Real instruments, no wubs! It doesn’t sound like it was made for radio, thank god. I’ve been a fan since I first heard TTTYG in 2003. They started losing me at SRR. I don’t hate change, I just want to hear Andy play drums, Joe’s and Patrick’s guitars and Pete scream once in a while again. It’s so tiring hearing every single band turn in to an over produced mess.

Mania wasn’t my thing but OH MY GOD THIS IS AMAZING

The first song on the track “lake effect kid” actually sounded like pre-break fall out boy. I really enjoyed that. I hope they continue trying out new music, but I also really enjoy when fall out boy does music like that. I hope they do more of that, too.

I didn’t expect the Lake Effect Kid single to be that good but once I listened to all three of those songs I knew I was thinking the wrong thing. Fall Out Boy will always be legendary for centuries 💜

I absolutely love this EP with all of my heart. I’ve been a Fall Out Boy fan for years and they will always be my favorite band no matter what. The amount of talent and passion behind these songs is incredible and I’m so happy that it exists. These 3 songs make me nostalgic for their past sound, great work guys. I know you’ll keep it up :) ❤️

At least the first song sounds like old Fall Out Boy, Lake Effect Kid. Pretty good! Two points off because the other two songs sound like the techno pop garbage like the last two records. I don’t even know how to classify the newer sound except over produced crap. You see back in the old days, bands had things called instruments, in your face guitar, bass, drums, keyboards, vocals. The last two records were some computer generated glob of noise with Patrick Stump’s beautiful vocals over it. Effectively ruining his art. Last Of The Real Ones was good at least. At least this first song you could hear...gasp...guitars! Holy crap. At least return to the God Save Rock & Roll sound. You guys have people who play instruments, why sell out to the pop crowd who know nothing about real music. Ah, wish it was 12 years ago when Sugar We’re Going Down came out. The soundtrack to my high school years.

When this was being released a year ago I was super excited ! 1 year later, I’m still in love. Same with y’all. 5 years ago, when I first heard you, I was like “oh, cool band.” 3 years after, I found y’all again, and I fell in love. A year after, I burst into tears going to my first concert of y’all. 1 year after, y’all still make my days the best.

I love the sound of the first two songs “Lake Effect Kid” and “City in a Garden” because they sound more like old Fall Out Boy. I like how they are about Chicago and their up bringing. “Super Fade” isn’t really my favourite style though. It is very different than the other songs on the EP.

The new FOB EP 'Lake Effect Kid' is reminiscent to pre-ab/ap Fall Out Boy, but works amazingly and blends great with MA N I A. As FOB bassist, Pete Wentz stated 'It's our love letter to chicago' It is highly anticipated that some of these songs will be played when Fall Out Boy hits Wrigley Field on Sept.8th. In conclusion 'lake effect kid' is a bomb EP and i reccomend giving it a listen. (i don't know where this review went, it started good and then i had a brainfart

FOB 3 track EP is a love note to Chicago, Lake Effect Kid takes them back to their roots with Joe’s ringing guitars and Patrick’s fill in the spaces vocals. City in A Garden very similar to Patrick’s solo work. Super Fade is fantastic but just needs a tune up - I’d love to see someone cover this song. It’s full of horns, e-synth and strings and would make a great James Bond theme. It just loses the plot in the middle - I reckon the boys could really tighten this up and make it a super hit. Eg: great lyrics like “that’ll never happen again until tonight” answered by “I’m so sorry” - cool stuff.
