- They are back!

Its not an album to compare is simply a collaboration of ideas in this world that we are living in the different voices of the artists that unify Evanescence I love it so much thanks Amy Will Tim Troy and Jen we love you guys

- So very long awaited!

I have been a huge fan since day one! No one has or will I believe come close to what Amy can deliver. It’s that spine tingling feeling when you listen. This new album is like an old friend you haven’t seen or heard from visiting. Welcome back & BRAVO!!!!

- Love. It.

So happy to finally get new music from Amy Lee & Evanescence! Worth the wait tho’ 💜💜💜

- Best work so far

Their best album to date!!!! It was worth waiting 10 years for this to come out. Artifact/The Turn is so beautiful. She really brought Bjork into this opening track.

- Just The Game is Over

Easily their best song. Just amazing.

- Best Album IMO

I think this is the best album yet. Love Will’s drums and Jenn’s guitars. Can’t help but bang your head!

- Amazing

💪💪🤍🤍🕊🕊❤️❤️

- Worth the wait!

The classic Evanescence crunch and energy are back along with the goose bump infused harmonies and hooks that Amy brings to the table. Haunting and empowering...this album ticks all the boxes! Great work everyone, I absolutely love it and can’t wait for the tour!

- They are back!!!!

I love this album! Evanescence keeps getting better and better! A must purchase! My favorite songs so far are: Take Cover, Use My Voice, Feeding the Dark, Better Without You, Wasted On You, and Yeah Right.

- Absolutely love this band

My favorite track is Take Cover, such a good album overall.

- What happened?

One of my top favorite bands since I was a teen and still continually listen to til this day. All their albums are good. This one is not, at all. I had to force myself to give it another listen and it’s just reaffirmed I won’t be listening to it ever again. Bummed about my hopes being up. It’s obligated attending your friend’s garage rock band’s show night quality. That’s not at all the Evanescence or Amy Lee I have ever known.

- sorry but no

it just all sounds the same

- Great Music, Horrible Quality

Great music, as always, but the sound quality is awful. It doesn't matter how I listen to it, headphones, home theater setup, high end car speakers, it almost sounds like a bunch of noise. I hope they come up with another version that sounds better.

- Best album of theirs to date

This new sound is so strong and still evanescence. Hands down their best album. No filler songs- they are all SO GOOD. Far From Heaven is a beautiful ballad.

- The Queen of rock is back!

I feel like we’ve been waiting so long for this album and it doesn’t disappoint! Love you Amy! 👸🏻

- Their best work since "The Open Door"

These past few years have been a treat for Ev fans, a album full of reimagined songs from their catalog (2017's Synthesis + Tour) and a few singls to tide us over througout the pandemic, and finally a new studio album. All the songs here are fantastic with dreamy electronics and pounding drums mixed with lyrics about empowerment. I had to knock 1 star off due to the poor mixing which made Amy's terrific vocals often drowned out by the music. Here's to a new album that won't take another 10 years!

- Fav

You guy are one of my favorite band ever. Amy Lee is rockin out once again🤘🎸

- Could have been better

I was not very thrilled with this particular album, musically, there was no change in chord structure and usage, a lot of very familiar progressions were used, considering this is a supposed come back album, I was hoping for a massive change, Sadly I didn’t get what I expected , I don’t plan on buying his album. I was able to preview it in its entirety through some resources in the music industry... The production could have been better as well... Sorry not sorry

- Probably Evanescence’s best album yet!

Every album that Evanescence has released has just been completely solid. Amy Lee’s vocals and instrumental stylings are out of this world. Every evolution of the band has been great. Every album has a different vibe and sound. Fallen was on repeat for me back in 2003 when I was in high school. The Bitter Truth is simply perfection. All of the songs are amazing. The way the album is produced and how the songs all flow together is beautiful. Evanescence has never disappointed me. I’d love to see them live one day. I own 4 copies of this album as well: the iTunes version, the cd version, the limited edition indie record store vinyl, and the standard vinyl release. I’ve been a fan since the beginning and I will always be a fan. This album deserves a zillion stars.

- perfect return after a decade

this was the best way to return to music after the last album

- Awesome!!

I’m glad to hear from my very favorite band and they are coming back stronger than ever i like that they’re back to their origins Hard Rock I love it!

- Awful

Evanescence has not been the same since Moody left. Sometimes a band can overcome the loss of a member, but it shows that Moody was the heart of the early success of Evanescence. The song writing now is awful.

- Evanescence again shows they’re not ones to be taken lightly

Honestly, Evanescence NEVER went out even throughout their six year hiatus. After their comeback nostalgic album “Synthesis”, Evanescence reminded us and the music industry just how prominent they are in the scene and why other bands should take note of their top place on the music food chain. The Bitter Truth reinstates this bitter truth that NO ONE even comes close to compare. Songs like Broken Pieces Shine, The Game is Over and Wasted on You highlights not only the legendary voice of Amy Lee but the bands superb instrument playing making it extremely difficult NOT to sing and bang your head to the fullest degree. Far From Heaven will give fans new and old yet another reminder of how Evanescence can tone it down without losing an audiences focus. With heart breaking and close to home lyrics this song is easily the best one on the album next to the powerful anthem Use My Voice. Overall, this album is a MUST HAVE for long-standing Evanescence fans and music lovers in general. I hope you enjoy it as much as I am.

- Such a great album!!

Love it so much!! I’ve been waiting forever for more music from Amy Lee. I hope she continues to make more albums. I’ll always be a fan! ❤️

- Come Unto the Savior for Truth and complete Healing!

Amy Lee is such a wonderful person and I have admired her strengths and abilities. This album isn’t the dark, haunting, and cinematic/choir album that I crave, but it is very impressive that the band worked on and released the album during Covid. Looking forward to the next dark-gothic, cinematic album someday.

- So glad they’re back

This is one of the few albums I can listen to without skipping a song. That hasn’t happened (for me) in about 15 years. It’s cohesive, but the songs don’t all “sound the same”. It’s been a few weeks since I purchased and I’m still not tired of it.

- Masterpiece!

This album is a masterpiece!

- Disappointing release

I dont think there is any track on this album I liked, sadly. I've been listening to Evanescence since the beginning and have loved their work on Fallen, The Open Door, and their Origins work. However, this album is just missing something; it feels like it doesnt have much of a soul compared to their other works. Check out their earlier songs and you'll see what I mean. the mxing is also awful. Half the time you cant hear Amy Lee's beautiful voice over the instruments--I think that album would be greatly improved if it were mixed better, but I'm still not sure if the tracks would be good. Overall, Evanescence seems to be devolving rather than evolving, and there are many bands--and vocalists--in metal that I believe are surpassing this band in raw skill. They just have yet to gain the rightfully deserved popularity.

- The bitter truth about this album 🌚

Their best work yet. They have matured so much. Each song is amazing in its own way. Still has the same evanescence feel with a heavier and darker feel. I LOVE IT. The box set, which arrived on my doorstep Friday morning, was perfect. I am proud to continue to call myself an evanescence fan 🤘❤️🌚

- Awesome 👏

Great to have some new music

- LISTEN TO IT AGAIN!

80 to 90% of REVIEWS were GREAT and where they should be! For all those that gave a BAD rating..............LISTEN to every song again? Give it a chance. I can HEAR AMY's VOICE just fine! It is not drowned out by GUITARS. Perhaps those need a to get the wax out of their ears or get hearing aids? HER VOICE IS AWSOME and EVANESCENCE ROCKS! THEY worked very hard on this and is well worth the WAIT! I hope to see them in concert!

- Perfection in ever sense

I have been a die hard evanescence fan since their first album as a young child. Their self titled album left me wanting more or something different. In my opinion it’s incredibly hard to top their first two albums. The Bitter Truth gave me that classic Evanescence sound that I love, but delivered with such strong direction. This album is so cohesive from start to finish. I can also confidently say that this album exceeded all of my expectations and I’m so excited to see what the future holds for the band !

- Been waiting long l!!

I been listening to evanescence since that “wake me up”video came out I remember that day like it was yesterday. Anyways they have been my favorite band forever it brings me back to my high school years I love their music been to their concerts,Listening to this album it’s nice to hear back their rock style last concert I went was with orchestra. it’s true in some songs I hear more the guitars than Amy’s voice. But still love it!

- This band used to be great.

I am sorry to say this but none of the songs stand out to me so far....Amy needs to realize she needs her original band members back. I just wish the ego didn’t go to Amy’s head

- Absolutely Incredible! Thank you Evanescence!

I feel like I have grown up with Evanescence. Every album seems to come out right when I need it to and it’s so crazy how I feel my own soul dancing, screaming, and just soaring with the music. I feel such a connection to this band and I cannot thank Amy, Jen, Tim, Troy, and Will for that. Thank you to everyone else who also made this album happen and to everyone who supported it. What an incredible gift. Thank you & ROCK ON!

- I wish there were more tracks…

10+ years and they can only come up with 12 new songs? That’s really my main complaint though. Love all the songs except I skip over Use My Voice. Also I agree with many others that the quality of the sound isn’t there for most of the tracks. I guess we’ll get another album in another 10 years or so 🙄

- THE BEST

It is... there best yet. It's a 100% buy - the entire album. I can not stop listening to the opening two songs. Amazing work!

- First time right

This was the first full album listen I’ve had on this band...and wow...this record is full of power all the way through. Amy Lee’s voice is on point and drives onto every song. Great album

- Vocally - Awesome.. Musically - Meh

Amy can sing, no doubt, but this music and lyrics are beneath her. Its very boring and uninspiring. Sounds like any other female led rock band.. There is no drama in the lyrics, no emotions and angst that made her so vulnerable. Easily a forgettable album.. Thank goodness we have her earlier work.

- Evanescence

Should be #1 album on the charts to me ❤️🇺🇸🇨🇱

- Full form

Excellent record. Probably my favorite from the band alongside The Open Door.

- Good music, bad political rhetoric

I held off from purchasing this album because I was warned but much to her credit Amy and her gothic ensemble still delivers a solid rock album. However its nearly ruined by some absurd lyrics, some of it so obviously political that its embarassing. OK we get it anyone associated with entertainment dollars has to show their "anti-trump" card to proceed with making a living. Its just a shame because its less music of protest than music in support of the other guy. Politically, I could care less, the reason why I ended up buying the album but for all the talk of artistry...Its really more about selling out. But alas all of rock goes from rebellion to subjugation. It really is just about the money.

- Voice is being drowned out

Overall, it’s great! Idk how I didn’t know about this release but they need to adjust the voice volume because it sounds like she’s competing to be heard over the electric guitar... if they adjust that everything is 5⭐️

- What happned!?

I adore evanescence and think they are one of the greatest bands of all time. That being said this is an unbelievable travesty. The mixing is abysmal to the point where it’s unpleasant to listen to. TheVocals are completely buried behind poorly next guitars and drums. A lot of people are comin to theDefense claiming this was intentional but this just sounds extremely unprofessional. I wish I had not pre-ordered an album I can’t return. Between this and their self titled I’m done. There are no memorable riffs or hooks throughout the album it’s just boring sonically. It’s such a shame because I’ve been waiting since the open door for them to produce a new material album I truly enjoyed. The pandemic is not an excuse for bad recording and mixing. If we were supposed to take that away from the documentary that accompany the album thats sad. There are plenty of bands and artists of all kinds they postpone their plans so they could do it right.

- Wow

Didn’t think they were a band anymore it’s been awhile and they did a great job

- Meh

I've been a fan of Evanescence since their first album Fallen. My personal opinion is The Bitter Truth falls short on what fans have been waiting for and what they deserve. It's been 10 years since they released a new album and this is what they give their fans.?.? I understand the "pandemic" happened but it's still no excuse for what they ended up releasing. There's nothing great about this album, especially when it took 10 years for them to release a new one. This album is lackluster to say the least.

- Far From Heaven is Incredible!

It's nice to see a return to their original style, but more songs like Far From Heaven and everything from Synthesis would be even better. <3

- 👏🏼🙌🏼❤️

LOVE!

- Revived!

So happy they are back! Loving this whole album!

- my thoughts

this album not even good i miss the old 2003 Evanescence at the time they was making bangers

- ❤️

❤️

- Worth the wait

Me: They'll never be able to top the 2011 self-titled album. Also Me: I still have goosebumps.

- The mojo’s gone

Sounds like cover of her own songs

- Love it

Great album

- STRONG AND NEW

A strong and new take on the classic sound that people fell in love with. It’s heavy, spooky, industrial and full of emotion.

- Their best since Fallen

I said what had to be said...

- Omg

Omg its SO GOOD 😍😍😍

- AMAZING!!!!!

overall i like it alot finally new music it totally slaps hard <3 <3

- Lame sounds for Lame Times

I would rather have Covid than listen to this recycled regurgitation of old sounds

- Same sounds

This sounds like all her other stuff. It's as boring as it gets. Fake music.

- Masterpiece

This album is gonna be a masterpiece. The one that solidifies they’re place in rock history. Amy’s vocals are as powerful as ever. The guitars and drums eviscerating and a beautiful compliment to Amy’s voice. Highlights include “Better without you” & “The game is over”

- perfection

amy’s voice is still perfect and that’s all that matters.

- Amazing!!

Amy never ceases to blow my mind with her vocals! Fell in love with the band when I was in high school (‘07) and continue to be a huge fan since then. Will always be a group I’ll gladly buy albums from and support. ❤️👏

- Amazing

So far so great
