Kanye West - Yeezus

About Yeezus by Kanye West Album

Yeezus is the sixth solo studio album by American hip-hop recording artist and producer Kanye West. It was released June 18, 2013, by Def Jam Recordings. The album follows his maximalist 2010 effort My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. The album was primarily recorded in Paris, with West enlisting various artists and close collaborators for work and production on the album. West enlisted the help of producer Rick Rubin a mere week shy of its release to strip down the record's sound in favor of a more minimalist approach. Musically, "Yeezus" is darker and sonically experimental, combining elements of Chicago drill, dancehall, acid house, and industrial music. Promotion of "Yeezus" included worldwide video projections of the music and live television performances. The album received rave reviews from music critics upon its release.

- An Absolute Masterpiece

This album will take you on an emotional and spiritual roller coaster that will change your perspective on what music truly means

- ALBUM OF THE CENTURY

Too many people hating. Stick to your whack ass mumble rap and let the real ones enjoy this

- ALL KILLER NO FILLER

Where do I even start. Yeezus is futuristic, confident, political, and so much more. The Physical copy is great as well. No mater how many times I listen to it, I never grow tired of the songs.

- Best album

Amazing album

- Yeezy Season Approaching

This album is still fire and the influence it’s had on the music to this day is still impeccable.

- Kanye’s best album next to Pablo as of August 7th 2021

Artistic liberation. Disruption. Primal nuance. Palette juxtaposition. Subversion. Surrealism. Innovation. A sonic timepiece.

- The Weekend crossover with Old School Kanye

The majority of this these tracks has elements of synth wave mixed with Kanye and results at best... awkward. However to Kanye credit the beat for On Sight and Blood on Leaves is not bad but could have been better. The lyrics though-out the whole album is wrack in the same sense like rapper, “Slick Rick” when he was in prison and making rap albums for the sake making money but no favor. Very bland!!! I gave one star for attempt and another star because it is Kanye aka Blanya!

- RIP Kanye’s career

This album is as bad as Infant Sorrow’s African Child song

- GOAT

Kanye saved my life.

- Goat

This is my fav ye album besides mbdtf

- I Like It.

Ive lived with this album for about a good 4 years now, and really after repeat listens my opinion hasn’t changed on it. I find myself quoting lines frequently, not because theyre food but just how ridiculous they are. There isnt really a whole lot of substance here compared to Kanye’s other albums, and most who say there is seem to be really overblowing it. It was stated by some of his co-producers that the lyrics were like a last minute addition and it really shows. The backdrop of instrumentation is good as well, but maybe its just not for me. It’s good, but I cant give it a great rating.

- Best album ever , BUT WE NEED DONDA

.

- I think you ment

Jesus, cuz that’s who you need.

- Fear

Im personally scared of this album, it was pretty good but im just scared of it for some reason

- Excrement

Horrible lyrics, even worse composition, sub-par production! Nails on a chalkboard sounds better that this crap! Kanye hasn’t done anything worth while since 2005!

- “First the like you, make them unlike you”

Definitely more abrasive yet somehow feels lacking. A small case of an artist trying new things but probably just needs a little more time in the production phase. Definitely fits in your gym playlist, with “Bound 2” serving as a nice, silly cool down jam.

- bound 2222

bound 2 is sickkkk but hes a disgusting person but still a sick song

- People don’t know music

Kanye is on of the greatest artist of our generation🔥

- his best album to date

that’s it, that’s the review

- Hi

It ok

- 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Best album ever!

- Timeless masterpiece

One of the most creatively produced albums produced. I know for a fact it was way ahead of its time when it was released since it didn’t receive the love that it should’ve.

- Amazing features

God was by far the best feature on this album

- Yeezus isn’t Terrible.

The lyrics are face-palming at times. Lyrically this is Kanye’s worst album, but there are some great moments on here that are overlooked. The 10-second sample in “On Sight”, the outro to “New Slaves”, and a handful of great tracks like Black Skinhead, Bound 2, I Am A God, Hold My Liquor, Guilt Trip, and especially Blood On The Leaves. “Send It Up” and “I’m In It” were tracks that had nothing really special about them. Other than that, the album will definitely grow on you! 3/5 (mainly because of “I’m In It” and “Send it Up”)

- GREATEST ALBUM

If you GIVE THIS ALBUM A 1 U ARE CRZY #2020VISION

- GOAT

No other words needed

- Best

So good

- Nothing Beats Yeezus

If this rubbed you the wrong way, then you just need to spend more time with this record. From the unbelievable sound all its own to the hero’s journey traversed over these 10 perfect tracks…Yeezus is the pinnacle of modern music. There is no one better than Kanye West and there is no better Kanye West record than Yeezus (though MBDTF comes close).

- Revolutionary

Amazing and revolutionary. Every album Kanye pushes the boundaries and offers something unique. This album leaves you feeling elevated and powerful.

- CLEAN VERSION PLZ!!!!

🔥

- Help me

Helppppp

- Gods Gift To Earth

This album is one of Kanye’s most innovative and genre bending albums ever curated .

- Not his best

If you think this is his best you stoopid

- Not it

Was not a fan of this at all

- Classic

It grows overtime.. in the beginning youll most likely dislike it, as you listen and life beats you down youll Love it.. soundtrack to the struggle

- Amazing

Best album ever

- Instant Classic

Kanye continues to bend and merge genres, clearly apparent here with his techno/electronic beats that perfectly accentuate his bars.

- A Masterpiece

Either you give this album five stars or you’re wrong. New Slaves is one of the best songs of the 21st century.

- Masterpiece.

100% one of the greatest albums of all time.

- This is awesome

This is the album ever

- THE GREATEST ALBUM OF ALL TIME

The sounds on this record is bombastic. Explosive. Insane. This record is a thrill ride, and one you’ll remember forever

- Fyaahhhhh

🔥🔥🔥

- Ahead of its time

^

- It’ll grow on you.

To the foreign ear, the music is very harsh and aggressive, although that’s what the album is, you start to like the songs overtime. It’s a done deal once you start to like “On Sight”

- 👎

Songs and “fashions” are not at all good can’t believe people like this guy

- Wonderfulness

Man. Truly ahead of its time. Fantastic record. Way underrated. Not my favorite Kanye album. But when talking about his discography it’s hard to compete for his best. But it’s so good golly. Too hated on. Really brilliant piece of work.

- masterpiece

😩

- Garbage

Garbage music.

- What. ?

There are obviously idiots out there. What a load of crap. My kids pressing buttons randomly on a program can do better than this. It’s a pity how music has changed.

- Yeez is us

One of the greatest albums I’ve ever heard.

- An experiential masterpiece

Kanye had put so many ideas into this album Rick Rubin had to ‘reduce’ it to give it a clear direction. An album telling the story of Yeezus with sounds too progressive for the people in 2013. Now it is seen as a masterpiece.

- best Kanye album

This album is genius, 10/10 not a single song doesn’t hit. 100 years this album will be his highlight.

- Best album last 10 years

Yeezus Wiki

Yeezus is the sixth studio album by the American rapper and producer Kanye West. It was released on June 18, 2013, through Def Jam Recordings and Roc-A-Fella Records. West gathered a number of artists and close collaborators for the production, including Mike Dean, Daft Punk, Noah Goldstein, Arca, Hudson Mohawke, and Travis Scott. The album also features guest vocals from Justin Vernon, Chief Keef, Kid Cudi, Assassin, King L, Charlie Wilson, and Frank Ocean. Fifteen days before its release date, West enlisted the help of producer Rick Rubin to strip down the sound of Yeezus in favor of a more minimalist approach. The album has been characterized as West's most experimental and sonically abrasive work. It draws from an array of genres, including industrial, acid house, electro, punk, and Chicago drill. West's unconventional use of samples is also present, as on "Blood on the Leaves", which contains a sample from Nina Simone's 1965 rendition of "Strange Fruit". The physical CD edition was released in a clear jewel box with only a strip of red tape and sample credits. Initial promotion included worldwide video projections of the music and live television performances. West released two singles from the album; "Black Skinhead" in July 2013 and "Bound 2" the following month. The release of Yeezus coincided with that of rapper J. Cole's album Born Sinner, which was moved back a week to coincide with Yeezus' release, leading to speculation about which release would sell more copies. Yeezus received widespread acclaim from critics, many of whom named it among West's best work and commended its brash direction, though public response was divided. The album was nominated for Best Rap Album at the 2014 Grammy Awards. The album debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200, selling 327,000 copies in the first week of release, while also topping the charts in Australia, Canada, Denmark, New Zealand, Russia and the United Kingdom. It has since been certified double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), and was named by several publications as one of the best albums of the 2010s, including Rolling Stone, who later included it at 269 on its 2020 list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
