This album quite literally saved my life. Especially “God Save Me, But Don’t Drown Me Out” and “Mars”. This album is made for the people out there who feel like they don’t belong! Dominic’s music showed me that there is truly hope for the underrated youth.

- Surprisingly Good

Like many other people I used to think this guy’s music was just really mediocre and was kinda annoyed with how he was constantly being marketed as “the future of rock and roll”. This album though, while the musical influences are pretty blatant, is actually pretty solid. Most tracks are fun pop-punk/alt-pop tracks, with a few flashes of brilliance on tracks like Teresa and the title track. Far from a masterpiece still, but it feels, for the first time, he has a masterpiece in him. The future of rock and roll could do worse.

- A Great Break from Normality

I really enjoyed listening to ‘weird!’. It’s a great escape from normality and it refuses to conform and be ‘normal’. I’ve seen a lot of criticism for the album but I do think it requires some openness from the listener. Don’t listen to it expecting a solid genre from start to finish. I personally feel like I’m listening to a number of different artists, and an example of this is ‘charity’, which feels like it merges Blur and The Fratellis together successfully. Because of the album cover’s seven opposing representations of the artist, I am hardly surprised by the differing sounds and I do quite like it. My main criticism would be an occasional tendency to be ‘over-screechy’. I think ‘Mars’ could have been toned down a little in the last minute to reach a wider audience, and there are a few awkward lyrical choices which might have needed a little more care. It’s a great album for air-drumming in the car (with one hand on the wheel at all times of course!) and it has cheered up my commute already!

- Grow up, grow a brain

If you don’t want to end up listening to Garrree Barlow in the future avoid, acquire some taste, broaden your horizons and stop listening to fakers and puddle deep rubbish. There is good music out there you just have to look a littler harder as the big labels drown it out with shiny marketing/positive paid for reviews and heavy playlisting pressure at radio stations. Your taste hasn’t developed instead it’s been shoe horned. You can do better than this....I promise.

As it’s says in the title after a year we have had it’s nice to let go and listen to this so refreshing that he is being himself and telling everyone along the way it’s ok to be different and I salute that 👍👍😘😘

Unless you listen to the lyrics and the explanations of the songs this won’t be the album for you. This guy has complete understanding of our youth today and what their struggles are. Very clever and very meaningful album . Brilliant ! And I’m 52 years old and downloaded it .
