Verry good choir, personally me being mormon I hear theese songs alot, but now being able to listen to them in my car is even better.

The Mormon Tabernacle Choir improved leaps and bounds since 1997 under the leadership of Craig Jessop and Mack Wilberg. I recommend that you check out their newer work, which is very well arranged (Mack Wilberg) and very well performed. Start with "Sing, Choirs of Angels" and "A Mormon Tabernacle Choir Christmas", then look at the other new releases.

The choir is great, make no mistake, it's an American institution. They always do fantastic Christmas music. But a lot has changed in 30-40 years and that includes the choir. This recording is a classic, recorded almost 40 years ago. It has traditional arrangements of many perennial favorites, but would echo some comments here. Check out the newer stuff. Would strongly encourage anyone to check out the Choir's recording with Sissel in 2007 (Spirit of the Season) which was nominated for two Grammys. A new holiday recording for 2008 features the King's Singers. Their "Christmas with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir" on the Telarc label is absolutely amazing.

I disagree with the Mormon religion, but this choir is one of the best you will hear. Period.

I highly recommend this outstanding CD to anyone who truly appreciates the art of music. The Mormon Tabernacle Choir is an ispiration to choirs around the world and they prove it through this unbelievable collection of music. Well Done.

The Mormon Tabernacle Choir is always a great joy to listen to! Being Mormon I hear their songs played a lot and their voices are truly amazing. If you enjoy relaxing to great holiday music sung by a choir then you will very much enjoy this whole CD! Also a lot of the songs are very well-known hymns or songs so it is very easy to sing-along!

The Mormon Tabernacle Choir is arguably one of the finest choirs out there, too bad the recording of this cd doesn't show it off. The songs have an audible hiss and crackling throughout their entirety and sound one-dimensional. It's almost as if someone taped them using a portable cassette recorder. Absolutely awful sound quality.

A must!

Their "Carol of the Bells" is the most epic version I've ever heard. They even outdid The Trans-Siberian Orchestra on this one.
