The songs are A LOT more singing rather than their hardcore rapping. The lyrics are still classic 3oh!3... But they have definatly decided to sell out a little bit too much. Still a good album. Just more Popish than most 3oh!3 fans would like to hear.
I used to hate pop, but 3OH!3 has some decent songs that are pretty catchy. There are actually some songs on this album that have meaningful lyrics, like R.I.P., I'm Not The One, and Streets of Gold. Some catchy songs are My First Kiss, Touchin On My, and Deja Vu. Overall, it's a collection of catchy songs mixed in with meaningful songs and a couple bad songs. Not bad at all.
The third record from Colorado electro-pop duet isn’t a downer. They’re music has been filling younger personal night clubs, frat houses, school gyms and MTV’s playlist for the past year and half now… all because of the little song that did. That song was “Don’t Trust Me.” After watching 3oh!3 at the 2008 Warped Tour (with only 20 other people) I knew they would be popular, but not THIS popular. Granit they’ve done a song with Lil Jon and other pop stars of the day, all they really are are two acqured looking dudes. One does the lead vocals and the other makes the beats and does the deeper backup vocals… and that is it! A few songs of ‘Streets of Gold’ were leaked online before the album was released in June. This album unline 2007’s ‘Want’ is a total pop album that’s only been upgraded for the 21st Century. The intro track is a great crowd warmer and then goes into ‘I Can Do Anything’. It’s catchy but not worth the next track to follow… ‘First Kiss.’ Let’s be honest here, Ke$ha only says one sentence the whole song and then does the OOOOOooooooooooOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooooooOOOOOOOOOOoooooooooooo in the chorus of the song… THAT’S IT! So not worth her getting the royalties off the song. The next song is dirty as it is just catchy ‘Touchin on My.’ The reason why it’s the best track on the album is because of the damn beat and high pitch tones that are incorporated to block out the bad words that we all know go. IE: “Girl I gotta. I’m finished with the show with you wanna –BEEP– me, I won’t say no. Touchin’ on my –BEEP– while on your –BEEP–. You know we are gonna –BEEP– cause I don’t give a –BEEP–. Raunchy, but catchy. The college house party anthem “House Party” is sure to get it’s playtime from the iPods in the garages and kitchens they fill. It’s pathetically true. All of us who attend the small town house parties can truly relate to this song while we pregame for the nights events. From they’re the album goes on a rollercoaster. “R.I.P.” is heartbreak song… even though the guys from 3oh!3 could get any girl they wanted… which is just what the next song “I Know How to Say” is just about; them touring around the world. The next song are good, but not the 3oh!3 we know. More about life with their fame getting in the way of it. It picks back up at “See You Go” but then closes with “Love 2012”… really clever guys. Overall the album isn’t bad, but the fact that these guys are just making music for money to play on national and international radio stations is apparent. They are here to party as long as they are hosting it. -sigh- While 3oh!3 is still on Photofinish Records, expect them to sign to Atlantic, or Capitol, or Universal Records very soon. It’s gonna happen. Like I told Ke$ha, you need to know when the party ends and hope on that train car. Keep in mind that people don’t mind old rock stars (ie, AC/DC, Pink Floyd, Metallica) but pop stars? Have you seen Madonna lately? Eww…
This album is excellent. I love every single song!
I like this album a lot. RIP is one of the most amazing songs ever!
I hate my first kiss but I luv double vision keep up the good work 3oh!3 rox!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
People seriously need to shut up. This album is awesome! I don't think Sean and Nat even KNOW how to sell out! My brother got me hooked on them when I was a third grader. I was raised with impecccable taste in music, and I know this stuff is GREAT. Here is a song-by-song review. Track 1) Beaumont 7.5/10: This has a really good synth line, the chanting just bothers me a little. This is my alarm clock song! Track 2)I Can Do Anything 10/10: Ha! This song is true 3OH!3; it makes you laugh, and has a little bit of a motivating message. Track 3) My First Kiss (feat. Ke$ha) 9/10: Sigh. Oh, the song that turned 3OH!3 into 'crap'. According to some folks, Ke4ha is a she-devil. I don't think it's all that bad. It makes me wonder what Sean and Nat were like in middle school... Track 4) Deja Vu 11/10: I LOVE THIS SONG!!! Perfect for anything; homework, cleaning the bathroom, working out, gets you pumped for anything! Track 5) We Are Young 10/10: It's like a electro-punk "Teenage Wasteland" Track 6) Touchin' On My 11/10: Very, very clever. All I'm gonna say. Track 7) House Party 6.5/10 Just too funny. Reminds me of my brother. Track 8) R.I.P 11/10: Never thought I would live to see the day 3OH!3 wrote a song that made me cry. I did. Track 9) I Know How To Say 9.5/10: Eh, its alright. Kind of the boys talking about how awesome they are and how they can get all the girls they want. It's true, but still. Don't tell us in a song how lucky you are. it makes all non-lucky people jealous. Track 10) Double Vision 11/1-: EVERYONE cranked this at every party this summer. The best summer song since Cobra Starship's "Wet Hot American Summer." Track 11) I'm Not The One 12/10: This song is the most emotional song ever written. I cry even thinking about it. Track 12) Streets Of Gold 10/10: Pretty good for the title track. Also emotional. Track 13) See You Go 9/10: Fast paced song about the one who (almost) got away. Track 14) Love 2012 11/10: This song is great. It has almost an apocylyptic feel. There's a surprise at the end, so listen to the WHOLE song. In conclusion, 3OH!3 DID NOT SELL OUT SO DON'T SAY THEY DID!
Good job!
Why r u turning 2 pop i bought 2 songs that sounded ok but the other made me die why is every good rock band turning pop u and cobra starships latest albums are very sad plz go back 2 the good stuff WHY KESHA I HATE HER SHE IS SO POP BAD CHOICE!!
I miss the old 3OH!3. come back. ♥
3oh3 is awesome. No doubt.
OMG THIS ALBUM IS SOOOOO GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!i used to hate them, but from this, I LOVE THEM NOW
I hate that they made a pop album, but 3OH!3 can actually make mainstream pop good. This is one of the only pop albums i'll download
OMG!! This album is the best album EVER!!!!!!!! I luv the album!!!!!!
Who cares what every one thinks it's your opinion and that's that personally I love this album and no one can tell me not to...NO ONE!!!!
I think was a good album not trying to be mean or anything you try new thing like 3oh!3 did
My two favorite songs by them on here. I'm Not The One - great to see 3oh!3's soft side. I loved it! I Know How to Say - soooo catchy! I jam out to it all the time when I work out. Another fantastic album by 3oh!3!!!!
I love 3OH!3, for sure... but yeah, I really like that loud, crude band of 4 years ago... Double Vision and a few other thigns are just great to me, but for some of the things, I really want that old stuff you used to do.
Look how ever does not like this ablum can go to hel cuz most of the old song were not good and alot of people hated the songs this is sooo better
The album it's self is pretty amazing ! But it is true its not the same 3oh!3 we all know and love...
3OH!3 did a great job, and this is a decent cd, but a lot of the tracks aren't as raw and the tracks on Want. If you like poppy music, you'll probably like this... If you liked the rawness of Want you may like this, but beware much of the albul is poppy. Personally I was a tad disappointed. Their lyrics aren't that great on this one :( And some of the tracks are too poppy for me.
Change isnt bad, ya know? this album was different. andd want was DEFINETLY bettr. but who cares? 3OH!3 is branching out. growing as artists. you cant blame them. i count this as an experimental albumm, and for an experimental album it did pretty good.
All of you stupid hipsters can shutup about 3OH!3 going mainstream. Two songs on this album made made me cry and the rest are the best songs I have ever heard
because you're not helping or making anything worse by writing "mainstream." That's just plain ignorant, not all 'mainstream' music is bad. I loved Want, but I am in love with some of the songs on this one, especially We Are Young. Complaining isn't going to make them go back to Want. I don't even see the big difference, with the expection of Double Vision + My First Kiss. People do what they can to get money, it doesn't mean they're greedy. It's not like they're doing all the scandals in the book. If you were a true fan, you'd still like them. It's not that bad, come on.
It's their best one yet! I loveeee them!! ♥ I need moreeee! :D
I like this album,,, but what happened to their old sound? I hate how all the mainstream music has the same sound. And whats with the explicit crap?? this was kind of dissapointing.
i like it but i liked 3OH!3 before all there fame and what not... but its still good
Ok, so maybe 3Oh!3 has gone more into the mainstream, pop sound with Streets of Gold, but you gotta admit, they are doing something divergent from some of their earlier stuff. Particularly with songs like Deja Vu, they are taking a dimmer, less glamorous look at the whole club scene that they wrote about before, while still perpetuating it! Frankly, Streets of Gold is a break from the worn-out hits like Don't Trust Me.
it's nothing amazing.
Personally, I like it more than Want, but it's still not great. My favorites include Touchin' On My, Double Vision, Streets of Gold, House Party, and My First Kiss (feat. Ke$ha). Those songs are upbeat and dancy. The lyrics are crap but it sounds good (to me).
I blame kesha for this junk!
3oh!3 is a pretty good band so but this album(not so much).
Every song is awesome. everyone who sais they have changed, yes i notice it but its both for the better and hardy even noticable. Heres a song by song review Beaumont-intro I Can Do Anything-9/10 this one is a lot like the old stuff My First Kiss-8/10 little popish for them but it sounds good, fun to listen to Deja vu-8/10 another one that sounds older. Its not as good as i can do anything though We Are Young-10/10 the 2nd best. Its got good lyrics and a great rhythm. Really fun to dance to. Touchin' on My-7/10 i like it but the chorus is weird cuz its censored :P House Party-5/10 worst one. its kinda fun to listen to but its sorta repetative and slow R.I.P.-10/10 ahh 3oh!3 u have created a masterpeice of sound and lyrics. Its makes you want to dance, sing, and cry all at once. Best on the album I Know How to Say-9/10 really cool and catchy. They say love in like 10 languages, its cooool Double Vision-8/10 its really fun and catchy when u first get it. But it sorta gets old after a while Im Not the One-9/10 its very different for 3oh!3, but its very heartfelt. Streets of Gold-10/10 3rd best. Its got a balance of everything great but nothing really stands out to make it higher than 3rd See You Go-8/10 i really like this songs chorus the verse is just eh Love 2012-7/10 just another song, no complaints, no praise
Love It(: Fav Song: We Are Young First Heard It On A Hellcats Episode & Was Excited It Was On iTunes(: 3OH!3 Is Amazing.
I didnt hear of 30H!3 until my bffl showed them to me I LOVE THEM wether its pop or rap!!
This album is about the best theve ever done! I love it! (:
R.I.P/I'm Not The One is like Still Around House Party is like Chokechain Double Vision is like Colorado Sunrise My First Kiss is like Starstrukk Beaumont is like Tapp This album, in my opinion, is just like WANT, in a good way. They didn't really change their style, which everyone is saying. Although I do like this album more than WANT, 3Oh!3 is still beast.
This album is not the 3oh!3 you know and love. Its mainstream and not good frankly. I'd appreciate a return to old 3OH!3 or a new evolved version of that, that is the music people want to hear. Try keeping to your roots guys mainstream wont help you.
GARBAGE.
Their songs are catchy!
OMG streets of gold and RIP and the one with ke$ha that said she will never get a nuf ones she gets a little touch if I had it my way I would make her say. That's my fav song I saw that RIP music in a Little is pet shop video I was like OMG that's my fav so ya thank you 30h3 you rite asome songs if there was more than 5 stars I would vote 9,000,000,000,000 stars ok bye By super fans
The first time I listened to a 3Oh!3 song was on MTV. It was Don't Trust Me. Bought Want and loved it. Even thought, it seemed not that much produced. And it sounded like an immature sound. Streets Of Gold is kinda the maturity I've been waiting for. It is more produced, has some great songs and it doesn't mix several genres like Want did. It's a great album and there is, at least one song everybody likes about this cd. Glad to see that they have decided which genre to be on! Rock on 3Oh!3!
Still 1 Of The Best Albums Ever Created
Can you please go back to rapping? that was much better and more fun to listen to! this sounds like all of the other music that is popular today i really Love Want but, i was hoping for more rapping!
It was a good buy and worth it
People need to shut up. This album is great! They can do whatever they want! So deal with it people!
What happened to the 3OH!3 that we all loved? Honestly I can't believe what was on the CD when I purchased it. I don't care if it's the streets of gold tour when you come to my hometown I don't want to hear any of that, just play the good stuff, no more of this Jonas Brothers stuff you made to try to get on the radio.
what happen to holla back and chokechain. 3oh3 you changed and for the worse... go do music with justin beiber. YOUR ALBUM IS LAME if your 12 to 15 its a MUST! have
I love this album!! It's amazing!! I love it!!!
this is absolutely amazing<3 i love itttttt i dont stop listening to the songs
