Yep the beats make it great for keeping you moving
There are classical music aficionados who would call this album "rubbish". Rubbish! I say, to that comment. While this may not be as the classical composers may have written, the essence of their work remains. Turning over in their graves, perhaps to listen? This album presents a taste of what classical music was, and has made the melodies of the greats familiar to those who would never have listened otherwise. My kids grew up listening to this, and loving it and if it introduces them to a higher realm of musical composition, at least they are hearing it, and maybe even venturing towards listening to the originals. Great stuff, and loving the BOOM CHA BOOM along with the revival of some of the classical greats of long ago.
The great composers have all turned over in their graves upon this release. Hooked on classics, yes I am, sadly these are a few classics wrapped up in a sugary casing of bad repetative electronic BOOM CHA BOOM CHA BOOM CHA! The classics for dummies. If your going to go out of your way to find classical music, please do it right. Don't buy into this garbage.

Hooked on Classics is a classical crossover album recorded by the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Louis Clark, released in 1981 by K-tel and distributed by RCA Records, part of the Hooked on Classics series. It was produced by Jeff Jarratt and Don Reedman. The opening track was called "Hooked On Classics (Parts 1 & 2)". A unique arrangement of this track, simply called "Hooked on Classics", was released as a single in July 1981, and was the version predominately played by radio. It peaked at number 2 in the UK, number 10 in the US, and number 21 in Canada. In Germany and Austria, the album was released titled "Classic Disco" and reached number one in both countries.
