- Lyrics of cut the cord,

Cut it! Let me tell you I’m vicious now past aggressive I got my finger Stravin at the hole and I don’t get it and I’m a savige it’s automatic. I got a way of making noise the power to destroy with no static. [Preius chourus] cause victory is all you need so cultivate and plant the seed hold your breath and just count to ten I’m gonna make it rain so ring a bell I know it all to well switchblade to the edge of your wrist can I get witness cause asaguny brings no reward and one more hit and more score don’t be a casualty cut the cord! You gotta feel courage embarace possession

- True to form!!!

Wicked. Good. Album! Period. Anything less than 5 stars for this album is sacrilegious. Well done!

- Rock is Dead

This band had a great distinctive sound that you always think of when you think about their music like Creed does for example. This album is good for poppy rock music fans I suppose but this just shows another example of how true rock music has died and I don't think it'll come back

- HATERS GONNA HATE!

Evolved! That’s what Shinedown is! Turn this up to 11 and blow the critics out of the room!

- State of my Head

I purchased State of my Head by Shinedown and this stupid I Tunes will only play 9 seconds of it. I should not had to pay for something I can't listen to. I have tried and tried to contact anyone at Apple or I Tunes and nothing. I think it stinks.

- Ganders56

Best album ever- better than Sound of Madness ? Love the more ballad style music vs the simple screaming that some rock groups are in to. Songs have heart and meaning. -Videos are cool too 👍

- Not the worst

It's an ok album but it's not Shinedown I love Shinedown they are one of my favorite bands and it's nice to see them trying to explore different styles of music but if you could please stay or at least somewhat be close to the old Shinedown

- Shinedown rocks

This is a great album, better than Amaryllis, almost as good as Sound of madness. Saw them live performing music from this album, best show of the year, better than Five Finger Death Punch.

- Serious Letdown

I don’t get all the comparisons to Nickleback. Nickleback rock harder than this. I loved Shinedown. I own multiple records of theirs and have seen them multiple times in concert. They were one of the greatest American rock bands out there. They took a huge step down with this album though. Too generic. Too slow. Too poppy. Where’s the angst? Where’s the emotion? Where’s the dynamic rock sound that you had basically trademarked? I hope it returns or you will have lost a fan with this new crap.

- What?!?

Man, what a bummer... I cannot bring myself to purchase this album, so disappointing. The previous releases are so far above this, particularly The Sound Of Madness. I think they lost their souls...

- Not their best effort

This album is ok, it's definitely a decent effort but not on par with previous Shinedown offerings. Amaryllis had soul and substance, and had excellent riffs and instrumentation. This album sounds as if it was built in a computer, rather than on instruments.

- Awesome

Simply love it!

- Disappointing

If your a fan of their work prior to 2012. This album is not for you.

- Shinedown

I have a very strange obsession with this band, I get so overly excited when I hear ANY of their songs to a point where I scare myself.

- Talent Prevails

I mean I have no words, this album is just pure gold.

- Love it

Great album

- Giddy-up!

Love it! Listen to it in the gym.

- Not good

This is by far their worst album. It only has a few good songs on it.

- True Rockers

I've loved Shinedown since they started and this is probably the best they've had yet!

- AA

This is not like the other albums by Shinedown. When I first heard this album I was dissapointed in it and thought to myslef, this is not Shinedown. I really enjoyed all there albums up to this one. I hope they get back to the style they use to be with there earlier albums.

- Love it

Just because this music is different than what they usually do doesn't mean it's bad, it's amazing.

- My bad lol

Ok so at first I said I was disappointed, well I was probably just stuck in the old fast paced sound. This is actually in fact, really good! I now notice a lot of thought put into this album. And I good thing I notice now too because they just announced their sixth album

- SELLOUTS

Their first three albums were good, then they end up making songs for the radio now. :(

- Not Shinedown

I've been listening to their music for about a year or two now and they just changed their whole stile of music. Shinedown was made of pure rock and believe me there is some rock in this like cut the cord but it doesn't match to their past. This is like a new brand of pop that Shinedown was never known for. I hope there next album will actually be rock and not this disappointing pop.

- Did Not Disappoint

No band is ever going to satisfy everyone which is evident by some of the reviews out here. I love each and every one of Shinedown's albums as the stand alone entities that they are and this album is no exception. Plain and simple this albums rocks. It's more of a throw back to the days before all the over production on studio albums. It's refreshing. I can't wait to see what they have in store for us in the future. Until then, I'll continue to rock out to this album and the others.

- Shinedown

Amazing

- How Did You Love?

"How Did You Love" was the best song to come out of 2015, hands down. I still get chills whenever I listen to it.

- Your dead if u don’t like this

This song helps me get through my day thinking about it please buy this show shine down u love em these are the songs that help cut the cord, asking for it and state of my head that one is the best to me my fav

- Fan from ROTR 2016

Heard 1st time them at Rotr Ohio, best band performance of the night in my opinion better than Disturbed was why I went to begin with. A total fan now downloading new and old music from Shinedown. For those who complain I'm sorry u feel that way change and variety is a good thing it is not a sell out. 😎

- Another great album!

I think it's funny that people keep on and on about how much they don't like there new sound. They evolved. In order to continue to make great music you have to. Some people want the old shinedown sound back. Brent was doing $2500 worth of cocaine a week plus pills on top of that. Now he is clean and doesn't have to write about the horror that's in his head. His kid saved his life. Now shinedown is more successful than ever. And the funniest thing about all of it is that they are more successful now because of the people that still like there sound and the people that "don't". After all you people that don't are still buying there albums.

- Buy it!

One of my favorite albums. Every song is good in my opinion. I can’t get enough of this album. Does Shinedown ever produce bad music? The answer is no. This album may be different from the rest but I give it 10/10 stars.

- Meh

With each new song I hear my interest in this band fades further.

- New Sound

It’s not what Shinedown used to be, it’s evolved with the new age and still sounds roaring and gritty and I still love it, they only get better.

- ROCK AT ITS FINEST

Five stars

- Perfect Pump Music

My son and I listen to this album all the time. His favorite for baseball pump music is State of My Head.

- Amazing😍

This is an amazing album!! There isn't a song I do not like!! Can't wait to see them in concert in September!!

- Nickelback Part 2

Gone are the days of Sound of Madness. This is pure radio pop music with one or two rockers thrown in. This band used to be a no nonsense hard rock force. Now, much like post-grunge counterparts Nickelback, they are release albums for the sole purpose of getting rock AND pop radio play. The soul of the music is gone, and Smith's powerful roock vocals are wasted.

- What happened?

Its not terrible its just not anything worth listening to. Dang what a shame.

- New sound brings new fans

I hardly gave Shinedown any thought until I saw them this year on tour with FFDP. Totally blew me and my family away. I thought they put on one hell of a show and were much better live than FFDP. After hearing songs from this great album, I explored the previous stuff and liked it just as much. I've bought 10 different songs since the concert after having none. Bands have to change it up to remain relevant. This is an awesome band. To stop being a fan based off one album is rather short-sighted. To complain they don't sound like they're previous albums is illogical.

- Classic

Brent and the boys did it again! Love the direction and the class act they are live ripping it up!

- Who is this?

Not Shinedown! Where did that signature go? No more hard guitar, more non-instrumental instruments. Too "Poppy". Honestly a complete disappointment. Best album is the "Sound of Madness"

- Workout music

Great free weight workout music.

- Shinedown

Another great album!!!

- Great

I have been a fan ever since the album "Leave a Whisper" came out, and I think that Shinedown is one of the greatest rock bands ever! The only thing that I can add to make it better is adding Zach Myers as the lead vocalist for a couple songs!!!!🎧👍

- What?!?!?? BUY THIS NOW

You're kidding me right?!?? What's with all the comments that this is not good? We are lucky to have bands like this still producing great stuff with all the crap being thrown at us from "so called artists". The idiots trashing this have not bought the album obviously. This is amazing. Just let it play, every single song is incredible. Money well spent. Didn't think I'd find another complete album that I like as much as "Sound of Madness", but I was wrong. This is on that level. Money well spent.

- An Amazing Album

I have never liked every single song on an album before! People who complain that Shinedown no longer has the same sound clearly have cotton in their ears. There is a great mix of different sounds in the album that make every song unique and meaningful, which is something that not many artists can claim. I’m so glad that these guys have evolved into such amazing artists!

- I love it!

I love listening to this album. I enjoy listening to their other older albums too. I hope they continue to make great music.

- What?

Why does an amazing song appear on a horrible album? I was hoping for something amazing, seeing as how good Cut the Cord is. However what I get was something with nothing else that doesn’t make me yawn in boredom. These guys were one of the first metal bands I heard and instantly became a fan. This isn’t the Shinedown that I know and love.

- Well…

Another good Shinedown album. My problem with Shinedown is the singer tries too hard.

- Shinedown...?

I'm a big fan of Shinedown, and this album isn't bad, but it's definitely not like the stuff I love of Shinedown. There are a couple tracks like "Thick as Thieves" and "Misfits" that bring me back to their old stuff, and I think that those two are great, but other than those, this album is pretty much lacking in what made Shinedown's music unique and awesome.
