Jeff Beck - Truth

About Truth by Jeff Beck Album

Truth is the debut album by The Jeff Beck Group, released in 1968 in the United Kingdom on Columbia Records and in the United States on Epic Records. It introduced the talents of Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood to a larger audience, and peaked at number 15 on the Billboard 200. After leaving The Yardbirds in late 1966, Jeff Beck had released three commercial singles, two in 1967 featuring Beck on lead vocals, and one without vocals in 1968. All had been hits on the British singles chart, and all were characterized by songs aimed at the pop chart on the A-side at the behest of producer Mickie Most. Harder rock and blues-based numbers were featured on the b-sides, and for music on the album, Beck opted to pursue the latter course. Recording sessions for the album took place over four days, 14-15 May and 25-26 May 1968.

- A defining album for the late '60s

Ok, I may be prejudiced, during the late ‘60s I practically lived at the Fillmore East in the East Village of NYC. The Jeff Beck Group was one of the best heavy rock bands and this album along with Beck-Ola were just a taste of the intense interaction between Jeff Beck and Rod Stewart (And the rest of the band.) Jeff Made his guitar talk and sing and along with Rod’s vocals, they had a synergy that was spectacular.

- Rest In Peace.

I had this album in 1968.

- A Taste Of What Was To Come

As the iTunes review states, this album featured members or future members of The Who, Led Zeppelin, The Stones, and Faces. What other album can say that, and at the same time include Jeff Beck in the picture? These big names aside, the music is simply fantastic. Beck is a master of his craft and ties the whole album together. Rod Stewart is at his best (and least pretentious) here, in my opinion at least. Great stuff.

- From The Days That We Actually Had Musicl

It’s really hard for me to realize how the music has devolved into whatever it is today passing for it. Beck is phenomenal at his craft , and this was a time when Rod Stewart was cool before going completely commercial. He also played along with the Faces back then. Great album.

- Truth

The songs are not in the right order..........Its an important feature for us who were there.

- raw and powerful

Crank it up and rock!!...this is not a highly polished studio album and Jeff Becks axe actually gets sick!! too bad it is missing three cuts...Let me love you,Greensleeves and Blues de-luxe.

- Love This

one of the greatest guitar albums of the 60s..this album was recorded with an all star lineup. rod stewart is at his best here, jimmy page and jeff becks playing is phenomenal. ronnie wood and john paul jones play great bass, nicky hopkins is great on the piano, and keith moon..hes obv a great drummer so theres nothing to say really..shapes of things, becks bolero, and i aint superstitious are all great songs.

- Remastered Verison Also On Itunes

There is a remastered verison also on itunes that has 18 tracks

- Thanks, David

The remastered version is a much better value. I used to hear this album when working in a restaurant during high school. After hours, we'd retire to the upstairs bar, put on Beck & Stewart, and pour drinks for the staff. Never could find the music until now. Have not listened yet but still hear Jeff & Rod in my head from 37 years ago. A must have for all fans.

- True Greatness

This album is amazing and paving the road for so many great rockers to follow. Jeff Beck is legendary!!

Truth Wiki

Truth or verity is the property of being in accord with fact or reality. In everyday language, truth is typically ascribed to things that aim to represent reality or otherwise correspond to it, such as beliefs, propositions, and declarative sentences. Truth is usually held to be the opposite of false statement. The concept of truth is discussed and debated in various contexts, including philosophy, art, theology, law, and science. Most human activities depend upon the concept, where its nature as a concept is assumed rather than being a subject of discussion, including journalism and everyday life. Some philosophers view the concept of truth as basic, and unable to be explained in any terms that are more easily understood than the concept of truth itself. Most commonly, truth is viewed as the correspondence of language or thought to a mind-independent world. This is called the correspondence theory of truth. Various theories and views of truth continue to be debated among scholars, philosophers, and theologians. There are many different questions about the nature of truth which are still the subject of contemporary debates. These include the question of defining truth; whether it is even possible to give an informative definition of truth; identifying things as truth-bearers capable of being true or false; if truth and falsehood are bivalent, or if there are other truth values; identifying the criteria of truth that allow us to identify it and to distinguish it from falsehood; the role that truth plays in constituting knowledge; and, if truth is always absolute or if it can be relative to one's perspective.
