Besides Enter the Wu-Tang, Ready to Die is far and away the most superior piece of NYC Rap (for that matter any hip-hop/rap coming out in the United States in the last 20 years). The rhymes are tight, hypnotic, genious. I write reviews rarely, and only for the few albums that change my life ... this is one. Listen to it 3 times and I GUARANTEE you'll agree.

How do you remaster a bunch of samples?

this album would go with something u would expect to see out of movie. ironically, the title of the album is "ready to die" wich was made shortly before B.I.G's death . this album gives a long explanation to Biggie's evil side and struggles of his life. when I listen to this, I constantly remind myself of the title of the album, while simultaneously listening to some of my favorite songs of all time. the combination gives a plotline simular to a great movie and an exciting theme. this album is truly a masterpiece - R.I.P THE NOTORIOUS B.I.G

Though not the greatest ever (Illmatic) Ready to Die is a tight CD that you should definitely purchase if you dont already have it. This CD MUST be in your collection

Biggie is good in all but I like Warning, and Big Papa. Juicy and the other one's you see on TV (Other then Big Papa thats da bomb) Are trash the other 1's on here to are pretty nice also, so yea buy this album it's pretty good

Best Rap Album

I just downloaded this “Remaster” about 6 years ago

Now listening to this today. This is horrible. Biggie has a great voice and flow. But the album is garbage so selective hits. This whole thing needs to be remixed I mean engineering and remix the beats. I tried to press play and let it play is was like stop!

FINALLY THEY GOT READY TO DIE ON HERE THEY EVEN GOT A CLEAN VERSION FOR LITTLE KIDS EVERYBODY BUY THIS!!!! R.I.P BIGGIE SMALLS!

Timeless classic. If there is a single weak track on the CD, I must have skipped it 30+ times of listening to the CD.

A hip hop classic!! I remember when I first copped this album I played it straight thru and it was crazy! I couldn't believe I didnt have to fast forward thru anything. A true Classic Banger, lyrical masterpiece! Too bad his life was cut short, for a first album, to be a banger off the cuff, is something that comes along once and awhile! If you dont know hip hop, and its history, you dont deserve to be able to rate a masterpiece like this! This comes from a different time in hip hop, when the music was really love and the level of the game was high on the hip hop scale. Today theres alot of wack mcs, Im sorry they aint even mc's, just rappers, label manipulated, repetetive garbage, with nursery rhymes for child like minds. I feel sorry for listeneres these days, back in the day they were eating lyrical and musical steaks and today theyre eating sh!tburgers and people like it!!!!! RIP BIG!

Since I can't download the Explicit version, I went and got the clean version. I listen to this rap at least once a day. My favorite part is Verse 2 and Verse 3. R.I.P. Biggie Smalls. I LOVE THIS RAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Is a 5 star album but I'll give the edited version one star and hope it will save someone from wasting their 14 bucks like me. Words that aren't even curses like gat or clip are edited along with curses. It takes away from the raw energy of the album..... Imagine listening to gimme the loot on a kidz bop album... Yea it's that bad

I feel for anyone who doesn't have the original version of this CD, this is NOT it. They removed 2 samples from song, guess because of legal reason, and this is not the origjnal version of "One More Chance" this is the hip-hop remix.
