I have immensly enjoyed all of their albums and I for one are glad that they altered their style slightly, otherwise we wouldn't have this masterpiece to listen to! I agree with Mike Shinoda when he says that LP cannot be classified or defined by a single genre as they were at first (Nu-Metal), there are no other bands like them. I personally would love it if they went a bit heavier again on their next album, and they definately shouldn't view that as being a step back musically, just revisiting something that made them amazing and renowned around the globe. However I don't mind which direction they go (unless it's a Justin Bieber tribute album!), as whatever they produce it is bound to be phenomonal!!!!!!

- Dreadful!

This isn't a good album at all it sounds more like a dance record than a Linkin Park album. Was expecting something great to happen but just didn't get it at all. Why are people buying this? I suggest you listen to some proper music and go and buy the Latest releases by Katatonia or Paradise Lost, music with real depth, meaning, emotion and with elements of heaviness! you won't be disappointed. Do what's right and stop playing this tripe and open your minds!

- QUALITY!

Every song in this album is excellent well worth your money.By the way, do not listen to the bad reviews, this album is exceptional. I like the new LP style.

- "Back to their roots"... No not quite!

Weather this album wass mastered for i-tunes or for Queen Elizabeth it's still not "back to their roots". It's slightly better than their last 2 abortions but still not the Linkin Park the fans clearly want. I've seen thousands of fans walk away from the stage while Linkin Park played their new Material. We want the old Linkin Park... Limp Bizkit have stayed true to their roots. Why can't Linkin Park???? Bring back the old Linkin Park or retire gracefully. Stop trying to palm us, (The Fans) of with this poor diluted excuse for a metal/rock band you have become.

- Amazing

I just bought this album and it's great some of linked parks greatest hits in it and it now has castle of glass which is currently my new favourite song. Worth every penny!

- Living things

Good on about half of the songs but the songs that are good are very good.

- im not happy itunes

when i buy a album i would of though i would of got all the tracks from that album but thats not the case with this album as for some reason you don't get track 6 (castle of glass) apart from that its a good album ..

- LIVING THINGS

OH YES....AWESOME!!!!!!!

- LIVING THINGS

amazing new sound from linkin park love it defo worth the money LP 4EVER!!!!!!

- What a great album

LP have produced another outstanding album have always been a massive fan from day one and will continue to stand by them.

- 100% Love it!

Okay. We get it. People want "the old LP back" seriously? This album is a love child of the four previous studio albums. I think this is one of their best records. And I'm saying that as a music lover and an LP fan. Don't like the album? Don't buy it, don't listen to it. Don't argue with ones who do. Yes, everyone has their own opinion. But we aren't going to go comment something bad about a song/band/album that you like. LP have more guts than 99% of all bands out there because they take risks. And even if those risks don't go where they want, they pick themselves up and carry on. They could've so easily have gone back to the style of the first two albums because they knew it would be a hit. But then, and only then, would they be (as a lot of you like calling them now) sellouts. Linkin Park are incredible and continue to amaze me. And I just want to thank them and thank all the fans out there. You guys rock as much as the band does!

- Linkin Park redeem them selves

After many of the old fans saw the failure of thousand suns as it brought linkin park to mainstream and they didn't listen leaving thier old fans behind. This new album hoped to change this and I when I first heard that it was coming and I ignored it and didn't give it a chance. However when I saw this in a sale I thought I would give it a try. When I first listen to it I wasn't impressed at all but after a second listen of Lost in the Echo I realized that they were back and this is the way it should have been. I never thought I would never see an album like it by them ever again! The final 1 minute and 15 seconds of Lost in The Echo could be one of my favourite Linkin Park moment and it is still filled with many suprises. The only reason its 4/5 is that there are a few songs that are similar to a Thousand Suns which I don't mind to be honest as it is good to see them back.

- Disgrace

Linkin park are a disgrace. This is dreadful music aimed at people with very little imagination and no comprehension of what real music should sound like.

- Wow

Greatest album of all time. Well done LP I always listen to it really good. Don't listen to the bad reviews this album and songs are great (don't know why every song is in capitals) 👉 LP forever 👈

- Living Things Review

This is a great album by Linkin Park! It really grows on you and gets better the more you listen to it. But don't expect it to be like their old albums. It sounds different but is still as amazing! My personal favourites are burn it down and castle of glass. I highly recomend this album to any lover of Linkin Park and music in general!

- Alright

It is a good album Full of good songs, but most of them are too soft. Not really liking the soft part. If they make more songs like LIES GREED MISERY and VICTIMIZED in their next album, it would be so awesome that the disc shall be made of platinum!

- They never dissapoint

Linkin Park have blown us away once again, they only get better and better.

- WHOOO

BEST ALBUM EVER!!!!!!!

- This album rules

After reading down a few of the comments to see not many people like this album I ask myself why? Yes it's not like the past albums but that's a good thing surly it shows how the band are moving in different directions and that's what people want from an artist not the same old crap that get churned out these days. This album cannot be that bad as my partner never used to like any form of alternative music and this album changed his mind. It's not all about screaming down the microphone so noone understands you. Yes it's soft but that's good I love if and if your not sure listen to a friends album before you buy it. Don't just slate it on here.

- Brilliant!

Best linkin park album since meteora!

- Living Things

Without doubt the biggest load of pish I've ever heard!! How can they go from hybrid theory to this crap! I nearly poohed my pant the first time I heard hybrid theory it was that good! Stop recording please you've killed what you started!! R.I.P

- MY FAVOURTIE ALBUM OF ALL TIMES

In love with this<3 absolutely amazing album, well done Linkin Park! Not gonna lie, Im a very very new fan of theirs, only discovered them yesterday in fact! But I L O V E their work! Favourite band and album. Best songs are from track number 1 to 12 ;D A must buy. BUY BUY BUY. Thankyou x x x

- Great

Great mix of hybrid theory and meteora style music with minutes to midnight music. They still got it

- A Refreshing Change

I will admit, I really love LP's old stuff, the more hard-y kind of thing, gave them edge; but this is such a refreshing change. They showed potential in the electronic genre, and this album has really brought out their skill in it. I know they were nervous about making such a big jump into a snake pit with this album, but I think they have done a very good job. Although, it was maybe a little TOO electronic in some songs. Admittedly, 'Lies Greed Misery' filled my taste for more metal, but maybe this could be incorperated into more songs for albums to come? But overall, very good.

- Better than best

This is the best album of this year to me !!!!!!!!! Can't stop listening to it!!!!! The more I listen the better it gets..... N more I get into the album!!!!

- No

I despised ATS at first, but grew to like it due to it's depth of emotion projected from the speeches incorporated in the tracks and the more pure sound of singing as a pose to rapping and screaming. It was different, but good in it's own way. This album is everything ATS was without the things that made it acceptable. The forced rage pushed into songs such as Victimized just screams of desperation for the ire they once possessed, I personally found the chorus of that song embarassing. The synth isn't even good. In a rock band you want synth that goes hand in hand with the instruments, like in Wretches and Kings, not bouncing about behind them with annoying techno sounds. Of course LP needed to grow, but this was not the way forward in my opinion.

- Absolutely amazing

Lies Greed Misery, Lost in the Echo, Victimized, I'll Be Gone, Castle of Glass and Powerless/Tinfoil are my absolute favourites but honestly I love every single song they've ever created.

- Superb

Fantastic album pure genius keep it goin linkin park

- Over rated

At first I was like wow but then after listening to this i listened to meteora then there was a huge difference, meteora and ht are much better than this

- Excelent

Awesome album! linkin park for ever! ✌

- Living Things

Lost In the Echo - 9/10 In My Remains - 10/10 Burn It Down - 10/10 Lies Greed Misery - 9/10 I'll Be Gone - 10/10 Castle Of Glass - 8/10 Victimized - 6/10 Roads Untraveled - 7/10 Skin To Bone - 9/10 Until It Breaks - 8/10 Tinfoil - 9/10 Powerless - 10/10 Living Things - 9/10

- Amazing!

Great album, great band I say no more ^_^

- Astonishing

This is great, they're bringing back their old style and combining it with the new, absolutely ace! My favourite band never fail to impress me! Love the whole albumn! BRILLIANT!

- BACK TO THEIR BEST

...AFTER A FEW DODGY ALBUMS, BUT SUCH A SHAME IT IS SO SHORT UNDER 40 minutes !!! maybe we became spoiled by longer cds before, wonder if an extended version comes for christmas time !

- Good comeback

This is a great comeback from the catalyst. It's different but they have still included the stuff we love about LP.

- Good, not amazing.

If you're expecting an album like Hybrid Theory or Meteora, expect to be disappointed. They're not the same band they used to be but it's still worth buying.

- 2 Stars for 2 Songs

This isn't the Linkin Park I fell in love with. Only really like Burn it down and Lost in the Echo. Very disappointed, built my hopes up for them to be smashed by this rubbish.

- Yep

I like it, but I wouldn't want another album like it. Good to listen to, but it doesn't carry the weight of any of their other albums. Best songs in my opinion are Castle Of Glass, Lost In The Echo and Burn It Down.

- amazing

just gets better every album keep it up

- Amazing

Words can't describe how brilliant this album is. Just as good as there first album. Has lots of different songs for all types of genres from being loud and fast to ones which are slower and more heart felt

- Linkin park 'living things'

I admit that this is not one of linkin parks best albums. I also have to admit that it isn't a terrible album either , they still got it. What I like about linkin park is they can still manage to sound good and modern without losing there original style , unlike most bands now days. If you are buying this album just to compare it to earlier releases then yes , you will be disappointed. However if you just learn to let go of your inner critic you will then , like me , love this album. I only gave it 4 stars because like I said its not one of there best and it's not one of there worst.

- Lp

To be frank I was a bit sceptical about living things but it is brilliant I have many different play lists for different things linkin park is in all of them

- Amazing Album! Seriously guys stop hating each other...

I understand why people don't like this album and I respect their opinions. I also respect Linkin Park for being one of the few bands out there who are brave enough to change their music in the way they like and the direction that they feel like their music is heading. This brings me to my next point. I love the old Linkin Park and the new Linkin Park and everyone is different so stop hating each other because they like or don't like the new sound that Linkin Park has produced. ;) Peace out homies and Live Long Linkin Park!

- They're BACK!!!!

Listening to this brings me back to Hybrid Theory, Linkin Park never lets their fans down. AWESOME!!!!!!!!

- Lost it

I keep hoping for a return to their early high standard, rubbish again.last time I buy their music, all hope now gone.

- I like this

I thought this album was great, yeah not the best, but still great

- D:

such an awesome album! its gr8 and i love it idc what people say

- One of their best

Brilliant album
