Some "gansta rappers" are too blunt with their violence. I'm not saying I have a problem with it, I'm just saying that they come out too straight forward with violence, when they have all of these "dance" songs they can irritate us with.

Young Dro is probably one of the best rappers from Atlanta.Hate him or not at least he's orginal.with rhymes mostly with coming from a crayola box.but he can keep it gangsta.For example Shoulder Lean is no doubt a club banger.and has lots of highlights on this album for example Man in the trunk,They don't Really know bout Dro,Rubberband Banks,Gangsta,Fresh & 100 Yard Dash featuring two of ATL's Hottest Female Rappers Xtaci.really these are the types of songs you hear in the club or start listening in your car.But don't think this album is all great it does have it's negatives. My Girl is probably one of the weakest track on the album.just another shoulder lean.U Don't See me could been better but thankfully Slim thug saved this track. & What It Is is Dro trying to be Cocky and make it into a freestyle but not a good job at that.But Dro has potential and makes this album worth a listen.

It shows throughout his album. Some lines: "Everybody know me in the club 'cuz they smokin' me" "White people like me, I'm on MTV with Green Day" "With Lucky Charm diamonds man, but nah it ain't Flip" Other good albums like that. All you people that hate him, learn to recognize good lyricism.

first of all, stop hating, please. if anybody writing these haterous reviews had ever heard young dro's mixtapes, they would at least be able to admit he's a nice rapper. he said, "in yo face like revlon/blast inches over your teflon/my right and left gun/turn yo dough off up at the chevron." ok so go buy dj drama's "day one" and dj burn one's "i still got that dro" if you don't feel this. having said that, i agree that this album isn't great. Dro is a hell of a talent, but it sounds like he slept in and only spent a few hours in the studio each day here. As someone who actually is familiar with Dro's work (unlike taa and these other fools hatin on dro) I can say that this is less than what he could have really achieved. but if you think songs like "they don't really know about dro" and "gangsta" are hot, then definitely check out his mixtapes. he could have just put all his mixtapes together and had a five-star album but i guess he couldn't pay all the royalty fees to Drama and Burn One to get that done.

shoulda lean

I liked "Shoulder Lean" Feat. T.I. but once I heard all of his other songs i wanted to scream! This is complete crap honestly. If you buy any of his other songs besides "Shoulder lean" than that's idiotic. In like a year or two no one will remember who Young Dro is. Did you know that Young Dro is one of his father's 21 children? Click no if you think this is crap!

shoulder lean, what it is and my girl are nice songs. however the rest of the cd is decent at best. i cant believe some of you idiots think rubberband banks is a good song. personally i think "what it is" is the best song, even though shoulder lean was a hot track for so long. If i were the person reading this, i would only buy the 3 songs i listed above, dont waste the money on the whole cd.

After T.I. blew up and made a label, he felt that now was the time to bring Young Dro to the world. Out of Bankhead (same as T.I.) he comes with his hit single, "Shoulder Lean". They Don't Really Know Bout Dro: A decent hook with average verses, production is a nice welcome to the album. 3/5 Man In The Trunk: Beat was average, Dro has some good rhymes though. 3/5 Presidential: Another average beat and average track. 3/5 Shoulder Lean: The lead single, a dance song (yet again) I wasn't feeling the beat too much or the hook, some of the lyrics are good though. 3/5 U Don't See Me: Jazze Pha's production is good, Dro is right on beat too and the song really flows well. Slim Thug adds a little H-Town flavor. 4/5 Rubberband Banks: Lil' C's production is nice with the trumpets, as Dro compares various subjects to trigonometry, Snapple Juice, Apple and Passion fruit, bumble bee, amphibians and others. Good verses. 4/5 We Lied: Keith Mack's production is certainly fitting for Dro's relationship track that shows the toughness in keeping a relationship and is a nice change for the album. 4/5 My Girl: Dro get's wild with T.I. on this "my girl got a girlfriend" track. Didn't like the beat sounded similar to "Shoulder Lean", boring. 2/5 100 Yard Dash: Newly signed Xtaci appears on this hard hitting track, with a nice hook. 3/5 Hear Me Cry: A real touching track, that shows Dro's softer side and the production is exceptional. Truly heartfelt. 4/5 Gangsta: Hard hitting beat, and a banger for Dro. 3/5 High Five: Average beat. Nothing special. 2/5 Fresh: Average track, boring. 2/5 What It Is: Production is lively and fits Dro's flow well, a good track. 3/5 It Ain't Over: Average beat, Dro leaves with a banger. 3/5 Cartoon: What it should be, a bonus. 2/5 Dro does okay on his debut, but he isn't as nearly appealing as T.I. I didn't feel "Shoulder Lean" as most, but it's the typical south hit. Dro actually shines on his softer side, "We Lied" and "Hear Me Cry" but can get tough "Gangsta", "100 Yard Dash", or lyrical "Rubberband Banks" and then smooth "U Don't See Me". Rating 7 out of 10

Classic album

Dro has got some hot songs in this cd....definetaley worth a buy. He is out of Grand Hustle/Atlantic Records, and they typically never dissapoint, esspecially in this case here. Check it out

I don't know what people are smokin on here, but this album is frkn awesome. When it first came out I got this album from a friend just only to listen to it for Shoulder Lean and My Girl, both featuring T.I. whom I love, so I wasn't expecting much else from Young Dro. But while listening to those two and having the other ones accidently play during shuffle in my iPod I fell in love with this dude! I always liked his swagger on T.I.'s other albums that he is featured in, so the fact that he was able to carry it on his own through out this CD is pretty damn awesome in my book. 10 hot tracks outta 15 is very very good for a first album, I think I listed to Fresh and We Lied about 300 times already since this album first came out and it's still rockin.... If anything, besides Shoulder Lean and My Girl, get Fresh, We Lied, 100 Yard Dash, They Don't Really know Bout Dro, What it Is, and Gangsta....pick in that order you wont regret it.... (oh and i say outta 15 tracks because that "Cartoon" ish wasnt on the CD i got, so i cant comment on that mess)

THERE ARE NO GOOD RAPPERS IN ATLANTA. except for Outkast. Basically theyre all just gimmicks with a dumb dance move or phrase. Im tired of that whole city

Young dro is beastin on his first album. Great beats and good lyrics. Alot better than any of that Soulja Boy or Franchize Boys. The only album that I have purcahsed in awhile.

Young Dro lacks one skill he's not as exciting as ti he truly sounds high and sleepy thru most of the album oh and hear me cry coulda stayed in left field overall tho Dro has a way of working his vocab to create infectious tunes back to back even when he's jus throwin silliness out there (Call me "Action" Jackson like my first name Tito) U're not laughing at him u're usually laughin wit him... If only he didn't lack the chrisma for a solo album I love his work on t.i.'s KING and p.$.c.'s 25 to LIFE but this wont be gettin much spin in my car next year i'll be lookin for somethin new if u like rap this isn't a bad album jus not a classic give a shot then go hit some mick boogie and dj drama mixtapes and get a deeper version of Mr. Rubberband Banks, Young Dro

beats? yes.. lyricism? maybe (although he may rhyme too much that you can't decipher the words. Dro's flow is the same on every single song too).. can you download the DJ Drama/Young Dro mixtape "Day One" and get more than HALF of these tracks for free? yes.. of course you have a DJ talking over them but.. highlights? man in the trunk, what it is, and cartoon.

If you don't like this album, there is something seriously wrong with YOU. Ok, he's not the best lyrically. Last time i checked music is supposed to be catchy and make you move. Here in Chicago this album will always get play on the streets.

His flow really brings out his personality. If u know Dro then u know he is a fool. This is a classic album. Beat selection is dope and his style was different from everyone else at the time.

Young Dro isn't real lyrical and he doesn't care or try to be. This album bangs. The beats and chorus are addicting. He just needs to stop comparing everything to colors.

this album knocks hard, it never got the positive attention that it deserved. i can see how in the midst of dem franchise boyz, plies, t-pain and rich boy one may lose sight of this album but it's like a diamond in the rough for the southern rap scene. production value is top notch, lyrics are witty and unexpected and the way he flows over the beats is infectious, making you wanna rap they way he does. not a masterpiece, but still a a very decent album amongst the cluttered dirty-dirty south!

Ok when T.I. came out he was a lot tighter than he is now put wasn't getting proper promoting, Dro to me got super punch lines that takes a dictionary and some real knowledge to break down, to bad most of you'll wont understand that until the south shows you he is a legend. Oh I love Biggie and Pac but Big only had two albums wonder if he would still be doing it big now, and Pac was tight but not all the time,

the fact that dro is signed to grand hustle doesn't amaze you or that he was shot in his back or the way he dresses himself it's how surprisingly consistent his raps are and that's why he will be somebody in the game one day

I really love this album!! I am a big Rap fan who usually buys every album and this is one of my favorites. Smooth rhymes and tight beats make this worth getting. Try it for yourself instead of listening to the negative.

In the current generation of hip-hop/rap this is better than the other stuff we have to listen to. It doesn't compare to some of the greatest lyricist of all time, but in the current period it's not all that bad.
