- Toolroom music isn't as good anymore

I've been a fan of Toolroom records since 2009 and over the years have acquired their Ibiza and Miami annual collections every time they are released. 2017 is the first year I have avoided getting them because no matter how much label boss Mark Knight puts in the effort to promote his label and sign new artists, the quality and consistency of the music has been in decline. Tracks are sounding the same with over used samples, vocal distortions, and boring basslines. These tired sounds dominate the tracks that Toolroom is cranking out and I would guess this is the 'new' sound the label is going for. Not for me. It breaks my heart because I have been hearing how the music has been slowly getting more and more generic. Toolroom once was a powerhouse label for techno and tech house. Now, it's glorified edm elevator music; better suited for background music at a pool party or a cocktail party in the hopes that the conversation drowns out the music. With that being said, I hope that one day Mark brings back the passion and sound that Toolroom once provided. Very dissapointed with Ibiza 2017 (both volumes).

Normally these are great value downloads but not this one. They're just turning out very subpar collections lately.
