K-12 is the second studio album by American singer-songwriter Melanie Martinez. It leaked on the internet on September 1, 2019 and was officially released on September 6, 2019 alongside an hour and a half long film with the same name. The album is set in Cry Baby's school and is told from her perspective. Best album ever!! 💗💕. I usually don’t write reviews because I’m lazy but this album is seriously the best thing I’ve ever heard in my life! I’ve been listening to Melanie for about 2 years now and her music has always given me purpose! This album has got to be her best though! I love how each and every song has a story! The music sounds great and it’s really relatable. She’s my favorite and always will be! Love you so much Melanie! Can’t wait too see where you go next! 💕 I really recommend buying!

YESSSS. Finally! Melanie is back! Because seriously, other than her, what happened to good music? My favorite is High School Sweethearts. But I think it would be really funny if there was a video of school principals reacting to The Principal. That one’s really good! But, Mel, language!!!!! And that was a very random review!😂

sure. I like the messages that are being conveyed throughout the album, but songs such as show and tell feel repetitive- I mean I really like that song but it just feels like there could be something added that would spice up the song and make it less repetitive. All in all a great album.

K-12. This review is based only on the album, not the film. (This is not in a fav to least fav order) Wheels On The Bus: I loved the Pre-Chorus and verses, my favorite track. 5 Stars Drama Club: Loved the chorus, maybe not the instrumental, but I liked this one. 5 Stars High School Sweethearts: Not my fav, but definitely good. I liked the chorus, especially the music in the chorus. 5 Stars Show & Tell: This one wasn’t the best for me, but I liked it for the most part. Just the second time she sang the Pre-Chorus it sounded a bit weird. Also, it and Nurse’s Office sounded a bit similar. 4 Stars Nurse’s Office: As mentioned, sounds similar to Show & Tell, although I prefer this one more than Show & Tell. Liked the Chorus and Verses, overall it’s pretty good. 4 Stars Recess: I liked the Chorus, and the “Just remember-er” part was for some reason satisfying to me. 3 3/4 Stars Orange Juice: I liked Orange Juice, mostly the verses and Pre-Chorus. Maybe the “eeh-ahh-eeh-ahh” part took this down a bit. 3 3/4 Stars Strawberry Shortcake: I really like this, just I thought a couple songs were better. I’m not sure why this wasn’t higher for me. 3 3/4 Stars The Principal: Another one i’m not sure about. I liked the Chorus for the most part. 3 3/4 Teachers Pet: Not my fav, but I liked the sort of dark sound to it, and the Pre-Chorus. 3 Stars Class Fight: I liked the beat and the sorta Pre-Chorus (Mommy why do I feel bad?), but “Daddy chimed in, go for the throat” was repeated too many times. Plus the verses weren’t my fav. 2 1/2 Stars Detention: Liked the Pre-Chorus and the verses, but the Chorus was meh. Otherwise I don’t know why this was ranked this low :/ 2 1/2 Stars Lunchbox Friends: I didn’t like the deep voice in the Chorus, the verses were a bit boring, and the Pre-Chorus was meh. I thought this one was a definite flop. 1 Star Also, i’d like to say that 5 Stars doesn’t mean it’s like, my favorite song. The ratings were based on the style of the album and overall sound. I definitely liked Cry Baby more, but I still think K-12 was pretty good. There were a few tracks I didn’t like as much, but there definitely were some pretty good ones.

look.. i think this is a great album, but it certainly isn't for everyone. the songs themselves do sound quite similar to one another so it's likely that if you don't like more than two or three songs on here, you're not gonna like the album. also, the fact that melanie waited over 3 years to release new music really brings down the quality considering how long it took, and many fans have left in search of artists with more music in general. however, i personally love the album. the movie was decent, definitely not the best but i adore the creativity and the effort that went into the album and movie.

AMAZING MEL has done it again!❤️. I’ve been waiting for this for a while and it’s FINALLY out!!! I love all your songs 1.Nurses Offices 🏥 Has a great feeling and has coughing and people ripping bandaids in the background VERY CREATIVE 2. Show & tell🗣 Gives a nice vibe I love the music and lyrics 3. High school sweethearts💝 I had to grow on this one because of how long the song was and I judged it by it’s time but it’s sooooo good one of my top 10 now 4. Wheels on the bus🚍 I agree with everyone this definitely gives me “training wheel vibes “ and I love how relatable this song rlly is 5. Strawberry shortcake 🍰 This song is THE most important because of its message I thought it was a bad song but it’d actually positive and it’s something some people goes through so you need to say something 6. Orange juice 🍊 Omg so good really chill but is constantly on repeat love the deep voice it fits really well and the message is beautiful if someone has bulimia thx you! 7. Lunchbox friends🍱👭 Soooooo relatable because it’s about true friendships and fake . One day they’ll be your friend the next day there your enemy this happens a lot at school 8. The principal ☎️ Really good song ! I feel like this is about trump lol but I love how she’s standing up for herself and other people 9.class fight 🔪 It’s really catchy not gonna lie I love the storyline and the background effects for ex : till I broke her (cracks) 10. Drama club 🎭 This song was good but very repetitive I still like it 11. Recess 🎊 Good song very cheerful ! 12. Teachers pet 📚🐕 Gives me scary vibes I like it 13. Detention ⏱ I like this song but didn’t hit me as much as the other songs

S T U N N I N G✨💕🥳. Melanie’s unique style has always captivated me and I was so excited for her second album to come out. The wait was WELL worth it and this album is not only sonically cohesive and matured, but still in Melanie’s cute and fun style. The best part is that she wrote, directed, produced, stared in, and pretty much had a part in every aspect of this beautiful project and it really shows. 💓 Plus she released this for FREE on YouTube, not many artists would do that. All in all a MARVELOUS album which I have on repeat, with my personal favorite being Detention.✨💓 I can’t wait for what she has in store for the future!!!💘💘🥰

And it’s great. Like REALLY good. I’ve been listening to it non stop. She makes music like I’ve never heard before. It’s so unique how she makes her album into story. I do feel like the music is a little different from crybaby and I prefer the first album a bit more but she did a great job. I think there’s only about 5 albums in resistente where I liked every single song in the album, and this is one.
