Pure Heroine is the debut studio album by New Zealand singer-songwriter Lorde, released on 27 September 2013 by Universal Music Group. An extended version of the album was released on 13 December 2013. Lorde collaborated with producer Joel Little and began planning the project in 2012. After releasing her first extended play (EP) The Love Club EP and its lead single "Royals" in 2013, they continued writing and producing material. Pure Heroine is a pop album built around minimal production, deep bass and programmed beats. Lyrically, the album discusses youth and critiques of mainstream culture. Pure Heroine received generally favorable reviews from music critics, who commended its songwriting and production, praise was additionally placed on Lorde's vocal ability. The record debuted at number one on the Official New Zealand Music Chart and the Australian ARIA Charts. Pure Heroine performed strongly on national record charts internationally, reaching number three on the U.S. Billboard 200 and charting within the top-ten in eight additional countries. Pure Heroine was nominated for Best Pop Vocal Album at the 56th Annual Grammy Awards. The album was also noted for its impact on present-day pop music and its challenge on modern-day artists.

Probably one of the most genius artists in my time. Lordeโ€™s debut album PURE HEROINE brings so much to the table in terms of the fact that itโ€™s 2020 and this album came out in 2013 and Iโ€™m still raving through it, Thatโ€™s right seven years of pure jam to an album full of so much emotion from songs like the warrior eco toned โ€œGlory and Goreโ€ to the cool chilled tone of โ€œBuzzcut Seasonโ€ and my favorite, the slow yet upbeat sound like never before heard of โ€œRibsโ€ followed by the award winning heart capturing pure genius track โ€œRoyalsโ€. The pace of this album is incredible as it simply opens with track one โ€œTennis Courtโ€ saying โ€œdonโ€™t you think that itโ€™s boring how people talkโ€ and ending with the clever tenth track โ€œA World Aloneโ€ concluding the album with the lyrics โ€œLet em talkโ€.

I am a HUGE Billie Eilish fan, and I was reading the reviews on her album โ€œdonโ€™t smile at meโ€ and I saw Lorde, and I decided Iโ€™d listen and omg... I love this album. I remover the song royals and I love it. Lorde deserves more recognition. Luv it!!

Revisiting this masterpiece while patiently waiting for L3. This debut is perfectly crafted and is as epic as it was 8 years ago. Melodrama was an incredible step forward, and I can't wait to see where Lorde takes her music next. "A World Alone" is an underrated highlight!
