Danish String Quartet - Last Leaf Reviews
Can’t get enough
I bought this album after seeing these guys in concert. They bring a modern touch to these timeless folk tunes that simply resonates with me. It’s been a long time since I have been so excited about an album/group. I can’t stop listening! BTW they sound even better live. Don’t hesitate to see them live or buy this album! You won’t be disappointed.
Gorgeous and Exhilarating
Went straight to iTunes after hearing the review on NPR. This is a beautiful fusion of a folk and classical quartet. Warning: Some songs may make you dance inadvertently in public if you are listening while you are out and about!
Absolutely stunning! A must have for anyone!
Heard about this on an NPR review and went to check it out. This is by far one of the best albums you could by out there— no matter what your musical preferences. The music is beautiful, fun, exciting and oh so melodic. ‘Shine you no more’ is like an acoustic version of Daft Punks ‘Get Lucky’ but still its own song. While the music is based on old songs, it feels and sounds very modern. This is an exhilarating experience to listen to— I highly recommend the album. This is the first review I’ve written about an album, but the Quartet deserves it. Support them because amazing music and artists like this seems to be getting harder to find.
Relaying NPR Review
I'm thrilled just to buy this album. I don't remember ever buying an album based upon a radio review, but I raced to itunes after hearing this described today. I have now given it to someone I've wanted to buy for for 20 years, and bought it for myself. Check it out.
Making dusty folk tunes modern
The Danish String Quartet has tapped into the past to find music that feels modern and complex, even when it is based on old dance standards and church hymns.
