- Surprisingly Good

Like many other people I used to think this guy’s music was just really mediocre and was kinda annoyed with how he was constantly being marketed as “the future of rock and roll”. This album though, while the musical influences are pretty blatant, is actually pretty solid. Most tracks are fun pop-punk/alt-pop tracks, with a few flashes of brilliance on tracks like Teresa and the title track. Far from a masterpiece still, but it feels, for the first time, he has a masterpiece in him. The future of rock and roll could do worse.
