I listened to the samples and decided to buy the album. This is the best album I have ever bought.

I love trance in all its forms. This album is a great summary of the oeuvre of a great practitioner.

5 stars for a compliation? When you combine the best songs from Behind the Sun, Far from the Maddening Crowds, and several unreleased songs (at least in the U.S.) you earn it. Chicane finds the sweetspot between Chill and Trance that is both magical and intelligent. Next time you have the opportunity to put on your best headphones play this start to finish. These songs will take you on an adventure filled with joy and introspection that will leave you wanting more. You will be disappointed when it is finished, but you will have a smile on your face from the journey and a need to hear it all over again.

Too bad chicane is afraid to fly! This album is a great demonstration of his talent through the years. A must have if you love the baleric sounds that take you on a journy to Ibiza. Especially the beautiful tracks like saltwater and poppiholla.

For folks who don't understand or appreciate electronic music, Chicane is very palatable starting point because the music easily evokes rich imagery, time, temperature and place. To get a sense of Chicane's vibe, imagine sitting atop the headlands above San Francisco bay at 6:30 am. on a balmy Sunday morning as the glowing sunrise to the east begins to splash your face with warmth. The receding fog exposes the bay as the city comes to life. There's a cool energy with splashes of warmth and optimism infused into every tune.

A mostly-great selection of songs, including hard-to-find songs. My only disappointment with this set is the shortened version of Saltwater, at under 4 minutes it's missing several minutes of music from the original version - I didn't catch that initially or I may not have bought it, so I revised my rating from 5 to 3 stars.
