- Fabulous

This music is so emotional and will make you want to listen to it over again and again. Absolutely beautiful.

- Yeah!

1000!!!

- Great album

Matthew Meixner, you have waaaay to much time on your hands

- Great Music

Great music from a phenomenal movie. Hans Zimmer does such a great job with this soundtrack.

- Question

Which one is the one where Batman's car is damaged, and he uses the motorcycle?

- Magic !!!

Amazing and magic Compositor !!!! Bravo

- Zimmer brings his "A Game"

Chaos sits in a darkened corner of Gotham city, rubs its hands together and smiles. It's almost time. In a little while, the forces of insanity and madness will begin a twisted, enraged march through the town, burning it all to the ground as it offers a full challenge to the "Dark Knight" with a limitless grin and a semi-crazy school girl flicker of the eyelids. The Joker has arrived to town. James Newton Howard (The Sixth Sense, The Village, Collateral, etc.) and Hans Zimmer (Gladiator, Crimson Tide, The Thin Red Line, etc.) once again have seized the essential musical "nector of the gods" and given us mere mortals another taste of bliss with a score that will certainly rival any action-based film for years to come. Here are the standouts... #1. Why So Serious?- opens the film. This melody gives us a glimpse of the horror that awaits the city of Gotham as a psychotic clown roams the streets with murder and aimless rage on his devilish mind. #2. I'm Not a Hero - spells the anguish and darkness that both Batman and his enemies seem to share. A powerful montage of moods which range from a surreal set of ominous strings until being finally eclipsed by by an epic, almost chanting rhythm where we feel the defiance within Batman's soul. #3. Harvey Two-Face - a Newton Howard piece which illuminates the heroic side of the cities vigilant district attorney, Harvey Dent. #4. Aggressive Expansion - Zimmer roars out at us with this one. A powerful tune which combines sparse threads of the Batman theme with an otherworldly sense of anticipation. #5. Always a Catch - Opens with the Joker's delirious theme; closes with a quaint melody. #6. Blood on My Hands - another Harvey Dent theme. A haunting piece of strings give us the mood for just what Dent represents to the city and his importance to the people as a symbol of justice. #7. A Little Push - lacking a definitive structure, this song acts as a filler being only 2:42 long. #8. Like a Dog Chasing Cars - Truly one of the standout pieces to this score, this song attacks the listener with a quick-patterned rise that culminates in menacing dance into the world of both Batman and the Joker. A beautiful tune which shares both the definition of who Joker and Batman truly are, until finally giving way into a melody which stands alone as Batman's, essentially leaving his similarities to the Joker behind. #9. I am the Batman - short but powerful filler track. #10. And I Thought My Jokes Were Bad - only 2:30 long, still provides the listener with a concise ride into the realm of Gotham. #11. Agent of Chaos - Another multi-layered piece which pays initial homage to the Joker's random madness until giving way to the tragic outcome surrounding Harvey Dent. #12. Introduce a Little Anarchy - if ever there was a Zimmer Batman theme within the film, this would be it. #13. Watch the World Burn - Captures the horror of what the Joker is capable of doing. Truly one of the gems of the score, if not the most powerful track on the album. #14. A Dark Knight - at 16:15, acts as the final piece for the film, joining together many of the main themes from the film. Soundtrack Grade: A

- ripoff

I only want the last song on the album and I have to buy the whole thing what a rip off!

- Outstanding !!!!!!!!!

Never thought a soundtrack for any Batman film could surpass Danny Elfman's work but Hans Zimmer does a masterful job.

- Great

Liked it so much I finally had to buy it. :P

- MUST BUY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is the best soundtrack album I have ever herd! Hans Zimmer is awesome!

- Love the soundtrack and movie

I just ❤️❤️love this soundtrack I can listen to it when I’m at home or in the gym working out

- Powerful

These songs make you feel, at the sad times like A Dark Knight I want to kill myself while loving it to death, at the intense parts..... I'm speechless.

- Yesssss

This was definitly amazing but you should consider hans zimmer inception album, it is at least twice as good as this

- One of Great Soundtracks in this generation!

Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard are able to express the darkness within the film, I'm sure The Dark Knight Rises soundtrack will also be extraordinary!

- Music says it all

Yep

- Simply gives me the ultimate feel of both the hero and evil.!

Repeat

- Jaw dropping

This was the best movie I've ever seen. Period. Hands down. The music is simply exhilarating. My personal favorite which I highly recommend would be Introduce A Little Anarchy. That song is probably the most epic soundtrack piece to date! Whenever I listen to it I feel like I'm in the movie and can't help but start moving faster! Great music. A must have for any self respecting TDK fans.

- Fantastic!

Probably one of the best soundtracks ever! Why the hell it didn't get a Oscar nom is something I'll never understand

- Awesome!

My favorites are Why So Serious and Always A Catch.

- A great soundtrack!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! by typop

I saw this movie 4 yrs ago and it is still my all time favorite!!!!!!!!!!! This soundtrack has amazing songs!!!!!!!!!!!!

- I love it!

I love the music and the movie ! As a musician, the music more than the movie

- Hockey Motivation

I listen to this album before my hockey games. It's such a great album! Definitely my score by Hans!

- Great

Cant wait for TDKR

- One of Hans Zimmer's best!

Awesome soundtrack! My favorite songs are Like a Dog Chasing Cars, Aggressive Expansion, Introduce a Little Anarchy, and the Dark Knight.

- F1?

"Why so serious?" the first 30 seconds of the demo, sounds like an F1 car.

- THE BEST Soundtrack for a Movie EVER!

It's just amazing, it makes feel that I am in the movie... Its Dark and mystries just like "Batman" character.

- Nice music!!!!!

I really like it. :D

- Absolutely amazing.

This score is some of Zimmer and Newton Howard's best work. Every track is beautiful and awesome at the same time. Buy it. You won't be disappointed.

- Amazing

Great movie. Great soundtrack.

- Bat man

Bat man cove sleeping 🛌 love you miss love you 😽😴🥱🍉🍇🫐🍎🍏 miss miss love you too much love you love miss love love miss you too much 😎🥸😎😎😎🤩🤩🤩😏

- Dang!!!

Wasn't a huge soundtrack guy before the purchase but wow!! It's my opinion but I think this soundtrack is bigger than the actual movie (not a knock on the soundtrack in the least). Totally worth

- The Dark Knight

It's "very average" (from my limited "test" (3 in days of time)), as people say. While many interesting segments exist within the songs, most of them are not in any coherent, good song. There's an assortment of underlying themes that seem randomly thrown into many songs, and several times they culminate by cutting in abruptly (ex.: Agent of Chaos: 4:42)...it feels choppy. A major one is The Joker's signature, the set of screeches, they aren't appealing and they're everywhere. The album's themes, underlying or not, get redundant and the songs have parts that are too similar to other songs' parts. Lots of the songs are comprised of badness only. Some are good, from my experience, I've found 3 that are good: A Dark Knight (which is a smooth composition of many of the elements found in the entirety of the "score"), Watch the World Burn, and Aggressive Expansion. The music can also be easily annoying, stressful. It's because of the style, the "high strings" and high tensity. I'm disappointed by the album. The Dark Knight Rises has a much better album.

- Epic

The soundtrack is so epic!!! Introduce a little anarchy has to be the best.

- Fabulous

Great music! Hans Zimmer just keeps getting better. Why am I even writing a review for this?

- Absolutely Genius (and nothing less).

Two of the greatest album composers of all time, working together? On a movie based on the greatest superhero that ever existed? Words cannot describe my euphoria when listening to this album.

- The Dark Knight Rules!!!

Without a doubt Heath Ledger is the best Joker a very dark and very twisted character and music makes him seem all the more believable

- HAHA

How much people came here after watching the Dark Knight Rises Trailer.

- A dark knight

BEST SONG EVER!!! So intense and wraps up the the entire album perfectly

- Awesome

This is a great soundtrack to a great film!

- <3

This is easily, the BEST album I have ever come by. I remember seeing this movie and thinking "I think this is the best score I've ever heard". Props to Hans ZImmer for being my favorite film composer.

- Makes everything you do epic.

Seriously Great.

- Just a masterpiece.

I mean, what else do I say? Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard-it's awesome!

- Best Batman ever

The best

- A Perfect Collaboration

The Dark Knight surpasses the precedent established by Batman Begins. The same Batman themes return, but with an extra major-chord element to distinguish the new Batman from the current Bruce Wayne fighting against all hope. The Joker's Theme is radically inventive (electric cello), and can be found in 'Why So Serious?' and other bits and pieces around the track. James Howard's theme for Harvey Dent stands stylistically apart from the rest of the soundtrack, but deserves mention. For anyone who loved the film, this record is a MUST BUY.

- Wow...

Hans Zimmer did it again! One of the best soundtracks out there (with the man of steel)

- INCREDIBLE!!!!!!!!

THAT WAS PROBABLY THE BEST MOVIE IVE EVER SEEN! INCREDIBLE SCORE BY HOWARD AND ZIMMER TOO.

- I love Hans zimmer's music !!!!

Best album ever!!!!!!

- Great.

It's really great and all...but I really wish that they put in the part where Jim Gordon is talking about Batman at the very end. That would have made this album completely awesome! Ohhh well.

- BUY THE ALBUM

This is Hans Zimmer's best work, hands down. There are about 4-6 themes that are explored in this album, but the genius of it all is the bringing together of all the themes into 14 tracks. "I'm Not a Hero" and "Why So Serious" are the best ones on the album. If you only have about $3 left, buy those. The triumphant two-note crescendo brass blasts are extremely powerful, but my favorite theme is the wandering cello theme with the background percussion, the main theme of "I'm Not a Hero". In "Why So Serious", the Joker suite, the razor blade on piano wire or cello sound immediately conjures the image of the delusional clown so center to the Batman franchise. All in all, the album is a must-buy and almost something of a compliment to the great hero known as Batman.

- Awesome OST

Awesome soundtrack for a awesome movie

- Amazing Background score

Would rate this score one of all time greats

- The Dark Knight Soundtrack

Great work being done here by Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard, a great, dark and memorable theme to go with Christopher Nolan’s masterpiece. “A Dark Knight”, “Why So Serious?” And “Harvey Two-Face” are my favourite pieces to the Score. Worth getting if you're a Batman Fan, or a Fan of this movie in particular, and it's a bonus if you're a fan of Hans and or James Newton Howard!

- AMAZING!!!!!!!!

This is awesome music

- Amazing

Just brilliant

- excellent

very good soundtrack for this movie

- Yipee

I'm ecstatic to see the new Christopher Nolan film!

- Prokofiev beware!

Needless to say that the album is very "powerful". The rythms are simple, yet thunderous. The texture is "dark" and the themes "combative" & "lively". Just by themselves, the tracks are stories that bring about deep emotions and the listener's vivid imagination can embark on his own story - it is addictive at night. One of the rare album purchase I did and very satisfied by it.

- Overwhelmingly Great Soundtrack

If you are one, like me, who likes to listen to scores, then do not hesitate to buy this album. It is indescribably good. In fact, I bought this album expecting it to be something i could listen to during the night while trying to sleep, but it was so good that it kept me awake.

- so awsome I cant put it in words

This is the best batman music ever. I can't imagine what Heath Ledger would have thought of this; he probably would have fliped his lid since it is so cool !!!!!!

- Dark Knight

I saw the movie. It was very haunting but the movie suited it so well! I love it. In the movie when Harvey gets his face blown up... that was SO scary! Ayways, it is a great soundtrack and a great movie!

- Très bonne soundtrack!

La soundtrack nous donne des frissons lorsqu'on écoute le film. Vraiment très bonne.

- Very well-done

Hans Zimmer is a very smart composer. He said on the subject of this soundtrack that he didn't want it to sound like a theme song, and he succeeded in doing this. With subtly brilliant and differing songs he brought the dark emotions of the Dark Knight into stark relief, giving the movie a new sense of excitement and profoundness. It's interesting how much the mood changes when I just turn on this soundtrack... it does its job very well.

- OMG

I saw the movie and it was INCREDIABLE , I thought it was the most extrondinary movie ive ever seen . The music is just the cherry on top . AMAZING.

- Gripping and Dark. Just the way I like it!

Take the violins, and other strings from Hans Zimmer's "Pirates of the Caribbean" scores, and add the Breathtaking, ear drum cracking drums and gripping beats from James Newton Howard's "Titanic" and in theroy you will have the most dark, gripping, and exciting soundtrack immaginable. Well, it's no longer theroy. It's FACT. The Dark Knight grabs you and doesn't let go. The film itself feels like it's 7 hours long because there are so many things happening. But that's a good thing! It means the film has made your mind and body lose track of the time around you. Which means it's really grabbed your attention. A film like this needs a brilliant score, and boy did it get one. You will feel your seat rumbling and your hands trembling under the heavy beats, and metal bashing percussions of Howard. You will feel your insides turn to sorrow under the Strings and Solos of Zimmer. You will generally feel the music all around you. No one in the audience will honestly say the music didn't compliment the film. I will be purchasing this soundtrack right after writing this review. It's that good. I have many favourite Composers: Powell (The Bourne Series) Howard (Titanic, King Kong) Zimmer (Pirates) Gregson Williams (Narnia, Chicken Run) and of course John Williams (Harry Potter, Star Wars, Jurrasic Park, Jaws, ETC...) And so when composers work together to create musical genious, it brings tears to my eyes. 5 star soundtrack, 5 Star Film. Must Buy Whether you are cringing under the frightening themes of the joker, jumping around your house to the thunderous beats of the Batman, or just sitting back to let the Score wash over you....... You will experience the film over, and over again in your mind because of this Dark and Gripping Soundtrack. Some of Zimmer's, and Howard's finest work to date. You will not be sorry for your purchase. At any price, You simply must have this.

- awsome

awsome c.d movie is 5/5 to.

- why so serious?

why so serious? hihahahahaha

- Even better than the first

Upon seeing Batman Begins, I purchased the first soundtrack and have had it in my car constantly for over a year. A big reason I was so excited to see The Dark Knight was for the music. And it did not dissapoint. Including all of the best pieces from the first movie, it adds a few new ones that only serve to enhance the movie and the soundtrack as a whole. Best listened to from start to finish, my two favourites are "I'm Not a Hero" and "Watch the World Burn." Simply the best score I have ever heard.

- Dialogues from the movie are titles of the various songs...

Okay, as a 7th grade arts student, I have to say...the use of violins and drums dramatically enhances the soundtrack, and most definitely builds the tension. The simple, yet complex tracks will amaze you, with their dark undertones, and variable tempos. Please, do not go jogging in the dark with these eerie sounds, as the dynamics will shock you. I even let out a little scream myself. But really, folks! This is a great soundtrack for a contemporary routine, or even a dark jazz number. "Aggressive Expansion" takes the "cape"(all pun intended) for me! Enjoy!

- Awesome, if you love soundtracks..get this one

A great listen. I love to play this at the gym, or while on a run out in the park. Seriously, you'll feel like the dark knight himself..Ha ha. Seriously though, the music is amazing, it will pass through your soul and the deep bass and rising tempo makes it a work out must.

- The Dark Knight Shines!

Lovin' it. The creepy sounds that create the miove. Even though I haven't seen the movie i can picture it already!

- amazing

this movie is absolutley amazing , I saw it in theatres and i will for sure be buying it once it's out (: and the music compliments the movie PERFECTLY this is amazing. go watch it if you never saw it yet. :) <3

- Whoa!!!!!!!

Whoa! This is a very suiting soundtrack that perfectly matches the movie and brings out the full emotion of it with its low strings and drums. Hans and James have done an amazing job with it. Themes like the Joker's in "Why so Serious" are so creatively done and really compliment the characters, (especially the Joker.) Good Job on this score.

- Good Sound Track For A Perfect Movie

Just Saw The Dark Knight And i Thought that the soundtrack fit the movie Perfectley and Help keep the Feeling of the dark tone of the movie. Ps. Heath Ledgers Joker is the best new villin of all time

- Well,

I saw the movie. I stayed through the credits. The music complimented the film magnificently. And listening to the OST in the car provided great sense memory. I just have to remember that the Saturn is not the Batmobile.

- All around...

A brilliant soundtrack for a brilliant movie!

- Thrilling Music!

When you see the movie the music adds a thrill to the scenes and keeps you on the edge of your seat. An amazing job done by Hans Zimmer as he adds an edge to the movie and suspense at every turn. The Dark Knight is a thrilling adventure, a classic for the future forsure.

- A Dark Score But An Excelent Soundtrack!

The score of this soundtrack fits and runs with the movie very well! I am very impressed! The score is dark, but goes well with the darkness of the movie. Well done and well worth purchasing!

- ROX!

Saw the early screening of The Dark Knight and the soundtrack fits well through the entire movie. When it comes out on the 18th, you'll agree too!

- WhY So SeriOus

That's the question! It's Dark, Scary and very surprising for a Batman score but I loved every minutes of it! The new theme for the Joker work pretty well with in background the old batman begins theme! Niice Work... You, Bat Fan must have this one.....

- Excellent

I'm not a huge batman fan but I absolutely loved The Dark Knight. Heath Ledger's performance was outstanding. The soundtrack is more than adequate for such a great film. The best soundtrack I've ever heard.

- The Dark Knight is GREAT

Another great follow up to batman begins. I really enjoy the pairs work on this as it compliments the visuals on the film and it also makes for a great listen on cd. Here are some examples of great tracks to listen to: Track 1 - Appears in the opening bank robbery scene and sets the tone of the film. It is ambient and dirty sounding industrial sounding, appropriate for the joker Track 2 - Appears in the Hong Kong segment - first introduction of the extended/new batman theme (see around 5 minute mark). It also incorporates some familiar batman begins themes Track 3 - Mainly involved in the court room scenes/mob guys getting arrested, another appropriate theme for Harvey Dents character, haunting Track 8 - Supposedly the bat pod chase, but it is found at the final climatic scene where batman is stopping the joker from the blowing up the ferrys. It structure is similar to Molossus from batman begins, but uses the new batman theme. Track 14 - Best of track, starts around the two face segment near the end of the film. Contains the full performance of the new batman theme. This music compliments the new world of batman perfectly and highly enjoyable listen

- Amazing!!!

The music is a great follow up to the music Batman Begins. Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard have done an excellent job of this soundtrack. I bought the CD, and have already listened to it atleast twenty times :) Why So Serious: A good introduction to the soundtrack, easy to listen to with great sounds I'm Not A Hero: A sadder, more complex piece of music, very enjoyable to listen to. Harvey Two-Face: I found this one a little less interesting to listen to, not sure why, just not as interesting for me :) Agressive Expansion: Very good Always a Catch: This music is very 'detailed' and, again, complex. A good, short piece of music. Blood on My Hands: Not my favourite, its very quiet with a touch of sadness to it. A Little Push: I really enjoy A Little Push, the music is very interesting because there are all different styles to it. Like a Dog Chasing Cars: SO GOOD! I Am The Batman: A nice and short piece of music And I Thought My Jokes Were Bad: AMAZING! One of my favourite, I love the beat in the middle Agent of Chaos: Long, but good Introducing A Little Anarchy: THE BEST piece of music on the soundtrack Watch The World Burn: Good, a slower piece of music. Not my favourite but still worth listening to A Dark Knight: Very long but interesting.

- This is cool!

A great album like the movie

- best movie and soundtrack in the whole world!!!!!

I loved the movie!!! im not a batman fan but i am now!!!! best movie ever!!!!! now theres a soundtrack!!!!!! *fainted*

- THIS RULES MAN

I absolute love this cd soundtrack of batman. It has very good sound quality and it makes you feel like you are in the movie. If only they could reduce the price just a little because some poeple out there have little money and probably wish they could get it. lol hahahaha

- Good but no where near as fun as Batman Begin

Good but no match for Batman Begins which is unfortunately not available in Aus. itunes. I mean W.T. F. why cant we have all the soundtracks in Aussie itunes, why do i have to buy from U.S. itunes every good Soundtrack.

- Kool

This is a mad albumn for a mad movie Ive seen it so cool i recommend this albumn for anyone who likes music also watch the movie

- Go Joker

This album is an awesome compliment to the massive and amazing structure of the big blockbuster movie when I hear the music it reminds me of the movie i definetely recommend it but you must see the movie no exceptions guys it is the best movie ever made

- Extraordinary

I watched the movie few days ago and thought this is the Best movie for 2008. I've been a massive Batman Fan since I was 7, heard a lot reviews that its been given 5 Stars, I give it 10. Heath Ledger's performance as The Joker was just Incredible. The Music on this Album is superb. Hans Zimmer has created another Fantastic score to the film.

- The Dark Knight Rules

Awesome soundtrack. The 1st time was the best. I was literally shaking, at the hunting conclusion, A Dark Knight. Now this a religion. Fav songs: Like a Dog chasing Cars, and Why So Serious.

- Absolutely Amazing

This music is amazing. Dangerous, moving and emotional, this mixture sent a shiver down my whilst listening to some songs. I can't get enough of this music and I am listening to it in every chance that I can, even though my friends listen to tottaly different music, I am not ashamed of being 'outside the circle'. This is great music that went perfectly with what has to be the best film, I have ever seen. If you have not yet seen The Dark Knight I highly recomend you do, for the storyline and acting is brilliant. I would still be writing this even if he was alive but Heath Ledgers acting is brilliant.

- Done it again!

Hanz Zimmer has done it again! Gladiator Lion king Just to name two! Awesome!

- Hans Zimmer / JNH - Geniuses

This Album is as amazing as the movie itself. With a variance in all songs with very interesting instruments and synthesiser sounds, plus a full orchestra, you cant go wrong. You can follow the scenes in the movie just from the music scores themselves.

- Superb!

Hans Zimmer is a master at composing huge, epic, flowing, pieces that don't overpower the film, but adds so much! Heath Ledger did an amzing job and the Jokers theme (so to speeck) added a sense of danger to it. The last track, A Dark Knight is a journey of emotions, and the firs thalf of it is heartbreaking. Overall, MORE than worth a buy! :)

- Hans Zimmer and Chris Nolan!!!

When they collaborate, the music is just the best!!!!

- A winner

This soundtrack is just great. There are few good ones (soundtracks) around and this definitely ranks among them. One that truly captures the spirit of the movie. I am huge listener to soundtracks and rate this as good as "The Fountain". The opening is the most apt start to this ensemble.

- one of the best

I got this album a week ago and i haven't stopped listing to it yet, fantastic soundtrack to accompany a fantastc film. You can't go wrong if you like both artists previous works.

- ANOTHER BATMAN CLASSIC

Did I think it could get any better after the Batman Begins soundtrack? No. But it is. 10 times better. LOVE IT!

- Amazing music

One of the best movie soundtracks. Great range of dramatic and sinister music

- One of the greatest movies of all time a great watch

Highly recommend this masterpiece to all

- Incredible

Amazing pieces of music on this soundtrack. I wish the Batman Begins soundtrack was also available though.

- Holy Great Album Batman!

This album is, like Zimmer and Howard's "Batman Begins", utter brilliant. Danny Elfman's scores for the first two Batman films were awesome but the two new compsoers have done a really good job of taking Nolan's new modern day Batman into out times. A great album for diehard fans but if you hated the "Begins OST" (which was awesome and get's better with each new play) and long for the more brash themes Elfman created you'll hate this. 10/10

- Wow!

Just listened the previews, but wow! How dramatic! Still need to see the film though.

- AWSUM!!!!

Dwnloaded one track, but got the rest, awsum album, listen to it in the gym to get me goin!!!! sometimes thinking im Batman hahah awsum 10/10...

- Best Soundtrack of the Year

For the best Movie of the Year, actually, all time. Each track is great, with good build ups and epic sections of songs. It's great to hear the music you remember from scenes of the Movie. I recommend this to anyone who appreciates Movie Scores, and any true Batfan. 5/5 for me, ignore these 1 Star fools. It's an amazing score!

- Hans Zimmer's & James Newton Howard's best joint score yet!

This is truly one of the most staggeringly beautiful pieces of Film music I have ever heard. The Two Greats, Zimmer & Howard, have come together to create a score which, not only conveys the emotion of the film, but also holds perfect to previous tones and themes used in there previous outing, Batman Begins (A score which I whole heartedly recommend you buy). It displays, true, gritty, powerful film music which is one of the things lacking from many film scores today. If you don't have this soundtrack, you're missing out on a lot!

- The Dark Knight...Terrific

An AMAZING movie...and an AMAZING soundtrack... It was fabulous...And I hope next time (if they make a new movie) they don't use the joker coz i think heath really matched that part. R.I.P Heath Ledger (: 5 Star.

- Dark Knight got Darker

Most of the thematic materials are simply just a repeat of earlier version (Batman Begins) which kind of make sense but it makes a wonder if they really had to work hard for this and make so much fuss about it..... No doubt that this the score serve the picture very nicely, but this is certainly a weaker soundtrack from both composers, there are just so much repeated materials in this score.....

- The Dark Knight Soundtrack is Perfect !!!

Soundtrack form The Dark Knight is very good, but movie is better. I love this!!!

- Hans Zimmer does it again!

What a SUPERB film, made so because of this fantastic soundtrack. This is right up there with the likes of Gladiator and The Last Samuri soundtracts. The films my be hours long but the music will stay with you for much longer. The music will really empower you. Just don't try being a Super Hero.

- Awesome!!

I've seen the film twice now, enjoyed it more the second time!! What can I say, awesome film and awesome soundtrack!! The music compliments the mood fo the film so very well. A brooding, atmospheric masterpiece!!

- Wow.

I. LOVE. IT. Amazing film, and amazing soundtrack. Can this film get any better?

- Batman is awesome

I watched the film and thought it was awesome so i got the music. The Music is immense and my favourite tune was agrresive expansion. The money for it was ok but it should be cheaper if apple are trying to compete against other downloading sites. I give this 5 star because it is all-round good

- An orchestral masterpiece with an industrial twinge

the combination of these two composers is quite incredible. Each track holds an immense amount of emotion, and as said in previous reviews it portrays the character of batman extremely well. Every track is a gem, though the album reaches a peak in the final track ' A Dark knight' which is a 16 minute long spine tingling masterpiece. Why are you still reading this review? Buy the album!

- Hmmm.....

Lots of droney stuff with strings in 5ths and sound design. For real film scores look elsewhere.

- Story

Great!

- Brilliant

I loved the film, and now i love this too. Great musical pieces from the best Hans Zimmer.

- Best soundtrack of the year to go with best blockbuster : )

Fantastic follow up to 2005s Batman Begins soundtrack. Zimmer and Howard reunite and beautifully evolve character themes and maintain the brooding feel that perfectly portrays Batman as a character. Brilliant stuff, Well worth a buy

- Master

Wow!!! This is a suitably icredible album for an immense film. The music is powerfaul and dramatic and the different pieces really tie in with the characters and what is happening in the film. Whist you are listening you can picture the scenes from the film. If you love batman i really recomend this albums or even just some of the songs. great for non Batman likers too.

- amazing

absolutely love this soundtrack. 'aggressive expansion' and 'introduce a little anarchy' are my favourites, but they are all so good. this soundtrack really captures the movie; for people who have seen the dark knight, these tracks will remind you of the best scenes. love it.

- Amazing

Classic Hans Zimmer. The whole soundtrack is phenomenal and can stand up on it's own as beautiful pieces without the movie.

- How did this happen...?

Well, being a fan of both composers - moreso of James Newton Howard - I couldn't help but feel somewhat disappointed when I heard this score. It largely consists of sound effects as opposed to actual compositions, relying on the 'copy and paste' approach throughout much of the underscore, and many of the cues come over as tedious noise. 'Harvey Two-Face' is quite an interesting cue, my money's on James being behind that one, and there is some good material in the lengthy final track, but if you were expecting to hear the dramatic, powerful chord progressions and relentless action scoring of Mr Zimmer and the intricate, sophisticated and elegant themes of Mr Newton Howard, then look somewhere else for much better examples of both composers' work. I've yet to see the film, but I'm sure the score works well in its designated arena. My comments are purely from a listening perspective.

- Fantastic

Awesome

- The Dark Knight

Loved Zimmer since Rainman. Listened avidly to everything he's done and the Dark Knight album is my favourite. Utterly bewitching, stirring, powerful and moving. Allows the film to hover in the realms of brilliance.

- I love the dark knight!

If you do as well then say so in a review. This album is breathtaking, I would recommend everyone to buy it! It's not hard to work out why this movie has been so successful. Thank you lord for this amazing masterpiece.

- Amazing movie = amazing score

I really don't know what to say. Nolan's made a masterpiece of a movie and both Zimmer and Howard have done an incredible score to go along with it. A must buy.

- powerful

i saw the movie... then bought the album... now I just have to watch the movie again! this soundtrack inspires.... play it loud and all your friends will be impressed.

- An Aggressive Expansion

Zimmer and Newton Howard build upon their take on the Batman mythos with a score that both compliments and surpasses the work done on 'Batman Begins.' Familiar themes from the first cinematic outing are joined by new and often unsettling directions that perfectly capture the twist and turmoil of the film's two villains. An evocative score for a compelling film.

- Brilliant Soundtrack

After watching the movie a few days ago, I could not get some of the songs out of my head. I decided to buy the album off iTunes and I am so glad I did! What an amazing, dramatic soundtrack it is. If you like liked the film and like good soundtracks, download this album NOW!!!

- Groundbreaking music

Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard are talented musicians who compose the best music for the best films. The dark knight trilogy was an awesome movie series with awesome music that both Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard produce.

- Review

Very good, 3rd film will be even better, can't wait

- Good!! But...

Good album these guys always do the best but iTunes you block out the one song I wanted right at the end, the best piece and I have to buy the whole album with money I don't have at the moment :( oh well :) xx

- BATMAN IS AWESOME !!!!

I used to hate batman but know he's my favourite superhero partly because of this soundtrack-and yes technically he is a superhero

- What can I say...

This album is amazing! Yeah, some of the songs are very similar, but then you have those like "Harvey Two Face," "Like a Dog Chasing Cars," and "A Dark Knight" which are simply amazing! "Harvey Two Face" alone is worth buying this whole album I think. Seriously the songs ending is really amazing! One of the best soundtracks of all time for one of the best movies of all time. Buy this album now, then buy the film when it's released!

- Truly awesome work

Hans Zimmer & James Newton Howard have taken their iconic, heroic themes from Batman Begins and tinkered with them to awesome effect. The new, unsettling tracks for Joker & Dent are a superb addition making this one of the best soundtrack albums out there at the moment.

- The Dark Knight Soundtrack... A Classic

The Dark Knight Had To Be One Of The Blockbuster Films Made This Year... And So Is The Soundtrack. It's Brilliant. It's Beautifully Written And Beautifully Played. It's Absolutely Brilliant. An Epic Soundtrack For An Epic Movie. My Favourites Tracks Are "Aggressive Expansion", "Blood On My Hands", "And I Thought My Jokes Were Bad", "Agent Of Chaos", "Watch The World Burn" And "The Dark Knight". A Classic Soundtrack. Better Than The First Film's Soundtrack: Batman Begins. A Classic Soundtrack. 5/5. Buy Now!!!

- not bad

it aint bad but not the best ive heard.

- The Darkest Soundtrack

A slow burner, it took me a while to really appreciate the complexity of this score. it is without doubt a superb piece of work by 2 composers at the top of their game. a dark soundtrack for the darkest of knights!

- Nothing quite like it, except Inception..

This Batman theme is the theme that will go down in history as the all time great. It's more memorable than the original Danny Elfman theme and far more enjoyable. Hans Zimmer has created a modern day masterpiece that will always be remembered as the ultimate Batman soundtrack. But then again, the Inception score is just as good if not even better...

- Bloody good

Of course, we knew it was going to be. Well, it couldn't afford to not be. It's a relief that they are giving the tracks sensible titles this time, unlike in the first soundtrack, even though its originality must be praised, where it was pretty hard to match up tracks with scenes!

- LOVE IT!!!

Loved the Batman Begins album but this one blows me away as did the film! Everytime I listen to it makes me want to see the film again. Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard do not dissapoint

- Awesome sound track, play it loud !

What an awsome sound track, this totally captures the dark rock genre of the film and keeps the listener on edge as the pace makes you feel like your sat in the batmobile mid chase. If you're a fan of the Zimmer style of dramatic emotive music you won't be disappointed, this is best heard when played loud !

- A bit of a mixed bag- some jokerfic tracks, some more of a henchman quality.

Some tracks on this album beautifully capture the action of the film, whilst others seem to have got lost on their way to Gotham and have instead driven straight into a boggy marsh ('I Am the Batman' and 'A Little Push', I'm looking at you). You either need to choose your tracks carefully or you are willing to accept that some of the knives in the Joker's pockets aren't quite as sharp as the others. The best tracks are those which are Joker-related, especially 'Agent of Chaos' for its tension, 'Introduce a Little Anarchy' with its memorable blaring brass and rolling timpanis (though for some reason it is a little reminiscent of the 'Pirates of the Carribean' theme), and 'Like a Dog Chasing Cars', as it seems to me to be a summary of the Joker. If you aren't a Joker fan, or are looking for something a bit gentler or with more light and shade, try 'Aggressive Expansion, which has varying styles, from driving, to soft, to an unnusual assortment of sound effects, or perhaps the brooding 'I'm Not a Hero', or the partly sweet, yet tragic-sounding flow of 'Harvey Two-Face'. You may also find great pleasure in the opening track, 'Why So Serious?' if you are patient, although the same cannot be said for the closing track, 'A Dark Knight', which although with good parts, is not worth its 16 minutes and the need to purchase the whole album. Overall, half of this album is brilliant, about a quarter is dire and the rest is reasonable, if not filler material. A worthy soundtrack for a stunning film.

- Like the film, surpasses its predecessor

Hans Zimmer and James Newton Howard's Batman Begins score had a wonderful balance of atmospheric angst and emotional guilt, here the partners in crime surpass their previous effort, including some of the more renowned material from the Begins soundtrack and weaving it into a more emotionally charged state of affairs. Cranking up the tension as well as complementing new characters Harvey Dent (a tragic and poignant piece that encaptures the charcter's own slide into madness) and The Joker (the grungey 'Why So Serious?' a clear reference to his lust for anarchy) perfectly. Though no conspicuous Batman march or theme is present a la Elfman, as a body of work it aids the tone of the film effortlessly
