I’ve been a fan since the start of Joshs career, and find it amazing that he’s able to give music for such a wide range of fans! This album is no different! There’s a couple songs he wrote (I was so happy when he started doing that!), covers of a variety of songs he or fans wanted him to sing, and truly amazing duets. Not many know that Josh sang ‘Shape of my Heart’ WITH Sting on a Chris Botti PBS special in Boston. I was there, and I’m so glad he made himself a re-do! The duet with Sara brought me to tears. Their voices blend so perfectly! If you love Joshs voice on recording, you’ll be blown away that it’s EVEN BETTER in person!
I’m sure there will be one, and that the 3 or 4 extras will be totally worth the wait! It makes me nuts tho.. 🤪 Artists ALWAYS do this now. It really does cost more to grab the first release and then pay full for each of the rest.
Fabulous versions of some classic songs. Love the duets. Another home run by Josh Grogan.
Just on his voice alone - still a delight to hear
He is in quarantine and is still putting out music for us! Quit complaining that they are covers and not new songs! He is awesome !
Excellent work!! I love Josh Groban!! He has a lovely and warm voice.
Beautiful voice. Be original
I agree. With others. It’s time for new original songs. Covers are nice. But not continuing
God thank you so much for allowing the world such a beautiful voice to listen to. “The Impossible Dream” is another gorgeous song by Josh Groban. Cannot get over how wonderful it is to listen to his voice. I find it so beautiful to hear his music. A must download. Cannot wait for the whole album.
Josh has an amazing voice but always shines through the most when he tackles classics such as the ones he did on Stages. His version of The Impossible Dream is one of the very best versions I've ever heard in my life. He knocks it out of the park. Amazing.
Love this album, please keep them coming!
Interesting choices
He can sing the phone book. I love this album Anyone who doesn’t like it can go listen to his older cds. There are quite a few of us who loved this album.
Josh it’s time to go back to what made you so truly enjoyable, certainly not this compilation of song selections except for maybe just one. Time to emulate your work done on the “Awake” recording’s. (Awake, truly enjoyable & priceless!)
Josh’s voice just melts a persons heart, the music is sensational as usual.
So many haters GO AWAY!!! This album is amazing!! Cannot wait for the new 6 tracks coming YOU ARE NOT a real JOSH fan if you do not like his work PERIOD
I caught his PBS special tonight 11/28 and the first cut caught my ear. I kept thinking this song/melody I know but his voice is too soft for it or some such. Turns out I know it hearing my aunt play Sinatra in the 60’s, his Reprise records I believe. Not comparing vocals tho and now it is growing on me big time. I am speaking of “The World We Knew (over and over). This is a classic dramatic vocal and arrangement of the era, and his musicians and orchestra on the album did a smashing “James Bond” theme sound to the beautiful arrangement - works magic. Love that! The PBS concert replays again midnight tonight east coast and possibly 12/5.
I’m a Josh Groban fan from the beginning, even went to multiple concerts but this album is horribly old fashioned, no updated music here. I’m so disappointed in returning the album and listening to my old albums of his. He really needs to re-think his song selections!! Would have LOVED to get some more diversity from him like we’ve had in the past.
I dont like cover if other people songs....this album is a waste of time....i love jsh groban...but only when he does original stuff
It’s like this man new we needed him right now. His voice is beyond reason! This is perfection! Thank you Mr. Groban ❤️
Thank you for these beautiful songs.
I am a fan of Josh Groban's earlier works but feel that he has obvious strengths where his voice reaches it fullest range adding value to the song and lyrics; however he also has some weaknesses when picking the songs for his albums. In specific his rendition of the Elvis Presley song on this album takes away all of the great work and effort put into the other songs.
Both sides now is redone once again and I love it!! But no one does “angels” better than Robbie!
Josh Groban is like... warm honey, soft falling snow, a hug from your mama after a bad dream, he is the cream on the cup a mediorcy called the music business today.
Can’t wait for the entire album! The duets with Leslie Odom and Sara Bareilles will be amazing! Sara and Josh are my favorite singers and they are covering one of my all time favorite songs “Both Sides Now” dont wait pre-order your copy now!
Your Face. Magnificent.
Congratulations on this very uplifting album!
I loved hearing a hunky handsome man singing Roberta Flack's song. Its nice to hear how a man might be mesmerized and taken with a woman in this way. As women could relate to this falling in love moment with another. That depth is in Josh becuase he chose this song. I fail in love with Josh Groban every time I hear his voice and see his face.. Josh, let's go on a date! ;-)
I was so disappointed with this album. The only song I really enjoyed was Angels. His voice is amazing, but this album did not begin to showcase his range and diversity. Most of the songs were very uninspired and boring. Orchestration and arrangements were not very interesting for a lot of the songs. His prior album Stages was good, but my least favorite until this album. Please, please go back to the style of music that made you famous.
Although I like his other music better, you can’t deny Josh has a beautiful voice.
Josh music is so beautiful I’ve been listing to him since 2003 he’s so talented I just love his voice he’s absolutely amazing wonderful song impossible dream is beautiful I can’t wait till the whole album is released wonderful a true masterpiece -Katie
A covers album is ok - only because of Josh Groban’s wonderful singing. An album of all news would be even better.

Josh could literally sing the phone book and I would be right there for the album. Yes these are covers but seriously who cares? The man can SING. The duet with Leslie Odom Jr is exactly all I hoped it would be. I'm just so happy that during this dumpster fire of a year we get a new Josh album. Absolutley beautiful!!
Timeless
Nice voice, but this is background music. I’ve listened to this three times and nothing grabs me but some of the background vocal arrangements. The one song where he should have soared, the Impossible Dream ( that is the point of the song) , he takes a fresh approach and it reads to me, “I am not going to reach that dream, why bother.”
Great voice and great man of GOD! I plan on buying the cd once it comes out!
Just listening to the first two songs released and I know this album will be incredible! The kind of music we need to listen to in this unprecedented times. A voice of an angel....can’t wait for this albums complete release!!!

In music, harmony is the concept of combining different sounds in order to create new, distinct musical ideas. Theories of harmony seek to describe or explain the effects created by distinct pitches or tones coinciding with one another; harmonic objects such as chords, textures and tonalities are identified, defined, and categorized in the development of these theories. Harmony is broadly understood to involve both a "vertical" dimension (frequency-space) and a "horizontal" dimension (time-space), and often overlaps with related musical concepts such as melody, timbre, and form. A particular emphasis on harmony is one of the core concepts underlying the theory and practice of Western music. The study of harmony involves the juxtaposition of individual pitches to create chords, and in turn the juxtaposition of chords to create larger chord progressions. The principles of connection that govern these structures have been the subject of centuries worth of theoretical work and vernacular practice alike. Drawing both from music theoretical traditions and the field of psychoacoustics, its perception in large part consists of recognizing and processing consonance, a concept whose precise definition has varied throughout history, but is often associated with simple mathematical ratios between coincident pitch frequencies. In the physiological approach, consonance is viewed as a continuous variable measuring the human brain's ability to 'decode' aural sensory input. Culturally, consonant pitch relationships are often described as sounding more pleasant, euphonious, and beautiful than dissonant pitch relationships, which can be conversely characterized as unpleasant, discordant, or rough. In popular and jazz harmony, chords are named by their root plus various terms and characters indicating their qualities. In many types of music, notably baroque, romantic, modern, and jazz, chords are often augmented with "tensions". A tension is an additional chord member that creates a relatively dissonant interval in relation to the bass. The notion of counterpoint seeks to understand and describe the relationships between melodic lines, often in the context of a polyphonic texture of several simultaneous but independent voices. Therefore, it is sometimes seen as a type of harmonic understanding, and sometimes distinguished from harmony. Typically, in the classical common practice period, a dissonant chord (chord with tension) "resolves" to a consonant chord. Harmonization usually sounds pleasant when there is a balance between consonance and dissonance. This occurs when there is a balance between "tense" and "relaxed" moments. Dissonance is an important part of harmony when it can be resolved and contribute to the composition of music as a whole. A misplayed note or any sound that is judged to detract from the whole composition can be described as disharmonious rather than dissonant.
