About American Rhapsody by Annie Moses Band Album
From Warner Classics American Rhapsody (2015) is Annie Moses Band’s sweeping American musical panorama, from the eastern shores to Gershwin and beyond. Julliard-trained instrumentalists, the six siblings of the Annie Moses band are also skilled arrangers and singer-songwriters. Influences range from American country, folk and bluegrass. American Rhapsody has all the folk elements they are known for – Shenandoah and Fare Thee Well – with a strong classical seam running through, with melodies from Dvorak’s American Quartet and Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue (here arranged for strings) woven into an American musical tapestry. Annie Moses Band recorded American Rhapsody at Blackbird Studios, and The Sound Kitchen in Nashville, Tennessee, 2014.
