- Therapy For My Soul

I’ve had a lot of loss in this season and many transitions as well as critical conversations with the Lord. I feel like Lecrae has experienced the same type of season and poured it into his music. It speaks to my soul and many nights when I couldn’t go to sleep I’d just listen to “8:28”, “Cry For You”, “I’ll Find You” and “Destination” on repeat. Then when I’m up I enjoy songs like “Hammer Time”, “Come and Get Me” and “What Chu Mean” to boss up on. “Lucked Up” and “Always Knew” reminds me of family: my husband and Momma & Grandmothers. This project has meant the most to me out of all of Crae’s album because of his growth and transparency.

I used to listen to Lecrae all the time and still enjoy a listen every now and then. This album is an awesome take on his style and on messages that most artists of his caliber would be afraid to approach. He really puts an emphasis on not just the style and production of his music, but also on what he is writing and what it will mean to different audiences. I would call this not a disappointment to Christian Hip Hop, but the spectacle of a Christian artist sharing his struggles and triumphs. Worth the buy!!
