to see a group of clear headed conscious musicians band together to create a bridge between two musical genres, much like the first project, is a beautiful, inspiring experience. Great album
I'm usually not a fan of Radiohead cover albums, but this one is actually great! It's so creative, who would have thought Radiohead would sound good reggae style?
Fun rendition of a Radiohead masterpiece. One day when I grow wings, and iTunes adds the Radiohead catalogue this will be pointless...but for now...yay Radiohead!
Easy Stars deliver!, Best Cover Album I've heard, Upbeat, yet still Radioheadesque, Geat Buy!
If you love Radiohead or Reggae you will love this album. I am a huge fan of both so it was perfect for me. The stand out tracks are Toots cover of Let Down and Skelly from Isreal Vibration doing The Tourist. Fire one up, crank up the sub woofer and enjoy. -Irie
This album is tremend, simply tremend, brahs. As a big Radiohead meck, I found this album to give me the jollies. I listen to it whilst eating heaping portions of Hulkaroni and cheese.
HELLO i-TUNES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! When I first saw this artist whom I've never heard of, I COULD HAVE SWORE THAT IT WAS R A D I O (H) E A D. I KNOW that they don't want to sell their songs on a piecemeal basis, but, you guys need to come up with a solution to bring one of the most creative, talented bands of the era on i-TUNES. THANKYOU
Yumm Yumm thinks a lot of people has BMW's "Legend" as a staple in their music library (of course very few have the individual albums). Yumm Yumm loves Radiohead and Easy Star All-Stars (including Pink Flyod covers-"Time" especially). :P
I was worried that they were going to screw up my beloved Radiohead with a crappy cover, but thankfully this album is really good. Different from Radiohead's sound, but still enjoyable. I like listening to this and OK Computer back-to-back.
I just got this album all I can say is that they nailed OK computer to the T. OK computer is my favorite album by radiohead. I got Dub side of the moon cause I'm a Floyd nut and I dug these guys. If you love reggae or a big fan of Pink Floyd or Radiohead or both get those albums you won't regret it at all.
This Album was ok at best. I really like Ok Computer, but some songs just don't sound right in this CD. I loved Dub Side Of The Moon, and had high expectations for this, but i feel like they just didn't deliver. It's worth checking out if you really like reggae.
Some Radiohead fans wont like this if they arent really into reggae cause it does bring some sunlight to Ok Computer. I was so impressed with Dub Side Of The Moon I couldnt even imagine what the next conversion project from the Easy Star All Stars would be. When I found out they were gonna do Radiohead's Ok Computer I was stoked but a little concerned. I mean how do you take an album like this and convert it to reggae? Very carefully. Give it a chance to shine cause its got its own flair for sure. Try not to compare it to the original cause thats like comparing apples to oranges. They are the same same but different! I love this album in both forms. I reccomend buying the CD so that you can read the producers notes in regards to the project. They had a harder time with this one. Note that no samples were used in makin this whatsoever. Much respect to the musicians involved in makin this happen! Peace Be With You All
It's nice to hear some original songs from the Easy Star All-Stars. They are one of the best out there. If you have not seen them live....you must!
I'm a big Radiohead fan. When I heard of this remake, I just was not interested. However, after listening to some of the previews I purchased it on a lark. All I can say is WOW. This collection stands on its own as a great way to revisit the original OK Computer album from a reggae perspective. This is not a novelty album - this is the real thing!
Who would ever think that 2 classic albums by Floyd and Radiohead could ever be so creatively and effectively interpreted into reggae. Easy Star All Stars have done another great job with Radiohead's OK Computer. If I had to select an album to do a reggae version, I wouldn't have ever picked this one. I guess that's why I'm a listener and not a musician. Very well done!!
in my humble opinion, an excellent interpretation of a classic album, which is very tough to do. in fact, there are times when the reggae versions (dare I say it) outshine the original versions. if you're a fan of radiohead and enjoy reggae as well, this is a can't miss.
If you love Radiohead, and you love reggae, then you will love this. Heck, even if you don't love reggae (who doesn't love reggae?), you'll learn to love it. Any chance these guys will do a reggae version of "The Bends" next?
When you listen to this album, make sure you don't have the impression that it's supposed to be a cover act. The Easy Star All-Stars do what they do best, and just make somthing brand new out of an already prolific work. There only places this album faulters is when it doesn't stray away from it's original content. "Paranoid Android" doesn't even have a reggae beat till two thirds into the song, and "Subterranean Homesick Alien" should have had some serious re-tooling. Altogether, it's an amazing piece of work. Considering their high ambitions, the Easy Star All-Stars do pretty damn good. Not as good as their amazing effort on Dub Side of the Moon. I defy you to listen to Toots sing "Let Down" and not burst out in tears of happiness.
A GREAT FUN JOINT I'M SOOOO GLAD I GOT! IT'S CHILL+PARTY AT THE SAME TIME!! I LOVE OK COMPUTER AND THIS NEW WAY TO PRESENT IT AMAZES ME!!! THIS IS A KEEPER!! MY IPOD IS GONNA BE LOVIN ME FOR THIS ONE!! CHECK IT OUT U WILL LOVE IT!!
I loved their first effort with Dub Side, yet I don't really get their second attempt. Yeah, trying to reggaefy Radiohead sounds like a good idea, and it might have even worked, yet this album leaves me confused. Not a bad album, but not a great album.
I really enjoyed this album. Its great to hear a new spin on one of my favorite bands. I would highly recommend this album
This is a great album that stands alone. This is not a scam for the Easy Star All-Stars to get popular as some have said. If that was so they would have covered a band much more mainstream than Radiohead. Buy it listen to it and smoke some G13 to it...
it really disapoints me that a band can be so unoriginal to name themselves after radiohead and just make a bunch of covers. i mean im not saying the music is bad, in fact i really like their rendition of karma police. but i wish they could be more creative.
I am a Radiohead fan. I also grew up on reggae (my parents are Jamaican so I know reggae... it's in my blood). A good friend of mine is the lead singer on one of these songs and so I happened to hear it while hanging out with him. After I heard the song (Electioneering) wanted to hear the entire album.
This album repeatedly and consistently trips me out everytime, anytime. buy it and get dubbed out.
Bought the CD, only in my player one time. Too bad too, I'm a big reggae/radiohead fan and some of the singers featured on here like Horace Andy are some of my favorites. Sounds like it would be a good idea, definately not a classic.
Discard the naysayers. This is a solid effort, just like Dub Side.... Enjoy it. Thom Yorke does....
Radiodread is one of the best bands to remake any radiohead songs they also cover bands like pinkfloyd and zepplin very talented band they also play at the cannabis cub every year in the dam FYI
this is the first radiohead cover that works for me. holds on to the intentions... but creates something original. solid all around
After hear way to much Radiohead (because that's my wifes jam and I dig her..) and my never really liking them but Loving my reggae riddims ( which my loving wife has patiently endured..) we have found musical harmony in this album we both can crank up and enjoy!! ( I don't always listen to reggae but when I do so do my neighbors ;) So Big Up Easy!!! You've created a bridge 'pon overstanding and deepest groove! Nuff Respect
Radiohead is purely a band that cannot be imitated. Their unique collaberation of melodies and sounds with Thom voice and fitting lyrics should never be redmade, especially into a entirely different genre, Ragae. I think it is a disgrace to this band to sell their songs and redo them so the "Easy All Stars" can get popular. If you can't get Radiohead off itunes do not get as close as you can by downloading this album. Go out to the old music store in the mall and buy the CDs.
Seriously, is being COOL not being able to sing on key?? Sorry... if no one else hears that, then they are high too... Rock on!
An incredible interpretation of one of the best works of popular music of the 20th century. Brilliant! Anyone up for interpreting OK Computer in another genre? Bring it on!
if you are a fan of reggae, radiohead or the easy star all-stars then this album is a must. every song on this album is a standout. very impressive also are paranoid android, let down and lucky. i recommend this album to anybody who is in the mood for some chill music.
I really can't stand radiohead, so I've been mocking the idea of this album in my head, but after listening to it...DAMN, that's all I can say, damn
Radiodread is a work of genius. more upbeat and optimistic than OK Computer, but still stays faithful to the melancholy feel of the original. whenever I'm in a bad mood, this is the album I turn to. I really like Airbag, Let Down, Karma Police and Paranoid Android, but get the entire album, it's worth it!! listening to Radiodread has made me revisit OK Computer and the more I listen to both, the more I can appreciate the originality and inspiration behind both albums.
This coming from a Radiohead purist. I discovered Radiohead at the "old" 9:30 Club way back and have followed them to "In Rainbows". This is one of the best collaborations I've heard. These guys know how to put a band together. I actually like "Electioneering" and "Karma Police" better than the originals. I know, bite my tongue. Love it or hate it, "Radiodread" did a great job of covering a really complex and complicated album. I love it, my neighbors hate it!
For those who haven't had the chance to enjoy the dubbed out album, Dub Side of the Moon, the tribute/cover/dub version of the Pink Floyd album with similar name by these guys, you should. For those who have and loved it as I did, Radiodread is a worthy follow up. With plenty of guest appearances on this new album, and interesting takes that both hold true to the orginal songs as well as put a new and unique spins and departures from some of the elements that were there originally, they've created a great companion to Radioheads OK Computer, as well as an album that stands on it's own. A must for any Dub fans, Radiohead fans, or people with good musical taste. Can't wait for more from them!
I went to see this show because I knew that Dub Side of the Moon was a masterpiece! The show was breathtaking and it was the last show of the tour. I danced like I was experiencing something new and wonderful no one else knew about yet. As if the band was taking us on a magical journey at times. I downloaded this album immediately and burned a disc for myself to listen to in my vehicle. This Album has some deep and full tracks that iPod headphones will not express. This MUST be heard through a bigger system to truly capture the experience. The second track, Paranoid Android - reminds me of a Beatles tune I like alot, something like "alone on a river....float so incredibly high" Maybe Lucy in the sky with diamonds. Go pay for this album and make plans to see them perform whenever and wherever they might play next!! My hat is off to the engineer. A true Dub Scientist! West Coast Phader
Soooooo good! After hearing their first album, I had no doubt this would be insane. Words cant describe the appreciation I have towards these artists and this materpiece. Cant wait to see what will be next-JM
I discovered "Dub Side of the Moon" quite by accident. It ended up being one of my all-time favorite dub albums. One is hard pressed to find an original and satisfying Pink Floyd cover, much less a whole album. I was trilled to discover a new Easy Star All-Stars album! I think they do OK Computer justice!
I'm a huge Radiohead fan and I'm usually disgusted by the feeble attempts of anybody recreating music from one of the most influential of all of all time in the alternative genre. But this album is THE BEST project covering Radiohead's OK Computer, which is NOT an easy task to do! Musically this band has limitless amounts talent to bring forward for your listening pleasure. If you love reggae and you love Radiohead then you need to buy this album!
This album is amazing and i cant wait till the Nex all-star album
Enjoying every bit. Dub Side was for listening to all the way through for a mellow mood. This one has up stand alone tunes and guest vocalists are great. Especially Toots and Citizen Cope.
I can't get this album out of my head! It's excellent. Listening to 'Let Down' just gives you a natural high. Beautifully done!
This album rules. OK Computer is one of my favorite albums of all time and Radiodread is is an excellent compliment to a great album.
What can I say...Musically competant? Sure. novel? Ok. Successful? Alright. Radiohead? No Chance. The lyrics are there, but thats it. This in no way has the melancholy, emotive quality of Thom and the gang. The constant upbeat reggae sound found throughout completely undermines the thought and consideration that has been put into radiohead's symbiotic lyrical and instrumental pairings. Radiohead for the beach. Unnecessary.

ur taking the p**s right???
Love it. Take away the ethereal gloominess of Thom Yorke (sheer brilliance, but there's a time and place for all that), substitute with the uplifting reggae vibe of the Easy Star All-Stars... what have you got? An altogether cheerier album that you can listen to without feeling the need to down a bottle of wine and contemplate life and its woefulness. What's more, this album has made me love the original Radiohead effort even MORE - surely the sign of a great interpretation?
I first encountered these people when they brought Pink Floyd to Jamaica on Dub Side of the Moon, and loved the quirkiness and 'listen-to-this'-ability, but to be fair it was ultimately a novelty (a beautiful, inspired novelty, but a novelty nonetheless). That said, I'm a sucker for early Radiohead, I still buy their albums in the vague hope that they'll write another 'fake plastic trees', so the prospect of the allstars doing their take on my early 90s angst supporters was hugely entertaining. Nothing, though, could have prepared me for the outcome. So much more than a novelty, this album is pure joy. Take Thom Yorkes screwed-up suicidal face out of the equation and the songs from OK Computer take on a different dimension - soaring, majestic, nothing short of genius. And the middle bit of Paranoid Andoid made me laugh out loud. So there we go - I quite liked it.
Like Dub Side of the Moon before it, Radiodread reinterprets an undisputed classic and brings new and fantastic life and depth to the entire album. This is some of the freshest, most talented and, ironically, most original music out there. The Easy Star All-Stars and their guests are superb. Radiohead fans will not be disappointed ... in fact Radiohead themselves have come out in support of the album ... and those who never clicked to Radiohead can find something new and exciting here. Simply superb.
