- Brilliant...

This album is rocking, but why it is so criminally ignored in the U.S of A is beyond me. Ooh Wee is the coolest rap song I've ever heard. This cd is the perfect mix of old school and new school. The beats are hot. Music is fresh (not like brand spankin' new but you catch my drift). This cd is wicked awesomeness. And for heaven's sakes it's MARK RONSON!

Mark Ronson successfully mixes pop and hip hop (or hip pop!?) to create a great party album. Ooh Wee and Bout to Get Ugly are easily the best tracks on the album. My only beef with this album are the slow tracks, they just don't have what it takes to compete with the rest, but that's aight cause this album is bangin!

- Just about ok

Satisfactory enough debut, I suppose, but let down by a lack of variety in musical arrangements and especially by the weakness of the vocalists, so the tracks merge into a samey blandness. 'Version' is more ambitious, displaying more confidence and variety. Listen to this album, but don't buy it, to see how far Mark Ronson has come.

- If you only buy one Mark Ronson album...

...it should be this one. Version, although an OK album, is tainted by the trendiness that has overcome Mark Ronson. Nowadays everyone wants him remixing all sorts of tracks, most of which just don't work. This album, on the other hand, shows off his fantastic writing and production skills as well as giving a platform to some excellent artists. You can really tell that this album was written to Ronson's agenda, whereas you can't help but wonder just how much "Version" was rushed after Ronson himself broke into the mainstream. This isn't all about comparisons with Version, though. This is a fantastic, danceable record which has become one of my favourite hip-hop albums ever. No bling, hardly any profanity (even from MOP), just great songs and great sounds. A must for any party DJ.

- Argh how annoying!!

I downloaded this album to my iPhone and it's listed each track as a separate album!! So after each song I have to go back on my phone to select another track to play!! How annoying!! No it's not my settings, I download albums all the time and they save like a normal album! Do not have time to sort this out on my laptop for another 2 weeks - thanks a lot!

- Stop Comparing This to 'Version'!!

I really do not understand why so many people who have listened to 'Version' keep comparing these two albums. This album is from the days where Mark was still an actual DJ in Los Angeles, so why people keep slagging this album off for being 'hip hop' is really getting on my nerves. It's quite pathetic really that people are saying this album is rubbish, it may not be to someone's taste but that certainly does not mean its bad, sorry about this badly written ramble, I am brain dead.

- Some people should not be allowed to rate albums!

This is a solid album to say the least showcasing a diverse range of talent. It is therefore unfortunate that some people who have a narrow taste in music and misunderstand other musical genres can reduce the rating of what is actually a very good collection.

- BAD...Stick with 'Version'

I loved his new album 'Version' and thought id take a look at his otheres. This is awful!!! I hate RNB and Rapping anyway and that is probably the main reason i dont like it. Mark Ronsons music is not to blame however its the awful 'singers' on the album (apart from Nikka Costa). For someone who loved the colaborations with Amy Winehouse and Lily Allen on 'Version' this album is prety poor. Steer clear from the awful rapping and so called 'tunes' because this is a definate NO. Anyone who loved the 'Version' album keep weel away from this one as it spoils the talent that is Mark ronson.

Couldnt believe someone gave this album a bad rating. Its such a good job i prefer it to his 2nd album & what a track ooh wee is !!!
