I thought their last album Bulletproof Picasso was less than their best production. This one isn't much better. The choice of songs aren't particularly inspiring and the style hold very little to the Train I loved. Combine that with the mix sounding like it was made for AM radio. This one won't get the heavy listening the earlier ones did. It's sad.
One of the most annoying bands out there somehow gets even worse. Play That Song borrows from a popular children's song yet isn't enough to save the track from its unoriginality and terrible lyrics. Wow.
sick
A true feel good song. Summer time drinks on the patio.
Train have gone from being a pretty decent 90's rock band with some very decent songs to just another pop act with some repetetive generic sounding pop songs. It's not all bad and Pat Monahan is still a very decent singer but I miss the old days I guess...
I love it ! Bring me nice memories, too bad some people don't appreciate, I was 😂 to se some negative comments. Variety in style is always good, it tells the profesional way the band can be. Congrats train . 😉
I rarely listen to a cd start to finish ,but this was fun . A GIRL A BOTTLE AND A BOAT IS A HIT!!!!!
I'm sure Train won't like the word vomit but that's exactly what I needed to do when I heard this album.
because they do not allow a 'No Star Rating'. No words for such mediocre songs. Save your money, buy a lobotomy instead.
Train has been on a downslide for the past 10 years. After losing key original members (Rob Hotchkiss, Charlie Colin, & Scott Underwood) the band sold out to mainstream pop radio with 'Hey, Soul Sister'. Train have always skirted with the Pop genre but never fully immersing themselves entirely. Not only did they stay true to the Alternative Rock genre respectively but also to their early days of melancholy, acoustic laden, chiming guitars & slide guitars. Until around 2009 things started going downhill. This album and its probable eventual success, will showcase not only how terrible today's Pop Rock world is but also just how our current state of society prefers mind numbing, recycled dance music over raw, guitar laden music that has substance.
No Matter the type of music they go for, they are simply the best. Pat Monahan...:) Thx for this new CD.

I don't know what inspiration Train have had with their last album and this one, but they are straying further and further away from what made them a great band: well made songs with thoughtful lyrics and deeper undertones. This album whilst it isn't bad, just doesn't feel like a Train album. It's generic pop through dance and R&B, nothing on it resonates or has any real depth. The closest that comes to old school train is Working Girl. I'm a huge fan of Train, but this is going down a different track. If you liked the last album, you'll like this one. Just don't expect anything like Mississippi or This Ain't Goodbye.
Oh dear its ok to try a little bit different, but this is too much! its just cheap pop rubbish, very disappointing ! not a patch on previous albums .Wont be buyingthis im afraid. so sad!
Different from the last few albums, but loving it already.. This is one of those albums I won't be tired of listening to..
Not their best album but could see 4 or 5 being mainstays in a train playlist. Catching my tunes, and string lyrics - how do they continue to do it. Play That Song, Valentine, The News & Drink Up are stand out so far!
Pretty lit if you ask me
Very good. I'm very impressed.
....but they've moved too far away from the catchy pop/rock anthems of their earlier stuff with this album. I love the reimagining into "Play that song" and "Valentine" is nice but there is just too much R&B/dance influence for my liking on a lot of the other tracks.
So disappointing. I have seen Train twice...and this isn't what I believe as Train. Where is Jimmy, Scott and the rest? Defected I believe because of the appalling commercial, artistic and financial path taken by 'new Train'. I am a fan and have loved them for years...even touched our pitch perfect Pat (O2 at Birmingham) but I am afraid, as a early Train fan, this is not my scene and I feel I need to wave goodbye to a chapter I loved. Sorry, can't bear it! 😳
I love Train but their albums going downhill since 'Save Me'. I have listened to this album for a week travelling to work and it's just not happening for me. There is not one song that I like all the way through on it. With limited space on the iPod it's very difficult to justify not deleting it.
I love this album. my faves 'play that song' and 'Valentine' is absolutely amazing. I love.
My goodness what has happened to this band, they have lost the plot completely nothing like the earlier rock albums. This is pure pop drivel with no redeeming songs whatsoever. This is what comes of chasing the yankee dollar, all integrity as an artist is thrown out. Sorry you can keep it!
If you liked Bulletproof Picasso then you'll like this. Sadly for the Train fans of old this album continues the slide to mediocrity, venturing ever further away from their roots. Working Girl is the closest they get to that "real" Train sound and You Better Believe also stands out. The less said about Loverman the better.
Great songs, great lyrics, great band 👍
Train are something else! Every album keeps getting better, I hope this album gets the limelight it deserves!! Amazing.
