I don't listen to the radio often, but one day I was sure glad I did when I heard this peculiar piece titled 'Sweater Weather.' By the first verse I was instantly overcome and absolutely captivated by the nostalgia and ambiance of the track. I just had to look up the artist. To my pleasant surprise I found an entire record full of inspiring, reflective and yet dark and spine-chilling musical brilliance. An absolute true work of art, from start to finish, that so effortlessly embodies human emotion, entices the mind and body, empowers the spirit, emits incredible imagery and evokes one to question perspective. I personally love the unique haunting soundscapes derived from both rock and hip-hop, the androgynous voice of the lead vocalist, Jesse Rutherford and the alternate viewpoint and wide spectrum of topics expressed through the group's music. I've listened to alternative music for a long time and through the years it has mostly all sounded the same. That's what really attracted me to this group because I've never heard anything like them before. From the subjects discussed, instrumentals, the mystique of the album cover itself and lyrics all the way to the band members themselves they are truly original. The Neighbourhood, "I Love You" and I can't wait for what you come up with next!

This is awesome I knew from them for Sweater weather but the album is amazing. There's something very mysterious abut them and is mesmerizing mind blowing.

alleyways was the first song i had ever heard from the neighbourhood, and i just fell in love with the song. the lyrics were beautifully placed. can’t wait to hear more from them.

i will have been in love with this band for two years as of this May. and for the past two years, i have seen this band and its members put their heart and soul into their music and their fans. their lyrics are so deep and personal and i feel safe listening to them. jesse's voice gives me total peace of mind. the instrumentals are inimitable and beautiful and dark. i have been in love with them since the first time i heard them. and this band is not simply my favorite band. it has become a part of me. they keep me alive. the neighbourhood is the best thing that this planet has ever seen. this album was their benchmark in finally achieving what they had been working for.

It's pretty much hit or miss and that's really frustrating because they have so much potential. There great songs like Sweather Weather and Female Robbery, but also poor ones such as Everybody's Watching me and Flawless. Would recommend streaming if you have the time.

Although I never heard about them early on and I only found about them when one of my older cousins told me how she liked one of the many remixes of Sweater Weather. When I listened to it, it was like nothing is ever heard before it was amazing. Later on that day I searched the band up and got hooked once I listened to the other songs. They certainly don't disappoint. Love this band.

I love the neighbourhood's music and vocals but (Warning hipster statement ahead) I hope they don't become too popular. I'd hate to see constant parodies and random teenage girls screaming, " OH MY GOD I LIVE THIS SONG," when they don't know the name of the song or band. I am greedy, I would prefer to keep this amazing music all to my self but they are talented enough to become "mainstream."

Here we are, over two years later and this is still one of my favorite alternative albums of all time. The melancholy strums and dark beats are still representative of what the Neighbourhood's all about, and relistening to this album prior to the "Wiped Out!" Release is just getting me more excited.

The thing I like about this album is that the sound is unlike anyone else's right now and it isn't completely perfected to a tee, but because of that it is what makes it so nice to listen too. The five artists groove together highlighting each other and Jesse has such a raw and clear voice that is so new and keeps me hooked. Also on a finishing note the vision the band is trying to display for the world and all the fans is incredible because even it sets them apart from other bands and you know who it is when you see them on tv or the internet. I am absolutely in love with all the melodies, harmonies and lyrics. Overall really thrilled with how this album turned out and always excited for more! xoxo Hoodlum4life

Here are some songs that don't hesitate to make your spine tingle. The sound is completely original and wonderfully memorable. Let it Go is my personal favourite, followed by Staying Up - it's delightful how the lyrics and sound make you feel somehow haunted and calm.

My friend introduced me to the neighbourhood about a month ago and I absolutely fell in love with their sound. This album does not disappoint. The underlying baselines and beats are top notch as can be expected. The lyrics is fresh and JR just tears up the vocals! Do yourself a favour and buy it!!

The Neighbourhood, in the short time span of a few months, have instantly become my favourite band. They are different, unique and so unlike any other genre of music. It's arguable they set their own. This album is a hit with several amazing and sexy songs, both musically and lyrically, and there is no way you could be disappointed by their sound.
