Taylor Swift - 1989

About 1989 by Taylor Swift Album

1989 is the fifth studio album by American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift, released on October 27, 2014, through Big Machine Records. After music critics questioned her status as a country musician following her pop and electronic-influenced fourth studio album Red, Swift was inspired by 1980s synth-pop to recalibrate her artistry from country to pop music. On 1989, titled after her birth year to signify her symbolic artistic rebirth, Swift enlisted Max Martin as co-executive producer. The album's synth-pop sound is characterized by heavy synthesizers, programmed drums and processed backing vocals. The songs, expanding on Swift's songwriting practice taking inspiration from her personal life, express lighthearted perspectives towards failed relationships, departing from her previous hostile attitude. Swift and Big Machine promoted the album extensively through product endorsements, television, radio appearances and social media. They pulled 1989 from free streaming services such as Spotify, prompting an industry discourse on the impact of streaming on music sales. After the album's release, Swift embarked on the 1989 World Tour, which was the highest-grossing tour of 2015. The album was supported by seven singles, including three US Billboard Hot 100 number ones: "Shake It Off", "Blank Space" and "Bad Blood". Critics generally praised 1989 for its emotion and melodies, but a few were concerned over the synth-pop production, as they felt it eroded Swift's authenticity as a songwriter due to pop music's capitalist nature—a criticism that has been retrospectively described as rockist. Various publications listed 1989 as one of the best albums of the 2010s decade, with Rolling Stone and Consequence ranking it amongst the best of all time. At the 58th Grammy Awards in 2016, 1989 won Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album, making Swift the first female solo artist to win Album of the Year twice. Retrospective commentaries regard 1989 as a key success in transforming Swift's image to that of a pop icon, promoting poptimism, but also highlighted how her artistic integrity and public image suffered from increasing media scrutiny.

- ✌🏽

I adore her music because she doesn’t always swear all the time and her music is kinda catchy!, but I don’t think this is worthy to buy in my opinion!, it’s just that her music is out of date because it was 7 or 8 years ago and I’m not trying to be mean or anything but other then that I think it’s great!.😁

- Wow

Only thing I can say is wow 🤩🤩🤩

- Eh, could do better

Taylor isn’t the greatest artists, but the song I do enjoy is Bad Blood. That one is good, but other than that, I enjoy the good stuff.

- Queen of pop

She kinda ate ngl

- Wow Times Ωf Taylor’s Favorite Numbers

At the time And it still is One of the most dramatic And one of the most if not completely The smoothest transitions from an artist Who already Emotionally Has no boundaries To move totally from the Red age To the 1989 eon Just because she said in the super cool interview style clips interspersed between performances of her works ladies and gentlemen She never ever wanted to forget this tour I think my favorite was that part of the tour where Taylor was somewhere on the Earth And “The Way” singers face reacting to when Taylor didn’t jump off of something taller than her I hope I always remember that sophisticatedly well presented spontaneous change of plans Which Nevermind, I don’t want to present any assumptions here because it was one of my favorite moments and I don’t want to risk changing it Anyway When I bought this pre-deluxe version In person I remember In mid October At Walmart the night it came out I wish I knew there was a Deluxe Version So shortly after I’m at the Walmart I head over to the Target in the same town And got the deluxe version Which effectively was super fun because I got double polaroids I had a Honda Civic 2003 at the time A reliable vehicle, in any Never mind, I almost exited Taylor universe Ok I was I played that CD in my little car As a tall person So much And really loudly too Yeah ( almost every time I’m really thinking about Taylor and I Remember she said yeah in her first album I call it the “Taylor Swift Taylor Swift” album And this is a direct quotify “…Yeah” ( I’m only me when I’m with you ) And for some odd reason when I mention that Song Title I imagine it being happily read from the guy behind the unit supervisor’s desk off a piece of paper with no expression but so much underneath in Brooklyn Nine Nine Ok ) As my teacher sibling and I sometimes say “Too long, Oolong” based off the vibe of another friend we actually know in person or something What’s amazing is that even 7+ years later Blank Space spent a really good amount of time topping the intercharts of Taylor’s songs At least on Apple Music What’s really pretty right now is that at the time of me writing this review Past overdue From some Avenue Is that somehow the light is shining through An opaque window And reflecting off some metal Of one of the corners of one of the walls I’ll probably refrain from explaining that one Never mind, I think I’ll try It’s the kind of convex corner that is pointing in the opposite direction of the side of the room it is part of Hm… Ok Mmm… Oh yeah! The voice memo’s in 2014 eran-Taylor spoken-word-and-thoughtful-fashion Have always been fun to listen to Especially before I knew who Jack Antonoff was I was a little Jealous of Jack I wasn’t jealous of Wait I know the guy from One Republic was involved on 1989 I just don’t quite Oh yeah! Ryan Tedder As in “Check out these cool guitar sounds …can I have that?”… ( She had the whole finished song in her head vibe if remember that from the voice memo ) Ok When I first got the album, I was two full years into songwriting myself, but not with actual words yet I don’t know why I felt like sharing that but because it’s loosely related Hm… Oh yeah! I was going to say track 7 with that energy was my favorite off the album See, when I was growing up, I was always the hidden girl inside listening to the entire album of any CD I was listening to Anyway… ( I’m trying to mend that word’s vibe in my mind ) All to say… 1989 was definitely a vibe And listening to it nearly once through a day for possibly an entire year ( Thanks Grammy etcetera people, it definitely deserves the awards that it won ) I think that the 3000 minus a thousand and eleven Do the math Was definitely one of the most formative slow motion moments in the life of Taylor It’s like, she already has been going through it on usually probably, likely, Daily basis before she was fifteen etcetera And then all the Red Era stuff happened Then 1989 stuff happened preceding the future It’s a lot I barely want to recall it all Because it’s morning now And 2018 - 2019 Taylor tells Taylor 2013-2017 That everything’s ok I almost crying Now I’m shedding a slow tear Makes me feel like Thursday night nine pm in California May 6th 2011 at a theatre near you if you’re in California with Odin shedding a tear while asleep Anyway I am so so so so glad that Taylor got to work with Imogen Heap for “Clean” I love the perceived vibe from if I could imagine how focused the crop circles in the carpet singer Is while working on the song What I love is that she really put her heart into it It had not a hint of that it was a job or a favor It was pure emotion in one of the most respectfully, in a heartfelt contribution with a much vibes yet from the background I just love the sounds If I am correct to guess The cool finger piano that feels like your breaking it while you’re playing it like it would make your femanicure uncomfortable action to generate a tone type of interaction The intro to “Clean” … The Bad Blood music video brings back too many memories for me, it feels like a frozen blueberry stained dress in my case But the line P.O.V ( or P.O.D, mm, must be P.O.V. ) Is one of my favorite ad libs Probably from Kendrick Lamar or somebody I remember Kendrick Lamar was one of the artists who performed with Taylor on stage somewhere on the Earth That’s cool I just love in my memory how she expressed how it felt like one of those forever type of hugs Amazing I’m so glad that Taylor had that super thoughtful idea of a focused yet open invite to some of the most amazing pop artists etcetera of the time to perform with her on stage Anyway I got to bed late last night, I’m planning on having breakfast soon I’m going to take a nap before breakfast If you got this far thank you so much for reading my review I hope you had as much or more fun reading it than I did writing it, hopefully not too many worlds away I can’t take it in ( that’s an Imogen Heap x Chronicles of Narnia refer

- One of her best

Although not unheard of for country singers to make the leap to pop music, it’s important to acknowledge that not many artists in music today can make a seamless transition from one genre to another. Some of Taylor’s albums released prior to 1989 (e.g. Fearless, Speak Now, and Red) could have been labeled as country-pop albums due to their influences from both country and pop artists; nevertheless, on her fifth album, titled after her birth year and released exactly eight years after her self-titled debut, the trailblazing country icon officially made the dramatic shift to pop music with style (pun intended). I love every single one of Taylor’s albums so it is very hard for me to say which one is my favorite, but 1989 would definitely be in my top three. I love every song on this album; my favorites are Out of the Woods, Wildest Dreams, and Clean. Highly recommend this album for those of you who have not listened to it already!

- ITS ME…—

Taylor swift.. you may be out of style because we have all your songs memorized but always know you’re a masterpiece. A work of ART. Literally all your music videos have beautiful messages to them. I wouldn’t personally say you’re overrated but you are over the moon. Your music is beautiful. Sure, when people put on your music I’m like UGHH TURN THIS OFF but that’s cause I’ve memorized lots of your songs (I guess Doja is my style now that I kinda got with the times and realized nobody is a Swift anymore) <3 love you 4ever Taylor.

- Taylor Swift

There’s a video on YouTube where a police officer is dancing to Shake It Off. I LOVE watching it, it puts a smile on my face

- I’m gonna get BOMBED for saying this…

I think Taylor Swift is overrated. After hearing “Shake it Off” 72 times a week, I cringe when hearing her. It seems like whenever she releases something, people think it’s GOLD. She is the most overrated person I’ve ever known! Take my word, this album is terrible! If I could rate this no stars I would, but iTunes won’t let me. It’s so stale, fake, and boring. Just don’t buy anything she puts out.

- Woah

Ok now this is called a good album!! I love it I’ve listened to it many times #westandwithtaylor

- DON’T BUY THIS!!!

People are saying that scooter Braun took Taylor’s album and if u buy it ur giving the money to him? So I googled it and ITS TRUE!!! They also said Taylor is very frustrated with him and called him a “bully”. Poor Taylor. She worked SO hard on making this AMAZING album and now SCOOTER (which is such a bad name) IS TAKING ALL THIS FROM HER! I’m giving it 5 stars cuz Taylor’s songs are awesome! So anyway, if u want to listen to Taylor, listen to her NEW album where SOME PEOPLE (*cough* scooter) don’t take her music. So, I hope u read this. Thx if u did, and be careful with who you trust. You never know when they might decide to take something from u……anyway, peace ✌🏾 (PS. If u are a Christian, than never use this peace sign ☮️. If u look at it closely, it’s a broken cross 😮. So never use it if ur a Christian. Then bye!)

- Respect her!!

She did a very hard work RESPECT her, you should love her songs that she did PLEASE RESPECT her I love it you should love it too!!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 I’m trying to be nice you should too!!!

- Love it Taylor but Don’t buy this album

Scooter is a stupid idiotic person and stole Taylor's songs, freak u scooter no one likes a dirty, no good, lazy, rotten little brat that steals other peoples work that u didn't even help with. And anyone that likes u and how u stole Taylors songs is a dirty little idiotic person that doesn't have a life. Speaking of not having a life u should give Taylors music back and go to the dollar store and get a life and be thankful u even have one. Shame on u scooter, booooooooooooooooooooooo. You'll regret messing with Taylor i hope she sues u and u lose all ur money wasting it on ur life. But anyways gooooooooo Taylor.

1989 Wiki

1989 (MCMLXXXIX) was a common year starting on Sunday of the Gregorian calendar, the 1989th year of the Common Era (CE) and Anno Domini (AD) designations, the 989th year of the 2nd millennium, the 89th year of the 20th century, and the 10th and last year of the 1980s decade. 1989 was a turning point in political history with the "Revolutions of 1989" which ended communism in Eastern Bloc of Europe, starting in Poland and Hungary, with experiments in power-sharing coming to a head with the opening of the Berlin Wall in November, the Velvet Revolution in Czechoslovakia and the overthrow of the communist dictatorship in Romania in December; the movement ended in December 1991 with the dissolution of the Soviet Union. Revolutions against communist governments in Eastern Europe mainly succeeded, but the year also saw the suppression by the Chinese government of the 1989 Tiananmen Square protests in Beijing. It was the year of the first Brazilian direct presidential election in 29 years, since the end of the military government in 1985 that ruled the country for more than twenty years, and marked the redemocratization process's final point. F. W. de Klerk was elected as State President of South Africa, and his regime gradually dismantled the apartheid system over the next five years, culminating with the 1994 election that brought jailed African National Congress leader Nelson Mandela to power. The first commercial Internet service providers surfaced in this year, as well as the first written proposal for the World Wide Web and New Zealand, Japan and Australia's first Internet connections. The first babies born after preimplantation genetic diagnosis were conceived in late 1989.
