About Sin City The Mixtape by Ski Mask the Slump God Album
Sin City The Mixtape is Ski Mask The Slump God’s fourth mixtape. This is the first of three projects Ski released June 25th 2021. According to a June 2021 interview with XXL, the project is inspired by Frank Miller’s comic book series, Sin City, and its 2005 film adaptation, which is one of Ski’s favorite movies. The project’s promotional material was filmed in black and white with hints of red, similarly to the art style of the film. Ski’s father also rapped under the name Sin City, which is another inspiration for the mixtape’s title. At the start of 2021, Ski began commenting how he hadn’t dropped a project in two years and would be dropping music all of 2021. On January 11, he once again said he, “can’t wait to drop all year.” On January 24, 2021, Ski tweeted: "So I Finally Got The Date Of When I’m Dropping 🤓". On May 11, 2021, Ski explained on his Instagram Story, a livestream, and in a video with Complex that he would spend May filming music videos and holding photo shoots for project to be released in June. Three days later, Ski officially announced that this mixtape would be released in June.
