Catchy well done songs. My kids still love it, even well into their teens.

I first heard this in 1989 and wanted my students to do this for a competition. I'm thrilled to find it here for my grandgirls!

I’m no fan of rock music—I like that good old-fashioned boom-bap, beats and rhymes—but I grew up with this album, and I still love it. This is the only way I can tolerate Carole King, although I’ve always liked the timbre of her voice, and she’s fantastic here. King’s playful melodies are the perfect complement to Maurice Sendak’s whimsical lyrics. However, the rare piano demo version of the title track is missing, an absolute revelation that was included when this was FINALLY released on CD in 1999 after waiting for many, many years for it to arrive there, so I can’t give this five stars—or even four stars. Peace.

My wife loved this as a child so she had me look for it for our baby daughter. It isn't in print any more but luckily it was on iTunes. Carole King is great and the music really holds up 30+ years later.

When my daughter (now 33) was 6 her day care mom introduced us to Really Rosie. It was like finding a treasure. We had been looking for a song for her to sing for her talent in competition. Really Rosie was perfect for a child. We gathered up a big, floppy hat with A big feather, a red taffeta slip, a ratty little 1" dia. boa, and some fuzzy bedroom slippers and she "became" Rosie. She sang the theme song for competition but the family's most fav. number was Chicken Soup because she was such a ham. It became the evening entertainment whenever there was company: "Sing Chicken Soup baby!" She did several other numbers when she "outgrew" the Rosie character but she will always be that funny kid in the red slip and big hat. I highly recommend the whole album for singing in the car and lots of group fun for kids.

This album (and the movie) was GREAT. The words stuck with me and i'm still rocken out to it today ( alone.)...but still..i love it!!

wow! i love all these songs..im in really rosie right now (as alligator).. so i know these songs like the back of my hand :) but they sound really different on this album than the way we perform them..

This was my favorite "record" growing up. Now I'll play it for my son. I still remember the words!

Grew up listening to this and now my kids enjoy it. Timeless music !!

Maurice Sendak passed away yesterday, but it made me yearn to hear this again. The album uplifts and makes celebrates Sendak's genius, King's passion, and the companionship of children. Enjoy this album with a child or alone, and celebrate LIFE!

My first exposure was to the recording of the play. While this soundtrack does not have all the songs from the play, it still brings back fond memories of when my children were little.

I remember I used to listen to the song Pierre with my next door neighbor all the time when we were young. For some reason I remembered the lyrics and would sing it all the time as I got older. But I could never figure out who sang it. I'm so happy I found this. The album is very cute.

I grew up with this book/video/album & I can now share it with my kids. Carole king has an amazing voice & all of the songs are so catchy.
