Lindsey has inspired me to play violin, so I went to a church to ask if I could, AND THEY ACCEPTED!! I told them how much I absolutely love Lindsey, and I’m here to say that Lindsey, DONT let anyone bring you down. You’re the BEST VIOLIN PLAYER I’VE EVER HEARD IN 4 YEARS! Don’t listen to that insane crazy person who says every album is the same. The truth is that each album has it’s own theme and message and I think the theme of Artemis is don’t forget the past. I just saw Lindsey in concert last week for the Artemis tour and was blown away for the 1800 time. She never stops getting better and each album will always be better than the last! - A Familiar Sound, But So Much More

"Artemis" is Lindsey Stirling's 5th Studio album, hot on the trails of her last debuts, "Brave Enough" and "Warmer in the Winter" (a holiday-themed collection). The underlying story incorporates fantasy and sci-fi, with literal focus on the Greek Goddess, Artemis. These elements can be heard, but especially seen in her Music Video releases from this album. It's like if you mashed up "Ghost in the Shell", "Alita: Battle Angel", and the Greek Mythos. And frankly, it deserves a film based on concept alone. As many will note, Lindsey's album "Artemis" recalls elements from her early YouTube days. It's hard to describe exactly how, other than "the vibe", but no one is complaining. Many tracks on "Artemis" have that early sound, likely due to less gritty dubstep elements, instead favoring cleaner electronic beats and crisp, energetic violin melodies. Each track has it's own unique flavor, whether it's the Hans Zimmer-esque "Underground", to "The Upside" - which hearkens back to one of Lindsey's first hits, "Electric Daisy Violin". Amy Lee's vocals are lended to "Love Goes On and On", and is beautifully haunting. "Masquerade" is a playful yet mysterious song reminiscient of its very namesake. And "Guardian" may just be the next empowering anthem you were looking for. Needless to say, Lindsey pours her heart and soul into her music. She always has, but something about "Artemis" takes it to new, inspiring heights.

I was always a fan of her work since seeing a couple of her videos. I enjoyed her albums, but I could see, and feel changes. I dismissed this album after a quick listen, and seeing the video. Now, a couple years later, I appreciate this work as much, if not more than her previous work. She has learned, and changed, and I feel improved. Thanks Lindsey. Praise God! I feel with this album, Lindsey is back to her core. The duets don’t overpower her violin playing as they did with her previous album. I found myself toe tapping to several of the songs.

I always love how Lindsey always keeps her albums thematic and tells stories through her music. With Artemis, she really went for a more a thematic, and cinematic-esque sound that really tells the story of her version of Artemis. With her modern take on the Greek Goddess, Lindsey goes back to her electronic roots. Though there are less vocal tracks this time around, they are superb and really add to the album and its message (plus Amy Lee is wonderful! “Love Goes On and On” is one of my favorites). The album is very cohesive and goes through all sorts of emotions, so you are really in for a ride. Bringing a cleaner and more updated sound to her melodic and playful style, Lindsey brings a wonderful 4th album of original music, and a nice 5th album overall.

Just when you think Lindsey can’t get any better, she always manages to knock you away with her outstanding creativity and passionate, unique craft in music! In ancient Greek religion and mythology, Artemis (; Greek: Ἄρτεμις) is the goddess of the hunt, the wilderness, wild animals, nature, vegetation, childbirth, care of children, and chastity. In later times, she was identified with Selene, the personification of the Moon. She was often said to roam the forests and mountains, attended by her entourage of nymphs. The goddess Diana is her Roman equivalent. In Greek tradition, Artemis is the daughter of Zeus and Leto, and the twin sister of Apollo. In most accounts, the twins are the products of an extramarital liaison. For this, Zeus' wife Hera forbade Leto from giving birth anywhere on land. Only the island of Delos gave refuge to Leto, allowing her to give birth to her children. In most accounts, Artemis is born first and then proceeds to assist Leto in the birth of the second twin, Apollo. Artemis was a kourotrophic (child-nurturing) deity, that is the patron and protector of young children, especially young girls. Artemis was worshipped as one of the primary goddesses of childbirth and midwifery along with Eileithyia and Hera. Artemis was also a patron of healing and disease, particularly among women and children, and believed to send both good health and illness upon women and children. Artemis was one of the three major virgin goddesses alongside Athena and Hestia. Artemis preferred to remain an unmarried maiden and was one of the three Greek goddesses over whom Aphrodite had no power. In myth and literature, Artemis is presented as a hunting goddess of the woods, surrounded by her chaste band of nymphs. In the myth of Actaeon, when the young hunter sees her bathing naked, he is transformed into a deer by the angered goddess and is then devoured by his own hunting dogs, who do not recognize their master. In the story of Callisto, the girl is driven away from Artemis' company after breaking her vow of virginity, having lain with and been impregnated by Zeus. In the Epic tradition, Artemis halted the winds blowing the Greek ships during the Trojan War, stranding the Greek fleet in Aulis, after King Agamemnon, the leader of the expedition, shot and killed her sacred deer. Artemis demanded the sacrifice of Iphigenia, Agamemnon's young daughter, as compensation for her slain deer. In most versions, when Iphigenia is led to the altar to be offered as a sacrifice, Artemis pities her and takes her away, leaving a deer in her place. In the war that followed, Artemis supported the Trojans against the Greeks, and challenged Hera into battle. Artemis was one of the most widely venerated of the Ancient Greek deities; her worship spread throughout ancient Greece, with her multiple temples, altars, shrines, and local veneration found everywhere in the ancient world. Her great temple at Ephesus was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, before it was burnt to the ground. Artemis' symbols included a bow and arrow, a quiver, and hunting knives, and the deer and the cypress were sacred to her. Diana, her Roman equivalent, was especially worshipped on the Aventine Hill in Rome, near Lake Nemi in the Alban Hills, and in Campania.
