Each time TR puts out a new release I "prepare" myself for a let down but son of a gun if he doesn't come through once again. If some consider this formulaic then so be it, his formulas are the medicinne to get you through each and every day with a smile, a tear, and the wheels turning in your head with a grin on your face. Give "Somebody Like Me" a listen and enjoy that country/pop melody and you'll be hooked. Can't wait for the next opportunity to prepare that "let down" that hopefully never comes.

Some country fans apparently have forgotten that Johnny Cash was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Country has never been “sellout for the buck” but it has never been about calling artists “sellouts” for their creativity. Country music has always been America’s music because while having strong roots in a certain style, it’s never been afraid to put a whole lot of stuff in with the country base and make up a big ole pot of gumbo! As for this album. Buy it. It’s got your heartfelt songs, your “proud to be country” songs, and your love songs. It’s about real life with real music. Just enjoy… and quit worrying about how “country” it is or isn’t. Johnny Cash is country… and rock and roll! (OK, not Pop. But still, the song with Katy Perry is alright…she is very talented, obviously! 😉 and, thankfully, there’s no lines like “hear me roar” with a pop sound behind them… 😂😂😂) So… get the album, and ENJOY!!!

This is his Best album,, all 15 songs are great or Good,,no skippers,, Its a nice blend of pop and country,, and 70s rock..,, if you like Zac Brown(his older stuff),, or you like Old Dominion,, you will love this,, great melodies,, and Lyrics..

Unlike a lot of the single star reviews I’ve seen I don’t consider myself the arbiter of what is and is not “””””REEEEEEEAAAALLLL”””” country. I just know what I like and this album slaps. That’s all I need. Perfect album to get me in the mood for summer.

Katy Perry was an interesting choice for a country collaboration, but her voice really suits the genre. They sound great together and hope to hear more from the both!
