- Looking for a buck. How disgusting.

Look at Harry Connick cashing in on the Katrina devastation. It sickens me to see that he named his album NOLA. He needs to move back to California with Sandra Bullock and eat escargot.

- Oh, My Nola

Cute, Cute Cute! Harry is back to the good old days! I love the variety.

- Oh My Nola

Something about the sexy quality of his voice just gets me

- Oh, My Nola

I'm not a big jazz fan, but I am a fan of Harry Connick, Jr. After hearing him sing on the Today Show I purchased the album and was very pleased with how easy it is to listen to. Knowing the story behind the album name and his purpose for writing the album makes it even better.

- Love it, Love it, Love it!

Did I mention thatI love it? I think it's fun, I think it's timely and I've thoroughly enjoyed it since I purchased it. I think Harry is a brilliant arranger, taking songs that are very familiar, in some cases, and setting them musically in a way that is fresh and different. This is his gift, along with that velvet voice and this record certainly does not disappoint. My only question is, where are the Coal Mines in New Orleans?

- One of my favorite albums of all time!

This is Harry at his most soulful! One of the rarest of all albums that I can just press play, and thoroughly enjoy each and every track. I love this album!

- buy the whole album

upbeat. I love it

- YES!!!!!!

Might possibly be the best Harry cd yet!!! If you don't have it, get it. I saw him in concert a few days ago, and man what a show!!!! Way to go, Harry. This is why we love you!!!!!

- He is so worth it!

If you don't love Harry, then I don't know what is wrong with you! Harry's new album is just delightful! Download it now!

- Classic New Orleans jazz from Connick

What a GREAT CD. Harry Connick, Jr. takes his classic style of jazz and big band and combines it with some New Orleans standards. "Jambalaya (On the Bayou)" is an instant classic. Whether or not your are a Harry Connick Jr. fan or a fan of Preservation Hall or just like good jazz, this is an excellent CD!

- Oh, My Nola

Harry does it again. I have all his works and have yet to ever be disappointed. His voice is one of a kind. I'm not sure there is anything he couldn't sing :) It's sooo great he's back!!!!

- Harry blows the doors off on this one!

The maturity and exploration of arrangements with standards really comes through on this recording. Harry just gets better with age and each album. A must have for real jazz fans. It starts off hot with "Working In the Coal Mine" and never stops swinging.

- Oh,My Nola

Harry is fantastic...I saw him perform on television and then saw him in concert, he was awesome... Now I have to buy the whole album. I really love the New Orleans jazz...

- Ewww

I never could stand Harry Connick Jr., but this just cuts the cake. The big band plays as if their watered down parts in a manner that swings so little and bores so well that I really would consider buying this album to help myself have asleep. I FAR prefer Duke Ellington, but as far as big band is concerened, I'm not a very big fan of it anyways. The Keith Jarrett Trio, The Herbie Hancock Trio, Chick Corea and Gary Burton, and Miles Davis' second great quintet is where the real music is at, and I'm sure that if you weigh Harry Connick Jr against them, he will lose time and time again.

- harrys my godfather

hes my godfather and i went to his house and he is a very good singer hes awsome

- Jazzy & Delicious.

I like it.

- NOLA

I have been a Harry Connick Fan since I was in Junior High School, and in my opinion anything he does is great. I really miss the "Red Light, Blue Light" music that he is so famous for. However, I think his heart is in the New Orleans style jazz, and it shows. Anyone who would give his shirt off his back to a man in New Orleans after Katrina, deserves to put out an album that is for and about the great city of New Orleans. Keep it up Harry.

- Harry is Awesome

If you do not know jazz please do not bother to comment. Harry is an amazing musician and I applaude his musicianship and his love for his hometown! Buy this and you will not be sorry!

- Oh, My Nola

Great! Enjoyed the jazzy New Orleans sound along with his so smooth vocals! Made me home sick for my NOLA!

- Favorite HCJ Album YET!

This album is the reason I LOVE HCJ! The New Orleans Jazz/Swing feeling ---- music that moves your soul -- not like hip/hop or R&B today. He's a phenomenal artist. Everyone needs this album in their repertoire!

- That Voice!

Saweeet-ness to my ears! What a fun album with Harry's signature all over it. His passion for life and good nature comes thru strong in each song. Thank you HCJr for all that you do!

- Oh My Nola

I got this one for my Mom, she loves him. He does sound like a young Frank Sinatra. We listened to it all day and I never got tired of it. He mixed up genre from one song to the next it was different and good. Loved his renditions of Jambalaya and Bill Bailey. I just bought it for myself too.

- Oh My Nola

Harry does it again! This longtime fan says that the latest offering by Harry Connick, Jr. is another home run! I have never been disappointed in any album he has made. If you like jazz, you'll love this album!

- Harry fan

I am a Harry Connick Jr fan. This album has a mixture of his big band, jazz, and New Orleans funk sound. Very enjoyable.

- Jazz, Not For Me!

The person that is writing this review does not like Jazz. If you like Jazz, this may be an album that is good for you, but if you are not, I am assuming that you are probably not even reading this review. I have not listened to all of these songs very closely, but from what I heard, I did not like it. This is partly because I am not a person who listened to Jazz a lot.

- I've been waiting for this since "She" and "Star Turtle"!

Once again Harry has produced a stellar collection of tunes with the very essence of being in the French Quarter in New Orleans. I love the standards and Christmas cd's but this is where he really shines in my opinion and the song "all these people" in reference to hurricane katrina is very vivid. Great musicians, great song writing, stripped down and in the pocket!....wish it was a double album!

- First Time

This was my first purchase from iTunes. The experience was great and the album was even better! I live in NOLA, so one may say I am a bit bias. :) But, Harry Connick Jr. is a great singer and not a bad actor (from P.S. I Love You)!

- perfect.

just so good. makes one happy that talent (and fantabulous music) still exist(s) in the world.

- Absolutely Wonderful

This is some of the best work Harry has put out and I have it all. I especially love All of These People. You can feel his geninue soul and love for his city. Great CD!

- Excellent

My first Connick Jr. cd and man, its great. A perfect sound that will make you think of ol' Orleans. Love it

- HARRY - our NOLA home town treasure!!

Surprisingly good tunes here as most of the songs aren't on my list of covers or originals, but Harry always brings a little something extra wonderful to his music. As for the dude who thinks our Harry is just out to make some money, he was the one who went into New Orleans and debunked the reports that 'help couldn't get in'. He went and helped and never stops helping PLUS he's a fantastic musician. The Oh, My NOLA is a really touching song and the old standards are delivered with some new pep! There are so many songs I'd like to see him cover, but when he takes songs I don't really care about and make them appealing, it is the sign of a very talented musician.

- WOW! He did it again!

Harry Connick Jr.- what an amazing artist.....All These People- an amazing song written in honor of all the Hurricane Katrina victims! You did it again Harry! Bravo! You're amazing!

- He's BACK!

I love Harry, his music is great and this reminds me of some of his first songs. Love it!

- Excellent!

Harry Connick Jr's cd, Oh, My Nola, is excellent. The songs are catchy with great lyrics and the brass parts are amazing. The use of the wind instruments with the piano, set, and voice is well used.

- HCJ does it again

He is amazing! His voice is so clean and clear...I have loved him for years and this cd is wonderful! His voice is an incredible gift and so is his kindness. All of the work and money he has given is unreal...he has a great heart and soul and pours it in to his loves...his music, his family, and his New Orleans!

- Oh, Harry!

What a great surprise to find a new Harry album when I opened up iTunes today! I have been a fan of Harry's many varied styles of music over the years, but this album is great! It has a little bit of everything that he's known for and loves. A little jazz, a little funk, a little big band, even a little gospel and some show tunes, but all New Orleans and all Harry. Elijah Rock is a highlight for me...took me right back to childhood. And you can't miss Jambalaya!

- Oh My NOLA

I Like it! It's a wonderful collection, great to listen to even though I'm not a huge jazz fan.

- Harry Rulz!

i can't believe i got the 1st review! When my dad bought 1 of his albums, everyone laughed at him. But everyone grew to love Harry. i and my dad are big country fans and i love that Harry remade Hank William's Jambalaya!

- A True NOLA Gem

Been a Harry Fan since his first albums back in the day, and I think this might just be his best recording since BLUE LIGHT, RED LIGHT - it's a beautiful love note to the city of his heart. Like BLUE/RED, this recording bursts with energy on nearly every song - this was a labor of love, or perhaps not a labor at all, and it shows. They're just having so much fun-- every song feels like Harry's in his element - back in the musical territory that he thrives in, creatively and emotionaly. A dash of cajun, a hint of zydeco, a flare of New Oreans groove, throw in one of Harry's most soulfully smooth performances, and you get a truly special album that swings hard with beats that will force you to dance. Backed by a fantastic group of familiars, NOLA is a pitch perfect musical trip to the Big Easy. Grab a big ol bowl of jambalaya and enjoy this one all the way.

- REAL Talent

This album is one of my all-time favorites. Harry Connick, Jr. is great because he has REAL talent, unlike artists whose voices are manufactured by computers.

- Good

I loooooooooooooove it

- ehh.

he's actually pretty good. but not my type of music.

- Oh, My Nola

Saw him perform some of this on T.V. yesterday and was praying that i-Tunes would have it this morning and here it is! HUGE value!

- Harry's Touch...

Only Harry Connick Jr. could take a song by the Judds and make it sould good like this. This is yet another great release by a voice I do not get tired of hearing.

- Harry Gets It Right Again

I have been a big fan of Harry for about 15 years now, and I have to say he gets it right all the time. This album is no exception. I especially love his version of "Jambalaya (On the Bayou)". I can't wait to see him perform it in concert. I have been to two of his shows, and he does not disappoint.

- nola

awsome

- The real Harry...

I have been a fan since 1989 and own all domestic albums as well as one foreign album (France I Wish You Love). Over the years he's produced great albums (and even not so great )but not a single one REALLY exeplifed what his true musical nature is. Being that his parents had owned a music store and living in such a melting pot of a city, he was exposed to SO much and learned from the greats (such as Irma Thomas, James Booker etc.) That culmination has now brought him to create an album that truly reflects who he really is and what New Orleans is really about. He is truly a wonderful performer and person with a commitment to his family and home town. To that ney sayer who says he's just , "Out to make a buck", has it ALL wrong! You APPARENTLY have NO clue do you? In addition to some of his proceeds from the single and this album are being donated; he has been made honorary chair (along with Branford Marsalis) of Habitat for Humanity’s “Operation Home Delivery,” a long-term rebuilding plan for families victimized by Hurricane Katrina. Of everyone...he is on the forefront of rebuilding New Orleans. He was born and raised there unlike Brangelina that just show up and buy a house and act like they care. It is NOLA that Harry is indebted to for it made him who and what he is. Even if you're a jazz fan or not, you must appreciate the heart and soul he has poured into this album. He has grown and matured over the years and instead of copying and directly being compare to Sinatra as he once was, he has his own style. He has finally found himself musically and the reviews of fans only show they approve. If this album (and Chanson du Vieux Carré) does not show how much he LOVES NOLA...I don't know what would! BTW I'm still waiting for the album 35!!

- thank you Harry

So glad to have some new HCJ to listen to ... this was long overdue and worth the wait! You won't be able to get enough! I can't stop listening!

- One of my 2 new favorites!

It's great to see Harry fully embrace his roots with such passion and honesty. I've been a long time Harry fan and think this is his best work in a while. Between Oh My Nola from Harry and my newest love, Tony DeSare's Last First Kiss, which I just downloaded last week, I'm going to be musically happy for a while now.
