I Missed the train on my first review my mind was scattered. After situating myself to get immersed in this Jam (Gem) I have to say Simply I'm Blown Away. Songs are beautiful raw and heartfelt. The Soloing well Gary you just outdid yourself My how you've Grown. Packed with the most creative soloing Ive heard in the Blues chains since well you know. Don't let those "Bright Lights" blind you or those award shows. This music will be cherished.

No one plays the Blues in the new Genre like GC Jr.

- Better to Worse

GC Jr.'s earlier stuff is amazing and IF he would have kept going down that path he would have been and amazing modern-day blues artist. He first live CD is an 11 and this new one is a 3. He sounds tired and this reflects in the sound of the music that is recorded. I also don't like how he incorporates "pop" into the blues. To top it off, I don't like the over-studio produced recent CD's he has put out.

- Like Clark, but..

These recordings were not done well. They are far from clean and precise, but muffled and distorted. Gary needs to write new music or do some covers because all of his cd's overlap. If you already have these songs on previous cd's save your money.

- The Magic is Gone

I loved Gary's last live album, but Live NA is a big dissappointment to me. Two songs are repeats from his earlier live album, and frankly are not as well done as the first. The other songs in this album lack the magic and artistry of his previous work.

- how about a new studio album

The first EP was the only good thing he has done. I don't think he has good new material left in him.

A true virtuoso. The Grammys need to have a live album category.

- GC Jr is awesome, this recording is not.

I love Gary Clark Jr, I saw him live opening for the Foo Fighters a couple of years ago and it was incredible, and "The Story Of Sonny Boy Slim" is an excellent album. But if you want to hear him at his best - either go buy "The Story Of Sonny Boy Slim" (which you should have already) or go see him live and in person. Save your money on this, this recording is not good - you can barely hear him or the instrumentals and there's lots of crowd noise - which almost drowns out the recording. These are not things that go together to make a good live album. You can have a live album with amazing production value where you can actually hear the band and not the audience (see Led Zeppelin's "The Song Remains The Same") but this definitely isn't it.
