…but I can’t get into or excited about any of these songs. They sound generic and over produced. They took her “all about that bass” song and diced it into 20 more songs. You can tell they are trying to make it full of energy, but it’s fake energy. Fingers crossed the next album won’t suffer this fate.

This album didn’t need a deluxe. They are trying to save the timeless album sales. It’s not working. 😒 Criminals is the only song that may be worth it and it’s only getting airplay because it’s in the opening dance sequence of the series “The Perfect Couple”

I swear there is never a new sound. She doesn’t try to reinvent herself into anything new, she remains in the early 2010s sound with generic lyrics, repetitive beats, and little personality. I loved some of her older music, because it fit the year she dropped that music… but this feels lost in a sea of bubblegum pop. Maybe try a different genre. Country could probably fit her voice well! R&B possibly. Maybe even a little EDM.

Slightly biased as I’m a fan of Trainor’s music, but I believe that not many artists have unlocked a sound that pleases me. The amount of effort that goes into her harmonies— (think, “Make a Move” or listen closely to “Been Like This”) and the overall theme of retro-modern pop songs (“Whoops, “Rollin’”) makes this album take the number one on my charts. I do wish there was more ballads, like Takin’ it Back’s “Bad for Me”, however I do love the fun pop beats. This album will surely be timeless for me
