Elton John - Diamonds (Deluxe) Reviews
Enough already with the BS to make money!
By Philly Bob
Elton, like many other 70-90 artist that can't find their creative skills, keep putting out repeat efforts just to make money on the 30 and younger crowd. If Elton cannot "Create" new music then he should retire and don't come back out until he has something new to offer his fans...especially those of us who actually purchased his first efforts on vinyl. We may be in our 60's but we still have the ability to hear and see crap from a artist who I know can do better.
Another Best Of Collection
Agree with other reviewers, this is the record company/artist fullfilling a contract. They left off some of his best work, Friends and few others. Not worth buying unless you want to hear Elton John for the first time. IMO, if you want to hear the best of Elton John/Bernie Taupen, buy the early music...my favorite is still Madman Across The Water and the first one, Elton John. Their best music!!!
the final Best of...
This is it, this is his whole repertoir. I don't understand why people are complainig.
thank you Elton, fantastic career and memories for people like me. Cheers old Boy
Great collection of timeless hits

So glad he did this and love the remastering on some of my favorites!!
"Diamonds" is no jewel!
By DJ Rick
This is an inferior collection of hits by Sir Elton. The song selection and sound quality is just not there. I have been a fan of Elton's since 1970. This is pure crap. The only definitive collection is Greatest Hits 1970 - 2002. I purchased the english version which includes a bonus disc. The quality, song selection and production far exceed the American and any other hits version. It is the only Greatest hits package that you will ever need. All others are inferior. The following albums have all been overlooked, Jump Up?, Breaking Hearts, and Too Low For Zero. These are some of his finest works. A song on Tumbleweed Connection, Love, is one of his all time best songs, yet it does not ever appear on any hits collection. You would swear that it is Crosy, Still And Nash. Take a listen. You will be greatly surprized. Forget this new collection. What a rip off to the cosumer. I have seen Elton in concert (the original band) and played his songs while in a rock band. I know what I am talking about. Don't be fooled by the money hungry label. Check out the Gr Hits 1970 - 2002 and the song Love. You won't be disappointed. Trust me I know what I am talking about. Diamonds is an inferior product that the consumer needs to be cognizant of. Buyer beware. If Elton endorsed this product, shame on you. Shame on the label for releasig this product.
Great Collection - One Big Omission
A superb collection for any Elton John fan. The remastering has improved audio quality, at least to my non-technical ears. I have ony one complaint: how can you omit "Levon" from such a collection, IMO the greatest EJ song ever.
Of course all these songs are already it but whatever, it’s Elton, of course I bought it; always worth it!?
I am sure to most EJ fans who like all the "popular" songs this would be a classikc, but, however, as a musician & a sound engineer, I am looking for the talent here, & as the old saying goes: "it is what it is." If I were to make up this Diamonds collection, I would trade a lot of the "Post Simple Man " days for songs like "Western ford Gateway" & "Burn Down The Mission" I mean, where is "Mona Lisas & Mad Hatters"? Where is "Talking Old Soldiers"? & so forth.....Now, those are diamonmds!!!!!
Another cd with the same music we already have? Not sure why we get new cd's that just put the same stuff out again, boring.
Irrelevant and worse
