I would've bought the entire album but I don't have much money. It was very difficult to choose... I ended up purchasing the song I could relate to the most. I chose Detention. It helps me get through detention.

No! It’s so sad how explicit these songs are! Her voice is still incredible, but what?? School Bus? Strawberry Shortcake? Those songs are so bad! The clean ones aren’t even clean! I keep thinking I find a good song, but I hate how it bleeps every 10 seconds. I do think Orange Juice and Recess (the clean version) have good messages, but it doesn’t cancel out the rest of the album. And I know the Crybaby’s would love to believe that her main audience isn’t teens, but it is, and this is not the example she should be setting for them.

a lot of people say that the plot in the movie is hard to find but i see this as what seems to be the school systems. each song represents a different meaning and the movie shows us that. for example, wheels on the bus is about bullying and in the movie you see crybaby get bullied. what Melanie did and is still doing is very creative and nothing i have ever seen in a artist. she is very talented and although her songs are and can be explicit, it doesn’t mean it’s bad. crybaby was also an amazing album. crybaby was literally introducing the character like she said and then k-12 is about the struggles of being in school and school systems. anyways i hope she makes a movie for portals too and i think this album and film is really interesting and creative. i love it

I think the album could’ve been a little better but she’s good but I don’t know it just is not that good. It’s kind of bad and also that Apple Music is way cheaper like why we spend our money just for music that’s a little Dumb no cap but at least it’s not me spending money so this could be like a solid two stars cause I only really like one song of it. Let me just start with, why would you even believe that? Everything on the internet isn’t true. If someone who isn’t even on speaking terms with her randomly says “Oh yeah, know that celebrity Melanie Martinez? Even though I’ve had all this time to tell people, imma be salty that she ditched me and start stuff about her being a r4pist!” out of nowhere? Secondly, there wasn’t a single piece of evidence pointing to the accusations against MM except for her former friend’s word. Third, if you don’t want to support an artist, then why even write a review? The best thing you could’ve done is silently gave her whatever number of stars you wanted to give her, or just ignore her if you really are that gullible. I love how Mel has not only carefully chose her wording of her songs, but also gave them a meaning! Some of them tell you to be yourself and not to be ashamed of who you are, but in a way so she just doesn’t say ‘be who you are’ but she makes it feel like it actually means something.

Wow, guys, this is only her 2nd album and she’s already proving herself to be an iconic artist. She isn’t just serving a good album she’s created a full on project. Not only are the songs amazing but each one holds a strong underlying message about real world problems from ‘wheels on the bus’ (how society turns a blind eye problematic situations), ‘show and tell’ (about how she’s struggling with the fame aspect of her career), ‘orange juice’ (Bulimia) and ‘recess’ (about her struggles of making a comeback.

Been a fan of Mel for ages and yet again she doesn’t disappoint love this album so much!

I thought that all the songs were so uniquely different to one another even though some of them sounded the same. I only just started listening to this album 3 days ago and I absolutely love it!!💗

This album is not a patch on Crybaby, many of the songs sound the same, they’re all very monotonous and you realise that Melanie relies on the same structure for every one of her songs. I also feel that she sexualises children in a few of these songs, and Teachers Pet in particular makes me very uncomfortable. I also don’t see why people say you cannot understand the songs without watching the film, because albums should be able to stand alone.

ok so, i decided to give melanie the benefit of the doubt after the whole rape thing because i’d heard things about it being a lie and gave this a go. some of the songs i really like (wheels on the bus and show and tell probably being my favourites) but the other ones aren’t really memorable for me or individually great in the same way her first album was. i’m a little disappointed tbh considering after all the allegations i expected her to come back with something really good to try and revive her career but this seems a little lacklustre. the movie is visually stunning but without the visuals many of the songs are just plain boring.
