The only thing comparable to the resonating sound of the tamboura, in my opinion, is the multi-layered harmonies of the East Indian sitar. The purpose of the Tamboura is to provide the essential drone effect in a sustained manner. Seemingly very simple to play, this instrument requires tremendous focus, control, and concentration in order to play, so that it will complement and not disturb the tonal structures and the interplay of notes of the melody or Raga. This particular selection of Tamboura when used during meditation does that - supports focus and concentration in going deeper within. Soothing and always seem to sound different each time it is played.

this album sounds nice when you listen to the 20 second sample clip sadly . the whole album is this 20 second clip looped 500 times its non stop continuous , just a synthesiser looping the same thing dont buy it , it will just give you a headache . :( a natural REAL tambourah music can be wonderful , but this is a poor computer based synth if they dont give me a refund i will go post a critique on Youtube.
