Sweetener is the fourth studio album by American singer Ariana Grande. It was released on August 17, 2018, through Republic Records. The album is the follow-up to her third studio album Dangerous Woman (2016), and features guest appearances from Pharrell Williams, Nicki Minaj and Missy Elliott. The album debuted at number 1 on the US Billboard 200 earning 231,000 album-equivalent units in its first week of which 127,000 were from pure sales, thus becoming Grande's third release to reach the top position in the country and subsequently marking the largest opening week numbers of her career. It also topped several international album charts, including in Australia, Belgium, Canada, Ireland, Italy, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the United Kingdom, earning a gold certification in the latter. The lead single, "No Tears Left to Cry", was released on April 20, 2018, and debuted at number 3 on the US Billboard Hot 100. "The Light Is Coming", featuring Nicki Minaj, was released as a promotional single on June 20, 2018, along with the pre-order of the album. "God Is a Woman" was released as the second single on July 13, 2018, and debuted at number 11, eventually peaking at number 8. The third single, "Breathin", debuted at number 22 following the album release and has since reached number 12. Ariana Grande on Sweetener: "It's definitely more personal. You know, I feel like 'Dangerous Woman' was a grown-up 'My Everything,' and this is a grown-up 'Yours Truly.'"

Sweetener is Ariana Grande’s best album so far. Sweetener is a very dreamy album, just take a listen to the album and you’ll know what I mean by dreamy. The album was produced by Pharrell Williams and I like the new sound that he put into Sweetener. You can recognize Pharrell’s production without knowing he produced it. The music videos for the songs in the album are great and the lyrics are great and sentimental. Many of the songs are about anxiety and PTSD, and it will really help you if you get anxious a lot. Many of the songs also have an R&B feel especially the Pharrell produced ones. These songs would’ve been very popular if they were released in the early 2000’s There’s many more great things I can say about Sweetener, it’s a perfect album and I don’t skip any of the songs on it. Ariana’s vocals are so pure and sharp. You should really listen to it, it’s amazing.

I love the vibe of this album and its very different from her other works and the mass majority of pop. Yes, no tears left to cry, breathin, and god is a woman are all more to the generic, but everything else, NO WAY. Im disappointed with the song god is a woman, being my beliefs are very different as far as that goes, but the other songs are bops. I listen to get well soon a lot. And successful. I think it is really odd how most songs are labeled explicit, even though many of them are not actually.

I used to like these songs, but now I realize they are pretty bad. Weak lyrics, most songs aren’t catchy, same old same old. Ariana did a decent job singing, but the songs just didn’t click. Thank U Next was better. The Light Is Coming is TERRIBLE, and now even more terrible because Onika Minaj is in it.
