- NOT UP TO STANDARD

some good music here but the songs are not up to standard

- How do I get a refund?

It is actually embarrasing to listen to.

- Incredible

Unbelievable that Bruce at this age along with the E St. band can produce such powerful music. Top five albums of his for sure.

- how out of touch is this guy?

No one has sent a letter in 30 years

- Woke Itunes

I have noticed there is a pattern of albums of liberal artists listed #1 in Itunes with no top songs at all (Dixie Chicks). It seems obvious to me Itunes is pushing the sales of these albums not realizing we listeners do not care about them .

- No

No no

- Letter to you

Longtime fan, it is great to see Bruce doing something with the East Band. I have waited a while for it to happen, well worth the wait. The songs; lyrics are deep and music is perfectly set as always. That never changes with Bruce. I find the album soothing, familiar and rhythmically catchy. I can’t help but think that at some point we may not hear from Bruce anymore. I think the latest albums seem like a closing. Like they are a wrap up to a character we depend on, we want to feel that character forever. Hearing what he feels, sees and where life takes him next. Bruce please don’t stop now. A Devoted Fan

- Vintage Springsteen

Quintessential Springsteen. The lyrics, the sound, the intensity of the voice. His music can not be denied.

- Yess block luke combs

Amazing album

- E Street Band is Better Than Ever!

I’ve always liked and respected Springsteen’s music, but his sound is at its best when he’s backed by the E Street Band. They’ve never sounded better. The inclusion of some of his earliest, unreleased songs makes this all the more satisfying, and the story behind the project makes it all the more poignant.

- It’s the Boss, enough said.

Great album. I am a millennial that enjoys the Boss and even if you’re an ocasional listener, this album won’t disappoint.

- Classic Brilliance

Love his music

- Good but annoying

What happened to the days of listening to your favorite artist without hearing about their “fake” political views? Here is a guy that employs less minorities than Trump but calls him a racist. A millionaire that just refined his mansion as agricultural to avoid taxes but criticizes. Bruce: We listen to you for your music, not because we want your advice and influence on our political views. How many Republicans listened to this record and decided to change their vote. Ah, no one? Play your music Bruce. That’s all we need for you.

- Bobby Bee on "The Boss"

Who would have thought I'd be sampling & purchasing an entire CD by Bruce Springsteen. It got such a write-up in the AARP magazine and so many decent cuts - I had to!! Buy it!! just as poignant and reflective of the Pandemic and the best period piece since 'Alicia Key's 'Alicia (featuring "Good Job"

- Love!!

Thanks Bruce for a amazing album! Brings back memories I associate with all your earlier work!! Love the whole album!

- I Was Born in the USA Not in A Mirror

Louder, as you were waking the dead. I am listening, Thank you.

- Like a Mood Drug!

This album elevates my mood and helps me not think about the problems we all face today! Bruce and the E Street Band have bottled another elixir for us all to drink down! My rock and roll heroes are all getting older, just like me, but Bruce and the band are getting better. I just pray COVID ends for the health of this nation and world and also so we can all get another Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band tour to promote this album and give therapy to a divided nation!

- Bad

Biden Harris 2020

- All the weaknesses gone!

No synth washes, no dumb politics, no fussy overproduction or trend chasing, he’s not doing the cowboy shtick, no Woody Guthrie pantomime, and few Patti vocals! Sounds vintage and great, although no sax. Recording quickly and spontaneously, like Dylan, suits Springsteen. This is awesome. But, “Ghosts” is “The Walls Came Down” by The Call. Accidental rip-off. And Bruce’s buddy Willie Nile did a song called “House of a Thousand Guitars.” I think Bruce is absorbing some things without realizing it.

- Still Melts My Heart

Bruce and the boys bring back the goodle days with some great new songs. I’m on the opposite end of much of his personal beliefs, but that has nothing to do with my love for his music for the past years and now. You’ll always be the ‘BOSS’. Keep on singing ,playing, and writing.

- Almost

Lacks the punch and power off the Boss. Time to hang it up, or knock it down. Almost good, but almost doesn’t cut it for greatness.

- Just what I'd hoped for

As a middle-aged music fan my expectations of favorite artists have been reduced to hoping that there's a song or two on a new album that I may enjoy. I was really pleased when I listed to this entire album through a couple times and came out loving it. I think it's his best since The Rising (though I did enjoy Wrecking Ball). He and the band remain at the top of their game. Note: for these one-star reviews, I'm guessing they don't care for much other than Bruce's biggest couple of hits. If that's you, skip this one, too. But if you enjoy his body of music, you'll enjoy this one too.

- Glory Days Again!

Thanks Bruce for the new songs and your renewed passion with the E Street Band. Definitely needed in these times and brings me back to the “Glory Days” growing up in NJ!

- See you in my dreams

NASCAR did a tribute to Jimmie Johnson with this song. #OneFinalTime

- Worst album yet

I’ll never understand why artists of every stripe feel such a need to virtue signal and lecture their audience. It certainly comprises the quality of their product

- Soundtrack of my Life

Started for me in 1975 and he's been in my life ever since. Lucky to have his music along for the ride. My letter to Bruce would be a simple one. Thank you!

- Letter to You

One of his absoute 3 best albums. E Street Band is at the pinnacle of his 50 year plus career.

- Best E Street Band album in Years

The fools and trolls are easy to spot. Ignore them. This is a complete and fully realized E Street Band album...the remakes of the three older songs fit perfectly into the full album structure. It goes without saying that these are professionally written, recorded, and played...live with whole band for the first time since the1970s. Unlike other artists of his generation he continues to write new material that puts all that modern and contemporary auto tuned music to shame. Listen, and listen again...and again...and again...

- Still the best

We've both come a long way from St Rose of Lima, Bruce. Recording this album live with the band is great.

- Looking forward to the tour!

Watch the movie, it gives you a framework for the album.

- terrible

He really lost it like sleepy joe

- Bitter Bruce

Bitter Bruce needs his extra buck ? Won’t give him a dime of my money!

- Pm

So good ! Enough said ! Dub man.

- Draft Dodger

He’s a fake and it comes across in his music. He was also a draft dodger and not a true hero to anyone.

- Letter To You

Finally, we get great rock from someone that knows music and how to write great songs, instead of the latest garbage on the radio pretending to be rock- give me a break. Most of the latest rock bands on the radio are trash. Springsteen and Wofgang Van Halen are a welcome sight and sound of American Rock.

- best in 20 years

This is the way the the E Street Band and the Boss should sound.

- For all Reviews... please read

For all reviews for or against.. Is this how you accept judgement of Art now? 1 - 5 stars And leave a comment below.. Think about it..

- Incredible

God bless you Bruce. The songs have a spritial quality--they dig down and touch the deepest reaches of my soul. This is my first written review. I wrote as a need to send a thank you "Letter To You". Five stars is not enough to express the greatness of the music.

- Cool

Nice one

- Get past the artists politics

I don't like some of Bruces latest political comments, but they are completely not relevant to the music. Some of the best albums ever made were from leftists or even communists under the covers, but the albums themselves were great. Be mature enough to separate the two.

- Great songs with meaning. Watch the documentary!

This album is so easy to listen to. The people attacking him and giving him one star for his “politics” are actually the disgusting ones. There really is not much political here. Watch the documentary to understand the motivation. His religious upbringing, his former bandmates, his fans are all inspiration for the songs on this album. Relax people.

- Still the Boss!

Guess we can easily tell who the republicans are and who the democratics are from these reviews. His legend continues...

- The Best

Thank you Bruce...A great album that is real E-Street rock and roll...

- Shut up and Sing

I have really loved Bruce's music for many years. The few clips I've heard sound great. I do wish that he, along with others would simply sing, dance, act, or throw the ball. Your opinion doesn't matter other than thinking I will spend my money elsewhere while you go live somewhere else.

- Love it!!

Awesome!!

- What? This is great!

I rather love the evolvement you hear of Bruce in these. Maybe YALL are just lookin for a way to make this political but just enjoy it. They’re nice songs.

- Fine work

After seeing the documentary on Apple, buying the album became imperative. I can readily identify with the songs. Age may have much to do with it.

- The E Street Band is Back!

Starts out stronger than it finishes, but still amazing what The Boss can write & record, when backed by the E Street Band.

- Impressive

Bruce does it again. Some throw away stuff here but also some of his best music since The Raising.

- Still the Boss

And I’m still his fan.

- Springsteen

Reflections of friends lost and the passing of time. Stories well told by a master. Chapin would have been proud. Musically I think The Power of Prayer is the best song. It has a great hook. Also liked Last Man Standing.

- Slow but good

Not the best album, a little too slow for me but Bruce is nowhere near being the “one hit wonder” someone on here said he is. I have an idea, how about you try doing what he does and have that said about you? I’ve loved many of his songs and albums…Bruce, Sturgill, Chris Stapleton, Loretta Lynn, Van Morrison and many more..music geniuses and gems that the critics don’t deserve to listen to.

- Great CD for fans

Great to have Bruce and E-Street back In the age if the drum machine, Max’s drums have never sounded so good.

- Some of Bruce’s best music in years

After the entrancing diversion that was Western Stars, Bruce Springsteen reunites with the E Street Band for an album that feels like coming home. Powerful rock anthems, delicate twangy folk tunes, and gritty political ballads make this a return to form, and one of the best studio albums Bruce has released in over a decade.

- Deep and beautiful

Well crafted, and rekindles the sound of the E Street Band. While I wouldn't put it in legendary status, it has emotion, is easy to listen to, and just feels right to keep returning to. What a treat.

- Springsteen hits a home run with Letter To You

Springsteen’s New album Letter To You with the E. Street Band is superb. This is The Boss at his best. Rainmaker is the highlight of the album. Bruce has earned his place in rock history years ago and is still making great music to this day.

- A true champion

Bruce Springsteen is the seminal rock n roll poet. This album gathers together something from each era of his time as an artist and synthesizes those eras through the legendary E Street Band. The results are beautiful, meditated and hopeful. At 71, his sawdust and honey vocals have never sounded more experienced and his timing never better to offer his fans what they have been longing for. Album of the year in my books!

- It’s ok

Not a masterpiece, but there are many albums to live up to. It’s an appropriate album for a person in their 70s.

- That's why they call him "the Boss".

Outstanding Springsteen. One of the best singer songwriters ever.

- Champion Loser

Springsteen has certainly lost it. But, he never really had it anyway. He is just a one hit wonder. I have been an on air DJ at several different radio stations in Canada for the past 40 years. I would never disgrace my listeners with this crap.

- New and vintage Bruce at the same time

Loving the sound. Ghosts is primed for a big concert venue. I know a tour was planned on the heels on this release. Hope we can find a way through this pandemic and get the chance to see Bruce and the band again soon.

- Letter to You

It’s like coming home! Thank you. Love it!

- Springsteen

I can breath again Keep it rolling bruce you have no idea How we all depend on it!

- Good old Springsteen!

Finally back to his old sound. Love it!

- Still got it

Great album

- Soulful

Full of heart. Ghosts sits comfortably among his best.

- Bruce and the E Street Band make magic

I cannot believe how good this album is. Great song after great song and hope I one day get to hear them live.

- Showstopper

Lyrics and music that touches your soul.... love this ❤️

- Great Album...

Being an occasional fan of Bruce Springsteen, such as for only certain songs, I really like this album. Most of the songs are great, particularly these ones, One Minute You are here, Letter to You, House of Thousand Guitars, and I’ll See You in My Dreams. .

- Letters to life

Thoughtful and heartfelt and pfft if anyone doesn't get it.

- Western Stars, with the band

Feels like the next step from Western Stars, with Max’s drums and Gary’s bass plus the guitars of Nils & Steve adding a bigger E-Street sound. Never reaches majestic heights but leaves you feeling very very satisfied. A couple of these tracks will be awesome done live.

- Like a fine wine

I could not wait for this ablum to be released. Absolutely love it! Every song is every bit Boss style. Will be playing on repeat for a while :D

Nice

- Masterpiece

This is an album springsteen diehards have been waiting for. Recorded live over 4-5 days with the greatest live band ever- the EStreet Band this is an album that has it all. Great new songs plus 3 fifty year old songs brilliantly reworked. There are themes running through the album- hope, friendship, loss, mortality, glory, love and life. All spectacularly captured by Bruce and the band. Bruce is now 71 but he’s ageing so well and seems to get better and better. The bond between the musicians is something special that is cherished by each member. It’s seems amazing that Bruce plays the bare songs on acoustic guitar and the band just goes away and works out their individual parts that gel perfectly together. There are no modern day artists who could pull something like this off! An amazing talent, so genuine and modest.

- Great single

New single is great, and looking forward to complete album

- WONDERFUL

The song, HOUSE OF A THOUSAND GUITARS, is wonderful, I just love it every time it plays. The album is an awesome accompaniment to Western Stars..

- Excellence bar one song

Love this album. From start to.. almost finish. I’ll see you in my Dreams, the last song, just doesn’t do it for me I am afraid. Sort of like a Working on a Dream outtake, and that’s no good thing! I was worried when I read three old songs had been recorded for the album. Songs that were wordy in the extreme, in Bruce’s writing style from the very early 70s. But I needed have worried, Bruce KNOWS best. They all fit seamlessly and in fact are almost the highlights of a tremendous album of melancholy and loss. To the reviewer who said go back and get the fire in your belly... you didn’t listen close enough my friend. Plenty of fire in a few of these songs about the current political climate. But hey, he’s over 70. He’s pretty much earned the right to explore all/other/different aspects of life/death apart from “we’re pulling out of here to win”. I’m glad he did. Last Man Standing, Ghosts, Letter to You and Burnin’ Train are just outstanding rock songs. Welcome back Bruce and the ESB.

- Great Rock Album

So many great songs, Ghosts, Burnin’ Train, Last Man Standing, House of 1000 Guitars and so many others

- another sonnet

Zzzzz

- Phenomenal Album

Fortunate enough to have an early listen. Outstanding record. Has it all. Older songs are majestically reworked. New material has flourishes from so many albums along the journey . Production/ sound awesome, band sounds amazing, vocally Bruce strong as ever. Near on perfection.

- Album of the year!

An incredible body of work from start to finish. I can only imagine how House Of A Thousand Guitars, Last Man Standing and Ghosts are going to sound live in concert!!

- Blah

Still got a great voice on the Slower songs but the rock tunes are really vanilla..Blah Blah

- The Boss☝️

It’s all been done before☝️Still loving The Boss💪❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍💫🎸🎸🎸😎🍺

- Emerald

Zzzzzzz To whiney, need to go back to your original roots and find that fire in your belly. Downhill all the way after “The Rising” Sorry it’s a thumbs down from me.

- Still Delivering

Bruce and the band back at what they do best Let’s hope we get to see this live one day

- Wow

I understand why Ghosts was the first single and it’s a great tune. But there are a number of better tracks. Some of the songs make me feel emotional and the writing is as good as it’s ever been. It takes me right back to when I first heard tunes like The River and Darkness on the Edge of Town. If this turns out to be his last album, what a way to go out. Sensational.

- Letter to you

If I was a priest Very good sounds like Dylan

- Still at his best

After the first listen I was not sure but after another listen I realise I was wrong. Amazing album from one of the best in the business. I was very lucky to see one of his concerts in the 80s but he has just got better and better. If your at all unsure just give it another listen. I have it on loop. Thanks Bruce.

- Bruce Springsteen

Bruce and The E Street Band never fail to deliver. A quality, quality album

- Another storming album from The Boss

Interesting that the three old songs are the longest: All six minutes plus. Don't know what that says about Bruce then, or whether as he's aged he hasn't the capacity to write these epics. Not so taken with Song For Orphans, but it's a solid effort by the old guy. Coming after Western Stars he's still setting a high quality bench mark.

- Career spanning smash

Never write reviews usually but on this Bruce uses voices, songs and styles from throughout his recorded career to take a look back, to recall lost friends and bandmates and to celebrate music. This is arguably in his top 5 albums, definitely top 10.

- Born to Rock

BS is back to his best. A crowd of us went to a BS concert on the 4th July 1985 at Wembley Stadium which was great. The concert finished about 8pm. We then walked to the Wembley Arena where we watched Dire Straits (Brothers in Arms tour) which was also great. Interestingly, Nils Lofgren played for both concerts. We never forget that day. Five hours of brilliant music.

- Jimmyb64

Listened to this a few times and really like it.Its a real grower 👍

- lov this from Bruce

Bruce and E street Band back with the best album since the Rising.

- Top Quality

Best album from Bruce in a long time, can't stop playing it. Favourite tracks 'Letter To You', 'Burnin' Train', 'If I Was The Priest'. Imagine 'Burnin' Train played live. If you haven't watched the Apple TV film/documentary you must, and the Zane Lowe interview. Both provide so much info behind the songs.

- tried and tested

Been on THE BRUCE Journey since The River back in Edinburgh Playhouse 1981 Formula still ther if it aint broke etc ,loved the diversity of Western Star Think we may be coming to the end of the journey but still a quality album as usual Similarities with many of the great album tracks of the past on this one, which i can live with . Need to play it to death to let it sink in

- Getting better

Bruce seems to be getting better with every album he releases. Love it & can’t stop playing it. Well done Mr Springsteen.

- Brilliant album

You know it’s a cracking album when there’s no fillers, love every track from start to finish

- TUNES!

To get a guy, at this stage in his career, still on top of his game is incredibly rare. To get a guy delivering a career high as a 20th/21st studio album is unheard of. All the E Street licks and tricks are on show also. I'm crying and laughing in equal measure. Well done my man, well done

- Try to remember one melody...

no longer relevant....

- Just what we need

In dark times Bruce and the band roar back to give us hope! Fantastic songs, great to hear the band in full throttle and sounding amazing. This is one of the best albums they have every released. Quite simply......brilliant!

- Fabulous

Bruce and the E Street Band at there best listened 3 times. Then watched the documentary, that’s a much watch, again fabulous.

- Superb

Love this album! Pure genius!

- So needed

This is such a good album. Reminds me of Darkness, the River, the rising. Emotional, uplifting and powerful. Musicianship unparalleled. In these difficult and depressing times, this is a much needed piece of relief. Thank you Bruce, and thank you the E Street Band. Also highly recommend the documentary on Apple TV Plus!

- Love it

Just love the guy. I’ve waited a long time for this album. He is the one positive constant on this planet that is always there. His music is inspired and not a single day passes that I don’t listen to Bruce. Thank you from all of us, we love you and we love the very talented E Street Band.

- I don't know how he keeps doing it

What an album, positive, vibrant and each song to sing along to. I don't know how he keeps doing it but thenk the Lord he does. Get some good bins on and listen close

- Timeless. The Boss is back.

Brilliant.

- There comes a time when...

... you need to rest on your back catalogue and not dilute its worth

- Love it

Triggered emotions I never thought I had, so good from beginning to end. If I had to name a favourite I would say Ghost but there all great songs.🐰

- A remarkable work of Art, uplifting humanity during these dark times.

I love this album, a great reflection of Bruce’s personal life and struggles. This album is uplifting and should be listened to by all people.

- It’s good

It’s a bit ‘shouty’ his voice in Western Stars was much more controlled and easy to listen to and the tracks for me weren’t as enjoyable.

- E Street class

An excellent return 👍

- No Actually

For the previous reviewer this has nothing to do with the last album whatsoever. Recorded earlier this years in his own studio with the E Street Band, does however feature a few really old songs. Upon release today all I can say Is I am so relieved, after the atrocity of the last album Bruce Springstten is back with the E Street Band and all is good for now.

- Good old Bruce

Left over from the last album , but still sounds good

- Wow

I was amazed I dident think it would be that good But wow

- Last man standing

Last man standing is a amazing song.

- Classic

Western Stars just didn’t do any justice for Springsteen but this album does. This is the Springsteen that we know and love.

- Coolest grandad on the planet

Roll on the full release!

- The Boss

Absolutely fantastic!!!

- Letter to you

Brilliant album I love it

- What can you say?

This album is truly brilliant.

- BS

Absolutely love this album!

- Letter To You

Pure magnificent…

- One of his best

Might be me getting older ...but Bruce is on top form with this album ...very different to Western Stars but one of these albums you can’t put down & gets better with every listen ...not a single bad track & all stand by themselves....lovely seeing this collaboration with the E street band - maybe not for everyone...but it’s been released at the right time...definitely one of the must listen the albums for 2020 ...

- Quality

Having listened to this twice now it’s clear this is one of The Boss’ best albums and in ‘Ghosts,’ ‘Janey..’ and ‘If I was a Priest’ three of the greatest songs of his career in my opinion. ‘Western Stars’ last year and now this? In a word: phenomenal.

- Brilliant

Listened to the whole album a few time’s now, Bruce and the E Street at their best. Fantastic album.

- Brilliant

Absolutely love this album everyone a great song .

- Classic E street sound

Bruce back to best, a modern take on his 70’s E street sound. The opening unusually quieter track is the perfect gateway from Western Stars but from there this is the band in full cry ! Springsteen fans will love this album, full band, Roy and Jake let loose and just great tunes throughout.
