321_Penguins - This Album Has No Skippable Songs
I love every single song on this album! The best in this order: Through the Long Night is #1, and then I Don’t Want to Be Alone, All for Leyna, Sleeping With the Television On, Close to the Borderline are all tied #2. Then the rest are tied #3. This album has no bad songs. I love them all.
LOOK! A REVIEW - Different approach, but it worked
This was different, but worked so well
Gl0ck19 - Best Joel Ever!!!
If you like Billy Joel this was the album to have in the 80s. I remember being 10 years old living in Cleveland and they put this album cover on a giant billboard it totally blew me away. This album has so many great songs on it and has a great cover. It will always be the one I remember the most.
Beanaree - My First!! 😃❤️
This is one of my first albums ever!! Love Billy Joel and will forever!! ❤️❤️❤️
Rob of somewhere - Classic Joel
Listened to this vinyl over and over in '80, perfect summertime cruising tunes.
Niz73 - Mr Long Island!!
Oyster Bay NY!!!!!
Fred susan - Not a single 'bad' song
I've been a fan of this 'album' since I was a teen in the 80s.... I have the album, I have the CD.
Grew up, became a parent.... I'm happy I can find my car keys.
Flash forward to tonight....Downloaded a few songs a few years ago off itunes and, [glory days,] felt myself anticipating the 'next' song. Had to look it up and found that it was "I dont want to be alone anymore." Oh yeah.... That one! Great. Download..... but...... before I did, I read the tracks and realized that there is not One Single Bad Song.
Sing along, kids........ Sing along..... and teach your children well! ;)
Melodic rock fan - Great car radio music!
One of my all time favorite albums and definitely my favorite Billy Joel record. * of 10 songs are fantastic-Don't care much for "You were the one" and "Through the Long Night") and Sometimes a Fantasy, I don't want to be Alone, and Sleeping with the TV On are fantastic "under the radar" type songs. Makes you want to crank up the stereo and sing along.
ISewMyOwnClothes - One of the best Billy Joel albums
I had this album on vinyl when it was first released and loved it then. It has stood the test of time, and is generally underrated in my opinion. Yes, everyone knows "It's Still Rock & Roll To Me", but many of the lesser known songs are more appealing now.
This album is really representative of the times - and not just the new wave/rock & roll/ MOR classifications. Listen to the lyrics and you're transported back to a time when we fell asleep with the tv on & got the station Identifier after a certain time.
Yep I know - Ummm
Got this as a b-day gift when it 1st came out in the 80's, didn't like then & time hasn't changed anything. But to each there own.
bradexample - PLEASE FIX SOMETIMES A FANTASY
It’s been YEARS, can we please get the actual studio version of Sometimes a Fantasy instead of this random live version. PLEASE????
Diversified Listener - Awesome
This album brings me back like no other album does. 16 and at my cousin's bachorlette party, this wallflower bloomed and sang along with the others at the top of my lungs (I can't say the beer didn't help though). Over 30 years later I can still sing just about every line with gusto...making my husband smile the other day as he watched me outside dancing and singing while I got work done....and leaving my teenager thinking she "must be crazy"!
broskir - Sometimes A Fantasy Isn't "Live" Itunes
Amazing album. 5 stars. But Sometimes A Fantasy isn't "Live" Itunes. Get it together.
billyjoeldan4ever - Glass Houses is so memorable!
The cover photos are wonderful but it's Billy's songs here that are worthy of the price of this cd. He covers so many bases here like pop, ballads and rock. My fave songs are the ballads, C'Etait Toi and Through The Long Night. So sweet and purely Billy.
8th Day = God Created Music - All the servants at your new hoteeeeel. . .
"Don't Ask Me Why" is one of my favorite Billy Joel songs. Growing up I always found it really catchy. Joel is one of the greatest song writers of all time, up there with Bob Dylan, Elton John, Robert Smith, and other great composers. He's a great performer but he's one of those where when I think of him I think more of his skill in writing, other than just performing. And that's a big compliment from me. Good album.
HippyChick15 - The Best !!
You gotta admit......this is his BEST album !!
Montana Man22 - The Best Ever
The Best Joel Album EVER!!!
Phred the fish - Amazing!
I recently bought this album and "The Stranger" for my new turntable. I was so happy with every song that I just had to buy it on iTunes so that I could listen to it everywhere. It's one of Billy Joel's greatest, and I would definitely recommend it to those who are not sure whether or not to buy it. :]
TonyN737 - Billy's Best!
I love this album! I've had it on record, 8-track, cassette, CD and now iTunes! Best song, "All For Leyna"!
Somersm147 - Glass Houses
This is a classic Billy Joel Album and I would reccomend all the songs on it. My Favorite is All For Leyna though. It is one of Billy's best tracks of all time and for some reason not popular. Can't imagine why right now.
Tim Bombadim - A+
This is the top of the heap
mrk901 - the best
Of all of Billy Joel's albums, this one is in the top five for amazing songs from start to finish. If it weren't for the albums "The Stranger" and "52nd Street", "Glass Houses" would be my favorite album.
Clarinet24 - Looking for a lunatic
Man! Billy's done it again! While the rest of the world was still recovering from disco, the Piano Man managed to hit the ground running in 1980. Heavily influenced by other popular bands of the day, such as Elvis Costello and Devo, Glass Houses comes out sounding simultaneously like an ironic caricature of popular music and an anthemic salute to the snappy, hard-edged eighties rock we all love so much. Hats off to Joel and his entorage once again. Go, Billy!
Okapi80 - One of the Essential Billy Joel Albums
Billy Joel had his ups and downs, but get this one, The Stranger, and Turnstiles, and you have as good a three albums as there were in the 70's and early 80's.
Craig Mak - Billy Joel's rocking album !!
Still listening to this one after 28 years !!!
Tommy Yeargin - A Billy Joel Classic
My favorite songs are "You May Be Right", and, "Don't Ask Me Why". A very good album overall from BJ.
Dignan9 - It doesn't get any better than this
Every song is great on its own merit. To date, THE best Billy Joel album ever. Period.
Beatlerock4 - Truly Amazing
In one word, Outstanding. He never fails to impress. Musical genius. I would say which one was the best but they are all the best. He is amazing in the studio, awsome live, and great anywhere else. Even his album covers rock. He is basiclly the best ever, I think he is just as good as The Beatles, and The Beatles rocked! Another good one, keep um' comin!
green917 - Joel at his finest!
From soulfoul power ballads like "I Don't Want to be Alone Anymore" to hard-rocking, funky songs like "You May Be Right", this is Billy Joel at his very finest. From start to finish, this album delivers. This is a must-own for any Billy Joel fan!
Jtwanabe - Great Songs From One End To The Other
My all time favorite album of his.
Orange Mocha Frappuccino - Probably My Fav BJ Album
I love each of these the rock-infused, addicting tracks. You May Be Right, It's Still Rock and Roll to Me, All for Leyna, and I Don't Want to Be Alone and are especially awesome.
RichYan33 - Good. Not his best but good.
I remember when the song "It's Still Rock and Roll To Me" came out and we went "OHMYGOD! Billy is going new wave!" Not sure what were were thinking. A very good album that kind wears out towards the end but then...lots of albums do that. The first five songs are as good as it gets though.
Zoe-Kaye - Brings me back!
I caught myself singing "You May Be Right" in the shower this morning and then each tune after that! This album brings me back to summer vacation in high school. I played the LP so much back then, I'd memorized the scratches! There isn't one song on this album I don't like. Thankfully, I am looking forward to adding this to my iPod collection of oldies but goodies (since my record player has retired).
lakefront tunes - Glass Houses
I completely forgot about Glass Houses. This album takes me back to 16 during the heat of the summer riding my bike on the streets of Long Island. Every song on this album is incredible. I must buy for Billy Joel fans and a steal at $10 bucks.
november_baby - Perfection
Billy joel is my idol. He is definitely one the best songwriters of all time. This album is practically the full soundtrack of my childhood.
All4OldSchool - Classic
This s one of Billy Joel's finest albums. Unlike most albums, this album doesn't have a single bad song on it. In fact, it doesn't even have a single average song on it. All the songs on Glass Houses are incredible, glad Billy's on iTunes!
bioa67 - glass houses
one of his best; all for leyna and sleeping with the television on, are neglected but habit forming.
mjc22 - THIS ALBUM ROCKS!!!
This is Billy Joel at his best. Buy this album and you will be one happy camper.

It Just is
OrinMckay - There are the best
They are the best band out there congrats for the good songs
wpg1 - Glass houses
The_Paulster - Love it!
The genius of Billy Joel is that he never writes bad songs! Some of my favourites (Scenes from an Italian Restaurant, for example) never made it on the radio, yet are wonderful songs - tune and lyrics seamlessly intertwined. "Glass Houses" is another perfect example: apart from the obvious hits, there is so much to discover and love in this album! I first got it in high school (more than 30 years ago!) and I love it even more today than I did then!
Gamzguy - The Best Joel Album, And One Of My Favorite Albums In General
This album is responsible for introducing me to the wonderful music of Billy Joel.
Not a bad song on it! Take my advice and buy this album, you won't regret it!
Dr. Mary - Good album!
this is a good album--not just the obvious hits. I still remember all the songs--good stuff!
Musictragic - Always a Winner
It was a great album on Vinyl, then a great album on tape. Never bought the CD but glad that I have now got this on the I Pod. Billy just letting it out of his system and creating some iconic songs along the way that you will always know are Billy Joel songs. Sometimes a Fantasy is my pick and combined with the great (and funny) video is one of many standouts.
Cyclotoxic - Rediscover Billy!
Just downloaded this classic album, and rediscovered some of these great tracks. Songs like Don't ask me why, Sometimes a fantasy and All for Leyna were missing from my Billy collection, and although I had some of the other songs, I wanted to buy the complete album to enjoy these songs as they were meant to be listened to. A must for all Billy fans.

😹👌💯 Mum owns Billy Joel CD. This is pure dope.
Fastcar0121 - It’s all in this album - one of the best albums of its time
Just listed to Glass Houses again for the first time in a decade. What a masterpiece. Each song is perfectly pitched, a 3-4 minute slice of genius songwriting, inventive arrangement, tight playing, and strong vocals. The styles vary, but there’s still a coherence to the album. There’s shades of new wave, arena rock, Beatles, … but all with unexpected but lush chord progressions and quirky syncopations that were Joel’s trademark. Not a duff tune in my opinion, and the production is so radio friendly — extending to the mix, not just the arrangements — that it sounds great even streaming on a pair of tinny $2 headphones.
Lsox - Classic
A classic early Billy Joel album delivering strong lyrics with memorable tunes.
Maxdax1709 - My fav
This is my favourite billy Joel album, a lively album with musically controlled angst almost his own take on punk, a definite must have, definetly on par with the stranger musically but jumping ahead with energy :D:D:D
shallam - shatteringlty good
If you like any of Joel's work, you will also love this. Thoughtful, intelligent, musically interesting, well crafted.
Exciting rock and roll, moving romance, haunting loss
