Circus is that album which is all about context. If you did not know Britney went through life altering painful events before this album was made you might think of it as just another good pop album. What really makes it genius is how it cloaks sadness, separation, media harassment behind poppy beats & catchy lyrics . The thing about Britney is she always uses hyperbole & sarcasm for communicating. You see that a lot on this album too like calling out paps on kill the lights & if you seek Amy; talking about how her then manager & family was secretly drugging on Blur & Rock me in. I know circus theme is done few times before but Britney’s life was truly a circus during making of this album & this album will forever be iconic in her discography for bittersweetness. World got their pop star back while she lost her right to freedom.

This album is good. It has some songs that are easy to dance to and have catchy lyrics. Womanizer, circus, and if u seek Amy are the lead singles in the album. This album is a happy, easy to dance album, where as her previous album blackout was dark and different. I do think this is one of her best albums.

Britney is growing in her music and has basically created her own genres! You can always tell it's Britney when she sings. Some of the songs aren't the best, but I still like it

I'm pretty indifferent. Britney's vocals are computerized and fake, the beats are nothing new, and the melodies are nothing special. Another album to file away under the label 'generic, auto tuned pop.' Of course, if you love that sort of 'nothing new, same old computerized music' stuff then this is the album for you. If you want a true, heartfelt yet upbeat, non-computerized, beautiful pop album then don't waste your time here: go buy P!nk's 'Funhouse'

Circus has some good songs, but there are also a lot of filler tracks and Britney Spears just doesn't have a very powerful voice on most of the tracks. I like Womanizer, Circus, If You Seek Amy and Phonography. I don't like Out from Under, Kill the Lights and Shattered Glass. The other songs are okay. Circus isn't terrible-I'm just not going to buy it personally.

I still don't understand where is her voice? She sounds good... but was it really her voice? Circus; 100000/5, she was amazing in it; The dance moves and the beat were very catchy. The lyrics was right to the point. Womanizer was alright, agressive and hot- but it's not that catchy or 'that' fun to listen to... Out from under was one of her best 'calm' songs, reminds me of the old britney <3 or young to be exact XD

Womanizer 3/5 - catchy money grab, nothing special Circus 5/5 - it grows on you... very unique use of various synthesizers and voice mods Out from Under 5/5 - beautiful song overall, you get used to it and love it pretty fast Kill the Lights 5/5 - dark sound very reminiscent of some of the tracks on Blackout, extremely sophisticated with good lyrics... the sound and beat are very catchy Shattered Glass 5/5 - pretty good sound, the chorus is extremely good... lyrics are a very good perspective of a very clichee situation If U Seek Amy 4/5 - another money grab, but it's more elaborate than her other money grabs Unusual You 5/5 - very good sound... the strongly electronic modified Britney voice introduced in 'Circus' in a softer song with slightly stronger and less repetitive instrumentals than Out From Under Blur 3/5 - very clichee but kind of catchy Mmm Papi 4/5 - if you think about it, it's a pretty stupid song... but it's very catchy and addictive and for once we have a playful song on a major record label which isn't a graphic narration of a night involving sex, drugs and violence Mannequin 5/5 - extremely electronic, the sound isn't great but you get addicted to it... the way the electronic Britney voice sings so lifelessly is very addictive, and very fitting to the chorus... lyrics are also amazing... overall it's extremely unique and I like the sound Lace and Leather 2.5/5 - different sound from everything else, some might love it but I personally did not like it My Baby 2/5 - look up the lyrics to the song and tell me what you think... I personally think that I don't want to hear a repetitive ballad about the Spears children... she repeats the same words about 50 times and makes me want to shoot somebody BONUS TRACKS: Radar 2.5/5 - stupid song, but pretty catchy Rock Me In 3/5 - nice sound in the chorus but overall it's mediocre and the lyrics are stupid... feels like a filler to try to make money off a "Deluxe" version Phonography 5/5 - extremely electronics, extremely catchy... pretty cool lyrics very nice dark feel

Britney- of all people really knows how to make a comeback! I saw her perform in the Circus tour in Hamilton a few weeks ago and man, did it rock! She puts so much energy into her performances, it makes you tired! This is a fabulous compelation of everything she's ever known for, and most of all it "SCREAMS" Britney! Totally original, not to mention creative; this is a great example which proves why Britney Spears is STILL the Queen Bee!

Until I listened to it. 1. Womanizer - **** - A great up to beat song about all the men in the Showbiz industry 2. Circus - *** - This song is not the type I'd be listening to. It has more beat than tune, and that's not me. Catchy, though! 3. Out from Under - *** - This song does not go well with Spears' voice. 4. Kill the Lights - *** - It's alright. 5. Shattered Glass - ***** - I love this song. It's catchy and has great lyrics. 6. If U Seek Amy - ***** - Even though this song has a horrible message, it is EXTREMELY catchy! 7. Unusual You - **** - This song talks about Spears' experience with relationships with people in Hollywood 8. Blur - *** - Spears' is hungover in the song, so it is a bad message, but catchy 9. Mmm Papi - **** - No comment... 10. Mannequin - ***** - This song is so good I can't describe it 11. Lace and Leather - **** - The message in this song is girls can take control of guys. And for whoever hasn't heard the news about Britney's new song: If you seek Amy; people are protesting that this song is a bad influence on children. In the song the lyrics are : all of the boys and all of the girls are begging to if you seek Amy. It doesn't make any sense rite? WRONG! Briteny deliberatly made this phrase make no sense. If you listen to it carefully, it almost sounds like: all of the boys and all of the girls are begging to F. *. *. K. me (it sounds like she's spelling out the F word and then adding me at the end). This is a very clever disguise for using this kind of language and still getting it on the radio. Briteny intended the lyrics to be like that, she didn['t just make it up! Do you think this song should be heard on the radio during the "children" hours? (10pm-6am) If yes click the thumbs up sign, no, the thumbs down sign. Lets see what America thinks!

This CD is not Britney's best. But she is definitely back. Check out Shattered Glass, Mannequin, and If U Seek Amy. Go Britney!
