Perfect to horrify attendees at your over-the-top haunted house.
I initially loved this sound until about 12 minutes into each selection the acoustics went south. I could not believe my ears. I also can not believe that someone actually didn't listen to the recording they had produced and released a product with such a defect. If you buy this selection remember that you are paying for 24 minutes of relaxing sound - the rest was developed for Gitmo.
This album really helped me get to a deeper state of meditation and stay there longer.
I love the singing bowl and this CD gives an hour of pure bliss. If you want to get into the "zone" while meditating or just need to relax a bit during stress at work, this cd is great! Also someone was complaining about the hissing sound on the second track and I also noticed this when I played track on my laptop, but once I listened to CD with my headphones or with my regular speakers I did not have any problems.
Love this. It's my go-to meditation soundtrack!
I am new to meditation and what I notice is that the tone of the singing bowl is very powerful. It puts me at ease immediately, it helps me to balance my chakras easier, this cd is a Gem. The sound is beautifully created, powerful yet soothing. Everyone should own this cd!!!
The sound of the Tibetan singing bowl is known for its healing properties and its ability to induce states of deep meditative absorption. The hand-made metal bowls are traditionally used in rituals as well as for meditation. The resonant sound they produce penetrates through a meditator’s body and mind, allowing oneself to go deep inside. This CD features two recordings. In track one, a single bowl is struck softly and regularly, providing a slow and steady rhythm for deep meditation. In track two, one bowl steadily hums as it is played while two other bowls ring out intermittently. Media Reviews: "The Music For Deep Meditation CDs are wonderful. I played the Tibetan singing bowls in my yoga class during meditation and my students loved it." Alicia Johnson, Account Executive, Yogi Times Business "A must have for Meditators. The finely crafted recordings bring to life the sacredness and power of soothing primordial sounds."Stress Free Living Magazine "How much can be written about a 62-minute CD in which a single note is played on one instrument? Plenty. The ancient, sacred simplicity of the Tibetan Singing Bowl is the strenght of this edition of the Music for Deep Meditation Series. Used for centuries and handmade from 5 different metals, singing bowls seem to resonate forever with hypnotic tones from a single gong strike creating the perfect centering, calming call to meditation. Track one, "Gong Meditation," features a single antique singing bowl struck with the soft mallet at regular intervals for just over 30 minutes. Even an inexperienced meditator will feel instantly calm and introspective. The second track, "Singing Bowl Meditation," mixes the same gong intervals with the one of a kind "singing" sound of the bowl droning throughout the track. These warm multiple harmonic overtones are created by the friction of a wood or leather wrapped mallet smoothly rubbed around the lip of the bowl. The sounds recorded in Tibetan Singing Bowl are as perfect in modern meditation, yoga, music therapy, sound healing, and ceremonial purposes as they were in ancient times. Just make sure your store has some comfy places for your customers to sit and meditate when you play it."Randy Alberts, New Age Retailer Magazine "I liked the way these recordings worked when I actually sat down and listened. This is a traditional approach to meditation music, and the sacred impact of the smooth and tender vibrations is extremely calming. As a recording artist myself, I know what it means to produce something this fragile - a word not usually associated with audio recording. There is nothing but absolute silence beneath the bowls as they sing into your hearts and empty the mind of its pettiness and ego driven desires."Michael R. Mollura, LA YOGA Mag
I love the sound of the singing bowl--and like the one of the waves with the bowls--this is quite effective. I feel it creates an atmosphere of peace and quiet. I recommend a good sound system to listen to this since my computer speakers did not give a good sound. It sounded much better playing this in my stereo system boosting the low frequencies.
Bought this one based on so many good reviews. I am new to Tibetan music but find it rather odd that there are continuous streaks of disturbances throughout these tracks. I guess that is not music but some kind of an audio issue. The reverberating sound of gong is good but the noise spoils it totally.
I find life sometimes very complicated and taxing. I am currently in a journey of finding some peace and quiet. Unfortunately I am not able to just escape to some deserted island but I have found meditation and it has helped me tremendously. I love this recording because it has no thrills. The striking of the bells makes for a very effective tool for meditation.
i absolutely love this album. there's nothing more powerful than tibetan singing bowls.
I am new to meditation and it was interesting meditating with this. I like the Gong Meditation the best. I suggest playing tracks with regular speakers not the laptop speakers, sounds so much better with the extra base of a stereo. I do find meditation is making me calmer and less stressed.

1st track: 16:04 plumbing sound, 16:15 thud. Repeats/loops every 20 seconds starting with gong at 15:43 till end, including plumbing sound and thud! Blissful meditation up to 16 mins though. 2nd track very good. Both help focus and clear thoughts, bring attention to the present.
I just have gratitude for whoever put together this project. It is a delight for me to sit down every evening for my meditation practice. These moments are so precious for me. I find that the CD's from these series were put together with much dedication and love. The production value is high and I find this sound is an excellent background for meditation which easily focuses my mind.
These were well designed to be appropriately spacious and of a length conducive to meditation and relaxation.
This music is wonderfully relaxing. I have been meditating with this on my ipod for 30 minutes in the morning and 30 minutes at night. It has really helped me to focus on the tasks that I need to get done, and be more productive. Definitely worth a listen.
I listen to this at work. Allows me to concentrate on stuff when all hell is breaking out.
I am not sure what others are saying, but I am quite spooked by these sounds.
This is a fascinating recording mainly for it's simplicity. I have been an avid meditator for many years I always loved the sound of the gong. And I find that this recording really is inducive for meditation. True meditation music should turn you to the space of the heart, it should still and focus the mind. The bells remind me of the meditation retreats I have taken with venerable Buddhist meditation teacher Thich Nhat Hanh. The bowls were played during meditation but also throughout the silent retreats I was fortunate to take. Every time I hear the sound, it reminds me to take a pause and breathe with ease. I am not sure what kind of singing bowl they used for the recording but sounds like one of those authentic 7 metal singing bowls. You can generally tell the difference by the tone and the quality of the ringing. Traditionally the 7 sacred metals a singing bowl are made of: 1-Copper (Venus) 2-Gold (Sun) 3-Silver (Moon) 4-Mercury (Mercury) 5-Iron (Mars) 6-Tin (Jupiter) 7-Antimony (Saturn) Tibetan legend says that iron was sometimes replaced by metals from the heaven, where meteorite was sometimes added. In my experience, the sound of the Tibetan singing bowl is so awe inspiring because it is such a primodial sound, like the ocean of the clap of thunder. The vibration created an exquisite space inside, but the space is not empty but full of calm and joy.
There's one word to describe all three of the CD's. Hypnotic. We discovered that Tibetan Singing Bowl is wonderful to play very softly during meditation. Especially the harmonic chimes of the gong on the first track. Whether during meditation, yoga, or work, these cd’s are perfect for anyone looking to achieve a state of peacefulness.
Both of the tracks on this album produced a stillness of mind that is impossible to describe- with the help of these soundtracks your otherwise busy 'thought/mind' finds an easy place to focus which allows your ATTENTION to go deeper and expand farther almost instantly. Highly recommended for keeping your awareness on Awareness-
I was looking for something that would help me concentrate and this definitely does the trick. Misleadingly simple but effective.
Who would have thought that such a simple recording would be so effective. The vibrations of the bowls are a natural way of focusing. I also love the singing bowls with ocean waves and the one with waterfall from Splendor of Meditation.
I like the release of the Singing Bowl with the Ocean Waves a bit better but these one is also nice to meditate with. My favorite track is Gong Meditation. Every time I hear the sound of the singing bowl it reminds me to get back to my breath. The breath is essential for meditation, the most powerful way of going deep within.
I've been studying Tibetan Singing Bowls as part of my yoga technique and this CD is the best one I've heard. With two tracks (over 30 minutes each!) of Tibetan Singing Bowl harmony, it's incredibly soothing. I'd recommend it to anyone who is into meditation or relaxation in general.
Having listened to several tibetan singing bowl albums, I have to say this is without a doubt the best one out there. I have exposed some friends who do not practice meditation to this album and they all found it to be extremely relaxing, especially after a long day.
No bells and whistles just simple power of the singing bowls. I love to meditate with this with my partner. I especially like the first track. The second track is also nice but you have to make sure it has the right EQ, emphasizing the low vibrations. Don't be mislead by the simplicity, this is one of the few recording I have ever found which are truly useful for meditation.
Both of these tracks contain within them either heavy breathing or wind that makes the microphone produce a boofing noise. It is distracting when a person is trying to relax and thus I suggest the album be purchased more for entertainment than meditation.
whenever i have trouble sleeping I put this on and within a few minutes I am out. It is great for meditation too. I highly recommend this album.
As a recording artist myself, I know what it means to produce something this fragile - a word not usually associated with audio recording. There is nothing but absolute silence beneath the bowls as they sing into your hearts and empty the mind of its pettiness and ego driven desires. This album could easily be used for any meditative, relaxing or sound healing situation. Obviously, it should only be considered when you are in extremely contained quiet area with no distractions from the external world.
Greetings: I have found this little gem that is perfect for meditation practice. Keep it simple - that's what the master say - and this CD allows you to do just that. Simply light a candle; burn some incense perhaps; and softly listen to this CD. One will become a expert in Meditation practice in no time at all. Thanks.
The sound quality is nice and clear of the recording. There was a problem with iTunes when apparently there was a clicking noise problem but that was corrected. The sound quality is actually perfect, very happy with it.
I found this record so-so. For one thing, there's not enough silence, especially in the gong track. It sonds like someone almost impatiently hitting the gong (and maybe, per another reviewer's comments, it is indeed just a sample looping over and over). that being said, I find the music soothing when you leave it at a low volume (especially the singing bowl track). My disclaimer - I'm a non-affiliated individual, just looking for good meditation music!

The two songs consist basically of the sound of a gong being hit once every 15 seconds, which I found really nice. What ruined the meditation for me is the vibrating sound in between each gong sound. It was like being forced to hear that annoying tv sound when a channel is offline if anyone knows what I mean.
Meditation is about presence, isn't it? This cd is copy-paste from short segments repeated over and over, with background sounds repeating also. I felt cheated and not at all accompanied in my meditation.

If only i could always feel as relaxed as i do when i meditate to this... jk, ive never actually meditated but my sister and stepmother both do and they say this is great, so if youre into that kind o' thing, check this out. My family says its worth it.
The first Tibetan Singing Bowl album I ever had was by Steven Halpern and this is definitely going to make an excellent addition to my collection. The powerful intonations of this music has helped me to get out of the meditational rut I've been experiencing. Rich, deep and wonderfully relaxing, I would highly recommend this piece for evening meditations as a precursor to a restful sleep.
This CD consists of two tracks, each about half an hour long. The first is a single Tibetan singing bowl and the second three bowls. The sound is pure and rich. As a meditation tool, it resonates through the whole body and I felt embraced by the tones. I would also recommend it as an accompaniment to treatments as it creates a lovely vibration in the space and allows intuitive healing to occur.

A standing bell or resting bell is an inverted bell, supported from below with the rim uppermost. Such bells are normally bowl-shaped, and exist in a wide range of sizes, from a few centimetres to a metre in diameter. They are often played by striking, but some—known as singing bowls—may also be played by rotating a suede covered mallet around the outside rim to produce a sustained musical note. Struck bowls are used in some Buddhist religious practices to accompany periods of meditation and chanting. Struck and singing bowls are widely used for music making, meditation and relaxation, as well for personal spirituality. They have become popular with music therapists, sound healers and yoga practitioners. Standing bells originated in China. An early form called nao took the shape of a stemmed goblet, mounted with rim uppermost, and struck on the outside with a mallet. The manufacture and use of bowls specifically for 'singing' is believed to be a modern phenomenon. Bowls that were capable of singing began to be imported to the West from around the early 1970s. Since then they have become a popular instrument in the US-originating new-age genre often marketed as 'Tibetan music'.
