Disturbed is a fantastic band and their two newest hits Vengeful One and their cover of the Sound of Silence are worth $9.99 on their own. Both songs are epically good. Unfortunately the rest of the album falls flat under the enormous pressure those two hits create. Vaguely experimental and entirely exhausting to listen to, most of the songs are a variation on the Vengeful One’s over all theming of power howled choruses and overdone sentimentally archaic lyrics. Everything feels rushed, the beat, the phrasing and guitar solos which is unfortunate because it cuts off one of the bands biggest assets which is the beautifully haunting and powerful singing voice of their lead singer. Perhaps if he had an opportunity to catch his breath throughout the album it would have felt more like one instead of a audio marathon. Overall, in this Deluxe album, almost every track feels like a bonus track, and that’s not necessarily a good thing. Stick to the hits this round and save your extra $$$ for concert merch.

People say that Disturbed is a bad band for ripping off a Beatles song “Sound of Silence” ... Well i say Shut up! they IMPROVED the song! And “Tyrant” and “Vengeful One” are one of the best!!! Please if you like rock and value yourself listen to “Sound of Silence”, “Tyrant”, “Never Wrong”, and “W- “ just listen to the whole album its one of their BEST! Please.

These songs are worse than The Sickness! I hate the Sound of Silence by this band. It sounds stupid when a metal band does a cover for a ballad or slow folk music song. Disturbed please go back to your old days where it was like Down with the sickness instead! And real metal not orchestra metal. Doesn’t make sense but still okay. And I tolerate it since it is an interesting combination of music orchestra with metal. I still listen to it since it’s okay about 53.5 percent good sicne I like the sound of the drums and instruments. But his voice I like about 60 percent and forty percent it sounds interesting but at the same time annoying. I like his regualr voice in metal songs about 65.5 singly better it’s only good sicne he has an interesting voice but people you should still listen to clean and good Christian metal music that doesn’t honor satan at least such as Wolves at the gate! A Christian hard rock band called RED whcih is about 70 percent hard rock, 60 by metal, 40 rock, 20 metal and thirty percent plays ballads and slow songs that sounds like disturbed about sixty percent and forty percent not only because they scream and are hard rock too basically similar music styles but the realms it’s only sixty eleventh is because one of Christian and other is secular band and they have different voices and music sounds too. They are good too and Skillet is also pretty good too. They sound like disturbed about 40 percent since they are slightly less heavy and are just Christian hard rock mostly. But-still They are heavy about sixty percent. Red screams about 70 percent and forty percent Disturebd screams sort of forty percent. Only a few signs but he yells about 70 percent and they sing about 30 percent normal and red sings normal about 60 percent mostly except in riffs or ends where he screams or beginning lines. And forty percent screams don’t listen this album it’s about 40 percent good and sixty percent trash still. 45.4 percent their album Sickness was okay. Since I their song Down with sickness is fine sort of about 55.6 percent fine. But it’s still not good music really!

Not even through the album, and already have 4 songs worth testing the speakers with. This album is fire!

They are still good but just like other bands who got old, they are more concerned with making sure their "life poetry" gets across and the overall song suffers. Same reason why linkin park turned indie, metallica turned "punk", and kid rock turned country. Just do what ac/dc does and make the same stuff over and over again and we will still buy it when you're 80.

Draiman’s “to the neon gods they made” in The Sound of Silence is literally a religious experience. You’re Mine is also the band’s first foray into a love song, and it’s gorgeous and fierce. You can really feel how much Draiman adores his wife through it.

This album has so much meaning and depth about life. Gotta say right now with what I’m going through in life their songs “the light, and save our last goodbye, and sound of silence” is really hitting home. Job well done disturbed. Wish the lead singer would do more ballads. He has a beautiful voice.

Close to 5 stars, more like 4/8.5 stars (because of Fire it Up) This album is not as good as The Sickness, Indestructible, or Ten Thousand Fists, but is still in the same league, and dare I say it, better than Believe. The problem with Believe was that all the songs had the same sound, and same voice, unlike other Disturbed Albums. Songs like Sound of Silence, Vengeful One, Who, and Who Taught you How to Hate makes this album great and puts it on the same plate as Indestructible. I love this album, and there really shouldn't be any hate on it. (Yes, I know, I finally took the time to review it.)

This is the band's "Load" Metallica equivalent. Hear me out. Sure the black album was very mainstream, but load was really where everything came mainstream. That's this album. I've been a fan for a long time, and hearing even just the production of this album dissapoints me. The snare has tons of reverb and less crack to it, which tends to be a more mainstream thing these days. The bass is very low in the mix as well. And these songs sound very pop-influenced and mainstream. I'm gonna just stick to Ten Thousand Fists and Believe

Don’t listen to many of Disturbed’s songs, but The Vengeful One and Immortalized are the ones I’ve purchased an they’re 4/5 and 5/5, respectively. Their cover of the Sound Of Silence, however is 10/5! Very awesome! Just wish I would’ve known about it when I bought those other two I mentioned!

From the rocking The Vengeful One (one of my new favourite songs to run to at 4am) to the haunting melody of The Sound of Silence (a darker toned version of the Simon & Garfunkel classic) this album is full of great songs that fans will love and much welcomed return from hiatus.

We've been waiting a while, but the wait was worth it! Easily their best work since "The sickness" in my opinion, maybe even their best to date. Really enjoyable!!

This is just as dissapointing as Bullet For My Valentine's new album, don't get me wrong, I love Disturbed, but they are past it. This album proves it. Two of Metal's biggest bands have released two very dissapointing efforts. I guess it's up to BMTH and PWD to save the genre this year.

It is so moving that it reaches into my chest and clenches my heart. I become so emotional when I hear it due to the depth and passion coming from the singer, David, and the band. WOW!!!

Disturbed has by far outdone themselves this time... The Sound Of Silence is just AMAZING!!! I saw it being downloaded because I didn't see the full album before it was made available and I thought they titled a song called Sound of Silence??? Do they not realise it's already a famous song? Wait is it a cover? Omg it's a cover... And let me tell you, as an avid Simon & Garfunkel fan I think that this is far better than the original... Just the vocals and the tempo give this song a whole new depth and it is just fantastic! 10 out of 10 for sure!

Certainly not what I was expecting and totally different from Asylum. Songs that have got me excited are - The Light, You're Mine, Sound of Silence, Legion of Monsters, The Vengeful One. I must admit they have throw a spanner into the engine but loving it so far. The more you listen the more you like it.

I just downloaded and listened to the album and absolutely loved it. One some of the songs they strayed form what they usually do and it mostly turned out well (The Sound of Silence), but was not a fan of Fire it Up. This being said I like that they are attempting new things and sounds, most people complain about change, but I believe Disturbed are mostly headed in the right direction

Since I left my rock I was living under and heard the indulging sound of Disturbed, I went crazy on them! However when I found out they decided to go 'Indefinite hiatus' I felt very sad, then I hear about them making a new album... AND THEY'RE BACK! Just as good, if not better than before, I almost cried from every possible location and cannot wait for this beautiful album to come out! :) Disturbed 'til the end!
