Without a doubt The most mysterious and misunderstood genius of so called classical music. Beethovan's portrayal of his most deepest emotions will absolutely take you to just about the same place he was when he composed symphonies, sonatas and opus'. Anyone who listens with intent will no doubt expeirence just that.
For the beginner a great collection
Nothing is like Solti conducting works by Beethoven. I love them both. A must have album!
Immortal Beloved dramatizes Beethoven's (1770-1827) obsession with a mysterious woman and his tragic loss of hearing. The soundtrack includes selections from Beethoven's most emotion-charged, beautiful works. The listener will be taken on an emotional journey. Those who are unfamiliar with classical music will be won over. Buy the whole album. It is well worth it!
can any one tell me which tarck these are the one song i smy favorite its the part of the movie when hes playing piano and everything falls silent and everyone starts laughing at him and he says from the beginning the second is the fast piano song you hear when one of the women are talking about his lovers, and one girl is running in the woods taking her shirt off as shes running those are my two favorite songs from the film...i wish i could know what symphony they are from bc i have all his music on CD, and i cant find them =(
This is a great soundtrack with some of the best and most famous work from a musical genius. Highly recommend the whole album in all it's grace and beauty. You won't be disappointed.
I love classical music...but I only like Three of them. But I only wish they would allow ode to joy to be bought. Because I would buy it without hesitation. So apple please fix it so I may buy this song... Because I'm not spending money on songs that I may not listen too. So please apple allow ode to joy to be brought without buying the album.
Murray Perahia is probably the greatest classical pianist of our time, and the fact that he is playing the Piano parts makes me really happy. I bought the album because he was playing on it
I have always been a fan of music, but not classical in paricular. I saw this film for Gary Oldman, and walked away in love with Beethoven. This album is a fantastic way to introduce you or a child to some of the most moving, life changing music ever created by man. This album is truly amazing
One of the reason's I fell in love with the movie was the soundtrack. Every piece will evoke some kind of emotion. I absolutely LOVE it!!!!
The combination of the LSO and George Solti, one of the greatest conductors in music history, creates a rich, evocative, and transparent sound that can be appreciated by all, not just music-lovers. The soundtrack is unrivaled in beauty (except maybe by the soundtrack to Amadeus). Ludwig van Beethoven hid most of his emotions and most personal thoughts within his music. One needs only to listen. This album definitely helps us to do so. Bravo.
I enjoyed this movie very much, and I love beethoven which is why I watched the film. And being a Beethoven fanatic, I must say the film was very well done, BUT it exagerrated not only his hearing, which he did not lose completely until he was in his 50's. but also underplayed his personality. The Other film, Copying Beethoven I enjoyed much more because though it had a fictional character in it, it played Beethoven very close to his cards of who and how he was. the music was also much more thought out in it. But I loved Immortal Beloved, I think they both show different sides of The Genius, especially the 9th in Immortal Beloved. But I also loved the 9th being Directed in Copying Bethoven, which also showed much more oth the 9th as well. but watch both and draw from both and more importanly. Listen to Beethoven

Beethoven>all. This is an awesome selection but if you really love his music you should buy all of his symphonies because there are some amazing ones that are compleatly overlooked.
I bought this album when the movie first came out. I will never tire of it...
Sample these excerpts and be taken by one of, if not the greatest composer. This barely scratches the surface of his incredible body of works. Dig deeper and you will be rewarded.
This is an awesome album. I only give it a poor rating because of Apple's decision to prevent the downloading of certain tracks--in particular track #13, the excerpt from the 9th symphony. Such is why iTunes is usually my third "go to" for downloading music.
