He has some unusual songs that are not typical AW songs but with so much material I think he’s allowed that if you choose to BUY the whole album. This man right here knows how to sing some country music. Good tunes you can roll down the highways too and get you fired up. Songs that pay tribute to past loves ones and people who influenced your life. And most importantly great slow love songs you can slow dance too in the kitchen with the one you love. Keep it up!

Wow! Wow! Wow! I love this album. So powerful. Just reaches my soul and hits deep in the heart. I saw Aaron YEARS ago in a bar in California “Angels and Outlaws” and “Wrangler Butts”. Fell in love with him then and still love him. My other favorite “ The Underdog” my song to our babies.

Huge AW fan but feel like he’s trying way too hard. Found myself more disappointed after every song. Production sounds weird, almost like most songs belong in a Disney movie. Doesn’t sound like the honky tonk kid anymore

"Country Radio" is my favorite track!! My husband and I are living room dancers too :) and the memories of my little girls cutting in and dancing with their daddy flood me when I hear it!! Is this the same Aaron Watson you’ve been listening to for the last 20? Yes...it’s him. Only this time he set loftier goals for this album, and brought us something fresh and impressive. Quite a feat on the heels of Underdog and Vaquero which set a very high bar. If you are one who expects nothing but tailgates, girls dancing on them, and drinking in every song, you may have to listen to this album more than once to hear what Watson is doing. Songs like Country Radio, Riding With Red, and Am I Amarillo seem like vintage style Aaron Watson. Dark Horse with its surprising beat, cannot help but pump up and inspire those who may feel they are facing a stacked deck. Then there are the songs that seem more introspective... Trying Like the Devil, To Be the Moon, and Live or Die Trying. This is an ambitious album, with more layered musical arrangements and more thought provoking lyrics. I thoroughly enjoy it.

This is an amazing album! I’ve been listening to it non stop for the past few days and I couldn’t be more impressed. I definitely think this is his best album yet. It is my go-to country. These songs are going to be absolutely amazing in live concert. I can’t wait to see what else he has in store!

Great album because you dared to push to the next level. Thank you for the Ghost of Guy Clark. Every artist today struggles with the market vs soul conflict. This tune speaks to me.

A major step backwards for Watson. His brand of country music is quickly becoming one and the same with Nashville. There’s some really quality songs like Red on here, but there’s way too much talking on this album. You got a great voice sing it.

- Stop talking in songs

I love Aaron. He’s always been my favorite artist out of every genre, but he talks WAY too much in the songs on this album. Sing the WHOLE song, don’t try to be Sam Hunt and “talk sing” lyrics. I like the songs ok but they would definitely be better if he actually sang them. I was so excited about this new album but was not impressed.

You can hear the passion and time that went into this work. Amazing they don’t make them like this anymore. For those of you who think his sound has changed, an artist has to grow with every album or they get labeled repetitive. This is fresh sounding country music at its finest perfect blend of emotions along with sounds of past and present. Well done.

Really not impressed with this album. Nothing stands out to me; it honestly hit me kind of boring. His last two albums were absolutely remarkable but, this is just OK. Maybe next time, Aaron! Still a fan regardless.
